Splendid Recalls Girls Hooded Jackets, Vest Sets
Drawstrings create a strangulation hazard
Splendid is recalling about 900 girls' hooded zip jackets and vest sets. The hooded zip jackets and the vest sets have drawstrings through the hoods which can pose a strangulation or entrapment hazard to children.
This recall involves girl's hooded zip jackets with style # SJ6J7831 and long sleeve t-shirt with hooded vest sets with style # SJYK7935. The zip jackets were sold in camouflage, jasmine, parfait and royal. The vest sets were sold in black, caviar, denim, electric pink, macadamia, peacock, quartz and sapphire. The style number can be found on the care label located at the inside left side seam. "Splendid†can be found on the neck label.
Major department stores and children's boutiques sold the items nationwide from August 2010 through November 2010 for between $80 and $90. The jackets and vests were made in the United States.
Consumers should immediately remove the drawstrings from the hoods of the zip jackets and vest sets to eliminate the hazard or contact Splendid for instructions on how to return the items for a full refund.

Sterno Recalls Portable Butane Stoves
The on-off valve can malfunction
Sterno is recalling about 37,500 portable butane stoves. The stove's "on-off" valve can fail to close completely when turned to the "off" position, causing butane to leak from the stove. This poses a fire and burn hazard to consumers.
Sterno has received one report of a stove failing to completely shut off. No injuries have been reported.
The recalled portable butane stoves have model numbers STO6001 and 50006. The single burner stoves are black and measure about 14 inches wide x 12 inches long x 4 inches high. They use an eight-ounce butane canister as the fuel source. "Sterno†is printed on the front of the stove. The model number and UPC 0-27371-50006-9 or UPC 0-76642-06001-6 is printed on the stove's packaging.
Sporting goods stores and other retail stores sold the stoves nationwide, including Puerto Rico, from September 2009 through September 2010, and to restaurants and restaurant supply stores from August 2006 through September 2010 for between $20 and $30. The stoves were made in China.
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled portable butane stoves and contact Sterno for instructions to return the units to Sterno for a free replacement stove. Do not return the stoves to the place of purchase.

Chrysler is recalling about 367,000 vans from the 2008 model year to fix a problem with a water leak.

Substandard wiring poses shock and fire risk
CDX Group is recalling about 1,600 desk and table lamps. Substandard electrical wiring, connections and plugs in these lamps pose a fire and shock risk to consumers.
This recall involves eight different desk and table lamps including item numbers 207, 303, 9774, 1108, 1109, 049-1, 054-8 and 2001-271B. The item numbers are printed on the lamps' packaging.
The lamps were sold by CDX Group's showroom, New Chens Discount, Concordia Trading Inc. and Grace Mini Market in Brooklyn, N.Y. and Dollar King in Lexington, Ky. from April 2010 through July 2010 for between $5 and $10. They were made in China.

Extech Recalls Clamp Meters and Multimeters
Users face an electrocution hazard
Extech is recalling about 5,100 digital clamp meters and multimeters. When the battery runs low, the meters can fail to give an accurate voltage reading, resulting in the operator falsely believing the electrical power is off or low. This poses an electrocution hazard.

received one report of a meter displaying an incorrect voltage
reading. No injuries have been reported.
This recall involves Extech digital clamp meters with model numbers EX612, EX613, EX622 and EX623 and multimeters with model numbers EX540, EX542 and EX570. "Extech†and the model number can be found on the front of the product and the serial number on the rear. Serial numbers that begin with "A" are not included in the recall.
Industrial and electrical distributors and wholesalers nationwide and at online tool and test equipment retailers sold the instruments, which were made in China, from January 2008 to November 2010 for between $150 and $300.
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled digital clamp meters and multimeters and contact Extech for a free replacement meter.

Ryobi Recalls Portable Table Saws
The blade may be misaligned.
Ryobi is recalling about 21,500 RTS20 portable table-saws. The saw blade on the motor carriage could be misaligned, posing a laceration hazard.
The company received one report of a consumer being hit by a piece of metal during the cutting operation. There was no report of a physical injury or property damage.
This recall involves the RTS20 Ryobi ten-inch, portable table-saw. The table saw has a blue base and warning label with the model RTS20 and the Ryobi name printed on it and attached to the rear of the saw.
Home Depot retail outlets sold the saws nationwide and Canada from July 2010 through October 2010 for about $200. The saws were made in China.
Consumers should contact Ryobi immediately to receive a free inspection of their product and, if necessary, a free repair or replacement of their RTS20 Ryobi table-saw.

Yours Truly Frozen Desert Cones Recalled
Cones are labeled as milk-free but may have trace milk contamination
Tofutti Brands Inc. has announced a precautionary recall of 25 pallets of its 4-Pack YOURS TRULY frozen dessert cones (UPC 0-20188-01500-9) due to possible trace level milk contamination reported for one lot of product shipped which was produced in August of 2010.
YOURS TRULY CONES are labeled as Milk Free and persons who have an allergy or severe sensitivity or intolerance to Milk products run the risk of serious or life-threatening injury if they consume products with milk ingredients.
The 25 pallets from the suspect lot are being recalled. The bulk of these 25 pallets were sold along the east coast and the Midwest. None of the suspected lot was sold to any west coast distributors or stores.
The product in the above 25 pallets is identified by the labeled Manufacturing facility code 18-497 which will appear printed on one of the two end flaps of the box of the YOURS TRULY CONES along with a production code of either 2330 or 2350, which will follow right after the plant code.
Consumers who may have purchased YOURS TRULY CONES bearing these codes are urged to return them to the place of purchase for a full refund. This recall does not involve any of the Company's other frozen dessert products. Foreign materials
The action follows consumer reports of foreign materials in the product, including metal and wood particles. An investigation by the company has determined that the materials were potentially introduced into the product during the manufacturing process at a third party manufacturer.
McNeil says that while the risk of serious adverse health consequences is remote, consumers who have purchased these recalled products should stop using them.
Production of the recalled products has been halted and McNeil says it will not restart production until corrective actions have been implemented.

Technique Cast Iron Skillets Sold by QVC Recalled
Enamel paint can chip off
QVC is recalling about 7,500 Technique enamel-coated cast iron skillets. Small pieces of the enamel coating can pop off when the skillet is heated, posing a burn hazard to consumers.
The firm has received five reports of enamel popping off of the skillet, resulting in two reports of consumers receiving minor burns.
This recall involves Technique brand enamel-coated 8-inch cast iron skillets with two pour spouts and a ribbed underside. The interior portion of the skillet is cream while the exterior was sold in three colors: sage, blue and red. The brand "Technique" is printed on the bottom of the pans.
The skillers were sold through QVC's televised shopping programs, at qvc.com, and QVC retail and employee stores from August 2009 through September 2010 for between $28 and $35. They were made in China.
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled skillets. Known purchasers were mailed instructions for obtaining a full refund. Consumers who purchased the skillets at a QVC store should return the skillets to any QVC store for a full refund.

Running Waters Fisheries Recalls Smoked Trout, Salmon
Recalled fish may be contaminated with Listeria
Rushing Waters Fisheries, Palmyra, Wisconsin, is recalling about 225 pounds of smoked trout and smoked salmon spreads, because the products may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.
No illnesses have been reported from eating this product. The contamination was discovered through routine testing conducted by the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade, and Consumer Protection.
The recalled products are smoked trout spread labeled lot number 00694 with a sell-by date of Dec 13, and smoked salmon spread labeled with lot 50012 with a sell-by date of Dec 11. Lot numbers and dates are on the bottom of the container. Affected smoked fish spreads were sold in eight-ounce containers and 4.5-pound round plastic tubs in southern Wisconsin and northern Illinois.
Consumers who have this product in their refrigerator can discard it or return it to the place of purchase for a refund. For more information contact Rushing Waters at 1-800-378-7088.
Only the smoked fish spreads with the matching lots and dates are being recalled; no other Rushing Waters Fisheries LLC products are included in the recall.
Most healthy individuals are either unaffected by Listeria or experience mild flulike symptoms. However, it can cause complications in pregnant women and have more serious effects on newborns, older adults and people with compromised immune systems.

Rachael Ray Recalls Teakettles
Water can spill, posing a burn hazard
Meyer Corp. is recalling about 59,000 Rachael Ray brand two-quart teakettles. Water heated in the teakettles can spill and spray while being poured, posing a burn hazard.
The firm received eight complaints regarding the spilling of hot water from the teakettle's spout. Four of the complaints included reports of burn injuries.
The recalled product is a Rachael Ray brand two quart teakettle. The teakettle has a stainless steel lid with a black handle and comes in four body colors: orange, blue, green and yellow. The teakettle's spout is opened by pushing forward a small black sliding piece on the teakettle's handle.
The teakettles were sold at a variety of department, housewares and gourmet kitchen stores and at discount and online retailers. The teakettles were sold from December 2008 through October 2010 for between $18 and $40. They were made in Thailand.
Consumers should immediately stop using this product. Known consumers were mailed instructions for obtaining a replacement. Consumers should contact the firm to arrange for a replacement teakettle.

The tent floor is flammable
Target Stores is recalling about 1,500 Circo Children's Camping Combo Packs. The floor of the tent failed a flammability test and poses a fire hazard.
The recall involves one model of the Circo Space Combo pack, which includes a children's tent, sleeping bag, backpack and a headlamp. The tent is green and dark blue with planets, stars and figures printed on it. The packing box has the UPC number: 490911500926, DPCI: 091-15-0092.

Red Cross Cabinet Swing Locks Recalled
The locks can break, giving children access to hazardous substances
The installed latches can break and children could gain access to contents of a cabinet, posing the risk of exposure to hazardous items.
The First Years has received seven reports of latches breaking. No injuries have been reported.
This recall involves The First Years American Red Cross cabinet swing locks with item number Y7181. The latches are mounted on cabinets or drawers to help prevent young children from gaining access and were sold two per blister card. An America Red Cross logo and "cabinet swing lock" is printed on the package. "American Red Cross" is molded onto the front of the lock. A date code is printed on the bottom of the back of the package and on the back side of each latch just above the connection point.
The locks were sold by Toys R Us, Babies R Us and other retail stores nationwide and on the Internet from September 2008 through September 2010 for about $4 per pair. They were made in China.
Consumers should immediately remove the latches from cabinets, record the date code on the back of each latch and contact The First Years to obtain a $5 coupon toward the purchase of another Learning Curve product. When removing the latches, consumers should take special care to store hazardous items out of reach of children.
