    Forest River recalls model year 2019-2020 Cherokee trailers

    The federal placard contains incorrect weight information

    Forest River is recalling 70 model year 2019-2020 Cherokee trailers, model CKT294BH.

    The federal placard states incorrect Cargo Carrying Capacity (CCC) and Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) information, which may result in the trailer being overloaded.

    An operator relying on the incorrect information may overload the trailer causing a loss of control and increasing the risk of a crash.

    What to do

    Forest River has notified owners, providing replacement placards that contain accurate Gross Vehicle Weight Rating and Cargo Carrying Capacity information free of charge.

    The recall began June 24, 2019.

    Fairmont Foods recalls ready-to-eat pork and beef gravy

    The products may be contaminated with extraneous materials

    Fairmont Foods of Fairmont, Minn., is recalling approximately 35,145 pounds of ready-to-eat pork and beef gravy.

    The products may be contaminated with extraneous materials -- specifically clear pliable plastic.

    There are no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products.

    The following frozen, ready-to-eat pork and beef gravy item, produced on May 2, 2019, is being recalled:

    • 45-lb. cases containing nine 5-lb plastic bags of “Popeyes LOUISIANA KITCHEN PORK TASSO AND GROUND BEEF GRAVY” with Product Code 1F0112, Use By: 050220, and a time stamp ranging from 1615 to 0022.

    The recalled product, bearing establishment number “EST. 2WM” inside the USDA mark of inspection, was shipped to Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen restaurant locations in Louisiana.

    What to do

    Restaurants should not to serve the recalled product, but discard or return it to the place of purchase.

    There are concerns that the products may not be sterile

    Altaire Pharmaceuticals is recalling various over-the-counter (OTC) eye care products sold at Walgreens.

    Concerns have been raised regarding the sufficiency of Quality Assurance controls over critical systems in the manufacturing facility.

    Administration of a non-sterile product intended to be sterile may result in serious and potentially life threatening infections or death.

    The firm has received no reports of adverse events.

      A wheel may detach from the vehicle

      Mazda North American Operations is recalling 25,003 model year 2019 Mazda3s.

      The lug nuts on all four wheels may loosen, potentially resulting in a wheel detaching from the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.

      What to do

      Mazda will notify owners, and dealers will tighten the front and rear wheel lug nuts to the correct specification free of charge.

      The recall is expected to begin on or before August 6, 2019.

      Just Love Fashion recalls children’s pajama pants

      The garments fail to meet the federal flammability standard

      Just Love Fashion of New York, N.Y., is recalling about 1,400 children’s pajama pants.

      The garments fail to meet the flammability standard for children’s sleepwear, posing a risk of burn injuries.

      No incidents or injuries are reported.

      This recall involves Prince of Sleep-branded children’s 100 percent micro polyester fleece pajama pants.

      They were sold in a green football print in sizes 4 through 14/16.

      Prince of Sleep and the size are printed on the waistband’s top sewn-in label. GPU 12001 and FPU 10001 are printed on the label underneath.

      The pajama pants, manufactured in China, were sold online at Amazon.com and Ebay.com from August 2017, through March 2019, for between $6 and $13.

      What to do

      Consumers should immediately take the recalled pajama pants away from children and contact Just Love Fashion for instructions on receiving a full refund. Just Love Fashion is contacting all known purchasers directly.

      The block heater's wiring could become over heated or melt

      Forest River is recalling two model year 2017-2018 Berkshire Coach Ultra UL1912 and UL1913 motorhomes.

      Water and contaminants may get into the block heater cable's splice connector causing corrosion and damage.

      When the heater is plugged in, prolonged corrosion could cause a resistive short, increasing the risk of overheated or melted wiring which can increase the risk of a fire.

      What to do

      Forest River will notify owners, and Ford dealers will disable the vehicle's engine block heater cable free of charge.

      The recall is expected to begin July 24, 2019.

      Land Rover recalls Range Rovers and Range Rover Sports

      The doors may appear to be closed but may be unlatched

      Land Rover is recalling 65,385 model year 2013-2016 Range Rovers and model year 2014-2016 Range Rover Sports that were previously recalled in June 2015.

      Due to a problem with the Keyless Vehicle Latching System (KV Latch), the doors may appear to be closed but may be unlatched.

      The unlatched door may open while the vehicle is in motion, increasing the risk of a crash.

      What to do

      Land Rover will notify owners, and dealers will inspect for any issues with the KV system, disabling the KV mechanisms if necessary, and update the KV Latch software free of charge.

      The recall is expected to begin July 19, 2019.

      Dolan Northwest recalls chandeliers

      The chandelier could fall, posing an impact and laceration hazard

      Dolan Northwestof Portland, Ore., doing business as Seattle Lighting, Globe Lighting, Builders Lighting and Destination Lighting, is recalling about 260 Design Classics chandeliers.

      The top loop of the fixture can bend and break causing the chandelier to fall, posing an impact and laceration hazard.

      The firm has received four reports of the top loop failing causing the chandelier to fall, resulting in one report of property damage to the floor under the chandelier. No injuries have been reported.

      This recall involves Design Classics chandeliers with model number 161-78.

      The chandelier has nine individual light sockets and white glass cylinder shades over each socket. They are 28¼ inches tall and 31¼ inches wide with a Bronze finish.

      Model number 161-78 and the date of manufacture are printed on a label affixed to the underside of the ceiling canopy.

      Dates of manufacture included in the recall are between 01November2012 and 15November2015.

      The chandeliers, manufactured in China, were sold at Seattle Lighting, Globe Lighting and Builders Lighting showrooms in the Pacific Northwest and online at DestinationLighting.com from November 2012, through May 2017, for about $390.

      What to do

      Consumers should prevent people from going into the immediate area underneath the chandelier. Contact Dolan Northwest to receive a free repair.

      Gillette recalls Venus Simply3 disposable razors

      The blades in the razors are misaligned, posing a higher risk of cuts

      The Gillette Company of Boston, Mass., is recalling about 90,000 Venus Simply3 disposable razors sold in the U.S. and Canada.

      A problem during manufacturing resulted in the misalignment of the blades in the razors, posing a higher risk of cuts during normal use.

      The firm has received one report of a consumer who was cut while using the recalled razor.

      This recall involves Venus Simply3 disposable razors.

      The razors come in pink, purple, and yellow colors and were sold in two types of packages: a Venus Simply3 Disposable Razor 4-pack and a Daisy 12+1 Venus Simply3 Bonus Pack which included one free Venus Simply3 razor.

      The ten digit lot code can be found on the right or left side of the plastic package. The UPC number can be found inside the package adjacent to the bar code.

      BRP U.S. of Sturtevant, Wis., is recalling about 2,500 BRP Sea-Doo marine coolers.

      The cooler latch can automatically lock when the lid is closed, allowing a person to become locked inside the air tight container posing entrapment and suffocation hazards.

      No incidents or injuries are reported.

      This recall involves Sea-Doo LinQ 13.5-gallon or 51- liter marine coolers sold separately or with model year 2019 Sea-Doo Fish Pro personal watercraft. 

      The coolers are made for use on boats and marine environments.

      Part number 269800817 is engraved under the cooler and can also be found on a sticker under the cooler.

      The coolers are white with black storage pocket, rod holder system and trolling slots.

      The coolers, manufactured in the U.S., were sold at Sea-Doo dealers nationwide and online on sea-doo.com, Amazon.com, and other websites from September 2018 through June 2019 for about $650 when sold separately

      Maserati North America is recalling 739 model year 2015-2018 Granturismos and model year 2016-2018 Granturismo convertibles.

      The airbag Electronic Control Unit (ECU) may have a defective power supply capacitor that can cause a deactivation or inadvertent deployment of the airbag.

      A deactivated air bag increases the risk of injury. An inadvertent deployment of the air bag increases the risk of a crash.

      Apple recalls 15-Inch MacBook Pro laptop computers

      The batteries in the computers can overheat, posing a fire hazard

      Apple of Cupertino, Calif., is recalling about 460,000 15-inch MacBook Pro laptop computers in the U.S. And Canada.

      The batteries in the computers can overheat, posing a fire hazard.

      The firm has received 26 reports of the laptop’s battery overheating, including five reports of minor burns and one report of smoke inhalation, as well as 17 reports of minor damage to nearby personal property.

      This recall involves certain Apple 15-inch MacBook Pro laptop computers.

      The recalled laptops have a 15.4-inch (diagonal) display, 2.2-2.5 GHz processors, 256GB-1TB solid-state storage, two Thunderbolt 2 ports, two USB 3 ports, and one HDMI port.

      Consumers can determine if their laptop computer is included in this recall by checking the laptop’s serial number at https://support.apple.com/15-inch-macbook-pro-battery-recall/.

      The serial number can be found on the underside of the laptop computer or by choosing “About This Mac” from the Apple menu.

      Only MacBook Pro 15-inch model laptop computers with certain serial numbers are included.

      The laptops, manufactured in China, were sold at Apple stores and electronics stores nationwide, and online at www.apple.com from September 2015, through February 2017, starting at about $2,000.

      The wiring harness may disrupt electrical communications and disable the passenger front airbag, turn signals, and/or engine starting system.

      The passenger front airbag may not deploy, increasing the risk of injury. Inoperable turn signals prevent the driver from signaling to other drivers, increasing the risk of crash.

      The air bag Electronic Control Unit (ECU) may malfunction, possibly causing the non-deployment or improper deployment of the airbags and/or seat belt pretensioners.

      In the event of a crash, airbags and/or seat belt pretensioners that do not deploy as intended can increase the risk of injury.
