Ford Motor Company is recalling 18,808 model year 2017-2018 Super Duty F-250s, F-350s and F-450 4x4s.
A radial damper inside the driveshaft may move out of position over time, which can cause a driveshaft imbalance and result in a fracture and cause a loss of drive power.
Additionally, a vehicle could roll away while parked if the parking brake is not engaged.
Either of these can increase the risk of a crash.
What to do
Dealers will replace the driveshaft, free of charge.
Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed January 9, 2023.
