    Stihl Chain Saws

    Stihl is recalling about 23,500 of its MS 192 T Chain Saws. These chain saws can leak fuel, posing a fire hazard.

    A connection in the ignition grounding system could loosen and create a spark, posing a fire hazard. Also the springs in the clutch assembly could come out of position allowing a spring of the clutch to be projected from the saw housing resulting in injury to the user.

    The recalled Stihl-brand chain saws have model number MS 192 T, located on the side of the chain saws starter housing. They include serial numbers 264371702 through 266087005, which is located on the top/front of the chain saws housing.

    The saws were sold by authorized Stihl dealers nationwide from January 2005 through July 2005 for about $280.

    Consumers should stop using these chain saws immediately and return them to an authorized Stihl dealer for a free repair.

    "Who's That Girl!" Sweaters Recalled

    Trendset Originals is recalling about 1,700 "Who's That Girl!" sweaters.

    A drawstring is threaded through the hood of the garment, posing a strangulation hazard to children, in violation of federal safety regulations.

    The recalled girls' hooded sweaters are pink, blue and white and have a label that reads "Who's That Girl!" The R/N number is 48829 printed on the inside neck tag of the garment.

    The sweaters were sold exclusively at Gordman's Department stores nationwide from September 2005 through November 2005 for about $10.

    Consumers can remove the drawstrings to eliminate the hazard or return the hooded drawstring sweater to the store where purchased for a full refund.

    Ace Han Baby Walkers

    Ace Han Corp. is recalling about 1,000 baby walkers. The walkers can fit through a standard doorway and are not designed to stop at the edge of a step. Babies using these walkers can be seriously injured or killed.

    The recalled walkers have eight wheels and an activity tray with interactive toys. The walkers are blue and pink with various designs on the cloth seat. Imported by Ace Han Corp is printed on labels located on the base of the walkers.

    The walkers were sold at independent retail stores in New York and Philadelphia from April 2004 through October 2006 for about $20 to $30.

    Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled walkers and return them to the retailer where purchased for a full refund.

      BabyBjorn Feeding Spoons Recalled

      BabySwede LLC is recalling about 33,000 BabyBjorn feeding sppons. After extended use, the soft plastic tip on the feeding spoon can loosen and break off, posing a choking hazard to young children.

      No incidents have been reported in the United States. BabySwede has received 11 reports of the plastic loosening on the spoons in other countries. No injuries have been reported.

      The recalled feeding spoons were sold under the brand name BabyBjorn, which is printed along the front side of the spoon's handle. The spoons were sold in one package containing two spoons. The spoons are about 6-1/2 inches in length, with a soft, flexible plastic tip sold in two color combinations: blue/red or green/yellow.

      The spoons were sold at specialty juvenile product stores, catalogs and Internet sites from January 2001 through November 2006 for about $9.

      Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled feeding spoons and contact BabySwede LLC to receive a refund or replacement spoons.

      Headlight Recall Affects Nearly Every Type of Car

      Pro-A Motors is recalling more than 60,000 replacement automotive headlamps used in cars and trucks manufactured by nearly every major automaker.

      The company recall involves headlights that were sold as replacements. Some of the lights do not have amber side reflectors as required by National Highway Traffic Safety Administration standards.

      Without the reflectors vehicles will be poorly lighted and that could cause crashes, according to NHTSA.

      Pro-A plans to offer to buy back the lamps when the recall begins. The recall does not affect original equipment headlights.

      Pro-A has sold 61,944 of the lights for Acura, BMW, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Dodge, Ford, GMC, Honda, Isuzu, Jeep, Lexus, Mazda, Mercedes Benz, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Pontiac, Saturn, Toyota and Volkswagen models.

      Polycom Conference Phone Batteries Recalled

      Polycom Inc. is recalling about 21,000 lithium ion batteries in SoundStation2W wireless conference phones. The batteries can overheat, which could pose a fire or burn hazard.

      Polycom has received two reports of batteries overheating and causing minor damage to the tables on which the units sat. No injuries have been reported.

      The recalled batteries were sold with the SoundStation2W wireless conference phones, and separately as replacement batteries. The SoundStation2W Part Number is printed on the underside of the telephone. The SoundStation2W Part Numbers and SKU numbers are as follows:

The recalled battery Part Numbers can be found on the bottom right hand corner of the white label on the battery pack. The date code can be found to the left of the Part Number. Recalled batteries have the date code of 1205 (December 2005) or earlier printed on the white label of the batter pack.

      The phones were sold by Polycom business to business resellers who sell through catalogs, online, telesales, through office supply stores or on the Polycom Web store from August 2004 through January 2006 for between $700 and -$900. Replacement batteries were sold for between $50 and $90.

      Customers should remove the battery pack from their SoundStation2W unit immediately. Once the batteries are removed, customers can still use their conference phone by keeping the charger plugged into the unit. Customers should not attempt to use other batteries in the unit.       Steve & Barry's Children's Jackets

      Steve & Barry's University Sportswear is recalling about 334,000 children's outwear garments. The The garments have a drawstring through the hood, posing a strangulation hazard to children.

      In February 1996, safety regulators issued guidelines to help prevent children from strangling or getting entangled on the neck and waist of drawstrings of upper garments, such as jackets and sweatshirts.

      The recalled garments are various color jackets, coats, and sweaters sold in youth sizes up to size 12 with drawstrings through the hood. Many of these garments have the names of colleges and universities written on them. A tag sewn on the garment reads, Steve & Barrys Quality Athletic Goods. The style numbers are 15178, 16105, 16168, 16230, 16231, 16257, 16509, 17197, 17285 and 18346, which is written on a collar or side label.

      The jackets were sold at Steve & Barrys University Sportswear stores nationwide from January 2004 through December 2005 for between $6 and $10.

      Consumers should remove the drawstrings to eliminate the hazard or return the garment to the store where purchased for a refund.

      "Forever-Glo Nite Lites" Recalled

      American Tack & Hardware Co. Inc. is recalling about 35,000 "Forever-Glo Nite Lites" because of a fire and burn hazard.

      An electrical short circuit in the night light can cause it to overheat and smolder or melt which can burn consumers or result in a fire.

      The company has received nine reports of incidents involving the recalled nite lites smoking, burning, melting and/or charring. No injuries have been reported.

      The recalled "Forever-Glo Nite Lites" look like small picture frames that plug into the wall. Only model numbers 75001 or 75002 with a manufacture date of April 2004 or later are included in this recall.

      Model 75001 is white or bronze-colored and has molded scroll-work around the front of the nite lite. "Model 75001" is printed on the back of the nite lite. Model 75002 is silver-colored and has a punched tin frame. "Model C8A5" is printed on the back. Both nite lite models measure about 3 inches by 3 inches and are about inch thick. "AmerTac" and a circle with the month and year of manufacture are indicated on the back of the nite lites.

      The lights were sold at hardware stores, lighting showrooms and home centers nationwide from May 2004 through December 2005 for about $3.

      Consumers should stop using the recalled nite lites immediately. If the units are plugged into the wall, turn off the power at the circuit box and remove the light from the wall socket and contact the firm for a full refund or two free replacement nite lites.

      Forever-Glo Nite Lites Recalled...

      1992-1995 GM Truck Recall

      May 25, 2006
      The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has ordered the recall of 7,800 General Motors trucks built between 1992 and 1995 because a replacement fuel injection system sold for the vehicles may develop a fuel leak.

      NHTSA warns that a fuel leak could result in a fire.

      The vehicles involved are the 1992-1995 Chevrolet Astro and Blazer, GMC Jimmy, S Series, Safari, Sonoma, the 1992-1993 GMC Typhoon, and the 1992-1995 Oldsmobile Bravada.

      The fuel return line in the injection system has a mechanical bleed valve which was not installed at the proper torque level.

      The recall only involves R&B Inc. fuel lines and not original equipment. Owners may contact NHTSA as 1-888-327-4236.

      Ibanez Electric Basses Recalled

      Hoshino USA Inc. is recalling about 700 Ibanez Basses. If the battery is improperly installed, the bass can overheat causing internal damage and a fire hazard.

      The firm has received three reports of the bass not working due to improper battery installation. There have been no reports of injuries or property damage.

      This recall involves 2005 and 2006 Ibanez Soundgear, Roadgear and Gary Willis series basses. Model numbers are located on the back of the headstock. Models included in this recall are:

      Children's Cloth Books Recalled by Simon & Schuster

      Simons & Schuster is recalling about 9,000 "Curious Buddies" children's books. The felt ears and limbs on the pop-up characters can detach or come apart when pulled, which may pose a choking hazard to young children.

      Simon & Schuster has received reports of two 6-month-old infants who detached felt from the pop-up parts of the book. One child was able to mouth the torn material. No injuries have been reported.

      This recall involves Curious Buddies cloth books titled "Hello, Curious Buddies!" Pictured on the cover of the books are the Curious Buddies characters. Inside the book are two plush pop-up toy characters.

      The books were sold at bookstores, discount department stores and other retailers nationwide from October 2005 through May 2006 for about $10.

      Consumers should immediately clip off the felt ears and limbs of the pop-up characters and place them out of a child's reach. Simon and Schuster will provide consumers with information on how to return the felt pieces or the copyright tag from the book to receive a free replacement book.

      Phil & Teds Twin Strollers

      Regal Lager Inc. is recalling about 425 Phil & Teds e3 twin strollers. The plastic hinge on the handlebar can crack or break causing the handlebar to detach while in use. This poses a risk of injury to young children.

      Regal Lager has received two reports from consumers of the handlebars breaking. No injuries were reported.

      The recalled Phil & Teds e3 twin buggy has a metal frame and side by side cloth seats. The strollers were sold in a variety of colors including red, orange, black, charcoal grey and navy. "e3 twin" is embroidered on the front of each seat and the Phil & Teds logo is printed on the crotch piece of each harness.

      The strollers were sold by Web retailers, baby furniture and baby product stores nationwide from November 2005 through March 2006 for about $650.

      Phil & Teds Twin Strollers...

      Dollar General Water Watches

      Almar Sales Co. is recalling about 50,000 water watches sold at Dollar General stores.

      The band on the watch contains liquid petroleum distillates. If punctured the watch band could leak. Petroleum distillates could be harmful if ingested and cause irritation to the skin or eyes on contact.

      CPSC and Almar Sales Co. have received one report of a 2-year-old child who ingested the petroleum distillate after biting into the watch band. The child suffered irritation of the mouth and throat.

      The watches are made of clear plastic with white snaps. The watch bands have clear glitter-filled liquid and colored liquid inside including pink, blue, red and yellow. The watch face is digital and measures about two inches in width. Water Watch and Almar Sales Company is printed on the original clear bubble packaging of the watches.

      The watches were sold exclusively at Dollar General Stores nationwide from March 2005 through July 2005 for about $2.

      Consumers should immediately take these watches away from young children and return the watches to the store where purchased for a refund or contact the firm.

      NHTSA Opens Ford Expedition Investigation

      Land Rover Malfunction Lamp Malfunction Also Probed

      June 21, 2005
      The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has opened an investigation into a potential defect affecting windshield wipers on the Ford Expedition. The problem could affect about 650,000 vehicles from the 1999 to 2001 model years.

      NHTSA has received 20 complaints about allegations that water leaking into the vehicle near the windshield during rain or snow showers has caused the wipers and other electrical components to malfunction.

      Ford is cooperating with the investigation in an attempt to learn what is causing the problems. There have been no injuries or accidents associated with the issue.

      NHTSA is also investigating potential problems involving the malfunction indicator lamp in the 2004. Land Rover is part of Ford's Premier Automotive Group.

      There are reports of the malfunctioning indicator lamp in the onboard display near the dashboard failing to illuminate. The investigation could involve nearly 51,000 vehicles.

      An investigation can be the first step in the recall process.



      NHTSA Opens Ford Expedition Investigation...

      Waterless Vaporizers and Aromatherapy Diffusers

      November 17, 2005
      Vapor-Eze Waterless Vaporizers and Vapor-Eze Aromatherapy Diffusers distributed by Juvenile Products Corp., of Miami, Fla., are being recalled.

      A defective internal heater can cause sparking and emit flames while in use. This poses a fire, burn and shock hazard to consumers.

      There have been reports of 25 incidents involving these products, including at least six fires and two reports of burn injuries. In one incident, a young child was hospitalized with burns to the face and hands and smoke inhalation. In another incident, a consumer suffered a burned foot.

      The recalled waterless vaporizers are white plastic with vents. The aromatherapy diffusers are ivory plastic with vents. Both are 5-inches wide by 3 -inches high. Vapor-Eze, and Waterless Vaporizer are written on the top of the vaporizer. Vapor-Eze and Aromatic Therapy are written on the top of the diffuser. Model 1070, 2070 or 3070 and Juv. Prods. Corp are printed on the bottom of the units. UPC Code 015715910701, 015715010008, 000157159104 or 0157150010145 is printed on the packaging.

      The units were sold at discount department and drug stores, including Wal-Mart, from June 2005 through September 2005 for about $20.

      Consumers should stop using the recalled waterless vaporizer and aromatherapy diffuser immediately and return them to the place of purchase for a full refund.

      NHTSA Recalls Triumph Motorcycles

      June 15, 2005
      The National Highway Traffic Administration (NHTSA) has ordered Triumph Motorcycles of America to recall the popular Daytona motorcycle and several other models because a cooling system failure could cause the engine to seize and lead to a crash.

      Also recalled are the Triumph Speed Triple, Sprint and Sprint with ABS.

      NHTSA reports that on some of the motorcycles the lower by-pass coolant hose can rupture. The loss of coolant from the engine could result in overheating and seizure.

      Dealers will replace the coolant hose in July. Triumph Motorcycle owners should contact the company at 1-678-854-2010.

      Lovs Decorated Orthodontic Pacifier

      May 12, 2005
      About 180,000 Lovs Decorated Orthodontic Pacifiers are being recalled. They failed federal safety tests when the nipples separated from the base. This poses a choking hazard to young children.

      There has been one report of a 6-month-old child who was found gagging on the nipple that had separated from the pacifier. The child was not injured.

      The recalled pacifier measures about 2-1/4 inches in width and 1-1/2 inches in length and has button or hinged handles. The pacifiers are white with various colored handles. Designs are imprinted on some pacifier shields.

      One pacifier shield is decorated with a pink elephant, a purple giraffe with green polka dots, a blue lion with yellow fur and a blue cloud and yellow sun. Another pacifier shield has blue stars with Santa shapes. The amber colored nipple, imprinted with the words caoui, chouc and pur, is about 1-1/8 inches long. Lov 2-Pack, Decorated Orthodontic Pacifier, and 99705 are printed on the front packaging of the pacifiers. Delta Enterprise Corp., Brooklyn NY 11212 Made in Thailand is printed on the package back.

      The pacifiers were sold at small retail stores from November 2001 through December 2004 for about $1.

      Consumers should discard the pacifiers and contact the firm for instructions on how to obtain a refund or replacement product.

      Lovs Decorated Orthodontic Pacifier...

      Martha Stewart Flowerpot Candles

      April 20, 2005
      Martha Stewart Everyday sunny meadow four-piece sanded votive candle sets are being recalled.

      These candles can have a high flame, posing a risk of burn injuries to consumers. Kmart has received one report of a high flame with these candles. No injuries were reported.

      These scented, flowerpot-shaped candles are about 2.5-inches high and have a sand coating. They were sold in two different four-piece sets. One set containing three candles of different shades of green and one ivory candle with code number KMS8428 and UPC number 7 50197 88428 9. The other set contains a blue, white, orange and cream colored candle with code number KMS8427 and UPC number 7 50197 88427 2. The code numbers and UPC can be found in the white box on the bottom of the packaging. Other writing on the packaging includes, MARTH STEWART everyday and sunny meadow.

      The candles were sold at Kmart stores nationwide from April 2004 through January 2005 for about $6.

      Consumers should stop using these candles immediately and contact Global Gift Industries to request a free replacement product, or return them to any Kmart store for a full refund.

      Giant Bicycle Recalls Cypress, Sedona Models

      Giant Bicycle, Inc. is recalling its 2005 Cypress and models. The rear axle on the bicycle is harder than required by the manufacturers specification and could crack.

      The recall involves certain 2005 Cypress and Sedona model bicycles. The bicycles come in both mens and ladies styles and vary in size between 14 to 21 inches. GIANT and Cypress or Sedona are written on the bicycles frames. A serial number is written on the bottom bracket of the bicycle, located near the pedals. A list of the serial numbers that are the subject of this recall is at www.giant-bicycle.com/us.

      Authorized Giant Bicycle dealers nationwide may have sold bicycles with affected axles after May 16, 2005 for about $300

      Consumers should stop riding these bicycles immediately and contact Giant Bicycle if they have a recalled bicycle. Giant Bicycle will replace the rear wheel (including the rear axle) of recalled bicycles for free.

      Honda Recalls 2006 Civic to Fix Accelerator Pedal

      November 11, 2005
      Honda Motor Co. is recalling 25,000 Civics because the accelerator pedal was improperly installed on some 2006 models. Most of the 25,298 vehicles under recall in the United States have not yet been sold.

      An improperly installed accelerator pedal can come loose and cause the throttle to stick. There there are no crashes or injuries linked to the issue.

      A dealer inspecting the vehicles discovered the problem in late September and reported it to the automaker, leading to an internal Honda investigation.
