    ECHO and Shindaiwa backpack blowers recalled

    Plastic pieces can be expelled from the machine, posing laceration and impact hazards

    ECHO Incorporated is recalling about 2,772 ECHO and Shindaiwa backpack blowers with shoulder straps sold throughout Canada.

    Components can be drawn into the blower fan, causing plastic pieces to be expelled from the machine, posing laceration and impact hazards.

    No injuries are reported to date.

    This recall involves ECHO and Shindaiwa brand 2-cycle gas powered commercial backpack blowers with shoulder straps.

    The model and serial numbers can be found on the blower's engine block.

    The ECHO or Shindaiwa logo can be found on the shoulder strap, with the strap's part number located on the plastic packaging housing the strap at the time of sale.

    The blowers, manufactured in the U.S., were sold from August, 2018, to January, 2020.

    What to do

    Consumers should immediately stop using the backpack blower and contact their local authorized ECHO or Shindaiwa service dealer for free repair.

    Denso recalls 2 million fuel pumps

    The pump may fail and cause an engine stall

    Denso International America is recalling 2,020,000 fuel pumps.

    An impeller within the low pressure fuel pump may crack and deform, potentially causing the fuel pump to fail.

    Failure of a fuel pump can cause the engine to stall while the vehicle is being driven, increasing the risk of a crash.

    What to do

    Denso has notified the affected vehicle and aftermarket equipment manufacturers who will conduct recalls as necessary to replace the fuel pumps.

    The recall schedule will be decided by vehicle manufacturers.

    Terex recalls TL80 and TL80/112 aerial devices

    The vehicles have incorrect slope indicators and decals

    Terex South Dakota is recalling 43 model year 2019-2020 TL80 and TL80/112 aerial devices.

    The installed slope indicator and decals incorrectly state that the chassis can be five degrees out of level for aerial device use.

    If the aerial device is used with the chassis out of level it may result in an unstable condition which may cause the unit to tip, increasing the risk of injury to the operator and any bystanders.

    What to do

    Terex will notify owners, and dealers will replace the incorrect slope indicator and decals free of charge.

    The recall is expected to begin on May 14, 2020.

      Pendopharm recalls Axid

      The medication is contaminated with a probable cancer-causer

      The Pendopharm Division of Pharmascience is recalling two lots of Axid (nizatidine) from the Canadian market.

      The product, used to treat ulcers in the stomach and intestine, as well as heartburn, is contaminated with N-nitrosodimethylamine (NDMA), a probable cancer-causer.

      The NDMA levels in the two lots being recalled are not higher than acceptable limits at this time, but could increase with time.

      Medifast recalls OPTAVIA Essential Old Fashioned Maple & Brown Sugar Oatmeal

      The product may contain milk, an allergen not declared on the label

      Medifast of Baltimore, Md., is recalling 24,923 boxes of OPTAVIA Essential Old Fashioned Maple & Brown Sugar Oatmeal.

      The product may contain traces of milk, an allergen not declared on the label.

      The company has received one complaint from a customer.

      The recalled product is packaged in yellow and white cardboard boxes containing seven individual 32-gram serving packets.

      The lot numbers are RP1048870, RP1048871 and RP1048886 with “Best By” dates of January 8, 2021, January 8, 2021, and January 9, 2021 -- respectively -- stamped on the back.

      It was shipped to customers throughut the U.S., from January 23, 2020, to April 27, 2020, throughout the United States.

      What to do

      Consumers who purchased the recalled product should not consume it, but discard it.

      Epson recalls power adapters sold with Epson scanners

      The power adapters can overheat, melt and catch fire

      Epson America of Long Beach, Calif., is recalling about 340,000 power adapters sold with Epson scanners sold in the U.S., and Canada.

      The power adapters can overheat, melt and catch fire, posing burn and fire hazards.

      The firm is aware of 15 incidents worldwide of the adaptor melting or catching fire, resulting in property damage. No injuries have been reported.

      This recall involves the power adapter sold with Epson V-series (V30/V33/V37/V300/V330/V370) scanners.

      The recalled adapters are black with a power cord that connects to the scanner and to an electrical outlet. “EPSON” and internal part code “EADP-16CB B” are printed on the label of the adaptor.

      The Adapters, manufactured in China, and scanners, manufactured in Indonesia, were sold at Best Buy, Office Depot, Staples, Walmart, and department stores nationwide from January 2010, through December 2015, for between $55 and $80 for the scanner and adapter.

      Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled adapters and contact Epson to receive a free replacement.

      The outer packaging indicates that the product is Cheese variety, while the individually-wrapped product in the package is Peanut Butter variety.

      The outer carton does, however, provide an allergen advisory statement indicating that the product “May contain peanuts.”

      Modular Robotics recalls rechargeable battery packs

      The battery packs can short circuit, causing them to overheat

      Modular Robotics of Boulder, Colo., and Dexter Industries of Restin, W.Va., are recalling about 2,400 rechargeable battery packs.

      The battery packs can short circuit, causing them to overheat, posing a burn hazard to consumers.

      Modular Robotics has received four reports of the rechargeable battery packs smoking and overheating. No injuries have been reported.

      This battery pack is a 9.6V 2000Ah NiMH battery pack with Max Charge Current 2A and is wrapped in black plastic.

      It was sold individually, and also within Classroom Kits and GoPiGo and BrickPi robotic bundles.

      “Dexter Industries Rechargeable Battery Pack” is printed on a white label on the battery pack.

      The battery packs, manufactured in China, was sold online at Dexterindustries.com from March 2018, through January 2020, for about $38.

      What to do

      Consumers should immediately stop using the rechargeable battery packs, contact Modular Robotics for a free replacement battery pack, and safely dispose of the defective product by following local laws for disposal of the batteries.

      The Agriculture Department ’s Food Safety and Inspection Service is issuing a public health alert for 34,200 pounds of ready-to-eat chicken noodle soup produced by RCK Foods of Kenosha, Wis.

      The product contains egg, an allergen not declared on the label.

      A recall was not requested because it is believed that the product is no longer available for purchase.

      There are no confirmed reports of adverse reactions.

      The following item, produced on March 11, 2020, is subject to the public health alert:

      • 15-oz. plastic cups containing “Fresh FOODS MARKET CLASSIC CHICKEN NOODLE SOUP” with a best by date 6/9/2020 and lot code 425798031120.

      The product, bearing establishment number “P-33997” inside the USDA mark of inspection, was sold by Kroger stores nationwide.

      Jayco is recalling 1,641 model year 2020 Jay Flight SLX Travel Trailers manufactured in its Idaho facility.

      The propane supply hose connection to the refrigerator may be improperly tightened, possibly resulting in a propane leak.

      A propane leak can increase the risk of an explosion or fire.

      What to do

      Jayco will notify owners, and dealers will conduct a leak test at the refrigerator connections, repairing them -- as necessary -- free of charge.

      The recall is expected to begin May 29, 2020.

      Triumph Motorcycles America is recalling 3,691 of the following motorcycles:

      • Model year 2018-2020 Street Triple RS, Tiger 1200 XCx & Tiger 1200 XCA,
      • Model year 2019-2020 Speed Triple S & Speed Triple RS,

      The front brake pads may corrode, potentially causing the friction material to detach from the backing plate.

      Bellman & Symfon recalls flash receivers

      The unit may fail to alert in an emergency

      Bellman & Symfon North America of Wilmington, N.C., is recalling about 450 flash receivers for the hearing impaired.

      The back-up battery can fail to charge fully, resulting in the receiver not working as intended and failing to flash to alert the hearing-impaired to an emergency.

      No incidents or injuries are reported.

      This recall involves the Flash Receiver (BE1442 MHz), which is sold as a part of the Bellman & Symfon’s Visit smart home system.

      The flash receivers are intended to assist hearing-impaired consumers by alerting them with bright flashes of light when the doorbell or telephone rings or if a fire alarm sounds.

      The white devices measure about six inches tall and three inches wide and sits on a white cylinder base. The Bellman & Symfon logo is printed on the front of the unit.

      Only Bellman & Symfon flash receivers with following serial numbers are included in the recall:

      The cargo winch mount may fail

      Lode-King Industries is recalling 43 model year 2015-2021 Prestige SDG53-2 step-deck semi-trailers.

      The cargo securing winches may not be mounted to the trailer properly. As a result, they could fail and allow cargo to come loose.

      If the mount fails, the cargo or load can fall off the trailer and become a road hazard, increasing the risk of a crash.

      What to do

      Lode-King will notify owners, and dealers will replace the cargo winches with an updated version free of charge.
