GM recalls Cadillac XT5s & XT6s, and GMC Acadias

The vehicles' rearview cameras may fail

General Motors is recalling 95,231 model year 2020-2021 Cadillac XT5s & XT6s, and GMC Acadias equipped with the optional Surround Vision feature.

The coaxial cable connectors for the rearview camera may have been crimped improperly, causing the camera to fail or function intermittently.

A rearview camera that doesn't work as intended can reduce the driver's rear visibility and increase the risk of a crash.

GM has recalled more than 2 million vehicles this far in 2022

      What to do

Dealers will replace the coaxial cables free of charge.

GM will mail letters notifying owners of the safety risk around November 7, 2022, and send a second letter once the remedy is available.

Owners may contact Cadillac customer service at (800) 458-8006 or GMC customer service at (800) 462-8782. GM's number for this recall is N222378380.

A small child could become trapped and strangle

Canyon Furniture Company of Seffner, Fla., is recalling about 2,100 ladders sold with Canyon Lake and Cottage Colors bunk bed and hutch sets.

The space between the fourth ladder step and the cross-member of the hutch of the bunk bed is wider than 3.5 inches, posing entrapment and strangulation hazards.

No incidents or injuries are reported.

This recall involves ladders sold as part of a furniture set, including Cottage Colors and Canyon Lake bunk bed configurations that include desk- or dresser-top hutches.

The ladders were sold in various combinations with bunk beds and hutches.

A list of the recalled ladders with their SKU numbers, which are printed on a label on the underside of a ladder step, may be found here.

Only ladders sold with the Canyon Lake and Cottage Colors bunk bed configurations that include a desk- or dresser-top hutch are being recalled.

The ladders, manufactured in Mexico, were sold exclusively at Rooms To Go stores nationwide and online at www.roomstogo.com from April 2019, through March 2022.

They were sold independently for about $90, and as part of bunk bed and hutch sets for between $1,400 and $2,300.

      What to do

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled ladders and the top bunk of the bunk beds, remove the ladders to prevent access to the top bunk, and contact Rooms To Go for a free replacement ladder.
