Freedom Power Solar Reviews

Freedom solar was great during the selling and procurement process. Once our solar panels were paid for, the nightmares began. Our inverter has worked less than 50% of the time. We never got the credit for the solar use, so our electric bill stayed sky high and weeks would go by before they would come check the panels. Then we did renovations and the design was flawed, so more than half of our solar panels are sitting in our garage. I would take my money back on a heart beat. I regret the investment. It has been a headache all around.

We worked with Joshua during the sign up and he was wonderful. That part was wonderful. Freedom set up the installation schedule and we cut our holiday short to make it back because Freedom said the homeowner had to be there. We were there. When the crew came out, they told us, "I'm so sorry. We can't do it." I said, "What what's going on?" They said, "Well, it was never set up to have the SECO disconnect you. And the reason it was never set up is 'cause the guy dropped the ball and forgot to get the permits." So I told them to get Freedom on the phone. They did that and they finally got that guy. He said, "I dropped the ball." I was pissed because we cut our vacation short. I said I'm done. So then they said, "Well, can we install half of it?" I said, "Don't install a damn thing."

Looking into solar energy made sense, and I found Freedom Power when I searched the internet. I talked to several different companies and one would think I was the only person they were dealing with because all the salespeople responded very quickly to any comments or questions I had. They were all very eager to talk to me when I was exploring the option of going with their company. That was my same experience with Freedom Power. I signed up and the installation team was fine.

My colleague attended some fair in town where they had a representative from Freedom Power. He talked to them and mentioned the company to me when we were discussing about solar energy services. I was looking for solar after I bought a new house at the time. So, I talked to Freedom Power and that whole process went through. On the technical side, they were great and the professional work they did was really good. Their reps were also able to answer my questions. As an engineer and with a background in electrical engineering, I was aware about things. But from technical side, there are things that I was not aware of and the representative made a good effort to make me understand.

Signup was good. We wanted to get a cheaper bill and Freedom Power Solar's price was decent. Their customer service is also good and working with solar is as easy enough as it can be. The system is not doing anything other than what it's supposed to, so things are going well.

Freedom Power Solar had good reviews with some of the bigger companies, plus they had the Tesla batteries. I liked their reliability and Freedom Power did everything when I decided to go with them. All I did was just supply them with my electric bill. I wanted to have a battery backup system as my power is constantly blinking or going out. Also, I wanted to get off the grid. The panels have been awesome. I got an app on my phone for tracking my production and it’s perfect. If I have a storm coming, it automatically starts generating 100% of the batteries. People better hurry up and get solar.

Working with Freedom Solar was easy. The sign-up process was fine, and the installation was seamless.

Everything was great with Freedom Solar. They came out and did everything. Next thing I knew, I had solar. I did solar in Washington too, and this was a much faster and smoother operation. From when I inquired about it to when they came out and visited me until they turned the switch on, it was five weeks. Everyone was perfect. Freedom Solar was a little bit more expensive, but I'm paying $230 a month for that and $100 for my electric bill and I am running my AC at full blast 24/7. That’s not bad.

Freedom installed 10 panels and a Tesla Powerwall. It took a long time to get installed, but most of the issues were not really their fault. It was Oncor. Chase was the one who started it with me. He was great from the start till the end. Anytime I had questions, he was able to give me feedback and the information I needed. So, I appreciate that guy. Any time I had a question, they quickly answered. When someone couldn’t answer, they messaged somebody else to get the answers from. I could see their whole message thread too. I can see a lot of their stuff. They’re pretty open like that.

I wanted to take advantage of the tax credit so I researched solar companies and Freedom Power Solar had a high ranking as far as being reputable and I found the company to be very high quality, consistent in the delivery of their service and products, and they have been around in the state of Texas, so I chose them. I wasn’t around during installation, but my son was there and he said it went smoothly, and they did a great job.

I checked five other solar companies and decided that Freedom Solar Power would be good for my house. However, I haven’t had a good experience with them so far. I first contacted Freedom back in May, but the project took months to be implemented. When they finally came to install the panels, they realized that they had overestimated my power usage, so they had to cut down the size of the project.

When I was considering doing solar energy, I did online research and saw Freedom Solar. The process with them was very easy. Their customer service rep answered all my questions and went the extra mile. With Freedom Solar, I got good communication and project management. They delivered stuff on time. I had to schedule, but they did a good job.

Setting up the service was very difficult. Freedom’s customer service has been horrible. They should communicate better and not lie about information on the program.

Freedom Solar had been in the area for a long time. Signing up was good, easy, no problem. And there’s a program to track solar production, but I haven’t had the time to set it up. Installation was pretty stressless, and seamless. They were on time and I didn’t have to bug them about coming out.

I originally talked to one of their salesmen, Brett and decided to buy their system. Soon after that, the salesman stopped responding to my texts. I finally texted him to cancel my project. No response. While looking for Freedom Solar Power's contact info, I found Freedom Solar Energy. I talked with them. Very good people, including the owner of the company. I signed up for a lease. Now, Freedom Solar Power sent me bill for $2,500 for canceling the contract.

I was interested in getting a solar system put in, and one of my brother's clients said that they got Freedom Solar and they were happy with it. I went with it and I was not happy.

Freedom Solar is installing right now, and the crew on site is good. They showed up on time. They keep me in the loop about what they’re doing and what kind of timeframes. The only thing was that there were just way too many different people reaching out to me, which was confusing. And I never really had a single source of contact throughout the whole process of getting it set up. I’ll get texts from different people. But also, anything that was not right, their team bent over backwards to take care of everything. 

Excellent company. I looked on the internet for solar providers and Freedom Power Solar was a local San Antonio company, and the numbers sounded good. 25-year warranty, and the solar panels are made in Texas. The presentation was a Zoom call.

Freedom Power Solar is locally based out of San Antonio, and as I understand it, we have hailstorms here, and the panels of the company are used to the environment here, and they had excellent reviews on Google. I was very impressed with Rose, the client manager, and the project manager, Justin, has been top-notch, walking through the process just like a professional construction project should be. On the client side, they know the product, how to sell it, and are able to communicate how it's gonna work. On the project management and installation side, excellent communication all the way throughout. I had multiple projects ongoing between roofing and the solar install that required coordination, and we were able to do it. Couldn't ask for better. It's not on the grid yet, and next year, once I know what my actual bills are going to be for electricity, that's gonna be what makes or breaks this.

Freedom Solar was one of the recommended solar companies through a solar website. I picked them because of their more formal presentation. And the sales rep listened to us. We sat down and said what we were looking for in a system, and he gave us exactly what we were looking for, whereas the other company questioned our choices.

My sales agent at Freedom Solar has been very responsive. As far as getting ahold of customer service through their phone number, that's frustrating because it's always going to voicemail or an answering service. I have to wait at least a day to get a call back. I've tried email and they respond back the next day, which is fine. For email, that's not unusual, but I would expect that if I make a phone call to customer service, that I’ll be able to speak to a person.

I stumbled upon Freedom Solar, and I went with them 'cause they’re a big company and more likely to be around in the future. The downside is it’s taking a while. I have the solar people that's local here in Florida, and they said that it would take them 10 days, but it’s been a couple months already. But everything else has been smooth.

Started as the best company, chosen by comparison (~10), for installing a SunPower system at the time. Install process was fraught with miscommunication internally and lack of scheduling with local authorities. Install completion was delayed by months from original timeline. The project was not originally scoped correctly per requirements, but they made it right by adding more panels at no cost after I indicated that I would have to work rebid to all companies. Communication with the company and internally between different groups within the company is jumbled, inaccurate, and dismissive. Install was completed at the same time SunPower was going out of business. At the time, Freedom Solar guaranteed their 25-yr warranty on service and support.

I had solar before, and I wanted to get it again. Freedom took care of everything, and I did not have to do a whole lot. I’ve had them for a month or two already, and I like not paying the high electric bill.

The sales rep from Freedom Solar was good, and he clearly explained all the details to me. I've had good communication with the them. The installation is completed, and we're just waiting on the city visit, which is planned for tomorrow.

I had a good experience with Freedom Solar and didn't have any problems. From the bottom to the top, all the people that came out were nice and polite. They explained everything from beginning to end, and if I went out and asked any of the guys what they were doing, they explained it to me. I even asked the guy that came out with the drone, and he showed me how it worked. I’m 71, so they really had to explain things because I don’t know anything about any of it. Even if they explained until the cows come home, I wouldn’t get some of the ins and outs, but what I didn’t understand, my daughter does. She sat in on a lot of it and talked to the salesman when he came to the house, so she really knew more about it than I did.

I was looking for a solar installation on my new house. So, I did some online research and Freedom Solar was one of the options. I reached out through their website and got in touch with the salesperson. They came up and we had a meeting at my house. He reviewed everything.

I was interested in acquiring solar panels and saving money. Freedom Solar responds when you call them. Their representatives are very communicative and explain everything. Even the installation guy explained to me how the map goes. The installation went smoothly. Getting services from Freedom solar is a good investment.

I just bought my first home and I’ve always been interested in solar energy, so I put in my information online. Freedom Solar Power reached out to me and pretty much handled everything. The guys that were here were very nice and informative about everything that was gonna happen. Everything that they said is exactly what happened. Everyone was on schedule. The entire process has been smooth.

Freedom Power Solar was awesome. Installation went smoothly. They communicated with my brother who lives in my house there, and everything went well. I’m not liking anything about it yet ‘cause I haven't started saving any money ‘cause we're waiting for the inspection before they actually turn it on. But they've been very informative, friendly, and professional. They’ve been great.

Freedom carried the panels and the inverters that I wanted, so I bought solar from them. The sales person was very good. My interactions with their crew, electrician, sales people, and their overall team during the whole process were a simple flow. I understood that they had an open date for the installation process and I let them hop in. From the beginning, my experience has been nothing but positive. I would definitely recommend them.

Freedom Solar Power is a Tesla installer so I decided to go with them. Signing up with them was medium good. Some parts were easy, some parts were not. I’m really happy with the Tesla part, the Powerwall, the battery but there’s always room for improvement. Overall, I’m satisfied with them and I recommended them to my son.

Freedom Solar did a good job of taking care of any issues I had and got them resolved. But what’s impressed me the most is one, the sales rep that came out and did pictures was very knowledgeable. He did a very good job. I was also very impressed with the electricians, the people that set up the communications and everybody that did manual labor. They’re professional, caring and they try to do the right thing. We also had one engineer that was very good as far as communicating what was going on. But the lady that was over the project is well-overwhelmed.

The enrollment went smoothly. So far, I've been satisfied with Freedom Solar. It's only been a short time that I've had it. But so far, everything seems to be working as explained to me. I never had a solar system before, and being the first time, I like what I'm seeing so far. They kept in touch with me, texted me, and emailed me. As far as power consumption, the solar cell is working as I expected.

I liked the sales rep, Alina. After her presentation, it was a lengthy process due to all the people involved getting done what needed to be done. We had a bit of communication problem and there was a concern with the HOA and who was handling it and getting approval. It took two and a half months before Freedom Solar Power had the system installed. Other than that, all the crew that were out here did excellent work.

Freedom Solar’s sales representative, Chris, is very nice. He explained everything to me. The people who came to install the solar are amazing. It was a whole day when they installed the solar. But they are very good people, especially the people who work on the electric system. It was a really good experience. The other guy also monitors my account, like how much solar has produced and how it's going. He explained too many things to me. But still, we wouldn't get to know after one or two months how it's going.

I just enjoyed Freedom Solar for like three days because now I'm on leave. I'm overseas. So, I'm just waiting until I'm back to call them because I still have the same bill for my electricity. And I think it's higher. The experience was not bad. The process and the installation were good. But so far, I'm just waiting for the output. I think I can recommend Freedom Solar to my brother living in Texas.

I bought my system in 2019. When they sold me the system the micro inverters were from a company that went out of business in 2018. They never informed me they were installing parts from the company that is been out of business. now, six years later, I have three micro inverters not working. And they will not stand behind the 25 year warranty. And now they want to charge $100 a year to access the app.

1. I had Freedom Solar detach and re-attach my panels for a roof replacement. $5000 for taking them off, $5000 for putting them back on. Took them about 3 hours total. 2. I saw some panels were not producing on the installers app. Some panels were N/A. I took it for granted they would be fixed. Dumb on my part. 3. My system is putting 60% of what it was prior to detach and re-attach.
