    Reviewed Aug. 31, 2026

Everything from system design and installation went very smoothly and my system was turned on in early November 2025. Since then I have an error telling me “There is an issue with your Gateway meter measurements. Please contact your maintainer for help.” I have contacted PlugPV, they’ve twice sent a technician who said the system is operating as it should, yet the error persists.

According to Jared in accounting (who calls me for the remaining balance I owe) a work order is open on my case, yet no one contacts me to resolve the issues. The production numbers in the app don’t make sense, often telling me I am 0% energy dependent while producing more energy than I consume. In the ‘live’ status on the app it shows (see photo) that what I am producing PLUS what I am consuming is being exported to the grid. Previously this live status SUBTRACTED what I was consuming from what I was producing. None of it makes sense and PlugPV seems uninterested at best at resolving the issues. In all, sales and installation were great. Maintenance not so much. 2 Stars.

8/24/2026 EDIT: Changing to 1 Star. I paid over $50,000 to PlugPV to install a solar system in November 2025, and the post-installation service has been extremely frustrating. In less than a year of production, the system has suffered continuous issues: recurring inverter failure, communication dropouts, and low solar production. While technical glitches can happen, PlugPV’s response times make the situation far worse: 2+ Week Service Delays: Every time an issue comes up, it takes them at least two weeks to schedule a technician to come out and inspect it. Misleading "Local" Claim: PlugPV markets itself as a local company, yet customer service repeatedly tells me it will take two weeks because they don't have a technician in my area.

Financial Loss: Because the system is constantly experiencing downtime or underperforming, I am forced to pull electricity from the grid for weeks at a time while waiting for service—costing me real money on top of a $50k+ investment. A system under a year old shouldn't have this much downtime, and a company claiming to be local shouldn't take two weeks to dispatch service. PlugPV needs to step up its field support and service response times for its clients.

8/31/2026 EDIT (wish I could change to ZERO stars): After the technician left on 8/24/2026 I had to wait 48 hours for the system to begin 'reporting' again. On 8/26/2026 a different error has come up and I'm getting texts and email saying the system in underproducing. Wait another week for a technician to 'be in my area' and he just advised that there is a wiring issue and he needs more time to diagnose and correct but he needs to get to another site so he can't finish today and I need to be rescheduled! WTF?! I basically I have 36 bricked panels on my house at this point.

    Reviewed June 27, 2026

Plugpv has no idea how to get permits. What should take 7 days took 6 weeks and always blamed someone else, when it was always their fault. The final completion was 3 months late, (April 2nd) always blaming some other organization for their lack of expertise. After completion never heard from them again. I contacted Enphase and installer for setup and communication information. It is now June 25th and found out I was not getting credited for power exported to electric company. I found out from power company if you are purchasing your electricity third party your local utility does not credit you for exported power. Now I have to cancel Nopec the supplier and wait till next meter reading to finally get install correct. End result is promised completion of December 30th will actually be July 17th and only if there are no other issues PlugPv did not inform us of. If your thinking about using PlugPv I recommend you think again.
