    An unsecured refrigerator wire may melt

    Grand Design RV is recalling 43,421 model year 2013-2021 Momentum, Solitude, and Reflection recreational vehicles.

    A 110-volt wire in the refrigerator cabinet may be improperly secured, which could result in the wire contacting the refrigerator cooling unit, causing an electrical arc.

    An electrical arc increases the risk of a fire.

    What to do

    Dealers will inspect and replace any damaged wiring and properly secure the wires free of charge.

    Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed on February 21, 2022.

    The company has not received any reports of adverse events.

    The recalled product, lot 2107 with an expiration date of 07/2024, is packaged in 10-count blister cards. It was sold on the internet and fulfilled by Amazon.

    What to do

    Customers who purchased the recalled product should stop using it.

    Samsung SDI is recalling 1,163 High Voltage Battery Packs, including part numbers LX68-10C790-G-PIA3AB, LX68-10C790-G-PIA3AD, 05193168AG, 05193168AH, LX68-10C790-G-PIA3AC, 05193168AE, and 05193168AF.

    The high voltage battery may fail, resulting in a sudden loss of drive power.

    A sudden loss of drive power increases the risk of a crash.

    What to do

    Samsung SDI will notify and work with the affected vehicle manufacturers to replace the HV battery pack free of charge.

    The manufacturer has not yet provided a schedule for recall notification.

      Fire risk prompts recall of Kia K900s and Sportages

      An electrical short could result in an engine compartment fire

      Kia Motors America is recalling 126,747 model year 2016-2018 K900s and model year 2014-2016 Sportages.

      The Hydraulic Electronic Control Unit (HECU) module could malfunction and cause an electrical short, which could result in an engine compartment fire.

      An engine compartment fire while the vehicle is parked or being driven can increase the risk of injury.

      What to do

      Owners are advised to park outside and away from structures until the recall repair is complete. Dealers will install a new fuse for the HECU circuit board free of charge.

      Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed on March 31, 2022.

      Harley-Davidson recalls Pan America and Sportster motorcycles

      The instrument cluster may malfunction

      Harley Davidson Motor Company is recalling 3,917 model year 2021 Pan America 1250S (RA1250S), 2021 Pan America 1250 (RA1250), and Sportster S (RH1250S) motorcycles.

      The instrument cluster module may not display the speedometer and neutral indicator at start-up when the module is below freezing temperatures.

      Operating a motorcycle without a visible speedometer or neutral indicator may increase the risk of a crash.

      What to do

      Dealers will update the instrument cluster module software free of charge.

      Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed on February 8, 2022.

      BFG North Carolina recalls chest of drawers

      The dressers are unstable if not anchored to the wall, posing a tip-over hazard

      BFG North Carolina of High Point, N.C., is recalling about 1,380 River Street Five-Drawer Chests.

      The dressers are unstable if not anchored to a wall, posing tip-over and entrapment hazards that may result in death or serious injuries to children.

      The dressers do not comply with the performance requirements of the U.S. voluntary industry standard. No incidents or injuries are reported.

      This recall involves River Street Five-Drawer Chests, sold in mocha and graphite.

      The chests measure about 46.25 inches tall, 35.15 inches wide, and 16.9 inches deep. “INDD 2425-6 CHEST,” SKU number 32624252 (mocha) or “INDD 423-6 CHEST," “Made in Brazil," SKU number 32624238 (graphite), and the manufacture date in month/day/year format are printed on a label on the back of unit along with the words “Manufacturer – Industria de Moveis Rotta Ltda.”

      The chests were manufactured between December 2018, and October 2021, and were sold at Rooms To Go stores nationwide and online at www.roomstogo.com from February 2019, through October 2021, for about $600.

      What to do

      Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled chests and contact Rooms To Go for a free in-home repair by trained technicians. Other options include free replacement or a full refund of the purchase price in the form of a Rooms To Go store credit, including free pick-up of the chest.

      The garments do not meet federal flammability standards

      BAOPTEIL of China is recalling about 3,800 children’s robes.

      The garments fail to meet the federal flammability standards for children’s sleepwear, posing a risk of burn injuries.

      No incidents or injuries are reported.

      This recall involves BAOPTEIL-branded children’s 100% micro-polyester (fleece) robes sold in various colors, patterns, and sizes 2T through 14 Years.

      The long-sleeved, hooded robes have two front pockets and a sewn-in, side-seam matching belt.

      “Made in China,” the size, the fiber content, and the washing instructions are printed on a sewn-in, side-seam label.

      The robes were sold exclusively online at www.Amazon.com from December 2019, through August 2021, for between $6 and $19.

      What to do

      Consumers should immediately take the recalled robes away from children and stop using them.

      Consumers who purchased the robes from Amazon will be contacted through Amazon’s messaging platform and provided prepaid mailers to return the robes for a full refund.

      Johnson Health Tech recalls Matrix T1 and T3 commercial treadmills

      The power cord can become loose from the treadmill’s power socket

      Johnson Health Tech North America of Cottage Grove, Wisc., is recalling about 18,900 Matrix T1 and T3 series commercial treadmills sold in the U.S. and Canada.

      The power cord can become loose from the treadmill’s power socket, posing a fire hazard.

      Matrix Fitness has received 58 reports of the treadmill’s power cord and socket sparking, smoking, and/or melting, including seven reports of fire -- two resulting in property damage. No injuries have been reported.

      This recall involves the Matrix Fitness T1X, T1xe, T3x, and T3xh treadmills.

      The treadmill has a running platform that measures 60 inches long by 20 inches wide, a 33-inch-wide console, and a straight power cord with no power cord bracket.

      Matrix is printed on the treadmill console masts. The model name and the serial number are located on the connecting bar at the bottom of the machine near the power socket.

      The serial number is comprised of the letters TM, a three-digit model number, the manufacture date in YY/MM format, followed by a five-digit serial.

      The recalled treadmills were manufactured from January 2009, through January 2018. A list of the recalled models and serial numbers may be found here.

      The treadmills, manufactured in China and Taiwan, were sold at Johnson Health Tech North America and Johnson Fitness & Wellness stores nationwide and online at www.MatrixFitness.com from August 2009, through October 2020, for between $3,400 and $8,900.

      What to do

      Exercise facilities should ensure that the power cord is completely inserted into the power socket on the treadmills prior to each use until they can be repaired.

      The link strut that connects the rear suspension to the frame may have insufficient strength, which can cause the link strut to become damaged.

      A damaged link strut can cause the rear of the motorcycle to contact the rear wheel, affecting riding stability and control, and increasing the risk of a crash.

      Tenneco Automotive (DRiV) is recalling 6,478 aftermarket ball joints for model year 2004-2007 Toyota Sequoias and model year 2004-2006 Toyota Tundra. It affects MOOG part number K80521 and K80522; NAPA part number NCP2601633 and NCP2601634; and ACDelco part number 45D2344 and 45D2345.

      The ball joint housing may have inadequate hardness, causing premature failure. A ball joint failure may cause a loss of control and increase the risk of a crash.

      The loungers can collapse unexpectedly, posing an injury hazard

      Family Dollar of Chesapeake, Va., is recalling about 38,300 beach loungers.

      The loungers can collapse unexpectedly, posing an injury hazard if fingers get caught in the metal folding joints.

      No incidents or injuries have been reported.

      This recall involves beach lounge chairs with a white metal frame and either red or blue woven plastic fabric.

      The lounge chairs have a hangtag that is intended to be removed after purchase. It states “Outdoors by Design” on one side and “Distributed by Midwoods Brands LLC” on the other side, along with either SKU 3499631 or SKU 3401281 above the bar code.

      In addition, SKU 3499631 has a sewn-in label stating “Outdoors by Design” at the top and “Midwoods Brands LLC” near the bottom. SKU 3401281 has a sewn-in label stating “WARNING” and “DO NOT REMOVE THIS TAG” near the top and “MADE IN CHINA” at the bottom.

      The loungers were sold at Family Dollar stores nationwide and online at www.familydollar.com from January 2019, through September 2021, for about $25.

      What to do

      Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled beach loungers and return them to a Family Dollar store for a full refund. Consumers may also email Family Dollar for instructions to make the beach lounger unusable. Afterward, they can provide Family Dollar with a photo to confirm that the lounger is unusable to receive a refund.
