Purchased a Samsung bespoke fridge and it was delivered to our home on Nov 2022. We have taken care of this fridge as it was gold since it’s expensive $2400 but it was not worth the money. July 20, 2026 we began to notice that it stopped making ice which was weird and we assumed it had to do with it freezing in the back or something. Truth we didn’t pay attention to it. We woke up on Monday July 20 2026 with EVERYTHING in the fridge had thawed out and food the fridge was all warm. It was really upsetting because I had stored quite a few oz of breast milk for my baby which all had to be dumped.

After emptying everything out and leaving it off to unfreeze I called Samsung to open my ticket for them to come and look at it. Ticket was open and I assumed everything would be okay, I was completely wrong. By Tuesday (21) I had not received an email/text with my ticket number which they said I would receive so I decided to call, good thing. In an attempt to make this very long story short Samsung had not open my ticket the first time, second time opened it incorrectly, third time attached it to another individual and after many calls the 4th time they got it right. From there the first repair person didn’t show up. I had to call AGAIN. They assigned a new tech but story didn’t tell me it would take 2 business days for them to reach out.

FINALLY they showed up (7/30) and stated that it was a sealant issue which was covered by Samsung warranty, he was able to get the top of the fridge to work and stated he would come back August 4 to FIX the fridge. It was okay to put food items in the top. My mistake was listening to him. Tech shows up August 4 I assumed to fix it only for him to tell us this is a well known issue on these fridges that Samsung is fully aware. After performing a stress test he told me I was unable to use my fridge again, 2 time I had to toss things out. Today I called Samsung (8/5). They said I have to wait more 3-5 business days.

Keep in mind that I have a baby, have to pump and dump my milk because I don’t have a safe place to store it, Samsung messed up several times in the process of opening my ticket delaying the process, first tech didn’t show up delaying the process, moved my case to a different tech without informing me it would take another 2 business days which delayed the process, second tech shows up stated he would be back to repair but when he does he says, "Never mind. It’s under warranty" delaying the process yet again.

Per Samsung I have to wait, zero ownership for their products. When vendors don’t show up they tell me to call them instead of taking ownership or they just continue to transfer over and over again. I have spend at least 5-6 hours on hold with them and yes I have screenshots to prove this. DON'T buy this fridge. It nice to look at but it doesn’t work. Also if you can get the warranty Samsung won’t backup their products. I’m posting this everywhere as I’m in my 1.5 hr hold still trying to resolve this. By the way we had also purchased a washer/dryer end of 2024 only to have the washer completely mess up in 9 months. No more Samsung for our home.

I purchased the Samsung RS27T5200SR/AA side-by-side refrigerator about five years ago, and the biggest disappointment has been the ice maker. About once a month, the ice dispenser chute freezes completely shut, making it impossible to dispense ice until I manually defrost it. In addition, about half of the ice in the bucket freezes into one solid block, making the dispenser unreliable and frustrating to use.

The attached photos show the amount of frost and ice buildup that occurs. This isn't a small amount of frost—it's enough to completely block the ice chute and interfere with normal operation. I've kept up with regular cleaning and maintenance, but the problem continues. A refrigerator at this price point should not require monthly defrosting just to keep the ice maker working.

I contacted Samsung for assistance, and while they offered to send a technician, the authorized service company wanted to charge an $80 diagnostic trip fee just to evaluate the problem. Since this appears to be a recurring product defect rather than normal wear and tear, I don't believe I should have to pay simply to have the issue diagnosed, so I declined the service call. The refrigerator itself keeps food cold, but the ongoing ice maker issues and the lack of meaningful support have been extremely disappointing. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this model to anyone who expects a reliable ice maker or dependable customer service.

Great looking is why we purchased it but it all ends there. Ice maker has been repaired 4 times in 4 years shortly after warranty expired and Samsung customer service would do nothing to honor their product despite numerous complaints for same issue. Temperature of items on door shelves do not stay cold enough. Terrible company to deal with. After agreeing to replace ice maker for no charge they said I can only have it replaced by their certified repair company based out of California, I live in Chicago so it would be sub contracted out to a company notorious for bad service. California company demanded credit card to charge minimum $200 before they would even consider sending someone out!

This is a horrible product and horrible customer service. Bought the Samsung refrigerator in 2010. New home, it would not make ice, and only 1 month old, we called Samsung; they said it was out of warranty... Lowe's replaced it, but again same issue with ice maker; called Samsung again, same response... We tried to at least get Samsung a repair kit, which they denied. Have been getting ice from our 1989 Kenmore refrigerator in our basement for 16 years! And even though I clean appropriately the Samsung in our kitchen, it is now rusting. Just an awful product, experience, and awful customer service. Shame on you, Samsung. Two family members bought this and had the same issue.

We have been fighting with Samsung to get this resolved for over a week. They definitely are not customer service focused, and they are not quick to help. Do NOT buy a Samsung refrigerator — especially the RF28R7201SR model. This refrigerator has been nothing but a nightmare. The ice maker stopped working about a year ago, the display panel malfunctioned, and now—less than 7 years after purchasing it—the entire cooling system have completely failed without warning.

The refrigerator and freezer don’t cool at all. So hard to reach Samsung customer support there recommended to do chat or watch Youtube. I asked them how to open button glasses shelf with the filter mold collected around this glasses. Anyway, I paid warranty for 5 years, but they didn’t do anything. I paid around $3000. I am a disabled person and continued to work. I did not enjoy their purchase. Please, I need to replace a new refrigerator. I am not recommending this purchase.

We just purchased our home and within 1 week of moving in our new home our Samsung refrigerator stopped working. I called Samsung to ask if the warranty was still in effect and they said it was. That was July 6th. They stated the repair person would be out today July 15th 2026 to repair the fridge. At about 2:00 pm my husband called because we still hadn't heard from the service repair man, the customer service rep stated to him that she was gonna call and see what was going on. When lo and behold a text came through that said they would not be coming today due to not receiving the parts.

So you haven't been to my home and you know what parts we need? 2. Was anyone gonna ever call us to tell us you weren't actually coming today. 3. Crazy how when we called you suddenly realized you didn't have the part. It's been almost 2 weeks without a fridge or freezer. Do you know what that equates to in buying food out. Your customer service is subpar. Your service men are also sub par. This is absolutely the worst customer service I have ever received. I have a birthday party scheduled for Saturday... What do you suggest I do? Go buy a new fridge??? Or maybe you should make a product that doesn't break down in the first year?

Updated on 08/05/2026: So the last time I wrote a review for Samsung I was only 2 weeks into the process of trying to get my refrigerator repaired and let me tell you the outcome of all of that. I ended up going the whole month of July without a refrigerator and not only that but in the end found out that my refrigerator was covered for 5 years under Samsung so really it was their responsibility to fix it in the beginning. They they did not honor that and in the end did nothing for me. Would not refund me any money for my food. Did the the company that stepped up to the plate was Lowe's and that's because that's where the refrigerator was bought.

Lowe's had no obligation to do anything but they gave me a voucher for a new refrigerator. I even contacted the the president of Samsung and even that part of the company would not do anything for me. Did not have the authority to do so so again I urge the community to do your research before you ever buy anything that Samsung.

Original review: I bought a Samsung refrigerator 2 years ago and I bought an extended warranty that came with it through Lowe's. How could I have known that just a short 2 years later my refrigerator would be broken. The entire motor, the compressor done with. This happened to me on June 30th. It's July 15th and I still don't have a refrigerator. This is been the most unprofessional, chaotic experience of my life of trying to get somebody out here to repair or replace this refrigerator. It's been an impossible process. I am beside myself. I urge you to do your research before you buy anything under Samsung's name that might need repaired in the future.

I bought a Samsung Bespoke Side-by-Side almost two years ago. It sucks that Samsung won't let me write a review on it as they really made some serious programming mistakes and I honestly doubt they tested it as well as they should have. For the most part, I'm going to describe my frustrations coming from a business analyst and programmer side of things.

First example, the auto-open sensor feature. Great option as long as it works the way you need it to. I open the frig with my right arm to grab milk and my left arm placement triggers the freezer auto-open feature. It opens every time. Why is there not a disable option??? In the programming you could have an option to select "0" seconds for the auto-open to act as a disable option. That could be a simple software update.

Second example, the ice machine. There is no need for two sizes in my world. Just use the small one. Make sure the dispenser tray has a slight slope so ice can flow to the front. I am constantly having to scrap the ice forward so that more ice can be made as the ice is made just above the back of the drawer. Along with the ice, the auto-open feature previously mentioned is causing the ice to melt just a little each time (even on a 1 second max opening time). So the quick melted ice refreezes and creates a huge glob of ice in the front of the ice tray.

Unfortunately due to another defect, one has to completely remove the tray to break up the ice because if you do it while hanging in the freezer, the drawer falls down and scatters ice everywhere on your feet and the floor. The drawer itself does not have enough shelf space to hold up the ice tray if there is any other action other than pulling it out to scoop ice. But if it is frozen with other ice, one can't do that very well. They failed to truly test for a real world usage on this one, in my opinion.

Third example, water filter replacement. I bought this unit in 2024. Why do I still have to move the refrigerator forward to turn off the water to replace the filter. In this great day and age of technology, why does it not have an internal switch or knob right next to the water filter so I can turn off the water to replace the filter without having to move the whole refrigerator. I guess they realize that by making it difficult to replace the water filter, people won't change the filter which will cause the warranties to become invalid. Someone someday will file a class action suit against you for making it difficult to replace intentionally as it negates the warranty by not replacing the filter. (I think other manufacturers that do the same will be faced with a similar situation.)

This being said, I am still going to give this a three star option because the frig is quite spacious (I got one of the larger sizes) and the app is convenient to use. I hope the Samsung appliance division gets this review so they can accept some true feedback from a consumer that feels like they got the short end of the bargain. Maybe they will put their foot where their mouth is in claiming to be the best in the business.

Samsung French Door refrigerator, Model RF28R6221, manufacture date May 2021, purchase date Jan 2022. Ice maker constantly freezes up. Worked fine for about 18 months, then started having water inlet valve in ice maker freeze - defrosted, worked ok for about another 8 months, but since has progressively gotten worse. Have had at least 6 freeze-ups in last 12 months, replaced all parts twice, defrosted each time, and this unit style appears to be identical to Samsung fridges that were part of class action suit in 2017 for the same complaint. Appears many of the current model units using the same ice maker style. DO NOT BUY any Samsung fridge that has the ice maker in the top of the refrigerator section - also this location makes it difficult to defrost it, as you have to essentially turn of the fridge part, putting all your food at risk of spoiling while you defrost the ice maker. I have stopped using the ice maker now and simply buy bagged ice.

Last week it stopped cooling, and resetting it didn’t help and resulted in the loss of food. Getting through to Samsung was an exercise in frustration but I finally spoke to a representative who concluded the compressor was broken. She put me in touch with their repair service who promptly required a $120 trip fee before they would schedule repair. (The Samsung rep that I spoke to told me the compressor was guaranteed for 10 years so the part was covered.) However their repair service informed me it would be $1300 minus the $120 already paid - mind you, the refrigerator itself cost less than $1300.

When I called Home Service Network Service (contracted by Samsung handle repairs) to discuss the exorbitant fee, I got disconnected by them 4 times while holding. I finally spoke to a representative who confirmed that despite what the manual says about the compressor being under warranty for 10 years, it was still going to cost $1300, minus $160 if unused, whatever that means. I decided to cut my losses: it would be cheaper to buy a brand new, no frills refrigerator than to get fleeced by Samsung twice. Horrible product, poor quality and poor customer service. Don’t waste your time or your money on this brand of refrigerator.

Samsung refused a "goodwill repair and their authorized repair shop wanted $190 to replace it. Since that repair service had a bad reputation I replaced the ice maker myself at a cost of $154. This refrigerator was never able to maintain recommended refrigerator and freezer temperatures, even at the lowest settings. The actual temperatures are 45 degrees and 10 degrees. (Max recommended are 38and zero). Now the temperatures are even higher and food is spoiling. Discovered that the evaporator coils are completely frozen over and as a consequence the evaporator fan cannot turn. The only fair resolution of these issues is a full refund of the purchase price! Oh, and a friend is having problems with her new Samsung clothes washer!

I ordered shelves that broke for my Samsung refrigerator. I changed my mind & I canceled that same day. The company charged me TWICE. $212.83 a total of $425.76 I contacted them and they refunded me $212.83 and since there was another charge, I disputed it with my bank. That was June 5th and then dispute for the extra charge on June 8th. It is now JUNE 23 and I received the CHARGE BACK ON MY BANK ACCOUNT for $212. 83. SAMSUNG PARTS STEALS MONEY and you can’t get Representative to call back. BUYER BEWARE- they ARE THIEVES. And their products SUCK TOO. P.S. I have an over the stove microwave and the HANDLE BROKE right after the warranty ran out… IT’S JUNK… And now I use my microwave that sits on my counter made by MAGIC CHEF. The $100 Magic Chef microwave has worked for years with no problems. SAMSUNG IS JUNK.

Samsung is nothing but Garbage!! Purchased a refrigerator/freezer 3 years ago. Doors are delaminating and look terrible. They tell me and everyone else it's faulty maintenance and you have to pay to get new ones. So I have to pay them to replace garbage with garbage. I will never buy another Samsung product again!

I have gotten the run around for 2 weeks then received a text saying they canceled my work ticket due to no one in our service area. NEVER BUY A SAMSUNG REFRIGERATOR!

I would love to rate in the negatives. 1st the ice maker stopped, then freezer started to get warm, then fridge. Took weeks for someone to come out. They supposedly fixed it. Then surprise! Broken again. It's been a month of the technician not showing up or delaying and not showing up still no resolution. DO NOT BUY SAMSUNG FRIDGE.

The refrigerator may look nice but the ice maker keeps freezing up. When you contact Samsung they pretend to want to be helpful and keep the customer happy but it is a farce. They final comment was pay to have it fixed. The refrigerator is only 4 years old. And also a little about their ovens. They do not keep the temperature. Have to keep resetting the temperature as it drops significantly for no reason. Second time purchasing Samsung. Gave them another chance. My mistake. Definitely the last.

I was pretty excited when I purchased my Samsung refrigerator. Awesome and ahead of technology at the time we puchase with the screen door etc. Few of my siblings bought the same brand. We encountered similar issues with icemaker or leaks. Here sad part my Samsung fridge had a Freon leak and unfortunately it’s 2 months past the 5 year warranty. Labor for the repair would be almost the same as getting a new fridge. And here I am looking at the 10year warranty on the door. What a joke! Has the bells and whistles but not a product that’s reliable in the long run. I will never purchase a Samsung refrigerator again! The product has more issues and it does not last!!

Samsung?! Seriously, why are you considering buying a Samsung product? Remember Yugo cars? Samsung seems to have a quality problem. I have been a fan of Samsung and was responsible for purchasing 22 products from them since 2016 with the exception of a camera purchased in the mid 2000’s. My daughter has purchased Samsungs due to my recommendation. They have a known issue with their in door icemakers that they will warranty for one year. The icemakers freeze up and require defrosting. The fix is a $130.00 service call to apply silicone and other items to seal it up. If you research you will find this “Samsung has faced multiple class-action lawsuits since 2017 regarding defective ice makers in its French-door refrigerators. While there is no definitive single total for the number of individual lawsuits, the litigation involved several major consolidated class actions and thousands of consumer complaints”.

I replaced a dishwasher that needed repair and a microwave with a broken handle held in place with a piece of plastic similar to what holds pieces together for glue together models. These were only 4 years old. I spoke with customer service multiple times about the fridge even creating a ticket for a supervisor to call me which I had to call back a couple of times to reach supervisor Trish. All I was asking for was a no charge repair. Instead, I was given the run around and ended up talking to a technical supervisor with no power to approve the repair. I asked to speak to someone who could assist and was told there is not anyone able to assist. So, again I ask, why are you considering Samsung…Possibly pricing but keep in mind their level of build quality. Other manufacturers seem to do it better.

I purchased a refrigerator from Home Depot six months ago and now my refrigerator is not working at all. I have tried calling. They have stated that my refrigerator is still under the one-year warranty. I also purchased a five year warranty with my refrigerator. However, all of my food has fall and it will be nearly a week and a half before a technician comes out to service my refrigerator to see what’s wrong with it. I will never purchase another refrigerator without understanding how this works. Now who is responsible for all of my food that has fall. Can’t get no help from customer service with an explanation.

I have a 3-yr old French Door Bespoke fridge. I have loved the look and design. But the auto fill on the interior water pitcher, suddenly, without warning, would not stop filling. Kitchen nearly flooded. We called Samsung, and nothing they could tell us would resolve the problem. The error code told us to dry off a sensor - didn’t work. We programmed it so the auto fill was on STOP. But it didn’t stop. We eventually cut off the water supply, access to which was not easy. The most frustrating thing is the fact that Samsung has no certified repair person anywhere near us - not in Buffalo, not in Jamestown. The closest certified Samsung technician is 3 hours away.

Samsung’s auto fill pitcher is a distinct design flaw, and frankly, it should have been recalled. I have finally found someone to help - not certified by Samsung - to the tune of $500. This is a THREE YEAR OLD appliance, and it should not be giving out so soon, nor should it come with such a bad design feature. Be careful. If you buy Samsung, be prepared to have no one nearby to repair it. We called nearly a dozen technicians before we finally found someone willing and able to help.

We purchased a Samsung Refrigerator, Model RF27T5201. The refrigerator worked well, until we came to clean it. We found the glass shelf above the vegetable drawer cannot be removed. One time some liquid leaked from frozen fish and gathered under the glass top and then solidified. Now there is an unpleasant layer trapped beneath the glass, which is growing mold.

When I called customer support they confirmed the glass shelf cannot be removed. There is another area of concern on the plastic vegetable drawers, where there is a small gap in the bottom of the drawer beneath the handle, where small particles of food can accumulate. There is no way to access this area to clean it. How can a refrigerator be sold with areas that cannot be accessed and cleaned? This model needs to be redesigned. What do we do now, throw it away and buy a clean one?
