Worst company I have every dealt with in my life. Signed a contract in mid January of 2025 and they still have not passed inspection. The job was supposed to be done on April 27th, 2025. Nobody at the company is reachable, nobody at the company is competent. They stole my own personal conduit, broke my terracotta roof tiles, and have failed inspection a FIVE TIMES all for the same code violation. This company is so incompetent, they cannot even use a measuring tape properly to measure 36 inches.

I would love to hear their response on this platform. I have reached out to their general customer service, spoken to my Project Manager "Ransom", an escalations manager named "Maggie" and "Laura" and their Head of Escalations Martin Murray. None of these people have provided any solution. My recommendation to all people considering this company is to find someone else. This company is unresponsive, incompetent, unethical, and does not take any action to remedy their mistakes. I will update this if something changes.

The lack of communication and professionalism from this company has been horrible. We started the funding process in October 2024 and was setup for installation December 2024. It is now May 2025. Better Earth's project managers do not keep you updated or communicate honestly at all. Apparently, they didn't file the proper permits and paperwork the county and SDGE required to get things done. All this company did was have their roofing contractor come to remove tiles from our roof for the installation. Nothing else was done. The tiles were left stacked on the rooftop of our garage. We voiced our concerns on numerous occasions, but to no avail. Earlier this year in January, gusty winds caused a couple of tiles to slide off the roof and damage our outdoor heater. We advised Better Earth. Their only response was that they would pay for it. But the tiles remained.

By February of this year, we were getting even more anxious as to why the project was still delayed. We were passed on to two different project managers, Maggie and Ransom. Maggie was absolutely no help, and then ghosted us until Ransom came into the picture. Meanwhile, March 2025 we had a huge earthquake and needless to say, the tiles came crashing down, destroy our patio furniture. I had just left the patio 15 minutes earlier. We contacted Ransom who was able to get the roofing company to come clean up the mess and take pictures.

Shortly thereafter, we received an email from funding that our loan had been canceled because six months had gone by without the project starting. Ransom advised us that we need to reapply and rerun credit, which is not what we wanted to do. In addition to the lack of work and progress, Better Earth's customer service is just outright poor. Ransom then passed us off to an Escalation Manager named Martin, whom we communicated with last. We requested that the roofing company comeback to put our roof back together, compensating us for the broken tiles and damaged property, and closing our account with them. The response we got was that we somehow owed them $8500 and the only way they would reimburse us for anything was for us to continue with the project! We responded asking for them to reconsider their mistake. Otherwise, we would need to take further action. No one has responded to using any way.

This is how our experience has been with this company. Their lack of care and consideration for us as the consumer, the poor or non-existent communication is just unbelievable and unprofessional. Why would we want to continue the project with this company after all the problems they have caused? They won't even admit their mistakes. And now, they're just going to ignore our concerns unless we proceed with the project. We DO NOT recommend Better Earth to anyone, even our own worse enemies. This is just how bad the experience has been. Unless we hear from the CEO or upper management to resolve this matter, we will proceed with legal action.

We have had our solar since 2019. This year the solar stopped working in April and we did not know it until we received a $3000 bill from SCE. BEWARE!!!! They sell you on the fact that they are monitoring the system!!! No they don’t. Supposedly there was an app that we could use to monitor it ourselves however our sales person never told us about it so we didn’t know that it existed. They finally got it up and working and it is down again!!!! We have called the installation department and they gave us a 14 day window to evaluate the issue. So we will probably have another $300+ electric bill. We are not happy. Also stay away from Freedom Forever as they are the installation company!!!!

These guys ruined my roof, and I’m currently in litigation with them. They sent a group of inexperienced high school kids who had never worked on a roof before. They left a trail of shattered tiles and even caused holes that led to a leak, resulting in water damage to my son's room. They also damaged my gutters with bolts, brackets, and knots. Their 'Customer Satisfaction' Manager hasn’t responded to my last text or phone calls. When you call their Customer Support, you wait 1.5 hours to speak to someone who can’t help you, and they refer you to their Operations Manager, who never calls back. After repeated attempts, they finally respond but just send the same high school kids back to your roof. They never involve a professional roofing company to fix the damage they caused, leaving me with no option but to pursue legal action

I hate to be forced to have to leave a negative review for any company. Although after 90 days and being told they would make it right I am forced to share my negative experience with everyone. First I was promised that even though they subcontract the roofing jobs they would stand by it. Total lie because after the roofers punched holes in my ceiling with nails and leaving trash and nails all over my yard. The roofers tried to make it good by grinding the nails and patching and painting my ceiling. Sadly they painted all over my fixtures and made a mess of my house. Not to mention that the inside of my house was covered in dust.

Better Earth said, "Well that's your issue with the roofers." The sales man showed me only their internal reviews. I trusted him and never looked at Better Business Bureau until I had problems. Better Business Bureau had over 23 1 star reviews that were very similar to my experience. Only after I pointed it out to them did they start answering them all within a couple of days. My sales man was Christopher **. I was hesitant to sign up because I didn't want to deal with subcontractors. He guaranteed me that the only company I would ever deal with was Better Earth Solar.

I was assigned Nick and Martin when I started having problems with their company. They are both liars and the owner of the company CEO Zain Jan. He's on LinkedIn. They are not responsive nor do they care. Please feel free to message him CEO Zain Jan on LinkedIn if their company has wronged you. I am filing a lawsuit against them and have 36 other unsatisfied customers and am looking to file a class action suit. This won't be their first one. Look online in Florida. They had multiple people installed and no solar connection for anywhere from 4 to 8 months.
