    Residential Elevators recalls home elevators

The elevator has a child entrapment hazard

Residential Elevators of Tallahassee, Fla., is recalling about 31,000 residential elevators.

Young children can become trapped in the space between the exterior landing (hoistway) door and the interior elevator car door or gate if there is a hazardous gap. This can cause them to suffer serious injuries or death when the elevator is called to another floor.

This recall involves Residential Elevators residential elevator models Easy Rider, Horizon Lift, Luxury Lift, Luxury Lift Hydraulic, Luxury Lift Traction, and RE. The Residential Elevators brand name is printed on the light in the operating panel inside the elevator cab. The elevators are used in consumers’ homes.

The elevators, manufactured in the U.S., were sold directly to consumers and by authorized dealers nationwide from 1986 through July 2022, for between $20,000 and $35,000, including installation.

    What to do

Consumers should keep unsupervised young children away from the recalled elevators and contact Residential Elevators for instructions on how to measure for space guards to correct any hazardous gaps.

Harley-Davidson recalls luggage carrier conversion kits

The turn signal indicator lights may malfunction

Harley-Davidson Motor Company is recalling 2,055 Detachable Tour-Pak Luggage Carrier Conversion Kits -- part numbers 53000916 & 53000917 -- installed on model year 2014-2022 Touring and CVO Touring motorcycles.

When the kit is disconnected from the wiring harness, the turn signal indicator lights may continuously flash fast and not adjust the frequency to alert the operator of a turn signal light failure.

Turn signal indicator lights that fail to alert the operator of a turn signal light failure can increase the risk of a crash.

      What to do

Dealers will replace the kits, free of charge.

Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed on August 15, 2022.

Owners may contact Harley-Davidson customer service at (800) 258-2464. Harley-Davidson's number for this recall is 0633.
