    Titan recalls weight lifting safety straps

    The stitching in the strap can come loose causing heavy weights to fall

    Titan Manufacturing and Distributing of Collerville, Tenn., is recalling about 970 Titan safety straps.

    The stitching in the strap can come loose causing heavy weights to fall, posing an injury hazard to the weight lifter.

    The firm has received one report of a strap breaking when subjected to moderate weight, and is aware of three other reports of strap failures. No injuries have been reported.

    This recall involves Titan weight lifting safety straps with steel mount brackets to hold the weights. The straps are used to catch the weights if a user were to drop them during an exercise.

    The recall includes straps with model numbers 24T3STRAP, 26T2STRAP, 30X3STRAP, 36T3STRAP, X2STRAP24, 24X3STRAP, 36X3STRAP.

    The Titan logo and model numbers are contained on the product’s packaging. The safety straps were sold in packages of two.

    The safety straps, manufactured in China, were sold online only at Amazon.com, eBay.com, Sears.com, Walmart.com and www.Titan.fitness from August 2017, through March 2018, for between $75 and $100.

    What to do

    Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled straps and contact Titan for a full refund or free replacement straps. Titan is contacting all known purchasers directly.

    Fuel Helmets is recalling 20,009 Open Face motorcycle helmets, part number SH-OF0016 in size Large, and SH-OF0017 in size Extra Large manufactured June 2015 – April 2017.

    The helmets may not adequately protect the wearer's head in the event of an impact, and an object may penetrate the helmet.

    A helmet that fails to meet the safety requirements can increase the risk of injury.

    What to do

      Jayco is recalling 170 model year 2015-2017 Jayco Redhawk motorhomes built on Chevrolet Van chassis.

      Liquid may leak into the driver's power window switch and cause corrosion, resulting in high electrical resistance and increasing the risk of a fire.

      What to do

      GM will notify owners, and GM dealers will replace the driver side door window switch, free of charge.

      The recall began on August 27, 2018.

      The polypropylene water waste tank may melt

      REV Recreation Group is recalling 31 model year 2018 Fleetwood Pulse, and model year 2018-2019 Holiday Rambler Prodigy motorhomes equipped with diesel-fuel generators.

      The generator's exhaust pipe may be routed close to the polypropylene water waste tank.

      If the exhaust pipe contacts the waste water tank, the tank may melt, increasing the risk of a fire.

      What to do

      REV will notify owners, and dealers will correct the generator exhaust pipe routing and repair the waste water tank as necessary, free of charge.

      The recall is expected to begin October 16, 2018.

      Some of the active ingredients have water contamination issues

      BioLyte Laboratories is recalling certain lots of NeoRelief for Muscle Cramping and Restlessness Topical Gel.

      Some of the active ingredients, manufactured by King Bio, have been found to have some water contamination issues that could have affected the product.

      There have been no reports of illness or injury due to date.

      Kawasaki recall Kawasaki Ninja motorcycles

      The center stand may drop to the ground while the motorcycle is being ridden

      Kawasaki Motors U.S.A. is recalling 390 model year 2018 Kawasaki Ninja H2 SX SE (ZXT02BJ) motorcycles.

      The pin for the center stand spring may have been improperly welded, and, as a result, may may shift or fall off resulting in the spring detaching and the center stand dropping to the ground unexpectedly and dragging while the motorcycle is being ridden.

      The dragging center stand can cause a loss of control, increasing the risk of a crash.

      What to do

      Kawasaki will notify owners, and dealers will replace the left center stand bracket, free of charge.

      The recall is expected to begin September 19, 2018.

      Prizer-Painter Stove Works recalls gas ranges and wall ovens

      Accumulated gas can ignite, posing a burn hazard when oven door is opened

      Prizer-Painter Stove Works of Blandon, Pa., is recalling about 9,700 BlueStar and Big Chill gas ranges and wall ovens sold in the U.S. and Canada.

      Use of the convection oven fan during pre-heating or broiling can cause accumulated gas to ignite, posing a burn hazard to consumers when oven door is opened.

      The firm has received 51 reports of flames or flares due to delayed gas ignition, including seven reported minor burns.

      This recall involves seven different series of BlueStar and Big Chill free-standing ranges and one series of gas-powered wall ovens.

      The BlueStar or Big Chill logos are on the front of the oven door. The recalled gas ranges and ovens were sold in a variety of colors, including stainless steel, white, green, orange, aqua, dark blue and black with gold trim.

      Gas ranges or wall ovens with model and serial numbers can be found on the CPSC's website here.

      The model and serial number are located on the serial plate. On the open burner gas ranges (star shaped burners), the serial plate is under the cast iron grates on the left side. On the sealed burner gas ranges (round burners), the serial plate is underneath the back guard, which is removable. On the gas wall ovens, the serial plate is behind the control panel on the left wall.

      The gas ranges and ovens, manufactured in the U.S., were sold at specialty appliance stores and kitchen equipment dealers nationwide from May 2015, through October 2017 for between $3,300, and $18,100.

      What to do

      Consumers should immediately turn off the convection fan and keep it turned off. Contact Prizer-Painter Stove Works to schedule a free repair.

      An auxiliary solar charging port circuit may not be protected

      Winnebago Industries is recalling 6,700 model year 2016-2019 Winnebago Era, Travato, Fuse, View, Trend, Aspect, Paseo, Via, Adventurer, Journey, Tour, & Grand Tour motorhomes.

      The vehicles have an auxiliary solar charging port circuit that is not fused.

      If solar panels are connected and exceed the amperage capacity of the circuit, the unprotected circuit can increase the risk of a fire.

      What to do

      Winnebago will notify owners, and dealers will install an inline 15-amp fuse into the auxiliary solar charging port circuit, free of charge.

      The removable bottom cushion on the daybed fails to meet the federal flammability standard for mattresses, posing a fire hazard.

      No incidents or injuries are reported.

      This recall involves the Hartley Flip Daybeds, a light gray upholstered duet daybed sofa.

      The SKU/UPC 535790/00000025357905 is printed on the UPC label attached to the underside of the daybed.

      Forest River recalls Coachmen Freedom Express recreational trailers

      The brakes may not engage if the trailer detaches from the tow vehicle

      Forest River is recalling 69 model year 2019 Coachmen Freedom Express recreational trailers.

      The break-away safety switch was not wired to a constant power source and, as a result, the switch may be inadvertently disconnected from the trailer house battery and cause the brakes to not engage if the trailer detaches from the tow vehicle.

      If the trailer brakes cannot engage if the trailer detaches from tow vehicle, there would be an increased risk of a crash.

      What to do

      Forest River has notified owners, and dealers will correct the break-away safety switch wiring, free of charge.

      The recall began September 11, 2018.

      Emerson Tool Company of St. Louis, Mo., is recalling about 210,000 wet/dry vacuums sold in the U.S. and Canada.

      The on/off switch can become dislodged and expose energized wiring, posing a shock hazard.

      No incidents or injuries have been reported.

      This recall involves RIDGID NXT wet/dry vacuums, models HD06000 (6-gallon) and HD09000 (9-gallon).

      The orange and black wet/dry vacuum has four swivel casters, a carrying handle, a hose and accessories. RIDGID is printed on the front of the vacuum.

      The model number can be found on a silver product identification label on the back of the vacuum’s powerhead assembly.

      The vacuums, manufactured in Mexico, were sold at The Home Depot stores nationwide and online at www.homedepot.com from March 2018, through July 2018, for about $50 for the 6-gallon wet/dry vacuum and for about $60 for the 9-gallon wet/dry vacuum.

      The powertrain hardware can come loose, causing the throttle to stick.

      Deere & Company of Moline, Ill., is recalling about 4,900 John Deere XUV590 and XUV590 S4 Gator utility vehicles sold in the U.S and Canada.

      The powertrain hardware can come loose, causing the throttle to stick. This could result in the operator not being able to stop the vehicle, posing a crash hazard.

      The company has received two reports of the throttle cable sticking. No injuries have been reported.

      This recall involves John Deere Gator utility vehicles with model number “XUV590” or “XUV590 S4” printed on the hood. “John Deere” and “Gator” are printed on the cargo box.

      The serial number is located on the frame on the rear of the machine above the hitch and begins with 1M0590 and falls within the ranges on the chart below.

      The recalled utility vehicles were sold in green and yellow, olive drab and camouflage and have four-wheel suspension with side-by-side seating for two or four people.
