Auto Manufacturers

It's often hard to know where the dealer's responsibility ends and the manufacturer's nose begins.  This section tries to pinpoint problems that seem to be standard equipment or that occur because of the manufacturer's response, or lack of it.

Although we try to be fair, sites like this do tend to exaggerate problems. Obviously, not all vehicles will have the problems mentioned above. Some readers think we're too hard on one brand or another -- like Joe of Portland, who thinks we're too tough on General Motors.
