Kia recalls thousands of Tellurides because of fire risk

Kia recalls 462,869 Telluride SUVs (2020-2024) due to fire risk. Owners advised to park outside until repaired - Kia

Kia says the vehicles should be parked outside until repaired

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has announced that Kia is recalling 462,869 model year 2020-2024 Telluride vehicles because of a risk of fire. The company has told owners the vehicles should be parked outside until repaired.

The front power seat motor on the affected vehicles could overheat because of a stuck power seat slide knob, potentially resulting in a fire and increasing the risk of injury. Kia says a fire can occur when the vehicles are being driven or when they are parked.

To fix the issue, dealers will install a bracket for the power seat switch back covers and replace the seat slide knobs, free of charge.
