Engines in the affected vehicles may contain debris

Toyota is recalling around 102,000 late-model pickup trucks and SUVs because debris may enter the engine and cause it to stall. A stalled engine increases the risk of a crash.

The recall notice includes various 2022-2023 model-year Toyota Tundra pickup trucks and Lexus LX600 SUVs equipped with a V35A six-cylinder engine. The company said Debris from the manufacturing process may contaminate the engine and cause the main bearings to fail.

Toyota said one way to tell if an engine has debris is if there is loud engine knocking or rough, uneven performance.

You can find out if your vehicle is included in the recall by clicking here and entering your license plate number of VIN.

Toyota is working on a remedy and will inform owners of record by late July.
