    Fresh Express recalls expired salad kits

    The products may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes

    Fresh Express is recalling a limited quantity of three varieties of already-expired branded and private label salad kits produced at its Morrow, Ga., facility.

    The products may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.

    No illnesses have been reported.

    The following products are being recalled:

    • Fresh Express Caesar Chopped Kit in a 9.4 oz bag, UPC 00071279309194, product Code G075 and a use by date of 4/2/2023;
    • Fresh Express Chopped Kit Chipotle Cheddar in an 11.3 oz bag, UPC 00071279306049, product code G075 and a use by date of 4/2/2023;
    • Publix Makoto Honey Ginger Salad Kit in an 8.75 bag, UPC 00071279309194, product code G075 and a use by date of 3/31/2023.

    They were sold at retail stores in Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia.

    What to do

    Customers who purchased the recalled products should not consume them, but discard or return them to the place of purchase for a refund.

    Hyundai recalls 167,000 model year 2021-2023 Palisades

    The windshield wipers may fail, reducing visibility

    Hyundai Motor America is recalling 167,085 model year 2021-2023 Palisades, expanding an earlier recall.

    The windshield wiper motor may operate intermittently or fail to operate due to snow or ice buildup on the windshield, causing the wipers to fail.

    Failure of the windshield wipers can reduce visibility, increasing the risk of a crash.

    What to do

    Dealers will replace the driver-side windshield wiper arm free of charge.

    Letters to owners notifying them of the recall should be in the mail May 16, 2023.

    JBM recalls 5,300 adult bike helmets

    The helmets can fail to protect in a crash

    JBM International Electric of Newark, Del., is recalling about 5,300 adult bike helmets.

    The recalled helmets do not comply with the positional stability and labeling and certification requirements of the federal safety standard for bicycle helmets.

    Thus, they can fail to protect in the event of a crash, posing a risk of head injury.

    No incidents or injuries are reported

    This recall involves JBM International Adult Bike Helmets, labeled as “free size,” fitting a head circumference of about 22 ¾ to 24 ¼ inches.

    The helmets were sold in Black/Black, Pink/Black, Green/White, Yellow/Black, Orange/Black, Red /Black, Red/White, Black/White, Blue/White, Purple/Yellow, Silver. They have black and silver straps and a red buckle.

    “JBM” and an accompanying logo are printed on the sides of the helmet. Batch code JPG-89 is printed on a label on the inside of the helmet. The model and date can be found on a separate label on the inside of the helmet.

    Models JBM-A51, JBM-A53, JBM-A96, JBM-A97, JBM-A98, JBM-A99, JBM-A100, JBM-A101, JBM-A252, JBM-A253, JBM-A254, and JBM-A255 with production date 202110 are included in this recall.

    The helmets, manufactured in China, were sold online at Amazon.com from March 2022 through January 2023 for about $24.

    What to do

    Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled helmets and contact JBM International for a full refund.

    Consumers should destroy the recalled helmet by cutting off the straps and email a photo of the helmet with the straps cut off to jbmgearcs@gmail.com, then dispose of the recalled helmets after submitting proof of destruction.

    JBM International is contacting all known purchasers directly.

      The lift may fall or drop the motorcycle.

      Harbor Freight Tools is recalling 41,715 Central Hydraulics High Position Motorcycle Lifts -- part number 99887.

      Lexmark recalls 27,000 Solexio Hair Stylers

      The cord can detach if the unit is dropped posing an electrocution or shock hazard

      Lexmark Ventures of Lexington, Ky., is recalling about 26,830 STYLR Hair Stylers.

      The cord on the hair stylers can detach if the unit is dropped, posing an electrocution or shock hazard.

      No incidents or injuries are reported.

      This recall involves Solexio STYLR Hair Stylers, which can be used to straighten hair.

      The stylers are black with either a pink or gray colored handle, controls and lock switches with matching color on the power cord.

      They are approximately 11 inches long, 1.4 inches in diameter and weigh about 14.5 ounces.

      Product number “78T0100” for pink models and product number “78T0300” for gray models is printed on a black and gray label inside the barrel of the stylers.

      Affected models have a date code between 147 and 253. The date code is the middle three numbers of the serial number, which starts with 8081.

      The serial number is located below the product number on the silver and black label inside the barrel of the stylers.

      The stylers, manufactured in China, were sold online at www.solexio.com and at professional salons and trade shows from December 2021, through February 2023, for about $300.

      What to do

      Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled hair stylers and contact Solexio or the retailer or distributor from whom they purchased the product for a full refund.

      VW recalls 143,000 Atlas and 2020 Atlas Cross Sport vehicles

      The front passenger airbag may not deploy

      Volkswagen Group of America is recalling 143,053 model year 2018-2021 Atlas and model year 2020 Atlas Cross Sport vehicles.

      The passenger occupant detection system (PODS) may have a fault in the wiring and deactivate the front passenger airbag when the seat is occupied.

      A passenger airbag that does not deploy in a crash increases the risk of injury.

      What to do

      Owners should not use the front passenger seat until the remedy, which is currently under development, has been completed.

      Interim letters notifying owners of the safety risk are expected to be mailed May 26, 2023. A second notice will be sent once the remedy becomes available.

      Ikea recalls Blavingad fishing games

      A small metal rivet within a wooden play piece can come loose and detach

      Ikea US Retail of Glen Allen, Va., is recalling about 27,200 Blavingad fishing games sold in the U.S., and Canada.

      A small metal rivet within a wooden play piece can come loose and detach, posing a choking hazard to young children.

      Globally, the firm has received notice of four incident reports of the rivet coming loose. None of these occurred in the U.S., or required medical attention.

      This recall involves the Ikea Blavingad fishing game. 

      The article name (“Blavingad”), article number “10539622,” supplier number “21576,” and “Made in China” are located on the back of the blue box.

      The ocean-themed fishing game consists of two wooden fishing lines with string and magnets to attract wooden play pieces with metal rivets.

      The game consists of 11 pieces and a die.

      The fishing game, manufactured in China, was sold at Ikea stores and online at Ikea.com from October 2022, through March 2023, for about $15.

      What to do

      Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled Blavingad fishing game and contact Ikea for a full refund.

      This can fail to alert other motorists of the rider's intention and increase the risk of a crash.

      Revolution Farms of Caledonia, Mich., is recalling all lettuce products sold under the Revolution Farms brand name.

      The products may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections, and miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women.

      The recalled products have been epidemiologically linked with a multi-state outbreak of Listeriosis.

      Jarman's Midwest Cleaning Systems is recalling all lots of Alcohol Antiseptic 80% Topical Solution Hand Sanitizer Non-sterile Solution and Prophylaxis Alcohol Antiseptic 75% Topical Solution Hand Sanitizer Non-sterile Solution.

      Testing by the Food and Drug Administration found the presence of methanol, which can produce nausea, vomiting, headache, blurred vision, coma, seizures, permanent blindness, permanent damage to the central nervous system or death.

      There are no reports of adverse reactions to date.

      The recalled products, which are marketed to help decrease bacteria on the skin when soap and water are not available., are packaged in one -gallon clear or white plastic bottles, and may have been purchased by the bottle, or by the case containing four bottles

      The vehicles may lose steering control posing a crash risk

      American Honda Motor Co. is recalling 563,711 model year 2007-2011 CR-Vs that were sold, or ever registered in Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia, Washington D.C., and Wisconsin.

      An accumulation of road salt may cause the frame to corrode and possibly detach the rear trailing arm.

      A detached rear trailing arm can cause a loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash.

      Carhartt of Dearborn, Mich., is recalling about 32,505 pairs of Carhartt Men’s Force Relaxed 5 Pocket Work Pants.

      An elastic drawstring hem near the ankle of the pants can create an extended loop, posing a trip and fall hazard.

      No incidents or injuries are reported.

      This recall involves Carhartt Men’s Force Relaxed 5 Pocket Work Pants with an elastic drawstring hem near the ankle.

      Product number 105222 is printed on a tag on the inside seam near the waistband.

      The pants are made of 81% cotton/16% nylon/3% elastane, stretch twill, were sold in gray and brown, and feature two front pockets, a phone pocket on the right leg and two back pockets, one with a zipper and includes all sizes.

      The work pants, manufactured in India, were sold at Dick's Sporting Goods stores nationwide and online at http://www.dickssportinggoods.com from July through November 2022, for about $70.

      What to do

      Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled work pants and return them to Dicks Sporting Goods or Carhartt for a full refund.

      Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing is recalling 8,989 model year 2022-2023 Tundras and Tundra Hybrids.

      A software error in the combination meter's electronic control unit (ECU) may cause the instrument panel LCD display to go blank.

      A blank display will not show critical information such as the speedometer or warning lights, increasing the risk of a crash.

      What to do

      Dealers will update the combination meter ECU software free of charge.

      Delta Enterprise Corp., of New York is recalling about 43,380 2-in-1 Outdoor Kids Swings.

      The swing seat restraint straps can break, posing a fall hazard to young children.

      The firm has received seven reports of swing seat restraint straps breaking. No injuries have been reported.

      This recall involves 2-in-1 Outdoor Kids Swings, model numbers SW86508MM, SW86516MN, SW86575MM, SW86576MN and SW86577PW. The model number is printed on a Delta Children’s label with a blue heart on the bottom of the swing.

      The swings are made of plastic and have a bucket seat with a three-point safety harness and a high back that has a silhouette of Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse or PAW Patrol on top.

      The swings measure 16 inches wide by 10.8 inches deep and 22.2 inches high. Included rope measures 36 inches from the top of the swing.

      The swing is recommended for children ages 9 months through 4 years old and holds up to 50 pounds.

      The swings, manufactured in China, were sold at Walmart stores nationwide and online at www.walmart.com and www.deltachildren.com from March through October 2022, for between $20 and $33.

      What to do

      Daimler Vans recalls 53,000 Mercedes-Benz and Freightliner Sprinter VS30s

      Wiring for the blower motor may overheat, causing a fire

      Daimler Vans USA (DVUSA) is recalling 52,993 model year 2019-2020 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter VS30s and Freightliner Sprinter VS30s.

      The heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) blower motor circuit may be inadequate, which can allow the wiring harness to overheat.

      A wiring harness that overheats increases the risk of a fire.

      What to do

      Owners should operate the HVAC front blower in manual (not automatic) mode whenever the engine is on. Do not use the maximum blower or lowest/highest temperature settings until the remedy is performed.

      Dealers will relocate and replace the fuse and wiring harness free of charge.

      Owner notification letters should go into the mail April 14, 2023.

      The product can contain a carcinogen that can cause adverse health effects

      The Laundress of Englewood Cliffs, N.J., is expanding its recall of fabric conditioners to about 800,000 bottles sold in the U.S. and Canada. 

      The fabric conditioners can contain a chemical impurity, ethylene oxide, a carcinogen that can cause adverse health effects if there is significant and direct long-term exposure.

      No incidents or illnesses are reported.

      This recall involves The Laundress Fabric Conditioner products, a complete list of which is available at https://www.thelaundressrecall.com/_files/ugd/b51df1_730f72b3535e49cdad3ac8f4c2d895c7.pdf.

      All recalled products have “The Laundress – New York” printed at the top of the label.

      The fabric conditioners, manufactured in the U.S., were sold online at TheLaundress.com, Amazon.com, and additional websites and in stores at The Laundress, Bloomingdale’s, The Container Store, Saks Fifth Avenue, Target, Nordstrom, Jenni Kayne, Kith, Peruvian Connection, N.Peal, Brooklinen, and other major retailers nationwide from 2011, through November 2022, for between $1 and $20.

      What to do

      Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled fabric conditioners and contact The Laundress for instructions to receive a full refund.

      Consumers who have previously requested a refund for these products in response to The Laundress’ December 2022 recall and reimbursement program should not submit a new request.

      Consumers who purchased the recalled products on or after January 2021 may request a refund using either a photo of the lot code with their initials and the date written in marker or a receipt, or if purchased through www.TheLaundress.com, consumers can submit their e-mail address for a refund.

      Consumers who purchased the recalled products before January 2021 should take a photo of the lot code with their initials and the date written in marker and contact The Laundress for a full refund of the purchase price, with receipt, or of the manufacturer’s suggested retail price, without receipt.

      The front passenger airbag may not deploy properly

      Rivian Automotive is recalling 12,716 model year 2022 R1T and R1S vehicles.

      A faulty automatic locking retractor (ALR) sensor in the front passenger seat belt system may incorrectly report as ON when it is actually OFF, causing the suppression or improper deployment of the airbag.

      Failure of the airbag to deploy as intended increases the risk of injury to the front passenger in a crash.

      What to do

      Dealers will inspect and replace the front passenger seat belt system components -- as necessary -- free of charge.

      Suspected deaths prompt recall of Rogue scooters/hoverboards

      The lithium-ion battery packs can overheat, posing a fire hazard.

      Jetson Electric Bikes of Brooklyn, N.Y., is recalling about 53,000 42-volt Jetson Rogue self-balancing scooters/hoverboards.

      The lithium-ion battery packs in the self-balancing scooters/hoverboards can overheat, posing a fire hazard.

      A 10-year-old girl and her 15-year-old sister died from a fire on April 1, 2022, in Hellertown, Pa. The local fire marshal determined that a 42-volt Jetson Rogue was the point of origin of the fire.

      The fire spread from the room of origin to other portions of the house, resulting in the deaths of the two girls and smoke inhalation injuries to the girls’ parents. The cause of the fire remains undetermined.

      There have been multiple other reports of the recalled scooters/hoverboards burning, sparking or melting, several of which involved reports of flames.

      This recall involves all 42-volt Jetson Rogue self-balancing scooters/hoverboards, which have two wheels with light up hubcaps and come in black, blue, red, pink, and purple with a black platform.

      Jetson is printed on one side of the body and on the top of the footpads.

      The recalled units were manufactured from 2018 through 2019 and have a UL certification label and serial number on the bottom of the unit.

      Affected units do not have a barcode on the bottom of the unit, and units with a barcode next to the serial number are not included in this recall.

      The charge port on affected units has three pins and is located to the left of the power button.

      Units with a charge port that has just one pin and is located to the right of the power button are not included.

      The scooters/hoverboards were sold at Target stores nationwide and online at www.target.com from August 2018, through June 2019, and at www.ridejetson.com from January 2019, through November 2021, for between $100 and $150.

      What to do

      The driver's airbag may not deploy as intended

      BMW of North America is recalling 15,803 model year 2022-2023 iX xDrive40, iX xDrive50, iX M60 and X1 xDrive28i vehicles.

      The front driver's side airbag may have been manufactured incorrectly and may not deploy as intended in a crash.

      An airbag that does not deploy properly increases the risk of injury.

      What to do

      Dealers will replace the driver's airbag free of charge.

      Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed April 7, 2023.
