Momentum Solar panels and equipment

Momentum Solar offers solar panels and equipment from a variety of brands, but it only installs Tier 1 solar panels. This helps ensure that customers receive a solar energy system that is both efficient and durable. To qualify as a Tier 1 solar panel manufacturer, a company must have been producing panels for more than five years, have fully automated production and have a high degree of vertical integration.

Momentum Solar installation

Momentum Solar’s installation process features five main steps:

  1. Consultation: Schedule a free consultation with one of Momentum’s solar specialists, who will review your energy needs and answer any questions. These consultations can take place over the phone or through Zoom.
  2. Design: The solar specialists will finalize the design of your solar energy system. These experts will create a unique system that is suited to your home and needs.
  3. Permitting: All required paperwork and permits are handled by a designated project manager. This includes paperwork needed by your city and local utility company.
  4. Installation: The formal solar installation process takes approximately four to eight hours. It includes a shade assessment and a full demonstration of how to start and shut down your new system.
  5. Activation: Momentum Solar will request “permission to operate” from your local utility company or municipality. Once this permission is received, you’re ready to start generating solar energy.

Momentum Solar services

Momentum Solar offers solar energy storage solutions for residential customers through its exclusive partnership with Enphase. These systems store excess energy produced by your solar panels for use at a later time, usually due to a power outage caused by extreme weather.

Equipment options include the Encharge 10, Encharge 3 and Enpower Smart Switch systems.

Momentum Solar costs

You can get a better idea of how much Momentum Solar will cost by requesting a free online quote. For more specific information, you can meet with a Momentum Solar specialist to discuss options.

Many factors influence Momentum Solar costs, including the shape of the roof, the size of the home and which direction the roof faces. Larger systems are more expensive upfront but produce more electricity, which saves more money over time. There are also many federal, state and local tax incentives available to defray the cost of installing solar power.

Financing

Momentum Solar offers customers four financing options: purchase, loan, lease and power purchase agreement (PPA).

  1. Purchase: You own your solar panel system and can see immediate monthly savings on your energy bill.
  2. Loan: Customers borrow money to buy the solar panels and receive the power produced.
  3. Lease: Momentum Solar owns and installs the panels. The customer leases them and receives all the power produced.
  4. PPA: Momentum Solar owns and installs the solar panels and customers buy back the power produced.

Momentum Solar warranty

Momentum Solar provides a 25-year equipment and workmanship warranty on its solar systems.

Had a good overall experience with Momentum. Cash customer 2 years back for 15 panels. Production has been right in line with what they predicted a little over 6kwh / yr. I worked well with the on-site electricians that were sent and got their equipment mounted on a 3/4" Azek panel instead of the vinyl siding. Came out neat and professional. There was a hiccup I remember briefly when the system was coming online I could not connect to the Enphase equipment thru my wifi. In the end the fix was turning my phone off and restarting the phone and it came right up.

This company is terrible for customer service! I have been offline since January 26, 2026. I have left multiple messages all promising that I would be contacted within 48 hours. This DOES NOT HAPPEN. Since being offline, my electric bill has skyrocketed to 20 times the normal bill using solar. All this time, Momentum is still taking out their rental fee of over $100 each month. The signing up installation process was great, but once they have you as a customer, they do not return your calls. There is no live person to talk to. it is all through emails and "live chats". I had to trick them into calling me by pretending I was a new customer. They immediately called me. Funny! They have time to get your business, but not for customer service. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!

I have been waiting for service for over SIX WEEKS. Initially, THREE PANEL WENT DOWN, and I reported this to Momentum Solar on June 8, 2026. After waiting four weeks (29 days) without any response, I called them back, as I had not received any callbacks from the service department. In July, my system went completely dark, resulting in no solar production. Still, I did not hear anything from their service department. Below are the documented facts regarding this situation:

**6-8-26 – 10:00 AM - 10:30 PM**: Jose mentioned that he will open a case regarding the non-functional solar panels. He also stated that a team will send me a text update soon. They will be able to identify the issue since they have direct access to my panels through the app. (They no longer have phone support; the phone is not being answered.) I believe they may be having fin problems (Jose). **7-1-26 -8:10 AM**: I sent another message regarding warranty work.

**7-1-26 - 8:40 AM**: I called Enphase, the manufacturer, and they are currently performing diagnostics on the three panels. They will update me on their findings. According to Case Number **, 3 micro-inverters need to be replaced. The representative indicated that a technician would need to come out to review the wiring and order the new inverters, all of which are under warranty. He mentioned that he would contact Momentum Solar and send them an email about the issue so they can send a technician. However, he could not provide any information about Momentum's processes or warranty details, which I have. 25 year warranty for Labor and Parts according to the contract.

**7/4/26 - 9:08 AM**. My solar panels are not producing energy. I checked them and noticed that three lights were on, but the lightning bolt indicator was different from the others. I didn't touch anything because I wanted to call Enphase for further instructions. **7/5/26 - 9:28 AM**. I called Enphase and informed them that my solar system was completely offline and not producing any energy. The agent guided me through a system reset, but it didn't resolve the issue; the results remained the same. He issued a new case number: **. The Enphase representative indicated that he would forward the information to Momentum Solar, and the repair team should be getting back to me soon. **7/5/26 - 7:47 PM**. I sent an email to the Momentum Solar installation representative. See below:

On 7/6/26, at 8:23 AM, I was on hold with a chat representative named Bennett. He informed me that I would receive a call from the scheduling department regarding July 2026. He also mentioned that I would not need a case number, as I could be verified using my phone number and address. He also said they would update any information regarding my system outage as when updated emails are submitted.

7-10-26 - 400AM - from the scheduling crew: I believe that waiting six weeks for warranty work is unreasonable, especially since my system is currently down and I'm unable to produce energy in 95-degree weather. It seems that the people at Momentum DON’T CARE about their customers. They've cut off phone support and now only communicate with customers through chat, which is frustrating. I feel as though they are neglecting their customers due to the lack of service. I would not recommend this company to anyone under any circumstances. I am considering escalating this issue and involving additional parties to recover my losses and getting the system fixed myself with another company and bill them. I plan on telling as many people about my experience as I can. I plan to leave this review on as many websites as possible.

Stay way clear of this company. That I bought the system versus leasing it somehow confused them so much they could barely do the install. Momentum didn't deliver on the very long install date which meant I couldn't use the $5,000 Federal credit. They were in terrible disarray between departments and they kept ignoring the design I signed off on and pushing one I didn't want. In addition, they did not check w RI Energy Fund to learn that my home isn't eligible. THIS cost me $4,500. SO now we're at an additional $9,500 for 2024 that I had to cover out of pocket. I signed a contract on the basis that it WAS eligible and they just said, oh well. We're new in RI. Sorry. Going live took much longer than it should have. A year later (this month), no panels are producing and customer service said it would be 2-3 weeks until they could call me to make an appointment. Really. Go somewhere else.

I’ve had nothing but frustration with Momentum Solar. My system has had a service issue for over six months, so I finally called to get help. I was told it would take 10–14 days just to get a service appointment, and that someone would call me back. That timeframe has now passed, and no one has called. Reaching a live agent is extremely difficult, and when you do, there is no urgency or follow-through. It’s ironic how aggressive they were when trying to get me to sign up, but once you need support, you’re essentially ghosted. If you’re considering solar, I strongly recommend choosing another company with better customer service and accountability. I would highly discourage using Momentum Solar.

I am currently experiencing a production issue where 16 solar panels are not reporting or working, and getting support has been extremely frustrating. There is no way to contact a live person directly. Instead, you are forced into an endless loop of online chats and automated responses. When I finally did reach someone, I was told their process takes 10–14 days before a service technician will even call, let alone come out to diagnose the issue. That is completely unacceptable for an active production problem. This was by far the worst customer service experience I’ve ever had. There is no reason a company of this size cannot make or schedule a service call the same day for a system that is clearly not functioning properly. I highly recommend staying away from Momentum Solar if you value responsiveness, accountability, and reliable service. John **

I trusted the sales rep named Frederic Suravia who comes across as trustworthy but HE IS NOT! Everything he said was a lie. There is no real customer service. I have reached out to find out why my cost is so much higher than I was told. They tell me the panels are working. I know the damn things are working, I want to know why the cost was so much. No answer other than the panels are working. I should have stayed with FPL without panels and pay the budget fee of $85 instead of paying $140 with Momentum. I have more bills than money and that's why I went with them.

They said between them and FPL's grid fee, I would pay less than half of my budget rate. LIARS! They said I'm probably using more power. We are not! Unless it is their equipment that is using a lot of power. They give you 30 days to change your mind but if they don't start working for 3-4 months after installation, you can't make an informed decision. I am stuck now. All I got was a much HIGHER power bill and HOLES in my roof. I can't get an answer so what's next? They said the government pays for the panels, no charge to me. All I would pay is a small usage fee. Maybe find out which agency provides these and talk to them? Better Business Bureau? FPL? I am sick about this. I guess I was an easy target being a senior citizen. From June through August 2025 — the most critical months for building energy credits (“energy banking”) to offset winter bills — my solar system produced virtually no energy, including 0 kWh for the entire month of July. This was not due to weather or anything on my end — the system simply wasn’t functioning. Because of this, I had to buy all my electricity from Eversource at full grid rates, resulting in significant and unexpected costs.

When I reported the issue, Momentum Solar denied responsibility and refused to provide any compensation for the financial loss or the lost summer credits they highlighted as a key benefit when I purchased the system. Their lack of accountability, slow response, and unwillingness to make things right have left me regretting my decision to work with them.

To make matters worse, this is the second significant issue I’ve had with my system since having it installed in early 2024. For a purchase of this size and importance, I expected reliability, proper monitoring, and a company that would stand behind its product. Instead, I’ve been left to absorb the financial loss and frustration of repeated problems. Solar is a major investment, and customers should be able to rely on their provider to deliver on their promises. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Momentum Solar.

I rushed to the window thinking someone was in distress and when I learned that it was all about solar, the young man refused to leave my front porch and wouldn't take no for an answer. I learned he got the attention of my neighbor by using the same tactics.

When I found him at another neighbor's front door, I confronted him and told him his tactics were rude and aggressive. He didn't agree. He called his "boss" to complain about me, but I'm sure this is how this young man was trained: Do whatever you need to do to get the homeowner to open their front door. Unconscionable. People need to make some noise and stand up to this kind of behavior. Also, let's teach the new generation what "NO SOLICITING" means. Presentation and rigorous reviews of all contractual docs bore out an honest and factual endorsement properly representing the solar system and a business deal that appears both fair and reliable to the customer while reasonably profitable to the equipment and financing business partners.

The non-battery, Bluetooth and internet interface control and monitoring, parallel-linked, individually inverter-controlled solar panels appear to be the safest and simplest system, and the combined Momentum panel product and IGS financing partnership appears to be the most adept at navigating the tax subsidizing and return on investment of this renewable energy system while ensuring technical maintenance of the system. I hope to follow up with further reviews that continue to support this positive review upon installation, activation and operation of the solar power system contracted to be installed.

System 1 year old and has broken down a half dozen times. One time there was a short in a junction box and that put out half the system. Five more visits since then. A tech is coming tomorrow to repair our current dilemma.

Avoid this company at all costs—one of the worst in the industry. Here’s some crucial context about them and the solar industry: Never sign a contract with your banking information during the initial visit. Only consider it after a proper home assessment. Momentum Solar pressured my wife and me to sign a contract with a 7-day cancellation window—but here’s the catch: The 7-day period starts from your initial visit, not after the assessment. They don’t clearly disclose this unless you ask. If your roof assessment is scheduled after the 7-day period, you’re out of luck—because the contract still stands. This deceptive approach traps customers before they even get a full understanding of what they’re committing to. Avoid this company at all costs.

Alan ** came to my house and talked to me about installing solar panels for my ENTIRE house, which is very small. The contract I was to sign showed me just a drawing of the solar panels that were to be installed. The drawing appeared to be for the entire house, although panels were installed for only half the house. After seeing that panels were installed for only half the house, I reached out to Mr **, and he ASSURED me the company would be back out the next day to install the rest of the panels for the entire house. The next day the company never arrived to finish the job as PROMISED by Mr **.

At this point I reached out to Mr ** again, and had to many times before he finally took my call. After expressing my dissatisfaction with Mr ** he told me the company would come back out to finish the job but is now going to cost me more money for them to do so. This was not the original plan or contact we had agreed to. Mr ** is a LIAR and very UNTRUSTWORTHY person. I deeply regret having done business with Mr ** and Momentum, and strongly recommend not doing business with them!. Still waiting to Momentum to install panels the other half of house.

Antonino ** was very informative and very professional. He was very knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. We just recently moved into our new home and came across many other companies who tried to sell us their products with hidden contract fees. Antonio was very upfront and very honest. He genuinely wanted to help us which is really hard to find. We felt so comfortable with making a decision today. Thank you Antonino. We are so excited for our solar system.

We took this Momentum Solar company year 2019 and they installed 22 panels in our house. They said that we have 20 years warranty so we are covered for any trouble as long as not the panel itself get broken. 2024 only 5 years later the system start having problems. Now when we called this company to fix the issue they said we need to pay for the technician first before they can send someone to fix it. This momentum solar company doesn’t deserve to recommend to others because the way they treat consumers like us. We pay lot of money with this company. Now this is what we get.

I am a senior .. in my 80's.. The sales rep who presented the offer failed to explain what he had me "sign". I never actually signed anything... He filled in all the info on the contract (including my signature and initials) on his mini i-pad then pointed to a box asking me to accept. I don't think he thought I was going to log in to my computer and actually look at what at I had signed. After reviewing the contract I have serious questions. I was not adequately informed of what I was signing. Had I been aware of what the contract stated I would not have "accepted" the signature. When I talked to the rep he stated it is not their policy to explain in detail the contract. It took 45 minutes to get the contract cancelled. I was transferred and put on hold three times before I got to the right person who continued to ask why I was cancelling until he got tired of me repeating: "All I want to do is cancel the contract - just cancel the.... contract!!!!" Terrible customer service!!!

Momentum Solar is terrible. Can’t speak with a manager ever. I have asked several times and response is always the manager isn’t answering. I have had technicians at my house multiple times. No one speaks English. They can’t complete the work. They have now ruined my roof and the system is still in “error”. Complete waste of money and time. This company should not be in business.
