    Bayer recalls Alka-Seltzer Plus

    The ingredients on the front sticker may not match the actual product

    Bayer is recalling Alka-Seltzer Plus packages sold only in the U.S. at Walmart, CVS, Walgreens and Kroger (including Dillons Food Stores, Fred Meyer, Fry’s Food Stores, Ralphs, King Soopers and Smith’s Food and Drug) after February 9, 2018.

    The ingredients listed on the front sticker of the carton may be different from the ingredients listed on the back of the carton, leading consumers to ingest a product to which they may have an allergy or anaphylactic reaction.

    In addition, the product may contain an ingredient which may be contraindicated for their medical condition or they intend to otherwise avoid, with the potential for serious health consequences.

    No complaint has been received to date that resulted in an adverse health consequence.

    The recalled product can be identified by checking the Bayer logo located on the lower left corner of the front of the carton. If the logo has an orange or green background, the product is included in the recall.

    What to do

    Customers who purchased the recalled product should stop using it t and contact Bayer for instructions about how to receive a refund.

    Kia recalls model year 2017-2018 Optima hybrids

    The vehicle could lose power, increasing the risk of a crash

    Kia Motors America is recalling 1,710 model year 2017-2018 Optima hybrids equipped with a Voltage Protection Device (VPD), designed to protect the high voltage battery module, that may activate inadvertently.

    If the VPD activates while the vehicle is being operated in Electric Vehicle (EV) mode, there may be a loss of power, increasing the risk of a crash.

    What to do

    Kia will notify owners, and dealers will remove the VPD switch and install two newly designed Battery Management Systems that contain Overvoltage Protection Devices, free of charge.

    The recall is expected to begin May 3, 2018.

    Louis Garneau recalls bicycle helmets

    The helmets do not comply with federal impact requirements

    Louis Garneau USA of Derby, Vt., is recalling about 1,200 bicycle helmets sold in the U.S. and Canada.

    The helmets do not comply with the impact requirements of the federal safety standard for bicycle helmets, posing a risk of head injury.

    No incidents or injuries have been reported.

    This recall involves Louis Garneau Course Helmets with model number LG1261 printed on the inside of the helmet.

    “Garneau,” “Course” and “LG” are printed on both sides of the recalled bicycle helmets. They were sold in matte black and matte fluo yellow.

    The manufacturer’s date and serial number are printed on a sticker inside the helmet.

      Handi-Craft Company of St. Louis, Mo., is recalling about 600,500 Dr. Brown’s Lovey pacifier & teether holders sold in the U.S. and Canada.

      The snap can detach from the pacifier’s ribbon, posing a choking hazard for young children.

      The firm has received a total of 67 reports of the ribbon fraying and the snap detaching. No injuries have reported.

      This recall involves Dr. Brown’s Lovey pacifier & teether holders. The holders were sold in eight styles: Giraffe, Zebra, Turtle, Reindeer (Special Holiday Edition), Frog (Special Holiday Edition), Spring Bunny (Special Holiday Edition), Deer and Bunny.

      Only holders with the following lot codes are included in this recall: RICH0615; RICH0715; RICH0815; RICH1215; RICH0516; RICH0616; RICH0716; RICH1116; RICH1016; RICH0916; RICH1216; RICH0317; RICH0417; RICH0517; RICH0617; RICH0717; RICH0817; RICH0917.

      The lot codes are printed on the tag attached to the holder.

      The pacifier & teether holders, manufactured in China, were sold at Bed Bath & Beyond, H-E-B Grocery, K-Mart, Target, Toys ‘R Us/Babies ‘R Us, Wal-Mart and various stores nationwide and online at Amazon.com from August 2015, to March 2018, for about $10.

      Jewett Cameron Company of North Plains, Ore., is recalling about 84,000 Playtime Pals Pop-Up Hideaway Hut children’s tents.

      The fiberglass rod that supports the tent can break, splinter and become sharp, posing a laceration hazard to consumers.

      The firm has received 270 reports of tent rods breaking, including two reports of bruises and lacerations.

      This recall involves the Playtime Pals Pop-Up Hideaway Hut animal themed children’s tent.

      The tent has four animal themes: hippo (pink), dog (brown), shark (blue) and tiger (orange).

      All have a fiberglass rod that springs to deploy the tent to shape and provides the support for the nylon shell.

      The tents, manufactured in China, were sold exclusively at Home Depot stores nationwide during November 2017 for about $13.

      Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled tents and return them to Home Depot for a full refund or store credit.

      Improper wiring can activate the wagon’s motor unintentionally

      Radio Flyer of Chicago, Ill., is recalling about 5,000 Children’s eWagons.

      Improper wiring can activate the wagon’s motor unintentionally, posing an injury hazard.

      The firm has received two reports of the wagon’s motor activating unintentionally. No injuries have been reported.

      This recall involves Radio Flyer’s eWagon children’s battery-operated electric wagons. When force is applied to the wagon’s electric handle, the motor activates to power the wagon.

      The foldable wagon is constructed of red and gray fabric and a steel frame and measures about 41 inches long, 25 inches wide, and 42 inches tall.

      It has a removable canopy, two seats with seatbelts, four cup holders, a storage pouch, a removable battery and a telescoping handle where the power button is. The Radio Flyer logo is printed on each side of the wagon.

      Only wagons with model number 3912/3912A are included in this recall. The model number can be found on the handle warning label located near the pivoting joint.

      The wagons, manufactured in China, were sold at Toys “R” Us stores nationwide and online at www.radioflyer.com and www.toysrus.com from August 2017 through January 2018 for about $350.

      Without taillights, the driver will not be able to communicate his driving intentions, increasing the risk of a crash.

      What to do

      Newmar will notify owners, and dealers will secure the taillights with new hardware, free of charge.

      The recall is expected to begin May 1, 2018.

      MAAX Spas recalls hot tubs and swim spas

      The UV generator inside the hot tub and swim spa can ignite while in use

      MAAX Spas Industries of Chandler, Ariz., is recalling about 1,200

      Maax Spas hot tubs and swim spas sold in the U.S. and Canada.

      The UV generator inside the hot tub and swim spa can ignite while in use, posing a fire hazard.

      The company has received six reports of generators in the affected hot tubs and swim spas igniting and causing damage to the generators and surrounding hot tub or swim spa components. There have been no reports of injuries.

      This recall involves MAAX Spas hot tubs and swim spas containing a Delta UV generator.

      The generator is used to sanitize the water and plumbing inside the hot tub or swim spa. The generator’s model number is EA-4H-5.

      The model numbers for the hot tubs and swim spas are: 461; 470; 471; 472; 480; 481; 482; 780; 781; 5200; 5300; 5400; 5600; 7000; 7500; 8000; 8500; 9000; DT6; ENV; ES; ESX; GRD; LT6; MON; MT6; NUG; PRS; RB4; RL4; RS1; RS2; XB4; XL4; XSD; XSL; XSP; and XSR.

      The model name is the first 3 or 4 digits of the hot tub or swim spa serial number, and is engraved into a silver plate on the lower right or lower left corner of the front side of the hot tub or swim spa.

      The hot tubs and swim spas, manufactured in the U.S., were sold at independent hot tub and swim spa retailers nationwide, from January 2012, through July 2015.

      Hot tubs were sold for about $4,000 to $15,000. Swim spas were sold for about $16,000 to $30,000.

      What to do

      Consumers should immediately stop using the hot tubs and swim spas and contact a MAAX Spas’ dealer for a free repair.

      The trailers' refrigerators may leak propane gas

      Keystone RV Company is recalling 1,992 model year 2018 Keystone Passport, Summerland and Hideout, Dutchmen Aspen Trail and Coleman, and Crossroads Zinger recreational trailers.

      These trailers are equipped with Norcold N306 mini refrigerators that may have a loose or missing propane gas valve test port screw.

      The loose or missing propane gas port screw can allow propane gas to leak when the refrigerator is used in 'gas' mode, increasing the risk of a fire.

      What to do

      Keystone will notify owners, and dealers will install and tighten the gas valve port screw, as necessary, free of charge.

      The recall is expected to begin April 23, 2018.

      This recall involves model year 2016, 2017 and 2018 Husqvarna closed course/competition motorcycles with 450cc, 4-cycle engines.

      The motorcycles are white, blue and yellow with the Husqvarna logo on both sides of the shrouds covering the fuel tank. The engine size FS 450 is printed on both sides of the side panel below the rear of the seat.

      Model year 2016 motorcycles have the letter G in the 10th position of the vehicle identification number (VIN).

      Model year 2017 motorcycles have the letter H in the 10th position of the vehicle identification number (VIN).

      Model year 2018 motorcycles have the letter J in the 10th position of the vehicle identification number (VIN).

      The VIN number is located on the right side of the steering head.

      The motorcycles, manufactured in Austria, were sold at Husqvarna Motorcycles authorized dealers nationwide from September 2016, to December 2017, for between $10,000 and $10,500.

      Consumers should immediately stop riding the recalled motorcycles and contact an authorized Husqvarna Motorcycles dealer to schedule a free repair which involves installing a new machined aluminum front brake master cylinder piston.

      The glue that holds the menorah’s candleholders can melt

      Bensussen Deutch & Associates (BDA) of Woodinville, Wash., is recalling about 1,800 Golden State Warriors menorahs.

      The glue that holds the menorah’s candleholders can melt causing the candleholders and the lit candles to fall off, posing fire and burn hazards.

      The firm has received one report of the glue melting and causing the candleholder to fall off. No injuries have been reported.

      This recall involves menorahs given away as promotional items for Jewish Heritage Night at an NBA game for the Golden State Warriors on December 14, 2017.

      “Golden State Warriors,” “Jewish Heritage Night” and two Stars of David are printed on the front of the menorah.

      The polyresin menorahs have gold-colored aluminum candleholders on top of decorative basketballs.

      The center candleholder has an additional decorative basketball basket underneath the ball. The candles resemble basketballs.

      The menorahs, manufactured in China, were distributed as a giveaway promotional item to ticketholders for Jewish Heritage Night at an NBA game for the Golden State Warriors on December 14, 2017.

      The front brake hoses may contact the tires, possibly resulting in a brake fluid leak

      Jaguar Land Rover North America is recalling 41 model year 2018 Jaguar E-Pace vehicles.

      The brackets that secure the front brake hoses may not have been installed properly, allowing the front brake hoses to contact the tires, possibly resulting in a brake fluid leak.

      A brake fluid leak can lengthen the distance needed to stop the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.

      What to do

      Jaguar will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the front brake hose brackets, replacing any that do not provide sufficient clearance, free of charge.

      The recall is expected to begin April 23, 2018.
