Ford Motor Company has issued a recall for 310,000 of its large, construction-capable pickup trucks. Once again, an airbag issue is responsible for the recall.

Included in the recall are model year 2016  F-250, F-350, F-450, and F-550 Super Duty trucks. The issue stems from accumulating dust in a cable that can interfere with an important electrical connection in the steering wheel that can prevent the airbag from inflating properly

Remedy

Dealers will replace the steering wheel clock spring, free of charge. An interim owner notification letter informing owners of the safety risk was mailed on July 6, 2022. Remedy parts are expected to become available in the 1st Quarter of 2023. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 22S35.
