Samsung should not make refrigerators. I live alone and my French door refrigerator is already broke after 3 years. The shelves are not made where the glass can be removed to clean drips and spills, which I believe is very unsanitary.

After just replacing a Samsung refrigerator with a new one, ice machine won't work. I assumed the other fridge, even though only 3 years old, was not working due to some rare issue. Fast forward to 2 and a half years into our new fridge. Which we paid over three thousand dollars for, we're having issues. Won't make ice. Attempting to troubleshoot with Samsung was a nightmare. I will never again buy another Samsung product!

I HOPE someone reads this before they have the same horrible experience that I have had. I have a Model # RF27T5201SG/AA Fridge and the month after the warranty expired the ice maker went out. I get it things break but the call center is in the DR. Dominican Republic not the greatest of English as you can imagine for starters. Now this is the third time I have had to schedule a tech for the same issue and the third time I have had to take off because in Samsung infinite wisdom you do not know your time window until the day of the appointment. While I work in the engineering world this is insane if I told a client you will not know until that morning what time they would call someone else. I am not at that benefit I have to deal with a Samsung Tech.

For the third time now the tech is over an hour late and I still haven't heard from anyone. I called the call center again and it went as horrible as you can imagine with a third world call center trying to deal with someone in the USA. This is the WORST service I have ever had and the LAST Time a Samsung appliance will be in my home. I understand cheap call center but this is an absolute failure and now for my fourth time not a first time so it is consistently a failure. If I ever hear someone casually say they are looking at a Samsung appliance I will tell them to buy ANYTHING but that. I would give ZERO stars if I could but you have to pick one and that is by designed from Samsung. They knew that they would get negative reviews if they gave someone the option. Just like my situation.

Updated on 09/09/2024: I purchased a brand-new Samsung fridge, which was delivered on June 12th. By July 30th, the cooling system had already failed, and it took Samsung until August 6th to send a technician, leaving me with hundreds of dollars’ worth of spoiled food during that six-day wait. To make matters worse, the fix didn’t even last two weeks. The fridge broke down again on August 18th, and it took Samsung another eight days to get a technician out, only for them to declare the fridge defective and in need of a replacement or refund.

Since August 26th, my husband and I have been stuck in a ridiculous back-and-forth with customer service, trying to get a refund for a fridge that cost us over $3,000, plus an additional $600-$800 in spoiled food (not to mention the money wasted eating out because we can’t store fresh food at home). Despite all this, Samsung continues to drag their feet, ignoring our requests for updates and prolonging this absurd situation. How on earth is it taking more than two weeks to process a refund for a fridge that was clearly defective from the start? Their own technician confirmed it’s unfixable due to multiple leaks, and yet here we are, still fighting to get our money back. And when we ask about compensation for all the perishable goods we lost, we get the runaround from customer service, with no clear answers.

My husband calls for updates every other day, and now customer service either hangs up on him or refuses to speak while he can hear them whispering in the background, treating us like we’re fools. Samsung is blatantly avoiding responsibility, dragging this out, and completely disregarding the inconvenience and hardship we’ve faced from being without a functioning fridge for nearly a month and a half. This is beyond unacceptable.

Original Review: I recently purchased a Samsung fridge, and it has been nothing but trouble. The unit has already broken down twice, with both the fridge and freezer failing to cool properly. This has resulted in hundreds of dollars worth of spoiled food, which is beyond frustrating. To make matters worse, Samsung's customer service is terrible. They lack any sense of urgency or concern, leaving me without a functioning fridge for days on end. Each time I’ve called, I've been met with unhelpful representatives and slow responses, making the whole experience even more frustrating. I regret choosing this product and brand, and I strongly advise others to think twice before purchasing a Samsung fridge. The inconvenience, financial loss, and poor customer service make this an absolutely terrible choice.

I would advise anyone that is thinking about a Samsung product. Do not buy it. They have low standards for their repair shops. That will make the problem worse and will not stand behind their work. They use unprofessional companies that have no clue how to repair the appliance then they try to charge you after they created another issue. Do not buy Samsung. You've been warned!

Don't buy Samsung refrigerators **** They stop working just right after the warranty ends. I have a 3 door refrigerator that I bought from Costco in March 2022. So in August 2024 it suddenly stopped cooling. Just when the 2 year warranty ended. Cost to come and diagnose was $140. Even if the issue is with sealed systems which was covered under warranty. You don't expect modern refrigerators to break down on you in just under 3 years. Worst craftsmanship, cheap parts and costly afterservice.

The first time you got the field service onsite to repair is taken almost 7 weeks, and nothing change.

The Samsung RF32CG is just not work. And Samsung still told us nothing wrong, and all the food in Frozen cabinet turns bad. I called the reputable store where we purchased the fridge and because we did not purchase an extended warranty they gave us the name of two repair companies that do out-of-warranty work on Samsung. Both places no longer service Samsung. While waiting for a service call the fridge stopped working altogether.

A service person came and looked at the fridge and told me the compressor was gone, however, it should be covered by warranty. It is. However, the Samsung customer service agent informed me I had to use their service people. I called the service company and they wanted $200 for the initial call to confirm what we already know and then $800 for the new compressor. This is unbelievable! I’m on my 2nd ice maker and still having problems with entire fridge. 1). It’s making ice but water is dripping causing the ice to chunk up and not dispense. 2). Also water is accumulating under the big pantry tray and freezing (don’t know where it’s coming from). 3). The drinking water comes out cold sometimes, other times it’s room temp. 4). I’ve lost food because the temp controls said one thing only to discover all my food had thawed and ruin.

I’ve been in the online chat with reps for hours troubleshooting. They had me adjust temp settings, unplug to reset (I flip the breaker-fridge too heavy to move). That worked for the freezer but I’m afraid to fully stock it, can’t risk losing that much food again (I only have about 7 items there now). The rep also invited me to upgrade to a newer model (why?!!). When I purchased this fridge, I bought this in good faith. Never expected to deal with so many issues. Based on some of the reviews, I’m not the only (unfortunate) one.

I think Samsung should stick to making TVs and other electronics and not refrigerators. I had purchased the RFG298AA because of the dual ice maker and twin cooling system. It wasn't too many years later that water started showing up inside under the deli/pantry drawer. After tearing the back apart inside, I saw a rusted out tray that was meant to catch moisture and divert to a bottom outside tray where it should evaporate from the fan. My fix lasted another 5 years and now it is so bad that water is pouring out the door into the floor. Other Samsung owners have had that same problem.

Also, the ice maker below in the freezer is poorly designed. When you open the freezer and the tray is filled, it pushes ice cubes out the back of the tray and they fall behind the drawer to sit there forever. It is nearly impossible to reach behind the drawer to retrieve them. Lid for the deli/pantry drawer has broken at the hinges. Pantry drawer is also cracked. Quite a few quality issues.

I purchased a Samsung Flex door refrigerator thinking that the ingenuity of the design and cost would make it a quality product. Unfortunately this is not the case as I have had problems with the ice maker starting in year three. Maybe I just did not notice before that. The water works sporadically. It’s like a game. Am I going to get water this time or not. Also have had water under crisper drawers, water under flex deli forth drawer and consistent temps. When it says 36 on outside controls, put temp measure inside and said 47! I am amazed by all the complaints and self fix videos online and this company has not been made accountable. It is hard enough on consumers to buy quality products and when no one is making them responsible for their products it is just plain frustrating.

Then in Aug. 2021, the ice maker just quit, and it was replaced. Thankfully, we purchased the five-year extended warranty, and these two services were covered. BUT, then in July, 2023, the not quite two-year-old ice maker, quit and now, we have an 8-year-old refrigerator, out of warranty and the ice maker is still not working properly. Either the ice maker just stops making ice, or the ice melts and I have to keep mopping up water that drips onto the interior door shelves.

Today, it was nearly a full inch. We have tried fixing this ourselves; we shut off the water, then a month later, turn it back on. It works for a while, and then we go through the whole routine again. For the time being, we have ice, but the question is, for how long? This was not a cheap appliance and we are so frustrated that we are looking at replacing an 8-year-old appliance, that should have lasted at least twice as long. Oh, and it will NOT be a Samsung. They should stick to Smart TV's and leave the appliances to the professionals.

The freezer drawer Is weak and easily breaks. The track on the drawers is cheap and plastic. For a refrigerator that was almost five thousand dollars, It is clearly junk. The only positive is it looks pretty when it's brand new. Once you plug it in you will start to deal with one negative after another.

We're out of warranty so I called a repair affiliated tech from Samsung. First I paid labor. Problem still reoccurred. Second labor again same problem again occur. I told samsung you gave me a broken and unrepairable fridge. Then they forced me to change the compressor when the tech said that is not a problem. The cost of the labor for changing the compressor almost 700$ I believed almost same price pf the compressor and I need to buy valve, dryer and even written in the report not guarantee if it will fix. What's the point of wasting money and you're not giving me assurance? How many times would I will call service for this fridge. I chose this fridge thou it's pricey because of the quality. That's what I thought but No. Frustration and disAppointing. No TO SAMsUnG AGaIn.

Original Review: I didn't expect this fridge that we purchased a year ago appeared this kind of problem. Fridge was Hi end. Cost me almost 4000$ and all of the sudden for no reason, no error or code display on the monitor. When I called Samsung they said I no have warranty anymore so they told me to call the Samsung service center and they suspected that it's the board and some other parts and would cost me almost 1000$. I would accept if this fridge is really overused that I've been overusing for over 3-5yrs but No. It's only 1yr and 8months. Barely used because most likely in a day weren't at home. I don't think it's really fair for me to pay that much cost without me knowing what's wrong. It's just system suddenly shuts down.

This is the worst refrigerator I’ve ever had! The picture that fills inside the refrigerator constantly leaks. I’ve had it replaced and it still leaks. To remove the shelf where the vegetable drawers are located is almost impossible. When you’re trying to clean it, the clips break almost every time. The vegetable drawers also have an inherent flaw, where moisture and debris gets inside of the handles where the drawers are. And to clean them, you have to forcefully take them apart and hope you don’t break them in the process. The Samsung how to’s are garbage, as is their customer service. I had to use YouTube in order to figure out how to “take apart” the refrigerator in order to clean it.

I bought a Samsung Showcase 28 Cu. Ft French Door refrigerator in 2019. With the warranty I paid over $3000 for this fridge. Now, the freezer has stopped working. I paid for one of their service technicians to come out and diagnose the issue. He said the issue is due to a Freon leak and he does not know where exactly the leak is coming from. He would have to tear down the entire fridge to find the leak. This would cost up to a thousand dollars to fix and there was no guarantee that it would even be fixed. This cost is non-refundable.

I called Samsung customer service and they were of no use. The fridge has a 5 year warranty for a Freon/gas leak and the freezer broke just 2 months after the warranty ended. Are you telling me that Samsung could not honor this??? This is totally unacceptable. I did not budget for a new fridge at this time as I expected this current fridge would have lasted for several more years. IT WAS NOT CHEAP!!! If you are considering buying this fridge, please don't. I have no idea where I am going to get the money to buy a new fridge. The rest of the fridge is in very good condition.

It was probably a failed due to the symptoms it manifested. The repair would be almost $500.00 if this were the case.

I purchased another refrigerator and Samsung refused to acknowledge 7 1/2 years was too short a time for fridge to fail. We have the 4-door smart refrigerator. Anyone who purchases this refrigerator should be fluent in the Urdu language. If not fluent, be adept at understanding heavily accented English. Secondly, read very carefully the “lemon clause” in the manufacturer warranty. There are abundant design flaws and quality of construction issues with this refrigerator. Let’s start with the fact that it takes four hands (trust me) to get ice into a cup. You will need to put your cup down then use both hands the open the fridge, pull the drawer, retrieve the scoop and retrieve the ice. Then you need to get the ice into the cup and later pick up the cubes that fell on the floor. No big deal, right? The icemaker is prone to leaks and will turn the ice bin into a frozen block of ice. To get ice, you’ll need to take a time machine to 1965 and buy an ice pick. After repeated service calls for the same problem, you will be eligible for a full refund or replacement, but you need to ASK for it.

The ventilation air intake and fan are located at the very bottom of the unit, and it collects enough floor debris over time to suffocate the refrigerator's cooling capacity. Who knew? Simply placing the intake higher up the rear of the unit would've prevented the failure of our $800+ unit. And, of course, just after the combined manufacturer and additional 2-year seller's warranty period expired. Now it's time for a $1000 replacement. Samsung French Door Model RF28R7201SR/AA Refrigerator Review. First I would like to say that we had several Samsung refrigerator/freezer before. We liked the old unit because we liked several features including:

    1) The ice and water maker on the door
    2) The large fruit and veggie drawers Which I would like even bigger
    3) The sandwich drawer (the separators are unnecessary)
    4) The large top shelf
    5) The size of the door shelves were big and fit my foods perfectly
    6) The freezer had a small basket in the freezer door for small freezer things

    7) The freezers 3 compartment including drawer

There were two big problems with that refrigerator: The first one was problems with the ice cube maker. It would freeze over and not work. We replaced several parts several times, but the problems continued. The 2nd problem was the fridge and freezer would freeze up with ice and overflow ater on the floor constantly We defrosted the entire thing painstakingly taking apart the whole freezer and syphoning out the water and using blow dryers. The problem continued but got more frequent until the entire refrigerator stopped cooling enough to use. So, we were not anxious to get another Samsung refrigerator. But, the place we bought it from said that Samsung fixed both problems and if I liked the previous features, which I did then the new version of the same refrigerator would make us very happy.
    __________________________________________________________________________________

We bought the Model RF28R7201SR/AA. I have complaints and I have never felt a need to voice my complaints before, but Samsung really messed up certain things about the new one.

    1) The icemaker is SLOW and the ice is SMALL(Always crushed) and the water shoots out of my water glasses so badly that I had to change to a different type of water glass
    2) The water tray on the dispenser has no top tray and there is not one to purchase. Water is constantly leaking and running down the front of the fridge. We get hard water marks quickly and BADLY which looks terrible
    3) The Ice maker takes away a lot of door space which causes the left door’s top 2 shelves to be almost useless
    4) The adjustable shelves do not allow for a large top shelf or a tall top shelf which makes it impossible to put a tall bottle there. The left top shelf hasn’t broken yet, but bends down and looks unstable
5)The Freezer does not have the small shelf that attaches to the door that was very handy for small things not to get lost in the bigger part of the freezer

    6) Lastly the top of the refrigerator is not flat so things fall into it, which is annoying.

I have had this refrigerator for over 6 months now, and still find these qualities so bad that I’m writing to you to get this off my chest and in hopes that you may have cured some of these problems. I E- If anyone knows of new a water tray, now have a small basket for the freezer drawer, have a new ice dispenser that can be put in…, etc. This is the last Samsung appliance we will buy after being a loyal customer for 25 years.

    First Payment Withdrawn: March 3

This review meticulously outlines the significant issues encountered in the replacement process for a defective Samsung refrigerator, emphasizing the inefficacies within Samsung’s customer service framework and the financial inconveniences imposed on the customer due to the organization's administrative shortcomings.

    Service and Process Failings:

Miscommunication and Lack of Follow-through: A clear commitment was made for a replacement delivery by February 14. Confirmatory discussions on February 13 with customer service led to reassurances of the replacement's dispatch. These assurances were invalidated the following day when the refrigerator did not arrive. Further inquiry revealed a concerning lack of internal documentation or adherence to established follow-up protocols by the representatives.

Inadequate Resolution Efforts: Subsequent engagements with Samsung’s service representatives have consistently resulted in promises of escalation without any tangible progress. Notably, an interaction preceding the expected delivery involved direct verification with the shipping company, yet failed to culminate in the delivery of the refrigerator. Promises of an emailed summary of the discussions remained unfulfilled.

Financial Imprecations: Ahead of the resolution of the replacement issue, notification of the impending start of the payment plan was received, leading to proactive communication with the financing company to halt payments until delivery. Despite these efforts, the first installment was withdrawn on March 3, highlighting a disconnection between Samsung’s customer service assurances and its financial operations, particularly given the absence of the product from the customer’s premises.

Engagement with the BBB: The situation's escalation to the Better Business Bureau has initiated an investigation, underscoring the severity of the customer service failings and the need for an external review to prompt a resolution. However, as of this writing, the investigation remains ongoing, with no definitive resolution provided to the customer.

    Professional Reflections:

The series of interactions with Samsung’s customer service representatives, characterized by confirmed assurances yet unmet delivery and resolution commitments, raises critical concerns regarding the effectiveness of Samsung’s customer engagement and resolution protocols. The automated and non-committal responses from the financing arm further exacerbate the situation, emphasizing a need for a more integrated and responsive approach to customer service and financial management within the company.

    Conclusion:

The ordeal experienced in attempting to secure a replacement for a defective refrigerator, compounded by premature financial obligations for an undelivered product, paints a concerning picture of Samsung’s customer service operations. This review calls attention to the necessity for systemic improvements within Samsung, aimed at enhancing transparency, accountability, and efficiency in customer service delivery. The involvement of the BBB underscores the critical nature of the issues at hand, advocating for a swift and customer-centric resolution to this protracted saga.

Samsung offered to replace my refrigerator and it’s been over two weeks and I’m still waiting. Call Samsung about five times and still they have no answer for me. This is frustrating and I’m struggling because all my food went bad, and also and also now I have to be buying food because my fridge doesn’t work. Today I called and spoke to customer service expecting to get an answer. The only thing I got is that they’ll get back to me when they figure out what date I’m supposed to be receiving my new fridge. I am trying to make everyone aware of the Samsung problems with the refrigerator. In less than 2 months I had no cooling in the freezer or refrigerator areas. When I called for repair they made me go thru checking to see if the doors and drawers were shut, check lights to make sure it was getting electricity, turn off the breaker, wait 5 minutes, turn back on the breaker, reset temperatures, then if in SIX HOURS I still had a problem call the number that was texted to me. That number was out of order. I had to start all over with the trouble call. I finally got a ticket number, and someone would call me with a date for repair. They called and advised that it would be a week and a half before a repairman could be sent. I told them that was not satisfactory, but accepted the situation.

When the "repairman" showed up he had a camera and NO PARTS. He would order the parts and I should have a repairman with parts back in 3 to 10 days. Samsung did call to advise that my appointment would be a week and a half away. When I complained that was totally unacceptable, they cancelled my repair ticket and I had to start all over again. I still do not have a repair date.

Said compressor. After going back and forth with samsung about being under warranty I got them to agree that they were reponsible for repair. Tech came out a week later worked half hour and left. Never got cold. Called Samsung back, said they would send tech out and have to pay another 140.

I have the original receipt, sent pictures of decals and Samsung now saying I'm not entitled to a partial refund if I got rid of the fridge. I set the fridge on the curb because I had to get a new one. One whole month no refrigerator for my family. Now they say the fridge needs to be in my possession or I'm not entitled to anything. I recently made the regrettable decision to purchase a Samsung refrigerator, and it has been nothing short of a nightmare. The primary culprit behind my dissatisfaction is the ice maker, which seems to have a mind of its own always frozen and never works. This was the main reason I bought it to, have an ice dispenser. From day one, the ice maker has been nothing but trouble and only worked for a few weeks. The worst part is that the refrigerator inside somehow has water and ice making their way under the drawer, turning what should be a convenient feature into a constant source of frustration. The water under the drawer has become a breeding ground for mold, and no matter how many times I clean it, the problem persists. It's as if the engineers at Samsung forgot to test their product in a real-life setting, leaving me to deal with the consequences of their oversight.

The customer service experience has been equally disappointing. When I reached out for assistance with the ice maker issues, I was met with indifference and vague promises of a technician visit. Weeks later, the problems persist, and I'm stuck with a malfunctioning refrigerator that has become an eyesore in my kitchen. Save yourself the headache and steer clear of Samsung refrigerators. It's clear that quality control is not a priority for this company, and their lackluster customer support only adds insult to injury. I regret my purchase and would strongly advise anyone considering a Samsung refrigerator to think twice before making the same mistake I did.

We tried to make a claim and went through all the proper channels, but we couldn't get Samsung to respond, until finally after much effort we were able to talk with the support team. The support team then didn't return our calls after repeated attempts, we got a reference number and they supposedly were checking into the problem. They again, didn't get back to us even after that.

We finally made a reference number request on texting and were responded with: "We're are sorry after checking, your claim on spoiled food isn't valid and isn't covered under the warranty." This is after we had to request someone contact us. They were not forthcoming into the possible reason this was not handled by the warranty! Why even have a warranty if a claim isn't valid? The Samsung support group is the worst we've had to deal with, they never get back to you and it's always someone else's problem. We even had a issue with our Water Pitcher as it was leaking. We just wanted it replaced and again, no one was there to help.

We bought a new Samsung refrigerator in 2022, the BeSpoke 4 model. Within 18 months the ice machine stopped working, soon after the freezer stopped holding temp, then finally the main fridge compartment stopped holding temp. Our repairman tells us that they make these units with a fundamental flaw built inside. Refrigerant slowly leaks out over time at a connection point where copper meets aluminum, this connection joint is something that cannot be welded, so they use some form of bondant which deteriorates over time - usually after the product is out of warranty. Repairman says there is no permanent solution to fixing it and that it will need to continue to be repaired for the life that we own this fridge. Samsung should stick with building cell phones!!! We purchased a side-by-side French drawer Samsung refrigerator several years ago. It developed icemaker problems in 2023 along with a flashing panel and moisture and water puddles on the floor under it. Items in the refrigerator portion are freezing solid while items in the freezer are soft and not frozen solid. We heard about the icemaker class action lawsuit and contacted Samsung and were promised that Samsung would come to our home and repair free of charge. This was in May 2023. They have yet to ever show up. I have contacted them 12 times and 12 service tickets have been created. But each time they cancel the service ticket and call me and tell me they don’t have service available, I am 45 miles away from the service center and I have a Lowe's in town that is also a Samsung retailer.

After the sixth time they promised to repair the icemaker but also the flashing panel and correct the fact that the refrigerator freezes food and the freezer does not get cold enough. However, it should be noted that in my most recent conversation with them, they have gone back on their word, and stated that they will only fix the icemaker. Confronted with the fact that no service will come to my home, they then respond by telling me that I need to find my own service and pay for the bill. This is absolutely ridiculous and horrible customer service in light of the fact that they have already promised to repair it. Each time they promised me that this time they will send out service and it will work. But after completing the 12 ticket just today and then being told that there is no service available again, they obviously never intend to keep their word.

It is my opinion that they are manipulating this to avoid having to spend the money. They insulted us with an offer of a 50% off coupon which only would apply to the inflated regular price of items on their website. It should be noted that most items on their website are on sale for 20 to 30 to 40% off already but the coupon doesn’t work on those prices. It only works the original high price. I am not interested in spending any money to bring any more of this junk into my home. I have decided to file complaints with the FTC and BBB and begin writing reviews. We are reasonable people who take care of our items and we are being done wrong by Samsung. They fabricate stories and make commitments that they do not keep. They make promises and go back on them. Their appliances are junk, only worthy of the shredder. They have already lost a large segment of their customer base and are sinking like the Titanic. Their reputation is now as horrible as their products.

I am on my way to Lowe’s to purchase an American made refrigerator and I would never ever ever purchase anything made by Samsung or any of its affiliates. It should be noted that we have also purchased a washer, dryer, dishwasher, range, over the range microwave and television made by Samsung, none of which lived out their usable forecasted life. All of them failed under normal use within 4 years of purchase. It is interesting that the general electric refrigerator that my grandfather bought from Western Auto in 1975 is still humming along in the basement. That’s 49 years running perfectly, non stop. Again avoid the hassle. Avoid Samsung. DON’T BUY SAMSUNG!

The contract crew delivered and refrigerator, plugged it in and connected the water but did not set up the “smart” portion of the refrigerator. I subsequently set it up, and immediately experienced problems with internet connectivity. I have 500 mb service and the router is 12 feet from the refrigerator. So, bandwidth was not the problem. The refrigerator would maintain connectivity from a few hours to a couple of days.

I called Samsung technical and software support numerous times to resolve the issue without resolution. Then, I sent an email to the Samsung CEO's office outlining the issue. Between May 2023 and September 2023, contract technicians visited my home and swapped out the display and the “main board.” The problem still persisted. On September 19, 2023, I sent another email to the CEO's office outlining the problem and requesting that the refrigerator be replaced before the warranty expired. I received a response from “Gloria” at Samsung Care requesting proof of purchase. I provided evidence of my purchase from the Samsung website.

On October 4, I wrote “Gloria” requesting an update. There was no response. On October 12 I again wrote “Gloria” requesting an update. Again there was no response. On October 19, I again wrote the Samsung CEO's office, and I got crickets. It is evident to me that Samsung has no plan to do anything about my problem. Has anyone else had this problem?

I need to share my ongoing ordeal with the Samsung RF263BEAESG French Door Refrigerator I purchased in 2019. At first glance, the sleek design and fingerprint-resistant finish caught my attention. But over the past few years, it's been one headache after another. The core of my issue lies with the sealed system repair ports. They were improperly left open after a repair, and despite numerous service requests and countless hours on the phone, my fridge is STILL not fixed. To add insult to injury, I've had service tickets created and then inexplicably canceled over and over again.

What's even more frustrating is that despite the refrigerator having a clear 5-year warranty (it's only been four years, by the way), Samsung is now inaccurately claiming that my warranty has expired. Has anyone else faced this warranty denial issue? To get a clearer picture of the malfunction, I even had to consult third-party technicians due to inconsistent diagnoses from Samsung's team. And every time, the result was the same: it's an open port issue, nothing to do with the "infestation problem" one Samsung tech tried to claim. I'm at my wit's end and am hoping some of you may have advice or similar experiences to share. How did you handle it? Any suggestions on the best way forward? I used to trust Samsung, but this experience has truly tested that trust. Thanks in advance for any insights or recommendations.

He called today and stated he would not repair it but would diagnose the problem again and order the part needed. So here we are 10 days and no refrigerator and all our food and frozen food ruined. My advice is don’t buy Samsung.

My Samsung refrigerator Rf28hmedbsr/aa model was purchased about 7 years ago and over the last 2 yrs, I have had to force defrost it at least 12 times. I have had to throw away a lot of food over that time. Initially, I had called a technician who charged $500 and essentially just defrosted the coils and the fan and said that Samsung makes a terrible product and fixing this would cost over $1500. I am now so frustrated about this issue and no help (not in warranty) that I will just replace it. It made sense to send this a review so others would know the longevity of this type of a Samsung fridge

The Samsung refrigerators look nice but don't be fooled. We have had nothing but trouble with the ice maker since we purchased it for $2,800 a little over four years ago. Now we're told by Samsung that the ice maker is not repairable. They are offering a small refund but that doesn't help. We remodeled our kitchen and built a space for that specific refrigerator in matte black. Impossible to find a replacement and I would never buy another Samsung. Their customer service is frustrating in that the reps answering phone speak very poor English. I've made dozens of calls and had repair technicians in my home multiple times. Bottom line - poor quality product combined with poor customer service.

Samsung connected us with a 3rd grade repair shop who came and took 137$ and said only Samsung can help to fix the issue. From that point Samsung took hands off approach and just kept saying it is out of warranty and was not able to provide any support besides Google searching who in our area can. Literally they left customer hang dry. It will be very difficult for me to buy any Samsung product going forward. They literally cancelled the ticket without solving the problem. We bought a Samsung flex 4 door less than 2 years ago. It is out of service. There is water under the crispers, which is a very common problem, and samsung has never attempted to fix the problem. Try contacting samsung. You cannot. When you call the customer service number you get a call center in the Philippines, they take 20 minutes just to enter the information, wait it gets worse. They send your repair request to a third party vendor, you wait for them to contact you, worse when they do contact you they actually ask for a $200.00 deposit up front on the phone, just to come to the home to figure out what is wrong. If you decline to pay an up front fee they cancel. We called a repair service on our own, no upfront fee, and the service call was $79.00 deducted from the repair. Read the reviews before you buy a samsung refrigerator, it's terrible, and customer service is worse!!!

We got a Samsung French door refrigerator with the ice maker in the door about two years ago. After 5 to 6 months of ownership, the ice maker started freezing up. We would thaw it out and it would just refreeze within a month. This went on for months, Samsung customer service was no help. We ended up keeping the ice bucket out, as that seemed to help with the freezing up.

The bracket in the back is not supposed to move unless it is connected to the auger in the ice bucket. A few nights ago, in the middle of the night. I noticed the fridge was being a bit louder than normal. Figured it was working harder to keep everything cool in the 106 degree heat, so I thought nothing of it. My son went to get a late-night snack and as soon as he opened the door, he immediately commented on the funny smell coming from the fridge. Melting plastic and electrical has a very distinctive smell.

The doors had been keeping the smell and smoke inside the fridge, which prevented any fire alarms from triggering. I checked and smoke was coming from the back wall behind the auger bracket. I had cleaned the ice out hours earlier, so there was nothing in there. If the door was opened, the ice maker would stop and so would the smoke. Closing the door, the auger bracket would kick right on and smoke would start pouring out and you could hear popping coming from the ice maker. I tried to shut off the ice maker at the door control panel but it did not respond. The only way it would stop was to get the side wall panel off and disconnect the wire harness for the ice maker.

My fridge reeks of melted plastic and electrical now. I contacted Samsung customer support. Explained the situation to the rep, and provided pictures. The rep asked me to take video of the smoke coming out. I refused to knowingly allow my refrigerator that is in my home with my family to start on fire again for a video!

After I refused to allow the refrigerator to start on fire again, the rep informed me he would escalate the call to a "dedicated team" and I should hear back "within 24 hours". That was four days ago. I have not heard anything from Samsung's "dedicated team". I have since tried twice to contact them today over the issue and each time their online support does not respond. Their text message for help feature does not even work.

Since this incident with the fire, I have found that the ice maker issue is a known issue, that has had class action lawsuits over it. I have spoken with two others that also had fires start in their ice makers, both of which are getting the same "support" as I am. I'm furious over this! Had my son not gone for a late night snack, their product could have started my home on fire, leading to major property damage, injuries and I hate to think about it but possible death too. Samsung is NOT taking it seriously and just blowing it off. They got their money and thats all they care about!

I purchased a Samsung refrigerator through the Home Depot on 6/5/18. We began having problems with the refrigerator less than 2 years into our ownership when the ice maker began collecting ice along the side of the unit, jamming the unit from operating and being able to get ice out of the machine. Water was also regularly leaking out of the ice maker and into the ice chute and into the refrigerator. We realized a month or so ago that the temperature in the refrigerator wasn't cold enough after seeing food items we had in the refrigerator spoil quickly. I put a thermometer in the refrigerator and saw that it was only cooling to 55 degrees, even though the setting was for 36 degrees. I contacted Samsung after explained my dissatisfaction with the product and with spending $2,119.99 for a product that began giving me issues in a couple years and was now not unusable in a short 5 years.

The representative said they would send out a Samsung repair person, but that only the parts for the repair would be covered and that I would have to pay for the labor. The Samsung technician came to the house 7/24/23 and told me that the body of the unit was cracked and that it could not be replaced. He said that the only option for me was to buy a new refrigerator at my expense. Despite not repairing anything, the technician charged me $229.24 for the visit (receipt attached). So in addition of the $2,119 I paid for a defective refrigerator that started malfunctioning within 3 years, I was charged $229 for a "repair" visit that didn't repair anything.

I wrote to Samsung's CEO office and received a response that they would not be doing anything to rectify the situation. So I spent over $2,300 for a refrigerator that started giving me problems within 3 years and became unusable in a little over 5 years. The evaporator motor that failed had a warranty of 5 years (planned obsolescence?). I don't know what's worse, the quality of the product or the refusal by the company to make good on it. I do know that after buying this refrigerator and three prior televisions from Samsung, I will never buy another Samsung product.

Set up a repair appointment with a NJ shop whose reviews are awful. Tech came and replaced the board and fan and said icemaker required a new ticket. Days later the fridge was roaring like a jet engine. Called Samsung and replied about sending someone back right away.

Same tech came 10 days later without icemaker parts and said unit needed more parts. He never called back with an estimate. Called customer service and they defended the tech's defective work, but offered $500 toward a new unit. I declined the offer because if the new fridge was defective, I would be at Samsung's mercy. Turned around and purchased a Bespoke unit at Costco with a 5 year warranty. At least if there's an issue, I won't have to call India and hear more scripted lies.

Purchased a Samsung refrigerator with ice maker/water dispenser in the door on 5/20/18 for $2500+. In the 5 years since then, we have had the ice maker replaced 4 times and scheduled a 5th. The first 3 replacements were done “no charge” (beyond inconvenience) by the excellent service department of Yale Appliances, though each replacement failed after about 10-12 months. When we requested the 4th repair we were told that due to issues with that specific product, Samsung would be responsible for any further service. Their personnel did replacement #4.

When it failed again 10 months later, we researched the product and brand and discovered pending lawsuits in Canada regarding the ice maker repair issue and a few situations where Samsung provided credit to replace/ buy back that model. In fact, after providing the history to Samsung service (India?), they offered to transfer me to that department to learn about the program.

When I spoke with them (somewhere else in India), they stated that any service provided by Yale (even though all Samsung factory trained techs, and they were a major Samsung retailer/distributor) would not count, therefore with only one repair in 5 years, I did not qualify for the program. No further discussion. We made the decision to go with another Brand’s product, (again at Yale) which we purchased today. Somewhat related, this leaves me with the 3 water filter cartridges in their original Samsung packaging at about $40 each - bought through their subscription service. Samsung will not accept product returns beyond 30 days. I hope to give them away to prevent someone else having to buy from Samsung.

By November of 2015 the refrigerator started to have issues making popping noise and then came the ice buildup on the twin cooling system. I contacted Samsung and informed them of my issue. The lady on the phone had me do some troubleshooting then said your refrigerator is out of warranty and if you like a technician to go and check the refrigerator you will have to pay out of pocket. I went to Home Depot and explained my situation the salesperson said oh but you bought the extended warranty.

I then call the company which they came out I paid 350 dollars to have them replace the thermostat and the back cover. Within 6 months the refrigerator went out again with the same issue. In 2017 the ice maker goes out. I called Samsung and explained the problem. I was again told you are out of warranty. I then had to paid to get the ice maker fix. After several times of me calling Samsung and the repair company coming out to defrost the unit I contact Samsung 2019 and requested that Samsung fix the ice maker with a long term solution.

In 2020 Samsung finally agreed to replace the ice maker but the issue was never resolved. Like clockwork the problem continue where the refrigerator read a internal temperature of 37 but inside was 60 because of all the ice buildup. I will then contact Samsung. They will send out the technician to defrost the unit and with 6 to 8 months I will go through the same process. On May 2023 I contacted Samsung as the refrigerator had stopped working cooling and making ice. I was referred to a technician. I paid 300 plus dollars to get the refrigerator fix. Within 1 week the refrigerator broke again. I then contacted Samsung and explained to them that I was frustrated and that they needed to have a better system and a long term solution or at least to acknowledge that this is a ongoing issue for this refrigerator model refrigerator.

All the ice buildup on the twin cooling system was so bad that the plastic cracked. When I contacted Samsung and requested a solution I was told the seal system had a 5 year warranty, you are out of warranty and plus the refrigerator had never been diagnosed with not repairable therefore Samsung wasn’t able to do anything. I then contacted the technician company they when out and declared the refrigerator non repairable. I then contacted Samsung and they offered a courtesy prorated of 250.00 dollar buyout for my refrigerator which I declined. After years of paying for repair and replacing food every 6 to 8 months I felt like Samsung was taking advantage of me by now this refrigerator is 8 year old refrigerator had cost me more than 5,000 dollars and Samsung refused to take responsibility and acknowledged how bad this refrigerator was built Samsung solution to my ordeal is “you are out of warranty."

I’ve had my Samsung French Door refrigerator model# RF28HMEDBSR/AA for a little over 5 years. After 2 years the ice machine froze up and now I have to defrost it every two weeks or so. Because the ice reservoir is in the fresh food compartment which is above freezing temps it accelerates the freezing of the ice maker due to moisture getting the the ice maker. Another reason is poor design. The only adjustment you can make is on the right hand door and the ice maker is on the left hand side. The sealing gasket for the ice shoot will become worn and not seal properly, therefore allowing moisture from the air to seep into the ice machine causing it to ice up. Who puts and ice maker and reservoir in the fresh food section and not the freezer!??

The only solution that works for me is turn off the ice maker from the left door control panel, get two or three coffee mugs, fill them with water, put them in the microwave and heat to boiling and put them on the ice maker for about 1/2 hour or until the ice is all melted. The ice reservoir must be removed before this procedure and a heavy rag or oven mitt could be used to stuff it in the opening of the ice maker so you can close the door while defrosting the inside of the ice maker. This procedure may need to be repeated several times on order to completely defrost the ice maker. After defrosting is completed. Replace to bucket, and turn on the ice maker from the left door control panel.

I have to manually defrost the evaporator coils in the refrigerator section because of the inefficiency of the heater coils in the defrost system every couple of years, again because of poor design. Their Samsung refrigerators are nice to look at but are very poorly designed and an absolute nightmare to work on. I’ll never buy another Samsung appliance! All that glitters is not gold!!

That is presumably caused by a leak, which is frankly shocking for a unit barely 6 years old. This will cost us several thousand dollars to repair and will span over several weeks, which will put as at a very prolonged period of inconvenience.

I have spoken to maybe 7-9 reps - they leave SMS messages and voicemails - but when you reply you never get them but yet other rep and you start from ground zero. I was told maybe 11 different stories from those 7 or so reps - all insisting their story and promises were the right ones. I heard about a refund for the cost of the unit, compensation for ruined food, reimbursement for the diagnostic service call. No refund.

They now refuse to pay for the diagnostics because it isn't part of parts and labor. Seriously. When someone comes to fix my AC or furnace or hot tub - there is a diagnostic visit and if you go with them to fix it the fee is counted towards the repair. Samsung thinks I pay to diagnose when their product fails under warranty. Was promised spoiled food compensation from 4 reps. Finally get one ready to deal with it and she says just give us a list. I send the list, the next rep says - oh it can't be typed. It must be handwritten. Well I just took the handwritten notes from folks who lived there and typed it up all nice and organized (anyone who knows me knows my handwriting looks like hieroglyphics on a good day). Then she says a $200 limit.

Neither of these conditions had I heard from the previous reps. So I had my oldest kid take my typed list and hand write it. So over 5 weeks, I am out 90 bucks for a diagnostic visit for something under warranty. Out $ for food spoilage. Out $ for take out food since there was no refrigeration for 5 weeks. Adults living in a house with some special dietary needs with no fridge for 5 weeks. A Google quickly found a great November 2022 article in USA Today. We were a Samsung family for phones, washer/dryers, TVs, fridges, etc. NO MORE. I have spent over 20 hours on the phone and SMS with them and they are tone deaf and now I understand why - they know they are on the verge of another class action lawsuit and are unapologetic.

The title says it all. Worst customer service and policies. Won't fix the broken ice maker (still in warranty) because there's dent on their flimsy stainless steel which is totally unrelated. OMG and how rude. Because of small dent all warranty is voided. So because the dent is so easy to make (just by touching the door) they now won't warranty any issues you may have with this cheap fridge. DON'T BUY SAMSUNG if you want to save yourself some anxiety. Oh ya! The stove we bought to match had to have the circuit board changed several times and issues still persist. I give up. I think that’s what Samsung ultimately wants.

We started having problems 2 years after the purchase, then customer service tried to fix it, 4 times until they decided it is not worth helping us anymore. Our Samsung refrigerator was pricey. It is a French door with a bottom freezer and it is a beautiful-looking refrigerator. Unfortunately, there are a few things Substandard. The drawer in the freezer is cheap plastic, the track and wheels are plastic and the drawer is constantly falling off the track. Next, You must close the left door side first, the seal is frequently misaligned and will miss if you forget and close them both simultaneously. The water dispenser has no light. This makes it difficult to fill a narrow water bottle.

A better-quality freezer drawer and a light on the water dispenser would have made this a perfect refrigerator for us. Unfortunately, I anticipate the drawer in the freezer will eventually break as was the display model in the store. I can't imagine why they wouldn't have added a light to the water dispenser, even the cheap models had a light. If I were to do this over again I would probably buy a different model. Other than that it appears to be a beautiful-looking refrigerator.

He said he would be back the following week with parts to make the repair but never showed up at the appointed time. I called the service center and was told Samsung wasn't going to repair the fridge/freezer. Over two weeks without a freezer...I called Samsung and they are a nightmare to deal with. They refuse to repair it and claim they don't have parts and that I can get a voucher to replace it (i.e., I can get a partial amount to put towards buying a brand-new appliance and this one can get thrown in a landfill).

This is unacceptable. I understand there are lawsuits against Samsung as they should be. They are not honoring the warranty, they are behaving in a criminally negligent manner. If they can't repair they need to come and get this and replace it with a new one, but they want to screw the consumer. In fact, they've hung up on us 3x now after waiting on hold for 10+ minutes. Coincidence? We had a repairman out who tells us that it has a system leak and that the coils on the back aren't frozen. What does this mean? That the freezer can't be used and the fridge is 11 degrees warmer than it should be. He said it is fading and will eventually die, but can't fix it. First year was fine, 2nd start freezing all my vegetables, so contact the company and they send someone to service. He said, "Your temperature was wrong. Has to be at 37 to 36." I had it at 37. I wait few months and continue doing the same thing. I call again. The first number I call was no longer in service. I searched and they couldn't find my first time complaint about this issue. They want me to pay.

I'm been reading a lot. They said you can't put a lot in your refrigerator. This is my advice Don't buy, because this means you are only allowed to have like 10 items for your refrigerator not to freeze your food. Now I have to call my warranty and see if they can send someone. I'm so upsetting. My old refrigerator was not Samsung, I had it for 20 years. I regret giving it away. Check the reviews before you buy a Samsung refrigerator. Everything you buy in Samsung Electronics works only for 2 years.

I purchased a Samsung refrigerator, 7/2021, it has never worked properly. It is a bad refrigerator. Samsung will not exchange or refund my money. I have called numerous times and I get the run around. The refrigerator is a side by side with water dispenser, a water pitcher. Neither has worked properly. They will send a service person and it is fixed and will break again. It was repo on 7/22/22 and broke 7/23/22. When I call Samsung, they will send someone but it never lasts long. A new refrigerator should not be doing this. Samsung customer service is a joke. I received a call from Samsung on 7/23-22 and was told that they would take care of this and would send me info and they did not. I called back and was told they could not help me. I feel like I have been robbed.

I am using a refrigerator from Samsung with a 5 year warranty. Last 8 days my refrigerator is not working and I have been calling the service centre daily with no response at all. Leaves me a choice to throw Samsung junk and buy a new refrigerator. Use LG. They sent someone for my LG refrigerator and fixed it in 3 hours.

I purchased a Samsung fridge four years ago and I’ve had to have the icemaker replaced or repaired four times in that period of time. I was able to bully Samsung to replace or repair twice at their expense but I have finally given up as I know they will not replace or repair again. They make a very poor product and they do not stand behind it.

I purchased several Samsung appliances in July 2015. At the time, I thought that I had made a good decision. Shockingly, within one and half years, the stove/range went out. I had to purchase a new stove - a different brand, of course. Next, our Samsung washer and dryer went out after only two and half years of use. My home warranty company came to the rescue. Then our Samsung dishwasher also went out after only three years of use. I had to replace that too with a more reliable brand. Finally, today, our Samsung refrigerator has also died, after only six and half years of use. The repairman said it would cost me $1800.00 to fix it. I had to go and pay for a new refrigerator - a more reliable brand. Essentially, all the Samsung appliances that I purchased only a few years ago are now pieces of junk. I regret buying Samsung appliances and will never make that mistake again.

From the first day, I had a problem with the ice maker. I called several times and finally after 5-6 months the technician came and fix it by changing the whole group. After a few months start having the same problem, making noise, not producing ice, etc... I called again, but already was more than 12 months and they want to charge for the service. I didn't accept it and I bought another brand, but not Samsung anymore.

I have had my Samsung French door refrigerator for 5 years, 2 months. Up until now, it was great. But, the freezer stopped working & the Samsung authorized repair people came twice to fix it (needed new compressor). After 2 attempts, which totaled over 7 hours, they deemed it unrepairable. Samsung wouldn't provide any accommodation as it's (barely) over 5 years old. If you're looking to make a big investment for a fridge that lasts 5 years, good for you. But if you want something more durable, don't buy Samsung.

Samsung French Door fridge. This fridge is a lemon. It has failed 3 times, freezes everything. Samsung refuses replace the product after 4 fails even though after the last time it failed they said they would. I would never recommend a Samsung product to anyone.

We bought a fridge from Samsung to get it delivered to a new construction home. It changed the delivery date in July to May. The house won't be built by then. I tried various ways to change the delivery date or cancel it, but could not connect to any responsible customer service agent, for this job which is easy to change in the current times. Finally after multiple days, we could cancel the order through XPO Logistics (Glad to get connected to a human, at least). Now XPO would not provide me a reference number for the order cancelation.

On the other hand, since we opted for payment through Affirm, now they say that the order is complete and we should start the payment. I mean, what the heck!!! We canceled the order because of Samsung's stupid customer service, and now we are supposed to make the payment. We disputed the payment on Affirm, but now it approaches us to ask for evidence as if we are the culprit in this whole saga. Basically, Samsung can treat its customers badly and then just has no moral responsibility for the mess it creates. Getting rid of this issue has been like running myself into the wall. Except for Affirm asking us for payment, no other service has even cared to talk to us or reach out to us to understand why we can't get a delivery earlier. Because the goddamn house is still being constructed. I wish I had not gone through the Samsung - XPO - Affirm cycle of frustration.

Don't get their refrigerator even if it is free. Gave trouble in the first year. Water leaked the first year. We had an extended warranty but it was a waste of time as they have trouble showing up. When they do it is a nightmare getting a part. They use a hair dryer to defrost the panel. Our panel freezes and the food spoils. The pandemic made it worse to buy a new fridge. Stay away. The company is aware of their manufacturing defects but doesn't support their product. They should not sell products in this country if they don't want their products to last and they sell junk.

Ordered from Samsung.com. Bespoke French 4 Door. Middle panel arrived damaged. Customer service is a nightmare. I have called multiple numbers, texts, chats and cannot get Samsung to replace the panel that arrived damaged. I’m now told I’m outside the 15 day return period. I’m on day 17 including weekends & a holiday. I did not want to return it, it is a huge refrigerator. I only wanted the damaged panel replaced. After 6 hours of getting run around by many customer service personnel I’ve decided to put the same 6 hrs into making my experience well known so others can be warned.

Samsung and LG are not designed to be reliable. They're not designed to last. They do not maintain safe temperatures and can cause flooding in your house, fires and unsafe food storage temperatures. There is a group on Facebook dedicated to how terrible Samsung refrigerators are. So far, they have been able to get $10m in refunds and that number is going up every day. It all starts with the ice maker freezing up, then the panel behind the fridge will freeze and the fans stop working and then everything gets worse from there. There is no fixing these devices. They are ALL defective. Look at Bosch, Maytag or Thermador if you want something reliable.

Ice maker freezes up, and does not hold temperature. There is no actual fix for the design flaws. Samsung will not help or acknowledge their known design issues. Steer clear of all Samsung appliances.
