    Gymboree Corp. Recalls Toy Swords

    The Gymboree Corp. is recalling about 6,000 toy pirate swords. The swords can break, creating a sharp point, which poses a laceration hazard.

    This recall involves a toy pirate sword with SKU number 140025491-GYS049. The SKU number is printed on the price tag above the bar code. The sword is made of plastic, and has a gold-colored handle and a gray plastic blade. The sword is about 19 inches long.

    The swords were sold at Gymboree stores nationwide and its Web site from August 2007 through September 2007 for between $12 and $15. They were made in China.

    Consumers should immediately stop using the swords and return them to any Gymboree store for a full refund. Consumers also can contact Gymboree to receive instructions on returning the swords via mail.

    About 380,000 Galaxy Warriors toy figures are being recalled by Henry Gordy International Inc. Surface paints on the toys contain excessive levels of lead, violating the federal lead paint standard.

    The spaceman figures are about 4 1/2-inches tall and come with two accessories. They were sold in various colors including yellow, grey, silver, blue, green, gold, black, and red.

    They were sold at Family Dollar Stores nationwide from January 2006 through October 2007 for about $1 and were made in China.

    Consumers should take the recalled toys away from children immediately and return the toy to the firm for a full refund plus postage.

    Thomas & Friends Wooden Railway Toys

    RC2 Corp. is recalling about 1.5 million "Thomas & Friends" wooden railway toys. Surface paints on the recalled products contain lead. Lead is toxic if ingested by young children and can cause adverse health effects.

    The recall involves wooden vehicles, buildings and other train set components for young children listed in the chart below. The front of the packaging has the logo 'Thomas & Friends Wooden Railway' on the upper left-hand corner. A manufacturing code may be located on the bottom of the product or inside the battery cover. Toys marked with codes containing 'WJ' or 'AZ' are not included in this recall.

    The railway toys were sold at toy stores and various retailers nationwide from January 2005 through June 2007 for between $10 and $70.

    Consumers should take the recalled toys away from young children immediately and contact RC2 Corp. for a replacement toy.

      Arctic Cat Recalls Youth Model ATVs

      Arctic Cat Inc. is recalling its 90cc DVX and Utility model all-terrain vehicles (ATVs) because of a possible handlebar problem.

      On the recalled ATVs, the handlebar base mounting bolts, tie-rod ends and tie-rod adjustment locking nuts may not have been tightened to the proper torque during the production process. Operating an affected ATV could cause components to loosen resulting in loss of steering control.

      This condition could result in loss of vehicle control which could result in injury or death.

      Arctic Cat has received no reports of loose steering components or of injury related to this condition.

      The recall includes 2007 model 90cc DVX youth model ATVs within the VIN range of RFB07ATV07K6F0243 through RFB07ATVX7K6F0752, and 90cc Utility youth model ATVs within the VIN range of RFB07ATV07K6D1367 through RFB07ATVX7K6D2400. The range refers to the last six characters of the VIN.

      These models are designed for used by operators 12 years old and older. The 90cc DVX model is available in Lime Green or Red, and has the model name DVX 90 on each side of the fuel tank, and Arctic Cat on each side of the seat. The 90cc Utility model is available in Marsh Green or Red, and has the name Arctic Cat on each side of the fuel tank and 90 on each side panel near operator"s leg position.

      The units were sold by Arctic Cat dealerships nationwide from August 2006 through January 2007 for about $2,200.

      Consumers should stop using these ATVs immediately. Registered owners have been notified about this recall by mail. Consumers with a recalled ATV should contact their local Arctic Cat ATV dealer to schedule a free repair.

      Bell Mini Racing Helmets Recalled

      Bell Racing Co. is recalling about 1,400 collectible mini racing helmets. Surface paints on the recalled helmets contain excessive levels of lead, violating the federal lead paint standard.

      The recalled products are six-inch tall, collectible, miniature helmets, modeled after helmets worn by several race car drivers. The follow models are included in the recall: Terry Borcheller helmet, part number 2005740; Kurt Busch helmet, part number 2001368; and Vitor Meira helmet, part number 2001381. The part number is located on the product's packaging with the UPC.

      The helmets were made in China.

      They were sold at home improvement and discount department retailers nationwide from March 2007 through November 2007 for about $50.

      Consumers should take the recalled helmets away from young children immediately and contact Bell Racing to receive a full refund.

      Hunter Fan Recalls Humidifiers for Fire Hazard

      Hunter Fan is recalling its "Warm Mist Carefree" humidifier. Water can leak into the unit's electrical compartment, posing a fire hazard.

      Hunter has received four reports of incidents involving a water leak, including one report of a fire resulting in minor property damage. No injuries have been reported.

      This recall involves Warm Mist CareFree humidifiers sold in white and black with blue or green tinted water tanks. 'Hunter' and 'NiteGlo' are printed on the humidifier. Model numbers are listed on a white label on the bottom of the humidifier. Model numbers and tank sizes are listed in the chart below.

      The units were sold at Lowe's, Wal-Mart, discount and hardware stores nationwide, as well as through mail order catalogs and Web retailers from September 2005 through February 2007 for between $40 and $65. They were made in China.

      Consumers should immediately stop using and unplug the recalled humidifiers. Consumers should contact Hunter Fan to receive a free replacement humidifier or refund.

      Counterfeit 'Square D' Circuit Breakers

      Connecticut Electric is recalling about 64,000 counterfeit Square D circuit breakers.

      The recalled circuit breakers labeled Square D are counterfeit and could fail to trip when they are required to, posing a fire hazard to consumers.

      The counterfeit circuit breakers are black and are marked as Square D products. Connecticut Electric has identified the following breakers as possibly being counterfeit: QO115, QO120, QO140, QO2125, QO215, QO220, QO230, QO240, QO250, QO260, QO1515, QO2020, QO3100, QO320, QO330, QO340, QO360, QOB120, QOB130, QOB220, QOB230, QOB250, QOB330, and QOB360.

      Actual Square D circuit breakers have (a) the amp rating written on the handle in white paint on the front of the breaker; (b) the Square D insignia molded onto the breaker side, and; (c) a yellow chromate mounting clip with half of the top of the clip visible. If your Square D breaker does not match this description, it could be counterfeit.

      The units were sold by electrical distributors and hardware stores nationwide from February 2005 through August 2006 for between about $6.50 and $15.50. They were made in China.

      Consumers should contact Connecticut Electric to determine if the breaker they have is counterfeit and if necessary, to arrange for a free inspection and replacement or refund.

      Victoria's Secret Recalls Stuffer Bear

      Victoria's Secret is recalling a small number of Holiday Cosmetics Stuffer Bears sold through its Web site.

      The neck medallion zipper pull can detach, posing a choking hazard to young children.

      The cosmetic stuffer bear was designed to hold cosmetics and/or gift cards. It is a plush bear with a zipper down the body. A 'VS' neck medallion serves as the zipper pull. The bear was sold in pink and leopard.

      The bears were sold by Victoria's Secret Web site (www.victoriassecret.com) during October 2007 for about $8. They were made in China.

      Consumers should immediately stop using the stuffer bears and keep out of the reach of young children. Victoria's Secret has sent consumers a postage paid return mailer enclosed. Customers returning the bear will receive a refund, postage and a $10 gift certificate.

      Halloween Ugly Teeth party favors are being recalled by Amscan Inc. The surface paint on the teeth contains excessive levels of lead, violating the federal lead paint standard.

      The fake Halloween teeth are painted white, black and orange with brown gums. They were sold as party favors in packages of eight. Ugly Teeth, Amscan, Party Favors, Value Pack Party Favors, UPC 0-48419-65002-7 and UPC 0-48419-61663-4 are printed on the packaging.

      The teeth, made in China, were sold at various retailers nationwide from January 2006 through October 2007 for about $2.

      Consumers should immediately take the recalled Halloween teeth away from children and return them to the place where purchased for a full refund.

      Slipcovers used with Boppy pillows are being recalled.

      The zipper pull on the slipcovers can break, posing a choking hazard to young children. In addition, paint on the zippers contains excess levels of lead, which violates the federal lead paint standard.

      This recall involves velvet and boa slipcovers intended for use with the Boppy Bare Naked nursing and support pillow.

      Slipcovers recalled due to a choking hazard were sold in three color combinations and have the following UPC and date codes found on the California Flammability Law tag. Slipcovers sold in clear vinyl packages are labeled Boppy Luxe.

      Limited Too is recalling pearl-like bead attachments sold with girl's gift sets. Surface coating on a plastic bead decorative packaging attachment contains excessive levels of lead, violating the federal lead paint standard.

      The recalled item is a pearl-like pink bead attachment on the outside packaging of the gift sets and a zipper pull/wrist band on a cosmetic lip gloss set. The gift sets were sold under the 'Sparkle by Too' line, as follows: 3-Pack Lip Gloss Wristlet (Style No. 2014), 4-Pack Body Spray (Style No. 2017), and 3-Piece Bath Set (Style No. 2018).

      The items were sold at Limited Too retail stores nationwide, catalog and Web site from April 2007 through September 2007 for between $11 and $13. They were made in China.

      Consumers should immediately remove this recalled decorative pearl-like bead attachment from the gift sets and return it to any Limited Too store for a $5 Limited Too coupon. In addition to the $5 coupon, consumers who choose to return the gift sets along with the packaging attachment will receive a full refund.

      Codee International Corp.is recalling its Princess line of children's metal jewelry. The recalled jewelry contains high levels of lead. Lead is toxic if ingested by young children and can cause adverse health effects.

      This recall involves the Codeena Princess childrens jewelry. Only jewelry with item numbers KS1367SS and KS1369SCP are included in the recall. The item number is printed on the back of the packaging. The childrens jewelry sets were sold in a variety of sets including pink or white pearl-like necklace, bracelet and earring or ring combinations. Some sets have studded charms dangling on the bracelet and the necklace.

      The jewelry was sold at discount stores nationwide from September 2005 through August 2007 for about $5. It was made in China.

      Consumers should immediately take the recalled jewelry away from children and return to the store where purchased for a refund.

      Kong Maxx Ladder Stands Recalled

      Kong Maxx ladder stands sold at Gander Mountain are being recalled because of a fall hazard.

      The ladder stands can become unstable while in use, causing the user to fall. The addition of one ladder section to the stand makes the platform further away from the bracing. When the stand is at its full height, the distance between the bracing and the platform may result in platform instability prior to attachment to and/or detachment from the tree.

      Gorilla Inc. has received two reports of consumers who fell from these ladder stands and suffered injuries to the back and knee.

      This recall involves Gorilla Kong Maxx Ladder Stands with model number 43032 and batch numbers G051507, G051507D, G061507D, G071507D, and G081507D. Model numbers are printed on the box only. Batch numbers are stamped on the vertical rail of the first ladder section. The stand is 19-feet to the shooting rail, or 16-foot 8-inches to the platform. The foot platform measures 17 -inches wide. This is the only Gorilla, Inc. ladder stand with these dimensions.

      The devices were sold at Gander Mountain stores nationwide from July 2007 through September 2007 for about $180. They were made in China.

      Childrens "Divine Inspiration" charm bracelets sold by Buy-Rite are being recalled because they contain high levels of lead. Lead is toxic if ingested by young children and can cause adverse health effects.

      The recalled charm bracelets have silver-colored charms, including angels, crosses, and hearts, and clear and pink beads that hang from a silver-colored chain.

      They were sold at dollar stores and other small retail stores nationwide from March 2004 through August 2007 for about $1.

      The items were made in China.

      Gorilla Full Body Safety Harnesses Recalled

      Gorilla Inc. is recalling about 60,000 full-body safety harnesses. The harnesses could fail during use, resulting in a hunter falling from the tree stand and suffering serious injuries or death.

      This recall involves the Pullover Style Full Body Safety Harnesses model SP40300 that were included as an accessory with Gorilla 2007 ladder stands. The harnesses bear batch code numbers 020507, 030507 and 040507. The model and batch code number is printed on the label affixed to the harness.

      The harness was available as an accessory with 2007 ladder stands at Sporting goods retailers nationwide from April 2007 through October 2007 for between $80 and $300. The devices were made in China.

      Consumers should stop using the recalled safety harness immediately and contact Gorilla for a free replacement harness.

      Gorilla Full Body Safety Harnesses Recalled...

      DEWALT Recalls Portable Generators

      DEWALT is recalling its DG2900 portable generators because of an electric shock hazard. A ground fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) installed on the generator could fail to operate properly, the company said.

      No incidents or injuries have been reported.

      The recall involves DEWALT DG2900 2900 watt gasoline-powered generators with date codes 200150 through 200635. The generators are black and yellow. "DEWALT" and "DG2900" are printed on the generator. The date code is stamped on the right side of the unit on the black plastic covering the rear of the control panel. Units with an "R" stamped on the name plate are not affected by this recall.

      The units were sold by major home center and hardware stores nationwide from December 2001 through November 2006 for between $900 and $1,000.

      Consumers should stop using the generators immediately and contact DEWALT to arrange for a free inspection and, if necessary, free repair.

      Elmo USA Corp. is recalling about 54,000 Epson visual presentation cameras. Improperly installed fluorescent top lights in the presenter can overheat, posing a fire hazard.

      Visual presenters capture images to LCD panels, LCD projectors and TV monitors. The recall includes presenters sold under the ELMO, Epson, Doar Communications, Vtel and Tandberg brand names.

      The presenters were manufactured between December 1993 and December 2003. The manufacturer information is located on the side, rear and bottom of the main body of the following ELMO model numbers, EV-500AF, EV-400AF, EV-6000AF, EV-8000AF, HV-5000XG, HV-7000SX, HV-8000SX, EV-4400AF, HV-5100XG and Epson model ELPDC02.

      The devices, made in Japan, were sold by Elmo dealers, office supply stores and other retailers nationwide from December 1993 to June 2006 for between $2,600 and $9,000.

      Consumers should stop using the recalled visual presenters immediately and contact Elmo USA for all models except Epson. All Epson owners should contact Epson. Consumers with recalled units will receive a free inspection and repair.

      Christmas Tree Shops Inc. is recalling about 9,600 sequin glitter candles. The candles exterior glitter coating can ignite, posing a fire hazard.

      The firm has received four reports of flames or smoke coming from the candle or the exterior coating. No injuries have been reported.

      The candles were sold at Christmas Tree Shop retail locations nationwide from November 2006 through December 2006 for between $1.70 and $3.00. They were made in China.

      Payless Children's Clogs

      Payless ShoeSource is recalling about 690,000 children's Airwalk Compel shoes. Plastic rivets used to attach the strap to the shoe can detach, posing a choking hazard to young children.

      Payless has received one report of a child who began to choke on a detached rivet. No injuries have been reported.

      This recall involves Airwalk Compel clog shoes sold in prewalk sizes 3 through toddler size 10. The flexible shoes have air ventilation holes on the top and side and plastic rivets with the Airwalk logo attached to the strap. Airwalk and the shoe size are printed on the sole of the shoe. No other sizes, styles or models are included in this recall.

      The shoes were sold at Payless ShoeSource and Pamida stores nationwide and Payless.com from August 2006 through early April 2007 for about $13.

      Consumers should take the shoes away from young children immediately and return them to the store where purchased for a refund or exchange.

      'Avant Yarde' Outdoor Candles

      Hayes Company Inc. is rcalling about 83,000 "Avant Yarde" decorative glaze outdoor candles. The candle's wax can catch fire causing a high flame.

      The firm has received two reports of consumers who suffered minor burns to their hands when they tried to extinguish flames coming from the candle.

      The recall involves three styles of outdoor citronella candles with a glazed lower portion that is brown, blue, or green. The item number 18134 can be located on the top left part of the label on the bottom of the candle.

      The candles were sold at Ace Hardware stores nationwide from February 2006 through June 2007 for about $8. They were manufactured in China.

      Consumers should stop using the recalled candles immediately and return them to any Ace Hardware store for a full refund.
