STAY AWAY FROM TOP TIER. I purchased consumption batteries back in March and was installed in May. They never worked from the start. They will NEVER return your calls. They were suppose to be here my September to finally fix them but cancelled the week before. I have been paying monthly for something that still doesn’t work and they are TOTATLY ignoring me. By the way these batteries cost a total of 24k.

I will make this short. My personal experience has been that I was lied to by Top Tier. YES I got the battery storage system they promised and YES it was installed and is working properly but no I have not received the $2000.00 dollars top tier promised for financing through their connected service finance company. It has been months since we last communicated and promised at that time the check was in the mail. THEY HAVE NOT KEPT THEIR PROMISE.

Worst customer service I ever encountered. Like the other reviews no call back to questions. No email response, battery storage installed but not wired up, no one has called to say if or when they will complete the installation. They came out Sept 3rd. Tech had to leave. Had an emergency ok could happen, here it is Sept 21. Nothing. So I guess I'll just wait to see what they want to do. If there were no stars that would have been my experience rating.

DO NOT USE… The sales person came out and talked to us about batteries. We had been planning to get batteries so we went with Top Tier Solar Solutions. THE WORST DECISION WE COULD’VE MADE. The sales person said to us, "If you have any questions, call me directly." My husband called once and he answered. I take it he didn’t like the questions we asked so from that point he would not answer our calls. The project manager calls and says, "I will keep you informed on each step of the process." That was a lie, I never heard from him again, I emailed, he did not respond. I called customer service several times, never spoke to a person, always the automated service which put me on hold only to be told “the number was no longer in service.” Every person I tried to call number was no longer in service🤔If I could give a NEGATIVE 5 I would.

DO NOT USE!!!, Especially if you are in Charleston, SC! They are just another typical service company in 2026. Come do a little bit of work, collect the money, and then never hear from them again! I had a system installed a little over a month ago, and it’s still not turned on and working. The permit got denied by the county because the contractor does not have a license on file. Therefore, it cannot get inspected, so Dominion can come out and actually activate the system. Getting ready to make my first payment on my system, and it hasn’t produced a lick of power since it got installed. Can’t get anyone on the phone, the people I do talk to can’t give me any kind of answers, customer service keeps telling me they’ll let the project manager know, but no one reaches out, I’ve exhausted nearly all options.

They do not answer calls or emails. And got my money but didn’t do what they were supposed to do, and now no one will answer, so don’t use them for anything, unless you just want to give away money.

I wish I would have read these before I purchased. Top Tier is horrendous to say the least. Once they get you to sign off on the item being installed, they abandon you completely left to pay the bill for something that does not even work. I am looking into legal action as I am writing this. Save yourself the headache and go with someone else.

Top Tier solutions installed one battery at my home and charging me for two batteries. I didn't top realize it until the guy bfrom Dominion came out to hook it up and he asked where the other battery was. The one battery has been installed since March 26, and It is still not hooked up. My solar panels were installed by another company several years ago. They did a great job and were responsive., (Gold Path Solar). The agent at Top Tier says I will be reimbursement for the monies I've paid. No reimbursement has come yet.

Dealing with Top Tier Solar is worse than working with the cable company and a car dealership combined. Deceptive sales practices - salesman made promises that the company now claims aren't "services they offer," you have to beg for updates from project managers, customer service, and even execs. Their employees just leave the company mid-project and you hear nothing back. They installed my first set of panels at night with smartphone flashlights. They 'forgot' to install the transfer switch I paid over $1k for until I asked about it. It took them EIGHT MONTHS to get approval for my panel addition to operate. I am reporting this company to the North Carolina Consumer Protection Agency. Do NOT use this company. They are absolutely awful.

Worst customer service I’ve ever dealt with. They have great salesmen that will tell you they have good customer service, but it’s a lie. I’ve had multiple appointments made to have someone inspect my solar panels, but they’ve all been no call-no show. The representative that helped me set the appointments told me they can’t give me the number to the technicians that actually come out to serviced the panels, nor will she give me the contact of any manager. That makes no sense to me, y'all are the same company. After multiple times of setting me an appointment and no one showing up, the representative that was working with me just stopped responding to me. This has happened before.

This company really disappointed us! Initially the salesman reassured us that the two battery system was what we needed, a $27k dollar battery system to make our solar System complete, and we agreed. They said that a project manager would contact us to set up all of the installation... And we never seen a project manager! We gave them $10,000 deposit and they agreed to install everything in a timely manner. We still never seen a project manager! Then the workers showed up to do the install.

Our experience with Top Tier Solar Solutions has been extremely frustrating and disappointing. We agreed to purchase a solar battery system after discussing the financing with Top Tier. The financing offered through Service Finance was approximately $400 per month, and we made it very clear that we could not afford that payment and would not move forward under those terms. We were then told by Top Tier representatives that if we accepted the financing approval, Top Tier would refinance the loan in-house afterward and reduce the monthly payment to a more affordable amount. We relied on that representation when we agreed to move forward with the approximately $22,000 financing.

Sent me a cold text that started with saying "Thank you for opting in to receiving SMS messages from us" something that I never did. Followed up with "our technicians are performing system audits to ensure your inverter is operating at full capacity. Nothing major, we just want to verify that your system is functioning properly." This was all just an excuse for them to send a sales rep out to try and upsell me batteries for my solar system.

The salesperson who came to our home was very personable and respectful. He answered our questions and provided a lot of information for us. However, when we told him we weren't ready to sign on the spot, he continued to prod. I made it clear that we didn't need to hear anymore at that time but we need to discuss it amongst ourselves. He decided to call the VP to see if there were any other deals. The VP was on speaker phone and the same information was relayed to him and he continued to try and push us and prod for more information. At that point I said the conversation was over and asked the salesperson to leave. We then heard the VP say "that's fine, I wouldn't want to work with these people anyway". My husband let him know we could still hear him to which he replied "Yeah I know, that's why I said it like that". Not a problem, we will NEVER work with them!

BEWARE of Top Tier Solar Solutions – Stay Away! Since the 30% Federal Tax Credit went away at the end of ‘25, Top Tier has been scamming customers left and right. It starts with a text out of nowhere stating “This is (reps name) reaching out about your solar panels. We work directly with SolarEdge and Enphase. Our technicians are performing system audits to ensure your inverter is still operating at full capacity. Nothing major, we just want to verify your system isn’t losing power. We will be in your area today and tomorrow (dates and times). The appointment is free and it should take only 45 min. What time works for you?”. (Does this not sound like an obvious scam?).

This company has been a nightmare for us; I would give them -5 stars if I could. They mislead us multiple times right from the start. We had to get lawyers involved when their insulation people did REALLY shoddy work in the attic; we couldn't get the company to respond to any of our calls. Insulation is part of their roof package. Had to throw someone from Top Tier out only just this morning as they claimed they wanted to do an audit on our setup, you know, the one THEY set up. It was a cover and ultimately to try and sell us a battery to the tune of $192.00 a month for the next twenty years. We suspected they would try something like this. They would not take a firm "NO", they just kept pressuring aggressively, got a little rude and began claiming that "It'll look really bad on us as a solar company if you don't buy this battery because you're still paying a little to the power company; it just makes us look really bad".

I would have to say make sure you read your contract. The way it was sold to me was that the panels would be powering my home then the excess produced energy would be sent to the power company. In actuality, all of your energy generated is sent to your power company then back to your home. Which sounds like it’s the same, but it’s not. Power companies switched from net metering in my state, which was a 1-for-1 transaction. Now they buy your kW at wholesale price and sell it back to you when you need it at an upcharge. I know what you’re thinking, that sounds like the power companies fault. In part yes, but Top Tier was aware this law was passed and never mentioned it one time as being a possibility. Not only that but they lead me to believe I would be storing my own energy as if I would have a battery. Now to remedy this they offered to install a battery for an additional $20k. Very, very expensive mistake going solar with this company.

They sold me solar panels and told me would supply all my electricity, did not, provides very little. They came back and tried to sell me more panels, when I complained they did nothing. I complained to my state Attorney General and Top Tier told me to drop complaint and they would upgrade me at no charge. I did that and to this day no upgrades. This company is a fraud run by liars and thieves.
