    Infantino Recalls Infant Teethers Due to Choking Hazard

    Infantino is recalling about 28,000 of its "Lion" teethers. The plastic nose can detach, posing a choking hazard to young children.

    Infantino has received eight reports of the nose detaching, including one report of a child gagging on the bitten-off nose.

    This recall involves Infantino lion teethers. The yellow and orange plastic teethers have date codes 6116, 6129, 6158, 6137, 0606, 0806, 0906, and 1006. The date codes are located on the back of the lions head, above the Infantino logo. Lion teethers with other date codes are not included in this recall.

    The teethers were sold at Babies R Us, Pottery Barn Kids and other specialty stores nationwide from June 2006 through December 2007 for about $5. They were made in China.

    Consumers should take the recalled toys away from young children immediately and contact Infantino for a replacement teether or a product of equal value.

    Eveready Recalls 'Pirates of the Caribbean' Flashlights

    Eveready Battery Co. is recalling about 79,000 'Pirates of the Caribbean' medallion squeeze flashlights. Surface paints on the leather strap attached to the medallion squeeze light contain excessive levels of lead, violating the federal lead paint standard.

    The recall involves 'Pirates of the Caribbean' medallion squeeze lights, which is gold-colored and about 1'-inches across. It is attached to a leather strap and metal clasp.

    The items were sold at various retail stores and Web sites nationwide from September 2006 through October 2007 for between $4 and $6. They were made in China.

    Consumers should take the recalled squeeze light away from children immediately and contact the firm to receive a voucher for another Energizer-brand product.

    Super Magnet Toys Recalled

    Super Magnet toys are being recalled because of aspiration and intestinal hazards.

    The magnet attached to the bottom of a small toy panda can detach. If swallowed or aspirated by young children, the magnets can attract each other internally and cause intestinal perforations or blockages, which can be fatal.

    The 1/2-inch toys are shaped and painted to resemble panda bears. A small magnet is attached to the bottom of the toy. Super Magnets and the MTC logo are printed on the front of the packaging. The magnet toys are sold eight to a package.

    The toys were sold at dollar and gift stores nationwide from September 2005 through November 2007 for about $1. They were made in China.

    Consumers should take the recalled toy away from children immediately and return them to the store where purchased for a full refund.

      Log Splitter Recall Expanded

      Brave Products Inc. is expanding an earlier recall of its log splitters.

      The log splitters hydraulic cylinders can have defective rod retention, causing the seals to leak and the rods to detach. This can result in serious injury to the operator, as the rod can rapidly and unexpectedly extend the splitting wedge.

      Brave Products has received 59 additional reports of leaking cylinders and/or rod retention failure. One consumer reported a hand amputation that could have been caused by this cylinder defect.

      The log splitters are made of steel and painted orange and black, or blue and black. They have trailer hitches and rubber tires. Each log splitter has a decal on the side that reads Brave Products, Inc. or Iron & Oak and __ ton (either 15, 22, 26, or 34). The following Brave Products or Iron & Oak models are included in the recall:

      The serial number is located on the hydraulic tank.

      The splitters were sold at Ace, True Value, and Do It Best Hardware stores and independent power equipment dealers nationwide from January 2002 through October 2004, and from May 2006 through April 2007, for between $900 and $2,000.

      They were manufactured in the United States.

      Nautilus Bowflex Ultimate 2 Home Gyms Recalled

      Nautilus Inc. is recalling about 68,000 Bowflex Ultimate 2 Home Gyms. The fasteners used to secure the rod box to the frame of the equipment can come loose, allowing the resistance rods or rod box to separate and strike the user or a bystander.

      Nautilus has received ten reports of rod box separation, including three reports of consumers suffering bruised arms, sore elbows, and a sore back.

      The recalled home gyms are equipped with pulleys, resistance rods, and other equipment, which allow the user to perform a variety of exercises. 'Bowflex Ultimate 2' is written on the vertical part of the frame.

      The gyms, made in the United States, were sold by specialty fitness retailers nationwide and through direct sales from June 2005 to August 2007 for about $2,300.

      Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled home gym until a repair kit is installed. Registered owners are being sent a free repair kit. Owners who have not received a repair kit by the end of the first week in January 2008 should contact the firm.

      Jeff Gordon Mini Racing Helmets Recalled

      Riddell Inc. is recalling about 2,500 Jeff Gordon mini helmets. Surface paints on the recalled helmets contain excessive levels of lead, violating the federal lead paint standard.

      The recalled product is a six-inch tall, collectible, miniature helmet, modeled after the helmet worn by race car driver Jeff Gordon. The helmet is red and blue with a black visor, and is painted with various sponsor logos and playing cards. The UPC number 095855720029 is located on the bottom of the products packaging. No other Riddell mini helmet models are included in this recall.

      The helmets, made in China, were sold at Academy stores and other retailers nationwide, as well as the Web site, www.nascar.com, from February 2007 through October 2007 for about $40.

      Consumers should take the recalled helmets away from young children immediately and contact Riddell to receive a full refund.

      Reclining Lounge Chairs Sold at Menard Stores

      Reclining lounge chairs sold at Menard Stores are being recalled because they can collapse.

      Faulty support brackets and/or weak frames can cause the chairs to collapse, posing a fall and severe laceration hazard to consumers.

      The manufacturer, Yotrio International LLC, of Orinda, Calif., has received one report of a chair collapsing causing to the consumer to fall to the ground. No injuries have been reported.

      This recall involves Rockingham deluxe reclining lounge chairs. The folding lounge chairs have an orange mesh covering that attaches to a steel frame by a woven cord. The high-back chairs measure 40-inches long by 28-inches wide by 46-inches high and have a padded headrest. A hangtag attached to the chair reads in part 'Backyard Creations' and 'Deluxe Rockingham Reclining Chair.'

      The chairs were sold at Menard stores from March 2007 through May 2007 for between $40 and $60.

      They were manufactured in China.

      Consumers should stop using the recalled chairs immediately and return them to the store where purchased for a full refund.

      Stuffed "Fun Balls" Recalled

      Regent Products Corp. is recalling stuffed "Fun Balls." The stuffed balls contain lead paint, which is toxic if ingested by young children and can cause adverse health effects.

      The Fun Ball is an orange stuffed ball toy that measures 4 inches in diameter and designed to look like a basketball. The ball is printed with colored numbers, letters and ?Reg. #PA-10623(HK).

      The balls were sold at Dollar stores and other discount stores nationwide from June, 2006 through March, 2007 for about $1.

      Consumers should take these balls away from young children immediately and return the toy to the store where purchased for a refund.

      Mag Stix Recalled After Serious Intestinal Injury

      Kipp Brothers is recalling about 800 Mag Stix magnetic building sets after a serious intestinal injury.

      Small magnets inside the plastic sticks can fall out. Magnets found by young children can be swallowed or aspirated. If more than one magnet is swallowed, the magnets can attract each other and cause intestinal perforation or blockage, which can be fatal.

      Safety regulators have received one report of an eight-year-old girl who was hospitalized after swallowing loose magnets. Extensive surgery was required to remove the magnets and repair intestinal perforations.

      The recalled Mag Stix sets contain 24 pieces including twelve 1-inch sticks, four 2.25-inch sticks, and eight metal balls. The sticks are yellow, green, blue and rust-colored. Item No. 40330 Made in China and UPC number 7 7704 40330 1 are printed on the packaging.

      The sets were sold at Kipp Brothers showroom, Fall 2005 catalog and Web site (order # NB8141) from September 2005 through March 2006 for about $3.

      Coldwater Creek Recalls Sweaters

      Coldwater Creek is recalling about 3,500 sweaters because of a burn hazard.

      The sweaters fail to meet federal flammability requirements. Should the sweater come in contact with an ignition source, such as a stove burner, candle flame or cigarette lighter, it could catch fire and cause serious burns to consumers.

      This recall involves Coldwater Creek shawl collar sweaters in red only. The textured yarn sweaters were sold in sizes XS through 3X. A tag sewn into the neck of the sweater displays the Coldwater Creek brand logo.

      The sweaters were sold by the Coldwater Creek catalog and coldwatercreek.com from November 2006 through May 2007 for $62.

      They were manufactured in Hong Kong.

      Consumers should stop wearing the sweater and return it to Coldwater Creek for a refund, including tax and postage. The company will provide consumers with a $20 coupon towards another purchase.

      Family Dollar Recalls Oscillating Ceramic Heater

      Family Dollar Stores is recalling about 35,000 oscillating ceramic heaters. The heaters can overheat and smoke, which could pose a fire hazard to consumers.

      Family Dollar has received three reports of the heaters overheating or smoking. There are no reports of fires and two reports of minor property damage.

      The recalled heater is a 1500 watt oscillating ceramic heater. The heater has a white plastic housing with the name "Heat-Wave" in black on its top. A label on the product contains the control number "ETL 3090262."

      The heaters were sold at Family Dollar stores nationwide from September 2006 through November 2006 for about $20.

      Consumers should immediately stop using the heaters and return them to a Family Dollar store for a full refund.

      About 125,000 lounge chairs sold at Dick's Sporting Goods are being recalled. The plastic support brackets can break and cause the chairs to collapse.

      Dicks Sporting Goods has received 19 reports of the chairs and recliners collapsing, including 17 injuries involving lacerations and back pains.

      This recall involves the Lazy Lounger chair (Style # CEH00415), recliner (Style # CEH00320) and oversize recliner (Style # CEH00414, CEH00345, and CEH00443). Style numbers are printed on the packaging. The chairs have a mesh covering that attaches to a black or tan metal frame by a woven cord. The mesh covering is sold in: blue, orange, black, natural, burgundy, pink, white, green, red, khaki, and camouflage. A padded headrest pillow is sewn on to the mesh. Beneath the padded headrest are two tags. The first reads: ! WARNING !, followed by 9 numbered statements, and Made in China. The second is the Do Not Remove Under Penalty of Law tag and includes the manufacturers Registration No: OHIO36462HK.

      The chairs were sold at Dicks Sporting Goods stores nationwide and www.dickssportinggoods.com from February 2006 to August 2007 for between $40 and $80.

      They were made in China.

      Consumers should stop using the chairs and recliners immediately and contact Dicks Sporting Goods for a free repair kit.

      Polaris "Outlaw" ATVs

      Polaris Industries is recalling the "Outlaw 525" ATV because of a fire hazard.

      The recalled ATVs may have a loose fuel valve within the fuel tank, which could cause a fuel leak and pose a fire hazard to riders.

      Polaris has received four reports of ATVs having a loose fuel valve. No injuries have been reported.

      The recall involves 2007 model year Polaris Outlaw 525 ATVs. They are available in black or white.

      The ATVs were sold by Polaris ATV dealers nationwide from January 2007 through May 2007 for $7,300.

      Consumers should stop operating these ATVs immediately and contact their local Polaris dealer to determine if they have a recalled unit. Polaris will provide a free fuel tank replacement for consumers with recalled units. Polaris has notified registered consumers about this recall.

      American Greetings Corp. is recalling about 60,000 DesignWare Confetti Burst packages.

      The surface paint on the individual bags of confetti contains excessive levels of lead, violating the federal lead paint standard.

      The recalled products contain confetti in plastic bags. When the bags are inflated, consumers squeeze the bag and confetti bursts out. Each package contains six confetti bursts.

      The confetti was sold at discount, toy, drug, grocery, party, and specialty/gift stores nationwide from December 2003 through September 2007 for about $3. It was made in China.

      Consumers should immediately take the recalled confetti bursts away from children and contact American Greetings for instructions on returning the confetti bursts to American Greetings to receive a coupon redeemable wherever American Greetings products are sold.

      Ross Stores Recalls Turtle Sprinklers

      Ross Stores is recalling about 1,800 turtle-shaped sprinklers. The turtles body can fill with water, causing it to crack or explode, posing a laceration hazard to consumers.

      The firm has received one report of the turtle sprinkler cracking. No injuries have been reported.

      The turtle sprinkler is made of plastic resin and measures about 6 -inches tall. The SKU number 400022708494 is printed on a label located on the underside of the sprinkler.

      The items were sold at Ross Stores and dds Discounts nationwide from March 2007 through September 2007 for about $9. They were made in China.

      Consumers should stop using the sprinkler immediately, and return it to the place of purchase for a full refund.

      Hasbro Recalls Toy Ovens

      Toymaker Hasbro has recalled 985,000 Easy-Bake toy ovens after finding that a child's hands and fingers can get caught in the oven's opening, risking serious burns.

      The Consumer Product Safety Commission has received five reports of burns amid 29 reports of children getting their hands or fingers caught in the oven's opening.

      The Easy-Bake toy ovens are made of purple and pink plastic and resemble a kitchen range with four burners on top and a front-loading oven. "Easy Bake" is printed on the front of the toy ovens that were manufactured in China.

      Model number 65805 and "Hasbro" are stamped into the plastic on the back of the oven.

      The Easy Bake Oven is an electric toy and is not recommended for children under 8 years of age. The ovens were sold at Toys R Us, Wal-Mart, Target, KB Toys and other retailers nationwide from May 2006 through February 2007. The toy costs about $25.

      Toy ovens sold before May 2006 are not included in this recall, the agency said.

      The CPSC said consumers should contact Easy-Bake between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. ET to receive a free retrofit kit with consumer warning. Additionally, consumers can contact Easy-Bake at 800-601-8418.

      Hasbro is the number two toymaker after Mattel.

      Nissan Murano Recall

      Safety regulators at the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) report that Nissan Motor Co. Ltd. is recalling 125,466 of its Murano sport-utility vehicles because of a wiring problem that could potentially cause engine failure and result in a crash.

      NHTSA says the problem is a result of a wire inside the vehicles' alternators that may break causing the battery to stop charging and the engine to stop running.

      Murano SUVS from the 2003 through 2005 model years are affected by the recall.

      About 175,000 Curious George plush dolls are being recalled by Marvel Toys. Surface paint on the toys plastic face and construction hat contain excessive levels of lead, which violates the federal lead paint standard.

      This recall involves Curious George 12-inch plush dolls with a plastic face. The dolls are dressed to represent five various themes: birthday, fireman, sweet dreams, tool time and tool time with a soft face.

      The plush dolls were sold with a Curious George storybook or activity book. The following product and SKU numbers are printed on the packaging.

      Bistro folding chair sold at Cost Plus World Market stores are being recalled.The chairs can collapse due to faulty rivets, posing a fall hazard to consumers.

      Cost Plus is aware of seven incidents in which the chairs collapsed, including one report of a minor injury.

      The metal painted folding chairs were sold in four colors, red, blue, white and green. SKU numbers 390225, 390228, 390229 and 390230 are printed on the sales receipt.

      The chairs were sold at Cost Plus World Market stores nationwide from January 2007 through June 2007 for about $50.

      They were manufactured in Taiwan.

      Consumers should stop using the recalled chairs immediately and return them to any Cost Plus World Market store for a full refund.

      Kids II is recalling about 35,000 Baby Einstein color blocks. Surface paint on the blue block contains excessive levels of lead, violating the federal lead paint standard.

      The recall involves the blue block included with the Baby Einstein Discover & Play Color Blocks, Model 30726 and Model 30881. The blocks are made of soft textures and come in different colors. Only date codes of GE7, GF7, and GG7 are included in this recall. The model number and date code are printed on the labels affixed to the green-colored block.

      The blocks were sold at various retailers and specialty stores nationwide from June 2007 through September 2007 for between $10 and $13. They were made in China.

      Consumers should take the recalled blue block away from children immediately and contact Kids II to receive a free replacement of the affected block.
