How does Select Home Warranty work?

Select Home Warranty provides service contracts that cover the repair or replacement of major home systems and appliances, such as heating, cooling, plumbing, electrical systems and kitchen appliances. The company operates on a subscription model where homeowners pay a monthly or annual premium in exchange for coverage. Contracts are renewable each year, with discounts available.

If there’s an issue with any covered appliance or system, you file a claim. You will pay a service fee, and then Select Home Warranty (or a contractor working on its behalf) will repair or replace your appliance or system. Claims must be filed within three days of discovering the problem.

The company does not cover commercial properties, residential properties used for business or foreclosed properties.

Compare Select Home Warranty coverage

Select Home Warranty has three coverage plans:

  • Bronze Care covers eight major home appliances

  • Gold Care covers six major home systems

  • Platinum Care covers systems and appliances plus plumbing stoppages, garage door openers, ceiling fans and more

Here are the items covered under each of Select Home Warranty’s plans.

Select Home Warranty costs

As of publishing, Select Home Warranty’s rates range from $60.42 to $63.75 per month — a little higher than average home warranty costs, which range from about $30 to $90 a month.

You'll pay a service call fee every time a technician comes out (even if the issue isn't covered). Select Home Warranty’s service fees are $75 to $100.

Bronze CareGold CarePlatinum Care
Plan typeAppliancesSystemsCombo
Monthly cost$60.42$60.42$63.75
Yearly cost$629.99$629.99$674.99

Some home warranties have a “service recall period,” waiving the service call fee for any repeat visits for the same issue within a certain time frame. Select Home Warranty does not offer this. You must pay the service call fee each time a technician comes to your house.

Add-on coverage costs

The home warranty company also offers some nice-to-have optional add-on coverage plans.

Prices are based on quotes for a home in Houston and are accurate at the time of publishing.

Discounts

Select Home Warranty offers discounts for multiyear coverage plans. Select also offers periodic discounts. For example, when getting our quote, we received a discount for two months free and $150 off.

Select Benefits Program

Select Home Warranty offers the Select Benefits Program, which is designed to provide additional value beyond traditional home warranty coverage. The program offers members discounts of up to 75% on everyday purchases from participating retailers and service providers. Members can also earn cash back rewards on eligible purchases.

Select Home Warranty coverage limits

Many home warranty contracts will specify a coverage limit or cap, which is the most the company will pay out per item or per contract term. If the cost of a repair or replacement exceeds the set dollar limit, you are responsible for making up the difference to get the item fixed.

Select Home Warranty specifies the following replacement allowances in the contract:

How to file a claim with Select Home Warranty

To file a claim with Select Home Warranty, follow these steps:

  1. Contact Select via phone or email, or submit a claim online.

  2. Select will contact an independent contractor to provide repairs within two business days (up to four days if you make a claim during a weekend or holiday).

  3. You pay a service call fee to the contractor (starting at $75). If the repair is covered by your warranty, Select covers the rest of the cost.

Coverage begins after a 30-day waiting period, so claims submitted before your policy is effective won’t be covered. During the claims review process, Select Home Warranty may request documentation showing that a covered system or appliance has been properly maintained.

Even when a claim is approved, coverage limits may apply, meaning homeowners are responsible for any repair or replacement costs that exceed the plan's maximum payout.

Select Home Warranty coverage exclusions

Warranties generally don’t cover preexisting conditions, cosmetic issues or item upgrades. Select Home Warranty’s terms and conditions specify it does not cover anything related to hazardous materials like asbestos, lead or gas leaks. It also doesn't cover damage that’s the result of an act of nature or due to previous improper care, installation or failure to properly maintain a system or appliance. The following are general exclusions to covered appliances and systems:

  • Shelves

  • Door handles

  • Doors

  • Hinges

  • Knobs and buttons

  • Door seals

  • Freon

  • Damage from a freon leak

  • Displays

  • Latches

  • Timers

  • Leveling equipment

  • Clogged drains or lines

  • Cosmetic issues

  • Gaskets

  • Leak searches

  • Lights

  • Noise

  • Refrigerants

  • Valves

  • Dispensers

  • Installation

  • Electrical failures and upgrades

Sometimes, parts or components of a covered home system or appliance are not covered. For example, Select Home Warranty lists the following exclusions for its dishwasher coverage: control board pump, switches, drain pump, temp control, heating elements and drain lines.

A full list of exclusions can be found in Select Home Warranty’s terms and conditions, which will be listed in your contract.

I had been looking for coverage for appliances, AC, etc. Select Home warranty came up for me and I called them. I spoke to a young man named Dylan. He was amazing. He made everything so clear and easy for me. I was delighted. I was able to get a policy with him that I could afford that made sense and actually sound like pretty much of a bargain. I had read reviews which helped me make my choice, but honestly, it was all Dylan. Dylan was just amazing. He explained everything to me so well so clearly that it became an easy decision to make to take advantage of select home warranty. I start my coverage in October. I will definitely visit this site again.

After I have any use of calling SHW. If this company stands up to what Dylan explained to me. I will get back on this site and give you another report. Like I said to me it sounded like almost too good to be true. That expression makes me very nervous so, as much as I hope that I don’t have any issues, I’m anxious to see how well they take care of my problems. Thank you, Dylan. You were great.

The problem was the motor fan is not working. The contractor contacted SHW and reported the issue. Another day has passed and no contact from SHW. I’ve now called 3 times and still no resolution. The company cannot be trusted. Do not ever signup with them. I was a member for 5 years and just signed up for another 5 years. It is not the same company! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY,!! This is the worst company I've ever done business with. The customer service is atrocious and they try and nickel and dime at every corner. BUYER BEWARE!!! Select Home Warranty has been one of the worst companies I have dealt with. I purchased a home warranty expecting it to provide some level of protection when something went wrong, but my experience has been extremely disappointing. I have now called them for two separate claims. For my first claim, my plumber charged me $600, and Select Home Warranty only reimbursed me $85. Now I have a hot water leak, and they have completely denied the claim. And GOOD LUCK trying to cancel your policy if you're unhappy! I called to cancel and instead of simply honoring my request, they kept me on the phone while repeatedly trying to convince me to stay and upsell me. If a customer is unhappy and wants to cancel, it should not be this difficult.

At this point, I genuinely do not understand what I am paying them for. When you purchase a home warranty, you expect it to actually help with unexpected repairs, not leave you paying almost everything out of pocket or deny the claim altogether. Based on my experience, I would strongly encourage anyone considering Select Home Warranty to read the contract, exclusions, coverage limits, AND cancellation terms very carefully before purchasing. BUYER BEWARE. I would not purchase a policy from this company again.

With extreme disappointment and frustration, I strongly warn all potential customers to avoid Select Home Warranty. It is nothing more than throwing your money away. Over the years, I have filed multiple claims and not a single one was resolved to my satisfaction. They consistently find loopholes to claim issues are not covered, leaving you to pay out of pocket. Their processing time is incredibly slow, meaning your appliances remain broken for weeks or months. Furthermore, most technicians avoid working with them and rank them as lowest priority due to poor communication and payment issues. Save yourself the time and energy and look elsewhere for a reliable warranty.

Three years of paying for a warranty, and apparently it means nothing when you actually need them. I am beyond disappointed with Select Home Warranty. We’ve been paying them for nearly three years, and when we finally needed them for a major issue with our air conditioning system, they found a reason not to cover it. Their contractor blamed the problem on electrical damage from a storm. Except there hadn’t been a storm in over a month. So I did what any reasonable homeowner would do and paid to have my own HVAC company come out and inspect it. Their diagnosis was that the problem was due to old wiring and the age and deterioration of the unit—not storm damage. Did Select reconsider? Nope. Instead, they denied the claim anyway, changing the explanation from it supposedly not being normal wear and tear to calling it an excluded electrical failure.

At this point, I have to ask: What exactly are we paying for? It feels like the moment you actually need Select Home Warranty to come through on something expensive, they look for an exclusion rather than looking for a way to honor the coverage you’ve been paying for. We have paid them for nearly three years and now have a major AC expense sitting in our lap. I honestly feel like I wasted all of that money on a warranty that isn’t there when you actually need it. I am incredibly frustrated and disappointed with this company. Based on this experience, I would absolutely think twice before giving Select Home Warranty your money. Make sure you read the fine print, because apparently paying for coverage and actually getting coverage are two very different things.

They don't even deserve 1 star! I looked at all these different sites to get recommendations and SHW was supposed to be one of the best. Just had to use it for the first time and found out that they will not cover HVAC. Compressor went out due to normal wear and tear from an electrical failure which is the number 1 reason they go out. When I made the warranty purchase, they assured me they cover everything. People buy a home warranty for peace of mind. SHW is a piece of S--T! It's 100 degrees out and they don't even call or email to say they are not covering it, and we are now 48 hours later, and they deny a claim, which is the entire reason people buy the warranties. I will be sharing this with everyone. Find a different warranty company because SELECT HOME WARRANTY is a TOTAL SCAM!!!

Confidence trickery is my opinion with this company. I was in the market for a cheaper home warranty than my previous one, because they were getting expensive every year. I found Select Home Warranty thru Google search. I spoke to a person who brought down my price 3 times. I was thinking, "This is good. They are willing to work with you." He even got my deductible down per call. What I don’t like is they don’t really disclose fine print. I asked for the highest plan they have so I don’t have to worry about anything. My contract was yearly because it was cheaper. My second year with them, I called in because my ice maker broke on my fridge. They told me that it wasn’t covered under my plan and that is an additional cost.

This blew my mind, small item not covered on my best and highest policy. The rep told me that it covers everything and he did not mentioned any additional fee on top of what I paid. Confidence trickery!!!! The day they called me that it wasn’t covered, I immediately went off on them being a liar and I cancelled my policy right away on the same phone call. It took a while to cancel because they were trying to retain me for half an hour. After they process me out they told me that I will receive the reimbursement check within a few weeks. After a few minutes, I received an email about the reimbursement.

It’s been more than a month and still have not receive my check. I called them again, it took almost half an hour again to finally check on my check because they have to go through all the freaking question on their list on how to talk to customer. I got transferred 3 times to three different department with all the same questions on the list, really frustrating when all three are asking the same questions. Very irritating. I finally got the right department only to tell me that it takes at least 30 days to process me out and another 2-3 weeks before they can mail my reimbursement check. What kind of company is Select Home Warranty????

      Reviewed Sept. 15, 2026

I am extremely disappointed with Select Home Warranty and the way my HVAC claim was handled. My Trane air conditioner stopped working, so I filed a claim. Select Home Warranty sent a small company after about two days. It appeared to be more of a handyman-type company, and it was very difficult to find reliable information about them online. After inspecting my Trane system, they told me that they could not diagnose or repair it and that I needed a Trane specialist.

I continued with the claim and Select Home Warranty sent two additional HVAC companies. Unfortunately, both companies also said they could not properly diagnose or repair the system. At that point, after multiple unsuccessful service visits, I contacted an authorized Trane dealer myself and had a Trane specialist properly diagnose and repair the problem. The total bill was $256.

I contacted Select Home Warranty before submitting the receipt, and I was told to send them the receipt and that they would reimburse me by check. However, they ultimately sent me only $73, claiming that because I used an outside company, their policy only allowed them to pay $73. This makes absolutely no sense to me. If the companies Select Home Warranty sent had actually been able to diagnose and repair my HVAC system, why would I have needed to hire an outside Trane specialist in the first place? I did not choose to use an outside contractor simply because I wanted to. I did so only after multiple contractors sent by Select Home Warranty failed to resolve the problem.

The repair was performed by a legitimate Trane dealer/specialist, with a real $256 invoice—not by some unknown small company that Select Home Warranty sent out. The amount of money involved is not the main issue. The issue is the principle and the way this claim was handled. I paid for a home warranty expecting the company to provide competent service when my covered equipment failed. Instead, after several unsuccessful service visits, I had to find a qualified specialist myself and was then reimbursed for only a small fraction of the actual repair cost.

I am sharing my experience so other homeowners understand what they may be dealing with before purchasing a policy. Claim #: **. Select Home Warranty: I strongly recommend reviewing this claim and explaining why, after your assigned contractors were unable to repair my Trane system, you reimbursed only $73 of a legitimate $256 repair bill.

My experience with Select Home Warranty has been extremely disappointing. I purchased and paid for a home warranty expecting protection when something went wrong. Since purchasing the policy, I submitted three separate claims, and none of the three resulted in coverage. After that experience, I decided to cancel my policy. I called Select Home Warranty and specifically requested cancellation. I was told that my policy was canceled. Weeks later, I still had not received my refund. I called again on August 21 to ask where my refund was and was told that refunds take time.

When I followed up again, I discovered something even more frustrating: apparently my original cancellation request had not actually been processed. Select Home Warranty was now treating August 21—the date I called to FOLLOW UP about my refund—as the cancellation date. Because of that, the refund I am being offered is lower than it would have been if the company had processed my cancellation on the date I originally requested it.

Think about how frustrating that is: I called to cancel, was told it was canceled, waited for my refund, called to ask where my refund was, and then discovered that the cancellation apparently wasn’t processed until that later call. I should not lose money because a company failed to process my cancellation when I requested it. I am asking Select Home Warranty to review the recordings and records of my original cancellation call, honor the date on which I actually requested cancellation, recalculate my refund using that date, and issue the money owed to me promptly. I am sharing my experience so other consumers understand what happened to me before deciding whether to purchase this service.

I will not give them a zero because they DO respond, and they HAVE come out and occasionally even helped! But MOST of the time, if they do help, they will offer only about 1/3 of the actual cost of fixing or replacing the item. Often they find loopholes. For instance, today, when I submitted a claim on our AC system, they told me they didn't cover leaks. WHAT? When I finally need help with the AC and Furnace system, they now tell me they "don't cover" leaks. This happens a LOT. I do NOT recommend this company. If I had to do it again, I would NOT use them. I have used the old Sears Repair Service warranty, and they were GREAT! This company is just a little better than nothing. But you have to do a lot of work to get not much.

The home warranty company sends a technician for a diagnosis, which I have to pay $75. The defective part, "the igniter," was approved and covered by the home warranty company; however labor for the repair is not covered, which I have to pay out of pocket. Isn't it ridiculous? They state that one of the paragraphs 9.1.2 mentioned about installation, but from what I have read, installation is not covered for "non-covered" parts. And that paragraph clearly states, "This policy covers mechanical breakdowns".

The last three claims that I had with them have been a complete failure on their part to honor our contract. I’ve had to pay for parts for a dishwasher repair, repair a plumbing job myself because they refused to accept the responsibility of the repair and insisted that the problem was something other than what it truly was.

I had the same experience with the last claim, where they insisted that a part that was needed to fix my AC unit was not covered due to electrical failure. I even went to the extent of having the AC Company that they selected, to write them a letter stating that it failed due to wear and tear and NOT electrical failure. I made numerous calls to customer service where I got scripted BS and refusal to work with me on resolving my situation.

I am cancelling my account with them and demanding a complete refund of my money that was paid to them for their “supposed” warranty on my household appliances etc… The lack of clear communication and delayed response times have made an already stressful situation much worse. A home warranty is supposed to offer peace of mind, but this has been nothing but a headache. I highly recommend to NOT sign up with this company for your Home Warranty plan.

What a clown show!! Tech sent out from Left Coast air was incompetent, stated we needed a new compressor for our air conditioner. One week later no report sent to SHW. Near impossible to reach Left Coast air via phone. No follow up from Left Coast air. SHW was to find another vendor to address the issue but failed to notify us and I had to find out via a call to customer (non) service at SHW. In the meanwhile my wife had a friend of our Handyman look at the unit and he repaired it within 10 minutes and no need for a compressor. SHW would not refund me the $75 service call fee. Horrible experience!!

Before I purchased a warranty from them I asked the sales person for a sample copy of the contract and was told I couldn't get one but I had 30 days to cancel and get a refund. I purchased the warranty and after reading the contract, I discovered that the sales person mis-represented the coverage. I immediately called and cancelled the contract expecting to get a refund. To make a long frustrating story short, it took them 4 months to refund my payment after repeated calls and experiencing their stalling tactics. Be forewarned!!

I had a terrible experience with Select Home Warranty. When my refrigerator ice maker stopped working, I contacted them expecting it to be covered under my home warranty. To my frustration, they refused to cover the ice maker, even though it is an integral part of the refrigerator. The experience was extremely disappointing, and I felt that Select Home Warranty did not stand behind the coverage I was paying for. I would think twice before purchasing this warranty, and based on my experience I cannot recommend them.

Not sure about the individuals that gave this company a 5 star review.. Must not have been about their furnace.. I started a claim in February after my furnace stopped working. I contacted SHW and submitted a claim. Months went by, I called and they tell me that all of their techs are busy so I should find one myself.. (this should have been my first clue that this company is worthless) I finally found a heating and air company that is willing to work with a home warranty company. They come out, looked everything over and said that the heat exchanger is cracked and blowing the fire out of the furnace instead of blowing inside the unit.. Now the exchanger is one of the more important parts in a gas furnace..

After 8 months of trying to get a response from this clown show, I'm told that the exchanger isn't covered so I was on my own... Now when their ringleader came to my house to initially con me into a 3 year contract, I asked all the right questions like if my fridge stops working? I was assured that SHW would either fix it or replace it.. Same with furnace, dishwasher, etc.. Well, I was hoodwinked.. I guess that I should have read the really fine print that was probably on page 100 in small print below the statement that says 'This agreement covers all module components and parts of the heating system necessary to the functionality of the heating system'..then it lists what it doesn't cover like solar heating, portable heating units and a variety of other heating units not covered..

THEN, in a different font, they start listing all the components of the main, supposedly covered furnace that are not covered.. And wouldn't you know it, every part thats listed is required in order for the furnace to work.. So, I was told one thing, but when it came down to actually needing their assistance, you're not covered..

MY CLAIM WAS DENIED!!! I'm 70 years old and on social security and was informed that their suggestion is to get with my ac tech and replace my $4000 furnace on my own... What a circus..

I should have checked the reviews before I purchased. It appears I'm not the only one who is having this issue with Select Home Warranty...by far!!! They told me it is more efficient to replace my appliance than to repair and offered me less than half of the replacement (approx. 40%). So as you can imagine they do not provide the peace of mind a Home Warranty is supposed to provide....far from it! Not only are they not covering the replacement cost but they won't even cover the installation.

I'm expected to absorb not only approx. 60% of what it cost to replace my appliance (after paying this home warranty so I wouldn't have to do just that) but they won't even provide installation. The previous company I used not only covered replacement but they sent out a repair company to do the installation as well (I only switched to save $$$...joke's on me)!!! I would advise not to waist money going with Select... Choice Home Warranty is a MUCH better option!!!!

STAY AWAY FROM SELECT HOME WARRANTY. After a year of paying $47.95 every month for Select Home Warranty’s Platinum coverage, I can confidently say this has been one of the most frustrating and disappointing services I have ever paid for. The problems started when I actually needed to USE the warranty. I filed a claim for an electrical issue. It took close to 10 days just to get the claim approved and a contractor assigned. The contractor Select sent could only come to my home between 3:00 and 7:00 PM and could not accommodate another timeframe or even a weekend appointment. I live in a normal, populated area, so I asked Select to assign another electrical contractor.

They couldn’t. At that point, I called to cancel. Suddenly, they were apologetic and eager to keep my business. I was promised that my monthly payment would be reduced from $47.95 to $42.95, and I was told they would work with me so I could get the electrical issue handled on my own. That never came to fruition. Even worse, they continued charging me $47.95.

So I called to cancel AGAIN. Once again, I received apologies and another sales pitch. This time, they offered some type of buying-club membership that supposedly normally costs money. I specifically told them I had absolutely no interest in it. Then they offered to take another $5 off my monthly payment if I would stay. Against my better judgment, I agreed to give them one more chance because I genuinely wanted home warranty coverage.

Then my refrigerator’s ice maker broke. I submitted a claim and, within 24 hours, it was DENIED because apparently the ice maker isn’t covered under my Platinum policy, their highest level of coverage. At that point, I was done. Then I discovered that instead of the reduced monthly rate I had been promised, my payment had actually increased to $49.95.

When I called to cancel for the THIRD time, I spent approximately 30 minutes on the phone just trying to get the account canceled. Even while I was trying to cancel because of their poor service, they continued trying to SELL ME MORE SERVICES. I was offered the opportunity to pay $99 instead of $139 to add additional coverage for the ice maker.

No. I was done giving this company money. Then came the final insult: after everything above, I was told I would owe a $75 termination fee to cancel. My experience with Select Home Warranty has been a cycle of paying monthly premiums, struggling to actually receive service, being promised discounts that were not reflected in my billing, having claims denied, being repeatedly upsold when trying to cancel, and then being told I owe a fee just to leave.

A home warranty is supposed to provide peace of mind when something goes wrong in your home. In my experience, Select Home Warranty provided exactly the opposite. Before giving this company your credit card information, read the fine print, ask exactly what is and is not covered, ask about cancellation fees, and pay very close attention to your monthly charges. I wish I had. I would absolutely NOT recommend Select Home Warranty.

Don't fall for their low annual or monthly subscription price! I filed a claim for my garbage disposal and they said it's only covered at $75 for the unit (only). So I purchased one for $119 at Costco and had it installed, paying a total of $408 out of my pocket. Next, my microwave oven stopped working. I filed a claim and Select said they only cover $135 for the unit (only). My microwave is Samsung and they cost more than this. Plus, to have it installed, will cost even more. I should've renewed with my previous home warranty company. SELECT HOME WARRANTY is useless.

Two unresolved claims, no technician for weeks, and still not reimbursed. I strongly recommend that anyone considering Select Home Warranty understand our experience before purchasing a policy. In mid-July 2026, our A/C stopped cooling our home. The temperature inside eventually reached approximately 88 degrees, and we had three young children in the house. Select told us they could not provide a technician for several days and specifically advised us that we could find our own technician if we could get someone there sooner. We followed those instructions.

Our technician came the following day, diagnosed a failed condenser, replaced it, and restored the A/C. I immediately attempted to contact Select and spent approximately 20 minutes on hold. After reaching a representative, I explained exactly what happened and was instructed to submit the technician’s invoice, photographs, contact information, and service documentation, which I did. We are still more than $650 out of pocket.

Since then, we have made numerous phone calls, sent multiple emails, requested escalation, and asked for management review. Select continues citing a prior-authorization provision but has never meaningfully addressed the fact that Select itself told us to obtain our own technician because they could not provide one promptly. I have repeatedly asked one simple question: What exactly were we reasonably supposed to do differently? We have never received a substantive answer.

Unfortunately, this is no longer an isolated claim. We filed another claim for our broken washing machine on August 18, 2026. As of September 7, Select still has not assigned a technician to come to our house. Their solution is once again to tell us to hire our own technician and contact Select for authorization. After still not being reimbursed for the A/C repair, we are obviously unwilling to put ourselves in that position again. Both my wife and I have also separately contacted an escalation representative by email, as specifically directed by his voicemail, and neither of us received a response.

We purchased a home warranty so that when covered systems or appliances failed, the warranty company would help arrange and cover eligible repairs. Instead, one repair remains unpaid and another claim has gone approximately three weeks without a technician being assigned while we continue paying for the warranty. We have made extensive efforts to resolve this privately before posting reviews and filing formal complaints. Until Select reimburses the A/C repair and properly handles the washing-machine claim, I cannot recommend this company. If Select resolves these matters fairly, I will update this review accordingly.

Today is 9/6, on 8/10 I called them due to air going out. On 8/12 someone came out...basically let me know the issue but stated due to the age of my unit and cost of repair it would be best to replace entire unit. He said it would take 2 days for Select to get back to me. They never did. When I called they said they would call contractor and call me back...They never did...I called again...While on the line I was told the contractor said he was waiting on parts to come. I said with no approval and what parts...then told contractor said it was just a freon leak. I reached out to my corporate connection James **, who said he would help with cost but does not cover freon leak...I told him it was larger than that and he stopped responding to my emails.

I paid for a 2nd opinion...Found out the first contractor was supposed to turn the unit off...but he never did, it was running on nothing for weeks. I sent a message to the info line...They just said to call the company again...I did and was told they had the new information and to wait 2 days for an approval...Still nothing. I had to call again and the person I spoke to spent so much time repeating what I said just to say wait 2 more business days. I paid for a 5 year plan and got 1 free. I asked James about a refund of what's left being that it terminates in 2028. He said I would get nothing.

Charlotte, NC 28277. After paying $500+ and never having a claim until this Wed 9/2. I request washing machine service via the portal. I never got confirmation that a tech was dispatched, so I called customer service. The 1st CS rep told me, GE is a partner and that they'd do the service. He called GE, but nobody answered, so he found another company G&J. He said, "They will be out to your home Wed between 2-4." I was like WOW and filled out the customer survey for an additional month of coverage.

Later that day, I received a schedule option form, i.e., here are the days and times G&J can service your washer. I selected Thur 8-12 and Thur 12-4 and Friday 8-12 i.e., 9/3 and 9/4, I also called and text them to call me, but they did not. Thursday comes and goes and no G&J service. I called your customer service again, this time, the young lady called G&J herself and said the tech will call. No call. So I called again Thursday late 5:00pm and your customer service person said, "I will have G&J tech call you directly."

I get a call from a G&J tech who could not speak English and he said, "The soonest I can come out is Wed 9/10." I said, "I have a house full of people coming during the holidays and I need the washer to work." I called back to Customer Service again, and they suggested I find my own tech, but there is no way I'm going to find someone on Friday before a holiday. And if I knew you could not have helped me on Wed, 9/2 I could have found a company.

The representative rushed me into getting their business, even that I asked him to give me a day. It was my fault I know to let me rush into that decision. After revising the contract, I found that there were too many exceptions. I called to ask for clarification but the person was not helpful at all. I just wanted reassurance, and I didn’t get it. So I made the decision to cancel. When I called to cancel, they put me on hold for a long time. I called again and again, and every time they put me on hold. Finally, I sent an email canceling. They answered with a case number saying that someone will contact me in 24 hours. I really hate people like that, rushing potential customers into signing when is evident that they’re not ready. I’m glad I canceled since their attitude and lack of good customer service practices told me that to file a claim with them would have been a nightmare.

I do not like this company and will not renew. They send dubious companies for repairs; they do not offer a convenient chat option to ask questions (like most other home warranty companies). You can initially place your claim online, but after that, you cannot chat or email concerns, they force you to call their Indian-based call center and ask them 10x "what are saying? I can't understand you." When you are already frustrated about addressing what is broken in your home, this makes it SO much more overwhelmingly frustrating. If any company should have a chat system, it's them.

The lack of communication on their end, then they would close the claim without even speaking with me, causing me to have to start a new claim. The only time they wanted to resolve is when I would ask to cancel my policy. Even with cancelling the policy, they dragged their feet on it, trying to keep charging my card until I had to finally close out the card I had on file. I would not recommend anyone to use them ever. They may be cheap, but I promise you, they are not worth it. Also, you have to pay $75 just to cancel, regardless of how long you have used them.
