    A. O. Smith recalls 30-gallon gas water heaters

    The flame arrestor can fail to work properly, posing a fire hazard

    A. O. Smith of Milwaukee, Wis., is recalling about 190 A. O. Smith 30 gallon gas water heaters, model number G6-UT3030N.

    The water heater’s flame arrestor can fail to work properly, posing a fire hazard.

    No incidents or injuries have been reported.

    This recall includes A. O. Smith 30-gallon natural gas water heaters with model number G6-UT3030NV and serial numbers with the first four digits of 1805 through 1809.

    A. O. Smith, the model number and the serial number are printed on the data plate located next to the gas water heater’s control valve/thermostat. A. O. Smith is printed near the top of the water heater.

    The water heaters, manufactured in the U.S., were sold exclusively at Lowe’s stores in California from February 2018, through April 2018, for between $540 and $610.

    What to do

    Consumers should immediately turn off and stop using the recalled water heaters and contact A. O. Smith to arrange for a free repair.

    Recchiuti Confections of San Francisco, Calif., is recalling two batches of Bittersweet Chocolate Bar and two batches of Feve Chocolate Bar.

    The products contain high levels of milk, an allergen not disclosed on the label.

    No illnesses have been reported to date.

    The following products, sold at Recchiuti Confections’ Ferry Building store and the Lab store in San Francisco, online at Recchiuti.com, and through wholesale partners, are being recalled:

    • Bittersweet Bar (UPC 8 19895 00017 6): Lot code 21418000 (Best By 7/2/19), Lot code 16518000 (Best By 5/14/19)

      TMC recalls Tuscany, Tuscany XTE, Venetian, Aria and Palazzo motorhomes

      The rear marker lights, brake lights or turn signals may not function

      Thor Motor Coach (TMC) is recalling 1,769 model year 2017 Tuscany XTE and model year 2017-2019 Venetian, Aria, Tuscany, and Palazzo motorhomes built on Freightliner Custom Chassis Corporation chassis.

      The Power Distribution Module may have been damaged during manufacturing, possibly resulting in the rear marker lights, brake lights, or turn signals not functioning, increasing the risk of a crash.

      What to do

      The remedy for this recall is still under development.

      Daimler Trucks North America, the manufacturer of the chassis began issuing owners an interim notification on October 24, 2018, and will send a second notification when parts become available.

      The recall began October 30, 2018.

      Lifetone Technology recalls bedside fire alarm and clocks

      The device can fail to operate and fully alert consumers to a fire

      Lifetone Technology of Oklahoma City, Okla., is recalling about 10,000 bedside fire alarms and clocks.

      The device can fail to operate and fully alert consumers to a fire.

      The firm has received 77 reports of alarms with a blank screen. No injuries have been reported.

      This recall involves Lifetone HLAC151 Bedside Fire Alarm and Clock with serial numbers ranging from AC160600001 through AC160604102 and AC170100001 through AC170106030 only. The serial number is printed on the left side of the silver sticker on the bottom of the unit.

      The bedside alarm and clock is an assistive alerting device intended for in-home use by individuals with hearing loss. The alarm detects the T3 emergency signal given by existing smoke alarms. When the T3 signal from a smoke alarm is detected, the alarm signals at a lower frequency, which may be better heard by individuals with mild to severe hearing loss.

      The alarm also gives spoken emergency signals “FIRE GET OUT” in both English and Spanish. Defective units continue to sound a low frequency emergency audio signal and spoken signal “FIRE GET OUT” in English and Spanish but the optional bed shaker, if attached, will not operate.

      The white, rectangle clock measures 8.5 inches wide by 4.2 inches high by 4.5 inches wide. The fire alarm and clock has “Lifetone” printed on the front of the unit and a digital display with the date, time and type of emergency. There is a large black dome-shaped microphone on the top left of the alarm.

      The bedside fire alarms and clocks, manufactured in China, were sold online at www.lifetonesafety.com for about $215 and installed by fire departments and the American Red Cross nationwide from November 2016, through September 2018.

      What to do

      Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled product if the digital display is not working and contact Lifetone Technology to receive a prepaid label for the return of the alarms and instructions on receiving a free replacement alarm.

      H.I.S. recalls girl’s clothing sets

      The metal pendant on the necklace contains high levels of lead

      H.I.S. International Group of New York is recalling about 4,400 girl’s clothing sets with a pendant necklace.

      The metal pendant on the necklace contains levels of lead that exceed the federal lead content ban. Lead is toxic if ingested by young children and can cause adverse health issues.

      No incidents or injuries have been reported.

      This recall involves Self-Esteem brand girl’s clothing sets with a gold leaf pendant necklace.

      The recalled clothing sets consists of three items: a short-sleeve teal top with cut-out shoulders, a navy blue legging pant with a teal floral print and a pendant necklace with an orange and teal center.

      The recalled clothing sets have style number PO#71160/LOT9 and a date of production of 10/2017 printed on a white label on the inside of the garment.

      The recalled product was sold in girl’s sizes 4x-12x.

      The clothing sets, manufactured in China, were sold at Burlington and Shopko stores nationwide from February 2018, through October 2018, for about $14.

      What to do

      Consumers should immediately stop using the necklace from the recalled clothing sets, take it away from children and return it to the place of purchase for a full refund.

      Sandoz recalls blood pressure medication

      A trace amount of an impurity was found in the product

      Sandoz is recalling one lot of Losartan Potassium Hydrochlorothiazide Tablets.

      The blood pressure medication, manufactured by Lek Pharmaceuticals dd of Ljubljana, Slovenia, contains a trace amount of an impurity, N-nitrosodiethylamine (NDEA), which has been classified as a probable human carcinogen.

      There are no reports to date of adverse events.

      The recalled product, which can be identified as Losartan Potassium Hydrochlorothiazide, 100 mg/25 mg tablets in 1000-count plastic bottles, NDC 0781-5207-10, Lot number JB8912; Exp. Date 06/2020, was shipped to distributors but not prior to October 8, 2018.

      This recall involves a plastic 350-ml children’s water bottle that come with a screw on solid color top with a pop up straw and handle. A barcode is printed on the price sticker located at the bottom of it.

      The turn signal and brake lights do not work properly

      Jayco is recalling 176 model year 2019 Jay Flight travel trailers.

      The turn signal and brake lights were wired incorrectly causing the lights to work intermittently, preventing other drivers from knowing the intentions of the vehicle.

      If the rear turn signals and brake lights do not operate as intended, other drivers will not be properly notified of stopping or turning, increasing the risk of a crash.

      What to do

      A. O. Smith recalls Ultra-Low NOx Water Heaters

      The water heater’s burner can create excess radiant heat

      A. O. Smith Corp., of Milwaukee, Wis., is recalling about 616,000 Ultra-Low NOx water heaters.

      If the water heater’s gas burner screen develops tears, the burner can create excess radiant heat, posing a fire hazard if the water heater is installed directly on a wood or other combustible floor.

      The firm has received six reports of fires occurring from a water heater installed directly on a combustible surface. No injuries have been reported.

      This recall includes 30, 40 and 50 gallon natural or propane gas-fired Ultra-Low NOx emission gas water heaters designed to comply with regulations in certain air quality districts in California, and were sold primarily in California.

      They were sold under the American, A. O. Smith, Kenmore, Reliance, State, U.S. Craftsmaster and Whirlpool brand names and manufactured from April 8, 2011, through August 1, 2016. Only water heaters with the first four digit serial numbers between 1115 and 1631, where the first four digits represent the year and week of production, are included in the recall.

      The brand name, model number and serial number can be found on the data plate on the product located next to the gas control valve/thermostat. The brand name is printed near the top of the water heater.

      Consumers may look up their water heater’s serial number to see if it is affected by this recall at www.waterheaterrecall.com.

      The water heaters, manufactured in the U.S. and Mexico, were sold at independent contractors, plumbers, plumbing supply vendors and at various home improvement and hardware stores primarily in California from April 2011, through December 2016, for between $500 and $1,000.

      What to do

      Consumers should immediately turn off and stop using the recalled water heaters and contact A. O. Smith to determine if a free repair is necessary.

      Consumers may contact the company at www.waterheaterrecall.com, input their model and serial number and complete the form to determine if their water heater is subject to this recall.

      MCS Industries recalls Glacier Bay medicine cabinets

      The mirror can detach from the medicine cabinet door,

      MCS Industries of Easton, Pa., is recalling about 15,400 Glacier Bay Bi-View medicine cabinets.

      The mirror can detach from the medicine cabinet door, posing a laceration hazard to consumers.

      The company has received 94 reports of mirrors detaching and breaking, including two reports of lacerations to hands and fingers and six reports of property damage.

      This recall involves Glacier Bay bi-view medicine cabinets that are 30 inches wide x 26 inches high and contain a silver beveled mirror.

      Only medicine cabinets that have one-piece, plastic brackets for the inside shelves are included in this recall.

      The medicine cabinets, manufactured in China, were sold at The Home Depot stores nationwide and online at homedepot.com from January 2018 through August 2018 for about $185.

      What to do

      Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled medicine cabinets and contact MCS for instructions on sending the product back to MCS free of charge and receiving a free replacement. MCS is contacting all known purchasers directly.
