    Pfizer recalls 4.2 million tablets of Nurtec ODT prescription drugs

    Packaging of the product fails to meet the child resistant packaging requirement

    Biohaven Pharmaceuticals of New Haven, Conn. and Pfizer of N.Y., are recalling about 4.2 million Nurtec ODT (rimegepant) orally disintegrating tablets.

    The packaging of the prescription drugs is not child resistant, posing a risk of poisoning.

    No incidents or injuries are reported.

    This recall involves prescription drugs Nurtec ODT 75 mg orally disintegrating tablets sold in cartons containing one blister card of 8 tablets, all dates through 6/2026 and NDC number72618-3000-2.

    The tablets are in a non-child-resistant blister card packaged in a carton that includes the name of the product, dosage strength, NDC number and expiration date.

    The dosage strength and expiration date are printed or stamped on the blister card.

    The tablets, manufactured in the U.S., were sold at pharmacies nationwide as a prescribed medicine from December 2021, through March 2023.

    The prices of the product are varied based on health insurance terms and other factors.

    What to do

    Consumers should immediately place the recalled product out of the sight and reach of children and contact Pfizer for a free child resistant pouch to store the product.

    Once the product is secured, consumers can continue to use it as directed.

    The front brake hoses may rupture and leak fluid.

    Ford Motor Company is recalling 1,280,726 model year 2013-2018 Ford Fusions and Lincoln MKZs.

    The front brake hoses may rupture and leak brake fluid.

    A brake fluid leak increases brake pedal travel and extends the distance needed to stop the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.

    What to do

    Dealers will replace the front brake hoses, free of charge.

    Ford will mail interim letters notifying owners of the safety risk April 17, 2023. Second letters will be mailed once parts are available.

    BeyondMedShop recalls 102,00 adult bed rails

    Users can become trapped by the rail, running a risk of death by asphyxiation

    BeyondMedShop of Stafford, Texas, is recalling about 102,000 Vaunn Medical Bed Assist Rail adult bed rails.

    When the bed rails are attached to an adult’s bed, users can become trapped within the bed rail or between the bed rail and the side of the mattress, posing a serious risk of death by asphyxiation.

    No incidents or injuries are reported.

    This recall involves two models of Vaunn Medical Bed Assist Rail adult bed rails: M876N-AAWH-APVM and M876N-SABK-APVM.

    Model M876N-AAWH-APVM is a rectangular bed rail made of white metal tubing with a black foam rubber grip handle.

    Model 876N-SABK-APVM is made of black metal tubing with a rounded black foam rubber grip handle and a fabric pouch.

    The model number is printed on the weight capacity label located on the grip handle.

    The bed rails, manufactured in China, were sold online at BeyondMedShop.com, Amazon com, Walmart.com and eBay from December 2018, through December 2022, for between $40 and $80.

    What to do

    Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled bed rails and contact BeyondMedShop for a free repair.

    The firm expects the remedy to be available in May 2023.

      Honda recalls 448,000 vehicles with seat belt issue

      The seat belt buckle may not latch, increasing the risk of injury

      American Honda Motor Co. is recalling 448,613 of the following vehicles:

      • Model year 
      • 2017-2020 CR-Vs,
      • Model year 2018-2019 Accords and Accord Hybrids,
      • Model year 2018-2020 Odysseys,
      • Model year 2019 Insights, and
      • Model year 2019-2020 Acura RDXs.

      A manufacturing issue with the front seat belts may cause the seat belt buckle channel to interfere with the release button, preventing the seat belt buckle from latching.

      An unlatched seat belt cannot properly restrain the seat occupant during a crash, increasing their risk of injury.

      What to do

      Dealers will replace the driver and front passenger seat belt buckle release buttons or the buckle assemblies -- as necessary -- free of charge.

      Owner notification letters should be in the mail April 17, 2023.

      Nestlé Purina expands dry dog food recall

      The product may contain elevated levels of Vitamin D

      Nestlé Purina PetCare Company is expanding its earlier recall of Purina Pro Plan Veterinary Diets EL Elemental (PPVD EL) prescription dry dog food.

      The product may contain elevated levels of Vitamin D, which can lead to health issues depending on the level of vitamin D and the length of exposure.

      Vitamin D toxicity may include vomiting, loss of appetite, increased thirst, increased urination, and excessive drooling to kidney dysfunction.

      An investigation prompted by Purina uncovered new information about a production error from a U.S. supplier that was made only to this recalled formula.

      The recalled product was sold throughout the U.S., only by prescription and only through veterinary clinics, Purina Vet Direct, Purina for Professionals, and other select retailers with the ability to validate a prescription.

      What to do

      Customers who purchased the recalled product should immediately stop feeding dogs with it and discard it in a container where no other animals, including wildlife, can get to it.

      The parking sensor may short circuit and cause a fire

      Hyundai Motor America is recalling 26,169 model year 2012-2013 Velosters.

      High conductive liquid may leak into the Reverse Park Aid Sensor (RPAS), which can result in an electrical short circuit.

      An electrical short circuit increases the risk of a fire.

      What to do

      Dealers will replace the RPAS fuse and sensor -- as necessary -- free of charge.

      Letters notifying owners of the recall are expected to be mailed April 29, 2023.

      Bedshe International recalls 350,000 Bedsure electric heating blankets and pads for fire risk

      The controller for the blankets and pads can malfunction and 17 people have been burned

      Bedshe International of Walnut, Calif., is recalling about 350,000 Bedsure electric heating blankets and pads.

      The controller for the blankets and pads can malfunction, posing fire and thermal burn hazards.

      The firm has received 137 reports of the blankets and pads catching fire, burning, melting and overheating in consumers' homes, causing minor property damage.

      These include 17 reports of burn injuries, including one report of second-degree burns.

      This recall involves Bedsure electric heating blankets models in throw, twin and full sizes made of flannel and/or sherpa in the following sizes: 50” x 60,” 62” x 84” and 72” x 84.”

      The blankets were sold in beige, black, blue, blue plaid, brown, gray (light and dark), gray plaid, green (dark), navy, red, red plaid and red plaid (cream), depending on the size and model.

      The electric heating pads were sold in the following sizes: 12” x 24”, 24” x 22” and 24” x 33”and colors: brown, gray and teal.

      The electric blankets and pads are controlled by a white cord with a white digital controller unit. The electric blanket with model BS-LV0A has a white non-digital controller unit with the name and symbol of Bedsure on the controller.

      A list of the recalled model numbers, on a white label on the back of the blanket and heating pads and back side of the controller and also on the consumer’s Orders History page, may be found here.

      The electric blankets and pads, manufactured in China, were sold online at Amazon.com and BedsureHome.com from August through November 2022, for between $25 and $110.

      What to do

      Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled electric heating blankets and pads and contact Bedsure for a full refund.

      Consumers must have possession of the unit and submit photos of the recalled unit following the instructions provided during registration at www.safety.bedsurehome.com to receive their refund. The firm is contacting all known purchasers.

      Paradise Grilling Systems of Ocoee, Fla., is recalling about 18,000 Paradise Grills first generation outdoor kitchens

      Liquid propane (LP) gas can accumulate inside the closed lid and cabinets, causing an explosion when the user relights the grill, posing fire and burn hazards.

      The firm has received two reports of the grill exploding, causing severe burns to the consumers.

      This recall involves First Generation Paradise Grills Outdoor Kitchens.

      They can have cabinets, sinks, refrigerators, and other features such as LED lighting, Tiki Huts, commercial grills, granite and other additional options.

      The recalled models are the GX-3, GX-4, GX-5, GX-6, GX-7, GX-8, GX-9, GX-10, GX-11 GX12 and GX14, Tahiti, Fiji, Tropicana, Aruba 6 and Aruba 8.

      The model name is listed on the sales agreement.

      The outdoor kitchens, manufactured in the U.S., were sold at Paradise Grills showrooms and at home, boat and RV shows nationwide from January 2009, through December 2020, for between $4,000 and $15,000.

      What to do

      Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled grills and contact Paradise Grills to receive a new 16”x 4” stainless steel vent to be installed on the First Generation Outdoor Kitchen.

      Consumers in Florida, Texas, Georgia and Alabama should immediately contact Paradise Grills to schedule a date for completion of their free repair. This includes labor and a new vent.

      Consumers in all other states should immediately contact Paradise Grills to receive free shipment of the vent, installation instructions, and reimbursement for the installation cost by a qualified professional or technician.

      The firm will require a copy of the installer’s invoice or billing statement (marked “Paid”) for the installation service.

      Toyota recalls 130,000 Tundras and Tundra Hybrids

      The cover for the tonneau may detach

      Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing is recalling 130,266 model year 2022-2023 Tundras and Tundra Hybrids that may have a Toyota genuine accessory tonneau cover.

      The cover attachment joints may come loose and allow the cover to detach.

      A tonneau cover that detaches while the vehicle is being driven can become a road hazard, increasing the risk of a crash.

      What to do

      Interim notification letters instructing owners to remove the tonneau cover are expected to be mailed March 31, 2023.

      The remedy is currently under development.

      Two deaths prompt recall of 3.2 million kids' toys with bottle and pacifier accessories

      The bottle and pacifier accessories pose a choking hazard

      Epoch Everlasting Play is recalling more than 3.2 million Calico Critters Animal Figures and Sets sold with bottle and pacifier accessories.

      The bottle and pacifier accessories pose a choking hazard to children.

      The firm is aware of three incidents involving the pacifier accessory, including two deaths.

      One fatal incident involved a 2-year-old child in 2018 in New Mexico, and the other fatal incident involved a 9-month-old child in 2015 in Japan.

      This recall involves all Calico Critters flocked animal figures and sets sold with bottle and pacifier accessories with the item numbers printed on the bottom of the package.

      The bottle accessories were sold in yellow, pink, blue and orange. One style of the bottle has two yellow handles.

      The pacifier accessories were sold in yellow, orange, pink, dark pink, blue and teal.

      The animal figures and sets, manufactured in China, were sold at Walmart, Meijer, and other stores nationwide and online at www.calicocritters.com and www.amazon.com from January 2000, through December 2021, for between $10 and $80.

      The Lidl supermarket chain is recalling ready-to-eat Tapas branded cocktail shrimp.

      The product may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, which can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women.

      There are no reports or complaints of illness to date.

      The recalled product, which is packaged in 7-oz. containers, with UPC 4056489411499, was sold at all Lidl US store locations in Delaware, District of Columbia, Georgia, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina and Virginia.

      What to do

      Customers who purchased the recalled product should not consume it, but return it to their nearest Lidl store for a full refund.

      Patagonia of Ventura, Calif., is recalling about 8,200 Infant Capilene Midweight Base Layer Sets sold in the U.S., and Canada.

      The snaps in the bodysuit can detach, posing a choking hazard if infants put them in their mouths.

      The company has received one report of a snap detaching from the shoulder of the bodysuit and being put in a baby's mouth.

      This recall involves Patagonia Infant Capilene Midweight Base Layer Sets, sold in sizes 0 months through 24 months with style number 60910.

      Each set consists of a knitted polyester long-sleeved bodysuit with snaps at the left shoulder and at the crotch, and a pair of matching knitted polyester pants with an elastic waistband.

      The style number is printed on a sewn-in label inside the garment in the form STY60910FA21 for the Fall 2021 style and STY60910FA22 for the Fall 2022 style.

      They were sold in five designs: pink and white with “My Planet,” pink hearts and pink trim; blue with “Patagonia” and “Fun Hogs”; pink with small graphics; pink with “Patagonia Mountain Kids” and gray and black with “Patagonia Mountain Kids.”

      The layer sets, manufactured in Sri Lanka, were sold at Patagonia, REI and other stores nationwide and online at www.patagonia.com, www.rei.com, www.backcountry.com and other websites from August 2021, through January 2023, for about $55.

      What to do

      Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled garments and contact Patagonia for a full refund. Patagonia will provide consumers with prepaid labels to return the recalled product and a full refund upon receipt of the product.

      GM recalls 22,000 Chevy Silverados and GMC Sierras that may stall

      Failure of the rear fuel tank may cause an engine stall

      General Motors is recalling 22,132 model year 2017-2019 Chevrolet Silverado 2500s & 3500s, and GMC Sierra 2500s & 3500s with a dual fuel tank option.

      The rear fuel tank may collapse and prevent the fuel pump from transferring fuel to the front tank, resulting in an engine stall, posing a crash risk.

      What to do

      Dealers will inspect the fuel tank and fuel pump module, replacing them as necessary. Dealers will also add a vent hose to the rear tank assembly. Repairs will be performed free of charge.

      Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed March 24, 2023.

      User death prompts recall of LumaRail adult portable bed rails

      Users can become trapped within the bed rail or between the bed rail and the side of the mattress

      Platinum Health of Orlando, Fla., is recalling about 53,000 LumaRail brand adult portable bed rails.

      The bed rails pose a risk of entrapment and asphyxia if users become trapped within the rail, or between the rail and mattress.

      The firm has received one report of a death. In October 2021, an 81-year-old man at a nursing home in Pennsylvania died from positional asphyxia after becoming trapped between his mattress and the bed rail.

      This recall involves the Bed Assist Rail with Legs (model PHB4000), Free Standing Bed Assist Rail (model PHB6000) and the DoubleSafe Bed Assist Rail (model PHB7000D).

      The bed rails are made of white metal tubing with a gray or black foam rubber grip handle and may have a black fabric pouch.

      “Platinum Health” is printed on a label on the leg of the bed rail or on the grip handle. The bed rails also have a light mount below the grip handle.

      Platinum Health sold the bed rails on its website, PlatinumHealthLLC.com, through major online retailers including Amazon, Walmart.com, eBay, and Overstock, and through online medical supply stores nationwide including RehabMart and Fabrication Enterprises.

      They were sold from July 2015, through December 2022, for between $65 and $100.

      What to do

      Consumers should stop using the bed rails immediately and contact Platinum Health for a free repair kit.

      Consumers who use model PHB7000D on twin beds will receive a free replacement bed rail redesigned to properly fit twin beds. Platinum Health expects the remedy to be available beginning in late March 2023.

      Mercedes-Benz USA (MBUSA) is recalling 26,116 model year 2019-2021 G550s and AMG G63s.

      The front axle wiring harness may chafe against an oil cooler and become damaged, which can cause a loss of anti-lock brakes (ABS) and electronic stability control (ESC).

      The loss of either can increase the risk of a crash.

      What to do

      Dealers will inspect and either install a protective sleeve or replace the front axle wiring harness -- as necessary --free of charge.

      Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed April 18, 2023.

      The TJX Companies of Framingham, Mass., is recalling nearly 83,000 office chairs sold in the U.S., and Canada.

      The back of the chair can break or detach from the seat base, posing a fall hazard.

      The firm has received 12 reports in which the back of the chair broke or detached from the seat base when a user was seated in it at a store, including 10 reports of injuries, including contusions, strains, numbness, bruising and one reported concussion.

      This recall involves office chairs with a circle cushioned seat that attaches to an adjustable metal stand and five wheels.

      The back of the chair is a cushioned horizontal oval.

      The chairs were sold in white, black, gray, floral, pink, orange, navy, light blue, brown, mint and cream.

      The cushion is covered in either velvet, linen, boucle or faux leather. One of the following style numbers is printed on a hang tag attached to the product: GT646, GT646A, GT646AA, GT646AB, GT646AABO.

      “ANJI GUOTAI Furniture Co. Ltd.” and “Made in China” are printed on a label under the seat.

      The chairs were sold at Marshalls, T.J. Maxx, HomeGoods and Homesense stores nationwide from June 2019, through December 2022, for between $60 and $70.

      What to do

      Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled chairs and contact TJX for instructions on how to participate in the recall and dispose of the chairs from home to receive a full refund.

      Consumers may also return the recalled chairs to any Marshalls, T.J. Maxx, HomeGoods or Homesense store for a full refund.

      Chrysler recalls 69,000 Jeep Wranglers and Gladiators for fire risk

      The clutch pressure plate may overheat

      Chrysler is recalling 69,201 model year 2018-2023 Jeep Wranglers and model year 2020-2023 Gladiators with manual transmissions, expanding a recall from early 2021.

      The clutch pressure plate may overheat and fracture.

      Overheated clutch components may increase the risk of a fire. Additionally, damage to other nearby components can result in debris falling onto the road or a loss of drive, increasing the risk of a crash.

      What to do

      The remedy is currently under development.

      Vehicles previously repaired under the earlier recall will need to have the new remedy completed.

      Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed April 14, 2023.
