    Hammacher Schlemmer, Kensington Trading Lawn Dart Games Recalled

    John Jaques & Son is recalling lawn dart games sold by Kensington Trading Company online and Hammacher Schlemmer. The darts in the games pose a puncture hazard to young children. Lawn darts were banned in December 1988 to protect children from skull, face and eye puncture wounds.

    The recalled lawn dart game, made in China, includes four projectiles, each consisting of a 14 3/4" bamboo shaft, four fins, and a wooden tip. They were sold from March 2006 through July 2008 for about $60.

    Parents should immediately stop young children from playing with the recalled games and contact the firm to receive a refund. John Jaques & Son and Hammacher Schlemmer are contacting customers directly.

    Toy Police Cars Recalled

    TCB Imports is recalling about 3,000 toy police cars. The red paint on the toy cars contains excess levels of lead, violating the federal lead paint standard.

    This recall involves toy police cars with a friction function. When the toy car is pushed forward, the car builds momentum. When released, the car moves forward on its own. The cars were sold in red/white and purple/white color combinations. The cars measure 8 inches by 4 inches by 4 inches. Item number TF820 is printed on the product's packaging.

    The toys, made in China, were sold at dollar and discount stores nationwide from May 2008 through August 2008 for about $1.

    Consumers should immediately take this toy away from children and return it to the store where purchased for a refund.

    Playworld Systems is recalling about 17,000 swing sets. The clevis bearing on the swing set can wear, causing the swing to detach and the user to fall.

      Battat Recalls More Magnabild Sets

      Majestic, Essex, Brighton/Sussex, Captiva Cribs

      Battat Inc, is recalling about 7,000 additional Magnabild magnetic building sets. The recall is in addition to 125,000 sets recalled in January.

      Small magnets inside the building pieces can fall out. Magnets found by young children can be swallowed or aspirated. If more than one magnet is swallowed, the magnets can attract each other and cause intestinal perforations or blockages, which can be fatal.

      Battat and federal regulators have received 16 reports of magnets coming out of the building pieces. No injuries have been reported. No incidents have been reported with models BB1439 and BAT-34.

      This recall involves the 108-piece (item number BB1439H) and the 68-piece (item number BAT-34) Magnabild Magnetic Building System sets. The 108-piece set comes in a rotating display case containing sixty 1-inch rods with magnets and 48 metal balls. The 68-piece set comes in a window box and contains forty-four 1-inch rods with magnets and 24 metal balls. The rods come in different colors. All of the plastic building pieces have the word 'Magnabild' in raised lettering on them. 'BB1439H' is found on a hang tag attached to the display case. 'BAT-34' is found on the box. The products are designed for children older than three years.

      The toy sets were sold at various retailers nationwide and online sellers from July 2005 through February 2008 for between $20 and $35. They were made in China.

      Consumers should immediately take the recalled Magnabild Magnetic Building System away from children and contact Battat to receive a pre-paid mailer to return the toy and to receive a free replacement product.

      DiNotte Bicycle Light Batteries Recalled

      DiNotte Lighting is recalling about 1,700 lithium-ion batteries used with its bicycle lights. because of a burn hazard.

      A loose wiring connection and improper venting can cause the battery to overheat, posing a burn hazard to consumers.

      DiNotte Lighting Lithium-Ion battery with nylon bags are used with DiNotte 5W Li-Ion bicycle lights and DiNotte 3 LED police lights. The DiNotte logo is printed on the battery cable connector.

      The lights were sold by bicycle and recreation stores nationwide and by Internet retailers from February 2006 through March 2007 for between $200 and $400. They were made in the United States and China.

      Consumers should immediately stop using the battery and contact the company to receive a free replacement battery.

      Christmas Tree Shops is recalling about 15,000 toy wooden block and train sets. Surface paint on some pieces of the toys contains excessive levels of lead, violating the federal lead paint standard.

      The Big Wooden Blocks contain 30 or 60 colorful block pieces in 11 geometric shapes. The Jumbo Wooden Train Sets contain 70 wooden pieces including trees, stop and railroad crossing signs, a red wooden engine and green train cars.       Children's Charm Shoelace, Necklace Charms Recalled

      About 18,000 Children's Charm Craft Kits are being recalled. The clasp in the charm craft kits contains high levels of lead. Lead is toxic if ingested by young children and can cause adverse health effects.

      This recall involves 'Super Dooper Charms' (item #63403) and 'Shoelace Charms' (item #67310) children's charm craft kits. The craft kits contain components (i.e., charms, beads, wire, clasps) to assemble necklaces, jewelry accessories, or charms that can be hooked on shoelaces, backpacks, or used as zipper pulls. The item number can be found on the back of the package.

      The kits, made in China, were sold through various retailers nationwide from July 2007 through April 2008 for about $17 for the 'Super Dooper Charms' kit and $6 for the 'Shoelace Charms' kit.

      Consumers should immediately take the recalled product away from children and contact Action Products International for instructions on returning it for a free replacement.

      Honda Fit Subcompacts Recalled

      Honda is recalling 34,300 Fit subcompacts from the 2007 and 2008 model years because of a faulty wiring harness connected to the passenger side airbag sensor.

      The sensor is designed to prevent the airbags from deploying when a child is seated in the front passenger seat.

      Honda will replace the wiring harness.

      The recall covers Fits that were sold or registered in 22 U.S. states that use road salt, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

      "Salt from the snow on the driver's shoes will melt and may penetrate the carpet and leak into the wire harness," NHTSA reported. "Corrosion may occur and the wire may break, causing the SRS indicator light to illuminate."

      A short-circuit, according to NHTSA can cause the front and side airbags to deploy in a crash, even if a child is in the seat.

      This "will increase the risk of injury to small or out-of-position occupants," NHTSA reported on its Web site.

      The recall covers Honda Fits sold or registered in these states: Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia, Wisconsin and the District of Columbia.

      Rossignol Recalls Snowboard Bindings

      Rossignol is recalling about 3,500 pairs of 2007 Rossignol HC Snowboard Bindings. The t-nuts that attached the buckles to the straps on the snowboards bindings can detach, posing a fall hazard to consumers.

      This recall involves 2007 model year Rossignol snowboard bindings. Models included in the recall are: HC 750, HC 1000, HC 2000, HC 3000, HC Mini, HC Amber, HC Diva, HC Harmony, HC Sonar, HC Zena and Jones Brown.

      The boards, made in China, were sold at snowboard, ski and sporting good stores nationwide from August 2007 through May 2008 for between $100 and $150.

      Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled bindings and take them to a Rossignol snowboard retailer for inspection and free replacement t-nuts. Consumers can also contact Rossignol to have a repair kit mailed to them. T-nuts marked in red-ink or with an embossed dot have been repaired.

      Pottery Barn Recalls Wooden Hammock Stands

      Pottery Barn is recalling about 30,000 wooden hammock stands. When used outdoors, the wood in the hammock stand can deteriorate over time and break, posing a risk of falls and lacerations to consumers.

      Pottery Barn has received 12 reports of injuries requiring medical attention, including lacerations, neck and back pain, bruising, and one incident involving fractured ribs and about 50 reports of the hammock stand breaking.

      The wooden hammock stands measure about 154 inches long by 53 inches in height by 53 inches in width. There are two black metal brackets on the base and on the arms of the hammock stand. All Pottery Barn two pole wooden hammock stands sold from 2003 through 2008 are included in this recall.

      The stands, made in China, were sold through the Pottery Barn catalog and the firm's Web site from March 2003 through July 2008 for about $300.

      Consumers should remove the two top side brackets of the hammock stand and dispose of the remaining portion of the hammock stand. Contact Pottery Barn to schedule a free pickup of the brackets and to receive a merchandise credit for the amount of the stand.

      Pottery Barn is recalling about 185,000 round and egg-shaped decorative candles.

      The candle's exterior coating can ignite, posing a fire hazard. Pottery Barn has received two reports of the gold paint on the candle exterior igniting. No injuries or property damage have been reported.

      This recall involves egg-shaped and large and small round candles sold in three sizes. The candles were sold in green, red and white with gold glitter and leaf designs. The recall includes all styles of this candle, including style numbers 9444811, 9444928, 9444936, 9444944, 9444944, 9445214, 9445222, 9445222, and 9445313. The style number for the candles can be found on the price ticket under the candle.

      The candles were sold at Pottery Barn stores nationwide from September 2007 through December 2007 for between $10 and $20. They were made in Hong Kong.

      Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled candles and return them to any Pottery Barn store for a full refund.

      2009 Jaguar XF Models Recalled

      Jaguar is recalling about 3,700 XF vehicles from the 2009 model year to fix a problem with the instrument panel.

      The company said that the speaker wires may fracture, causing the speaker to stop working.

      If the speaker stops working, several audible notifications would fail, including the turn indicator, seat belt warning, driver's door open warning and seat memory. Without the audible warning, drivers might miss crucial information, possibly causing a crash.

      Dealers will verify the speaker function and reconfigure the control module when the recall begins this month. Owners may contact Jaguar at 1-800-452-4827.

      Rack Room Recalls Girls' Sandals

      Rack Room Shoes Inc. is recalling about 11,000 pairs of girls' sandals. The ornamental flowers on the sandals can detach, posing a choking hazard to young children.

      The firm has received one report of a flower separating. No injuries have been reported.

      The recalled girls sandals are leather with attached leather flowers and were sold under the Kids Feet name. The sandals are white or white with pink soles. The sandals were sold in girls sizes 5 through 12.

      The sandals, made in China, were sold at Rack Room Shoes stores nationwide from February 2008 through June 2008 for about $25.

      Consumers should take the recalled sandals away from children immediately and return them to the store where purchased for a refund or store credit.

      Aloha Housewares Recalls Portable Heaters

      Aloha Housewares is recalling about 152,000 portable heaters. They can overheat and melt plastic parts, posing a fire hazard to consumers.

      Aloha Housewares has received 29 reports of the heaters melting, smoking or catching fire, including 18 reports of property damage. One consumer reported minor burns to the hands and feet.

      This recall involves electric oscillating tower heaters with the name Aloha Breeze printed on the top. The white heaters have model number 02044 and dates codes 06/06, 06/07, 06/08 or 06/09. Model numbers and date codes are printed on the silver label located on the back of the heater, near the bottom.

      The heaters were sold at Wal-mart and small retail chain stores nationwide from August 2006 through November 2007 for between $35 and $45. They were made in China.

      Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled heaters and contact Aloha Housewares to receive a replacement product.

      Buzz's Boatyard is recalling about 200 toy boats. The paint on the recalled toy boats contains an excess level of lead, violating the federal lead paint standard.

      This recall involves two models of tin Pop Pop toy boats. Models included in the recall are the 13-inch 'Titanic' and the 'Hut' Pop Pop boats.

      The boats were sold through Buzz's Boatyard's Web site (www.buzzboats.com) from April 2007 to November 2007 for between $3 and $12. They were made in India.

      Consumers should immediately take the recalled toys away from children and contact Buzz's Boatyard for a refund or an exchange.

      Gardner Bender Wire Splices Recalled

      Cervlo SA is recalling about 5,800 carbon fiber bicycle forks.

      The forks steerer can break during normal use, causing the rider to lose control, fall and suffer serious injuries.

      Cervelo has received 12 reports of forks cracking or breaking, resulting in one consumer suffering a broken wrist and another suffering minor abrasions.

      The recalled forks have a clear coating over black painted carbon fiber, with the words Wolf Superlite and related logo just below the crown on each fork leg, and the letters SL on each leg above the fork blade dropouts. There is a True Temper CRT logo on the inside of both fork legs. The recalled forks could have been included on the following bicycle models: R3, R3 SL, Soloist Carbon, Soloist Carbon SL, and certain P3 Carbon framesets and complete bicycles.

      They were sold by bicycle retailers nationwide from November 2005 through July 2007 for about $475 and were made in China.

      Consumers should immediately stop using bicycles equipped with the recalled forks and contact their authorized Cervlo dealer to have a free replacement fork installed.

      Kids II Recalls Infant Rattles

      Kids II is recalling about 19,000 Bright Starts Ring Rattles.

      The tip of the rattle's antenna, which is attached to a bee figure, can detach and pose a choking hazard to small children.

      Kids II has received two reports of the tip of the antenna detaching from the rattle, including one report that the purple ball from the tip of the antenna was in the baby's mouth. No injuries have been reported.

      The soft toy rattle is a bee with a yellow head, ring-shaped green body, blue/green wings and purple/red antennas. Model number 8534 and date code PA8 are printed on a sewn-in label on the bee's head.

      The rattles were made in China and sold at toy stores, mass merchandisers, and other retail stores nationwide from January 2008 through June 2008 for about $2-3.

      Consumers should immediately take the recalled rattles away from small children and contact Kids II to receive a free replacement rattle.

      'Little Rider' Toy Cowboy Recalled

      Master Toys & Novelties Inc. is recalling about 6,000 "Cowboy on a Horse" Little Rider Toys. Surface paint on the shoe and pants of the rider toy contains excessive levels of lead, violating the federal lead paint standard.

      This recall includes a battery operated cowboy riding a horse toy. The model number 8610B is located on the product packaging. The horse and rider together measure about 8.5 inches in height by 7.5 inches in length. The rider is wearing blue pants and a red shirt and the horse is brown. Only Little Rider Toys with UPC code 603678086101 printed on the product packaging are included in the recall.

      The toys were sold at dollar and discount stores nationwide from April 2007 through January 2008 for between $5 and $7. They were made in China.

      Consumers should immediately take these recalled toys away from children and return it to the store where purchased for a full refund.

      Hayes Bicycle Group Recalls Quick-Release Devices

      Hayes Bicycle Group is recalling SunRingl Hollow Quick Release Devices for bicycles. The quick release devices can unexpectedly fail or break when locked in position on the bicycle, causing the rider to lose control, which poses a serious fall hazard.

      Hayes Bicycle Group has received four reports of the quick release device breaking. No injuries have been reported.

      Quick-release devices with a hollow skewer, as shown in the left, are included in this recall. Quick-release devices with a solid skewer, as shown in the right, are not included in this recall.

      This recall involves the SunRingl' Hollow Quick Release Devices for bicycles and includes models Hollow CroMo Front 100mm, Hollow CroMo Rear 130mm, and Hollow CroMo Rear 135mm. These devices have hollow skewers. They were sold individually or with SunRingl' front and rear wheels with model names Black Flag, Disc o Flea, Charger, STR8 Track, Accelerator R3.00C and Accelerator T3.0C. 'Ringl' is stamped on the lever. Quick release devices with a solid skewer are not included in this recall.

      The devices were sold at bicycle specialty stores and dealers nationwide from June 2007 through May 2008 for about $17. They were made in Taiwan.

      Consumers should stop riding bicycles with the recalled quick release devices immediately, remove the quick release device and bring it to their local bike dealer or retailer for a free inspection and replacement.

      Bonne Bell is recalling about 945,000 children's cosmetics accessory bags. The metal clasps on the handle of the accessory bags contain excessive levels of lead, which is toxic if ingested and can cause adverse health effects.

      The recalled accessory bags are made of plastic and have a zipper and carrying handle. The bags come with an assortment of cosmetic products, which are not part of this recall.       The bags were sold at retail stores nationwide and Bonne Bells Web site from September 2007 through August 2008 for about $9. They were made in China.

      Consumers should immediately take the recalled accessory bag away from children and contact Bonne Bell for a replacement bag.
