Solar Power of Oklahoma is owned and operated by local Okies who know how to customize solar systems best in different parts of the state. Systems are specially designed for strong winds of up to over 150 miles per hour.
We also like that Solar Power of Oklahoma doesn’t subcontract any installations to third-party contractors. Once your system is set up, you can connect to the Enphase monitoring app to track energy production.
- “I was so blown away by their presentation and the cost and everything they said. I thought about 12 hours and then I called them and said, ‘Let’s install this.’ … My electric bill before was on average $125 a month, but now, it is always about $14.97. For January, February, March, and April, I over produced about 600 kilowatts, and here in Oklahoma, they give you a credit. But it's been very cloudy this month. So we're producing less because of the clouds. But I have all this credit, so it'll be carried over into this month. So I still won't have a bill.” — Lowell in Oklahoma City
- “We signed the contract with Solar Power of Oklahoma in mid-December and my panels were turned on in March, which was what I expected. We knew that it's weather dependent and I signed it in December rather than wait because that qualified us for the tax incentive. The installation of the solar panels on my roof took a day and a half. I’m very happy with it. After it was set up, I was excited to see my meter running backward and I took a video of that.” — Jeff in Edmond
- “We were coming out right at a year of having our panels installed. And there was a lot of stuff going on with them, with the weather. So, Solar Power of Oklahoma jumped through some hoops to get us moved up the line. And overall, they did well. … We've got it at 50% reliability on the grid. We started out $45 in the whole, every month, because they have a service availability they charge. And this last month, we finally produced enough that we reduced some of that.” — Jim in Noble
Solar installations are complicated projects, and there’s always the chance of miscommunication. Percy in Norman felt that the rep didn’t adequately explain important details about their energy production, especially how much their electric company (OG&E) would pay for excess solar energy production. Percy would have appreciated a more thorough explanation upfront.
Solar Power of Oklahoma’s NABCEP-certified installers have done about 120,000 solar panel installations throughout the state so far and won Solar Power World's Best Solar Contractor in Oklahoma in 2022 and 2023. It has offices in Oklahoma City and Tulsa.
