    Reviewed May 10, 2025

I hired Green Power Energy to install a solar system at my home. The system was turned on April 24, 2025, and immediately afterward I began experiencing electrical problems, including flickering lights. These issues progressively worsened. A licensed electrician inspected the system and discovered damage to the main meter lug—a critical and dangerous fault that can cause fire or complete electrical failure. United Illuminated, the utility company that installed the bidirectional meter, confirmed that their work did not affect the lug. Therefore, the most plausible cause is disruption during Green Power Energy’s installation.

I contacted the company. They acknowledged the issue but denied any responsibility, stating they did not touch the damaged connection. However, this component is integral to a solar system’s connection, and the installer is obligated to inspect it. The damage was either caused or missed during installation, and their failure to catch or disclose it constitutes negligence. When something goes wrong, homeowners deserve more than a denial. Beware!!
