Damages: I was billed $7.93 on my local phone bill.
Consumer Complaints & Reviews

My complaint is the slamming and/or cramming of a long distance telephone charge never made by anyone in our household. A charge of $7.39 appeared on our phone bill from Bell South implying a long distance call was made on August 8, 2005 to Nevada for directory assistance. Their provider was 10 15 15 800, and ILD was the clearinghouse and biller of the charge. A review of this company shows it is fraught with fraud, countless consumer complaints, and fined by the FTC for deceptive practices.

I subscribe to an SBC long distance plan and use that exclusively for long distance. The SBC representative said I would have to speak to a Teleservices representative and transferred me their customer service dept.
I was then put on hold for 10 minutes and finally spoke to Mauricio (ID 3819) who said the charge was connected to a Tel 7 long distance directory assistance service accessed by dialing 10 15 15 800. I have never used such an access code and I live alone, so I know that no one else has used that code from my telephone.
He agreed to remove the charge and added a block on my phone line for that access code.

My Qwest bill had a charge of $7.39 from ILD Telecom for a 1.0-minute call to Directory Assistance. They could not tell me which number was requested by someone who allegedly called from our house.

SBC told me to only pay their bill and they notified ILD of the error ILD has made.
