    HYDRAVAX dietary supplement recalled

    The products may contain a diuretic not listed on the packaging label

    IQ Formulations of Sunrise, Fla., is recalling all lots of its 45-capsule bottles of HYDRAVAX.

    An analysis of a sample from one lot revealed the presence of an undeclared ingredient -- a diuretic not listed on the packaging label.

    Overdosing with a diuretic has been associated with hypoglycemia, hypochondriac, hypoglycemia, dehydration, lethargy and gastrointestinal irritation.

    No illnesses or consumer complaints have been reported to date.

    The product comes in a 45 capsule bottle and was distributed nationwide in retail stores and by mail order.

    All consumers who have purchased the recalled product are urged to return it to the place of purchase for a full refund.

    Niman Ranch Applewood Smoked Uncured Petite Ham recalled

    The packaging does not meet federal government requirements

    Mary Ann’s Specialty Foods of Webster City, Iowa, is recalling approximately 3,536 pounds of Niman Ranch Applewood Smoked Uncured Petite Ham.

    The package covered by the recall may lack the establishment number "1221W" inside the USDA mark of inspection or elsewhere on the label. Although the producing establishment number was not included, which is a regulatory requirement, the distributor information was available.

    The following products are subject to recall:

    • Various weight packages of "Niman Ranch Applewood Smoked Uncured Petite Ham," bearing the following identifying use by/ freeze by dates: "2/5/2014," "2/10/2014," "2/11/2013," and "2/13/2013."

    The products, distributed to retail stores nationwide, were produced between Oct. 23, 2013,  and Oct. 31, 2013.

    Heavenly Blue cheese recalled

    The product is potentially contaminated with Salmonella enteritidis

    Flat Creek Farm & Dairy of Swainsboro, Ga., has recalled 200 pounds of Heavenly Blue cheese.

    The product is potentially contaminated with Salmonella enteritidis, which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people and others with weakened immune systems.

    No illnesses have been reported to date.

    The company says that as of November 27, 2013, all of the purchasers have been notified and more than 90% of the product has been collected or destroyed.

    Heavenly Blue was distributed in certain parts of Alabama, Georgia and Florida via and online. The product is packed in clear plastic and ranges in sizes from 1/2 pound to whole wheels. The recall is specific to product marked with the lot code 130912XHB, which can be found on the front of the package.

    Consumers who have purchased this product are urged to return it to the place of purchase.
