    Target Recalls Pillar Candles With Jewels

    Target is recalling about 17,000 pillar candles with jewels. The paint coating on the outside of the candle can ignite, posing a fire hazard.

    The candles measure about 3-inches in diameter and come in two sizes 3-inches and 6-inches high. Each candle has a black paint coating and has eight diamond-like ornaments at evenly spaced points approximately 1-inch from the candles bottom edge. They are packaged in clear plastic wrapping which is tied at the top with a ribbon. Distributed by Target Corporation and the number 054 09 1533 or 054 09 2528 are printed on a label on the bottom of each candle.

    The candles were sold at Target stores nationwide during the month of August 2005 for about $5 or $8 depending on the size.

    Consumers should stop using the candles immediately and return them to the nearest Target store for a Target GiftCard worth the value of the returned candle.

    Target Recalls Pillar Candles With Jewels...

    JCPenney Recalls Cooks Outdoor Grills

    JCPenney is recalling more than 5,000 Cooks Outdoor grills. The drip pan on the grill does not allow for adequate drainage, posing fire and burn hazards to consumers.

    The firm has received 11 reports of fires resulting from inadequate drainage. No injuries reported.

    This recall involves Cooks brand outdoor BBQ grills. The grill has a digital thermometer on the hood, stainless steel top and a global LP regulator. Lot number 780-2176 is printed on the underside of the grills stand.

    The grills, made in China, were sold at JCPenney stores nationwide and online at www.jcp.com from February 2009 through September 2009 for between $190 and $600.

    Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled grills. To ensure the grills are not useable, consumers should remove the gas regulator and hose assembly. All consumers (whether they purchased the item online or at a JCPenney retail stores) should return the regulator and hose to the Catalog/Customer Service Desk at any JCPenney store for a full refund. Consumers should contact JCPenney for instructions on how to disconnect the gas regulator and hose.

    State Farm Recalls 'Good Neigh Bears'

    State Farm is recalling about 800,000 "Good Neigh Bears" because they eyes can come off, posing a choking hazard to young children. Nearly 30,000 of the bears are being recalled in Canada.

    State Farm received one report of the plastic eye of a bear coming off and a child placing it in her mouth. No injuries have been reported.

    This recall involves the 11-inch (28 cm) and 18-inch (46 cm) State Farm Good Neigh Bears with plastic eyes. The bears are brown and wear a white and red State Farm shirt.

    The bears, made in China, were given away free through State Farm agents and at State Farm sponsored events from September 2005 through March 2007.

    Consumers should immediately take these bears away from young children and discard them.

      Louisiana-Pacific Recalls Composite Decks

      Louisiana-Pacific is recalling 48 million linear feet of composite decking. The recalled decking can prematurely deteriorate and unexpectedly break. Consumers can fall through broken decking and suffer serious injuries.

      LP has received 37 reports of composite decks breaking, resulting in 14 injuries, including a broken wrist, sprained ankle, minor lacerations and bruises.

      The recall includes outdoor deck board and railings sold under the brand names LP WeatherBest, ABTCo., and Veranda. They are composite products that look similar to natural wood and were sold in various colors including Tuscan Walnut/Chestnut, Driftwood Grey/Greystone, Pacific Cedar and Western Redwood. Veranda decking products were manufactured by multiple firms; only products manufactured by LP are included in this recall.

      The decking was sold at The Home Depot (Veranda brand) and building product dealers (LP WeatherBest and ABTCo. brands) nationwide from January 2005 to August 2008 for between $1.50 and $2.25 per linear foot.

      Consumers with the recalled decking should immediately contact LP for a free inspection. If the decking is affected by premature deterioration, LP will arrange for a free replacement.

      Pottery Barn Kids Recalls Wooden Dog Pull Toys

      WASHINGTON, Feb. 6, 2001 -- Pottery Barn Kids is voluntarily recalling about 2,900 wooden dog pull toys. Wooden pegs can come off of these pull toys, posing a choking hazard to young children. Pottery Barn Kids has received a report of one peg coming off of the toy. No injuries have been reported.

      The recall is being conducted in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).

      The wooden dog pull toy is about 10 inches long and about 5 inches high. The dog's legs are attached to wooden wheels with small pegs. A black string with a large wooden ball on the end is connected to the front of the toy. There is no writing on the toy.

      The Pottery Barn Kids store in Corte Madera, Calif., and Pottery Barn Outlet stores in Virginia, Texas, Georgia, Tennessee and Ohio sold these pull toys from June 2000 through January 2001 for about $6.

      Fluke Recalls Digital Meters

      Fluke Corp. is recalling about 52,000 digital clamp meters. The meters can fail to give an appropriate voltage reading, resulting in the operator falsely believing the electrical power is off, posing a shock, electrocution, or thermal burn hazard.

      Fluke has received three reports of clamp meters displaying an incorrect voltage reading. No injuries have been reported.

      This recall involves Fluke Digital Clamp Meters with model and serial numbers listed below. The model number may be followed by an "A."

      Serial numbers that begin with "S" or are followed by "R" are not included in the recall. "Fluke" and the model number are printed on the front of the unit and the serial number on the back. The instrument body is yellow, red, and black. The clamp meters measure 0 to 600 volts alternating current (VAC), 0 to 600 volts direct current (VDC) and 0 to 400, 600 or 1000 amps alternating current.

      The meters, made in China, were sold at industrial distributors, electrical wholesalers and some hardware stores nationwide from January 2008 through February 2009 for between $150 and $375.

      dlite ST and Solo ST Child Trailers Recalled

      Burley Design LLC is recalling about 2,700 dlite ST and Solo ST child trailers.

      The axle assemblys internal sleeve can loosen, causing one wheel to separate from the trailer. This poses a risk of injury to the child occupant or bike rider.

      The recalled products are two-wheeled child trailers designed to carry one or two children behind a bicycle. Only the 2009 dlite ST and 2009 Solo ST trailers with serial numbers that begin with D939 or D948 are included in the recall. The serial number is located in the rear cargo area behind the seat on the lower left rear frame tube. The trailers have dlite ST or solo ST screen printed on the cover.

      The trailers were sold by independent bicycle retailers and specialty outdoor retailers nationwide and on various web sites from November 2008 through June 2009 for between $550 and $600.

      Consumers should stop using the trailer immediately and contact Burley to receive a free repair kit or to locate a retailer to assist with the free repair.

      Vicks Dayquil Cold & Flu Liquicaps are beint recalled by Procter & Gamble because they fail to meet the child-resistant closure requirement.

      The recall includes about 700,000 packages.

      The cold and flu medicine contains acetaminophen and is not in child-resistant packaging and lacks the statement, This Package for Households Without Young Children, as required by the Poison Prevention Packaging Act. This medicine could cause serious health problems or death to a child if several of the capsules are swallowed.

      The recall involves Vicks Dayquil Cold & Flu 24-Count Bonus Pack Liquicaps. The medicine comes in orange packaging with the green Vicks symbol and has the following UPC#: 3 23900 01087 1. No other Vicks product is included in this recall.

      The liquicaps were sold at drug stores, grocery stores and other retailers nationwide between September 2008 and December 2009 for about $5. They were made in Canada.

      Consumers should keep this product out of the reach of children. Consumers who purchased the product with the expectation that it would be in child-resistant packaging can contact Procter & Gamble for a full refund or a replacement coupon. Adult consumers can continue to use the product as directed.

      About 30,000 LG 830 "Spyder" Cell Phones are being recalled because they can have difficulty sustaining a connection or have poor voice quality on calls to emergency 911.

      The firm has received one report of a motorist in a disabled car who was able to dial 911, but the call was dropped because the network had difficulty establishing a GPS lock on the phone. No injuries have been reported.

      The recall involves LG 830 "Spyder" touch-screen slider cell phones with software versions T83LGV03 and T83LGV04, which were sold for use with the following regional wireless carriers: Cellular South, Cellcom, Bluegrass Cellular, Centennial de Puerto Rico, Appalachian Wireless, Illinois Valley Cellular, Northwest Missouri Cellular, Inland Cellular, Leaco, Golden State Cellular, Thumb Cellular, Silver Star Communications, and Nex-Tech Wireless.

      The cell phone model number can be found underneath the battery. The software version can be verified by going into the menu of the cell phone, selecting "Settings" then "Phone Information" then "Version." No other LG cell phones, software versions or wireless carriers are included in this recall.

      The phones were sold at various cellular dealers in Alabama, Alaska, Idaho, Kentucky, Mississippi, Puerto Rico, Tennessee, Washington State and Wisconsin from September 2008 through November 2008 for about $200. They were made in Korea.

      Blair Recalls Women's Chenille Robes

      Blair LLC is recalling about 162,000 full-length women's chenille robes. Some robes fail to meet federal flammability requirements and present a risk of serious burns to consumers if they are exposed to an open flame.

      Blair has received three reports of the robes catching on fire, including one report of second-degree burns.

      The recall involves the Full Length Womens Chenille Robe with the following item numbers: 3093111, 3093112, 3093113, 3093114, 3093115, and 3093116. The item number is identified on a label in the garments neckline. This is a one-piece garment made of plush sculpted chenille, a shaped stand collar, and horizontal chenille front and back yolks and cuffs. The robe has a full-button front with seven matching button closures, long sleeves with self cuffs, a straight bottom with self hem, and two sideseam pockets. The robes sewn in label states: 100% Cotton, RN 81700, Made in Pakistan. Robes with other item numbers are not included in the recall.

      The robes, made in Pakistan, were sold through Blair catalogs and Web site, and Blair stores in Warren, Pa., Grove City, Pa., and Wilmington, Del., from January 2003 through March 2009 from about $20 to $40.

      Consumers should stop wearing the garment immediately. Contact Blair LLC for information on returning the robe and to receive a refund or a $50 gift card for Blair merchandise.

      HMI Industries is recalling about 44,000 Majestic 360 floor cleaners. The cleaners' wiring can overheat, causing electrical arcing and melting. This poses a burn hazard to consumers.

      HMI has received 40 reports of overheating and damage to carpets. No injuries have been reported.

      The recalled floor cleaner is a black-colored, canister-style vacuum with a powered floor tool. The words "Majestic 360" and "FILTERQUEEN" are printed on a label located on the unit.

      The cleaners, made in the United States, were sold through independent distributors nationwide from September 2004 through August 2006 for about $1800.

      Consumers should stop using the recalled floor cleaners immediately and contact the firm to arrange for a free repair at an authorized repair center.

      Volkswagen Recalls 2009 CCs

      Volkswagen is recalling about 5,000 CC vehicles from the 2009 model year because of a possible problem with the right front passenger seat belt buckle wiring harness.

      The company said the wires could be damaged by seat movement, causing the passenger's frontal air bag to be deactivated.

      Dealers will inspect and, if necessary, replace the wiring harness. Owners may contact VW at 1-800-822-8987.

      Downeast Concepts Inc. is recalling about 18,000 water bottles. Surface paint on the metal water bottles contains excessive levels of lead, violating the federal lead paint standard.


      Backyard and Beyond brand water bottles with model numbers 67402, 67404, 67442, 67444, 67742, 60442, 67744, 67746, 67748 and 60448 printed on the hang tag. The metal water bottles have a black plastic sip-top and were sold in green, pink or blue with assorted animal or insect graphics on the exterior.

      The bottles, made in China, were sold at mMajor retailers, gift shops, convenience stores, mass merchandise and drug stores nationwide from February 2006 through February 2008 for about $8.

      Consumers should immediately take the recalled water bottles away from children and return it to the store where purchased for a refund.

      Mother Hubbard's Cupboards is recalling about 1,300 cribs.

      The cribs fail to meet the federal safety standards. The distance between the mattress support bracket in the lowest position and the top of the side rail in the highest position is less than the required 26 inches, posing a fall hazard to children who climb over the railing.

      The recall includes the following wooden full-size cribs: 'Enchantment' (model #210), 'Hush a Bye' (model #215), 'Once upon a time' (model #320) and 'Rock a bye' (model #1900-350). Only date codes from 0306 through 0308 are included in this recall. 'Mother Hubbard's Cupboards', the model number and date code are printed on a label located on the bottom inside of the right side.

      The cribs were sold from March 2006 through March 2008 for between $500 and $650. They were made in Canada.

      Consumers should stop using the cribs immediately and contact Mother Hubbard's Cupboards to receive instructions on how to re-install the support brackets to eliminate the hazard.

      Arctic Cat Prowler XT Off-Highway Utility Vehicle

      Arctic Cat Inc. is recalling its Prowler XT Off-Highway Utility Vehicle. The brakes can fail.

      Arctic Cat has received notice of one incident of a brake pad dislodging from the rear caliper, and one incident of foot brake lever flexing. No injuries have been reported.

      The Prowler XT was produced in three colors: Green, Cat Green, and Red. The vehicles have the words Arctic Cat on each side of the cargo box, 650 H1 on each side of the front hood, and the name Prowler XT centered on the front of the hood. The recalled units fall within the vehicle identification range (VIN) of 4UF06MPV06T300001 through 4UF06MPV86T300781. Consumers only need to look at the final six digits of the VIN to determine if their vehicle is included in this recall.

      These vehicles were sold worldwide through Arctic Cat dealerships from July 2005 through September 2005 for between $9,000 and $9,500.

      Consumers should stop using these vehicles immediately. The vehicle identification number is located on the rear upper frame tube of the vehicle near the rear of the cargo box, and on the registration materials the consumer received at time of purchase.       Target is recalling about 365,000 dive sticks. The dive sticks could remain in an upright position, posing an impalement hazard to young children. CPSC banned pre-weighted dive sticks in 2001.

      The recalled dive sticks were sold in a bundle of three in multiple colors: light blue, aqua green, fluorescent yellow, royal blue, and red. The tag accompanying the dive sticks contains: 'Dive Toys' or 'Diving Game' and has a white small parts warning label in the upper right hand corner. The words 'Made in China' are printed in the lower right hand corner.

      The sticks, made in China, were sold exclusively at Target stores nationwide from April 2008 through August 2008 for about $1.

      Consumers should take the recalled dive sticks away from young children immediately and return them to any Target store for a full refund.

      Earth Friendly Recalls Wooden Toys

      Earth Friendly LLC is recalling about 1,000 wooden toys. Small parts can detach and break off the toys, posing a choking hazard to young children. In addition, the size of the rattle handle violates voluntary rattle standards.

      This recall involves three models of wooden toys. Moee the car, Cubby the stackable bear and the Bell rattle. The toys are painted in glossy red, orange, green, red, black and yellow.

      Toy specialty stores in Alaska, California, Colorado, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, and Washington sold the toys from April 2008 through September 2008 for between $12 and $22. They were made in India.

      Consumers should immediately take the recalled toys away from children and contact Earth Friendly to exchange or refund the product.

      Land Rover Recalls SUVs to Fix Park-Lock Problem

      Land Rover is recalling about 2,000 SUVs because of a possible defect in the automatic transmission parking guide plate, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) said.

      The potential problem is that park may not engage when the driver moves the vehicles lever into park, even though all indicators show that the vehicle is in park. As a result, if the vehicle was parked on an incline and the parking brake was not engaged, it could roll away.

      This recall affects 2006 Land Rover LR3, the Land Rover/Range Rover, and the Land Rover/ Range Rover Sport.

      The recall is expected to begin on November 30, 2005. Consumers should contact Land Rover at 1-800-637-6837 for a free replacement of the parking pawl guide plate.

      Kenmore Wall Ovens Recalled

      Frigidaire Canada is recalling about 7,500 Kenmore wall ovens. During extended broiling, gas can build in the oven cavity and escape when the oven door is opened. This poses a burn and possible fire hazard to consumers.

      Electrolux has received 16 reports of incidents involving gas build-up, including flames escaping from the oven door, burns to the hands and face and singed hair.

      This recall involves Kenmore 24-inch-wide gas and propane, wall-mounted ovens. The self-cleaning ovens were sold in white, black, bisque and stainless steel, and have the Kenmore name printed on the oven control panel. The model and serial numbers of the ovens that are part of this recall can be found on the frame on the left side of the oven cavity.

      Fingerhut Recalls Chefs Mark Cookware Sets

      Fingerhut is recalling about 9,000 sets of Chef's Mark cookware sets. The handles on the cookware can break, posing a burn hazard to consumers.

      Fingerhut has received six reports of handles breaking including three reports of minor burn injuries to consumers.

      This recall involves Chefs Mark 15-piece cookware sets with model number 515 and Fingerhut product code H6637. The model number and product code are printed on the cookwares packaging. The non-stick cookware has red, green, black, blue or purple exteriors, black handles, glass lids and came with spoons, spatulas and ladles.

      It was made in China and sold exclusively by Fingerhut catalogs and Fingerhut.com from January 2008 through October 2008 for about $80.

      Consumers should stop using the cookware immediately and contact Fingerhut to receive a free repair kit. Fingerhut is directly contacting purchasers.
