    Reviewed June 16, 2025

We signed with SunVena in November 2023, hopeful and excited about transitioning to solar energy. Our decision was motivated by environmental concerns, home value, and long-term savings. We genuinely believed we were making a smart, sustainable investment. Unfortunately, our experience has been exhausting, disheartening, and ultimately, a source of constant stress. Our system was installed in late December but didn’t go live until early March due to SunVena's repeated paperwork errors. They failed to file the correct documents not once, but three times. As a result, we paid full electric bills for months while our solar system sat idle — with no offer of compensation or acknowledgment of the financial impact. Since activation, we’ve had three major system failures in just over a year:

First Failure – The system underperformed for months without anyone noticing — including SunVena. They do not actively monitor the systems they install, so the issue went undetected until we questioned our unchanged electric bills. When someone finally came out, we were told it was due to poor workmanship on their part.

Second Failure – This happened just two days after a hurricane. Despite having invested in a whole-home backup system with two batteries, it completely failed. We were without power for six days, unable to cook, store food, or stay comfortable. We lost groceries, incurred extra costs eating out, and received no support or reimbursement from SunVena.

Third Failure – The most recent breakdown involved a failed inverter. We caught this issue ourselves (again, not SunVena) and had to wait weeks for repairs — more downtime, more inconvenience.

In response to these repeated failures, SunVena offered us a choice: a check for lost production or two extra panels — but with a condition. They would not raise our system’s output target, effectively limiting any future compensation. I respectfully asked for both options, given the extent of our trouble. Instead of working with us, they withdrew the offer entirely when I wouldn’t agree to change my honest review.

I’m not writing this out of anger, but in the hope of helping other homeowners make informed decisions. We didn’t expect perfection — but we did expect professionalism, accountability, and basic customer care. What we received instead was indifference, poor communication, and pressure to stay silent in exchange for limited compensation. Please learn from our experience. I would not recommend SunVena Solar to anyone.
