Crate and Barrel of Northbrook, Ill., is recalling about 7,400 Dakota benches that can tip over while in use, posing a fall hazard.
The company has received seven reports of the benches tipping over, including four reports of injuries. The injuries involved broken toes, a broken foot, and a fingertip amputation.
This recall involves the Dakota wooden bench. The bench has two legs and was sold in two sizes: 51 inches wide by 18 inches tall and 71 inches wide and 18 inches tall.
The benches, manufactured in Poland, were sold at Crate and Barrel stores nationwide and online at www.crateandbarrel.com from September 2011, through November 2017, for about $600 for the 51-inch bench and about $800 for the 71-inch bench.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled benches and contact Crate and Barrel for a free repair. The firm is notifying all known purchasers directly.
