Hisense has recalled 55,200 French Door refrigerators because of an issue with the door hinges.
The company says the door hinges on affected products could break, causing the door to detach when a consumer tries to open the French doors. This could create an impact injury hazard if the door detaches and hits an unsuspecting person.
Hisense has received 139 reports of the refrigerator doors loosening or detaching and five reports of injuries, including foot bruises and lacerations.
The recall includes the company's 26.6 cubic foot capacity stainless steel French door refrigerators that come equipped with an ice maker. The model number of the recalled products is HRF266N6CSE and the serial numbers range from C2020050100001 through C2020123109000.
They were sold exclusively at Lowe's stores nationwide and online at Lowes.com from August 2020, through February 2022, for about $1,500.
