LG Refrigerators Reviews

Constant problems and repairs. Good grief, don’t buy one, and if it comes with your home purchase, then understand you will have to replace it. I have nearly spent as much trying to repair it as it would cost to get a new one.

I have this LG refrigerator for less than 5 years, and it broke down. The freezer and refrigerator are not cooling. There was a class action for LG refrigerators that the compressor is the issue. I would never buy LG brand either ref, washer or dryer.

I have has 2 terrible, expensive experiences with LG refrigerators. The first one I bought, a 2017 model, bought it new. The compressor died within 7 years, they admitted they had a bad run on compressors. I went without a refrigerator for over 2 weeks & lost contents in fridge & freezer. After admitting they knew about the issue they replaced the compressor & fought me tooth & nail about reimbursing $ for lost food. My 2nd bad experience, not my fault. I bought a home which already had an LG fridge, a 1 year newer model. Same issue. This time I’m getting nothing & don’t feel like fighting, just buying a new fridge. It won’t be an LG, EVER AGAIN. Bottom line, stay away from LG refrigerators.

Somehow LG managed to make a fridge shelf have multiple failure points, I would like to personally fight the person who came up with this idea because this is beyond incompetence, this is malice to save a couple pennies instead of making a good product. You saved pennies on the shelf but I will never buy another lg product in my life, I will research every company associated with them & delete them from my existence.

I purchased an LG top-of-the-line refrigerator in November 2016. The compressor went out 4 years ago later. Costly loss of food! New compressor was installed but lasted maybe another four years. Another costly loss and waste of food. These LG refrigerators are no good. They are very expensive and they look really flashy, you’re wasting your time upfront by purchasing one to begin with, waiting for repairman to come out and fix it, and the loss of food. Buy something else.

I bought two LG refrigerators in 2022. One of them is on its way to the dump right now; even though it's still under warranty, it went warm. They sent a service guy out after four days. He said it had a Freon leak, and they cannot fix it. There is no compensation in any way for a Freon leak. I'm out $2500. The other LG I bought, the compressor fan went out. It's a little cheesy plastic thing made in China. LG might be looking good, but it's a joke as far as reliability goes. Also, the icemaker is very small and almost useless, and it gets stuck every time I use it. I will never buy any LG products again. Their TV really pisses me off too; the top half of the screen is all commercials that I didn't buy what I want to find a channel. I have to search every time because they scramble it. I'm going back to American products if I can find one.

The LG refrigerator is the worst I have ever owned. The ice maker stopped working after 2 years. We replaced the motor for the ice maker. The new motor lasted three months. The refrigerator itself just broke after four years. Not the type of performance you expect from a $4,000 investment.

Bought an LG group of appliances completing the set within a couple of years. So far each appliance has died soon after the warranty is up. The condenser went on the refrigerator 1 year and 6 months in. Dishwasher died 2 years in. Now the stove top burner has died and it is 1 year 8 months old. All of which were the premium models. Truly the worst appliances ever!!! Do not throw your money away on LG appliances. All that is left is the microwave.. Waiting for that to go now.

I’ve had this LG French door refrigerator with two bottom freezer drawers for 4-5 years. Have had to replace the ice maker, Door hinge, and unclog a drain. Total cost labor and parts right at $900.00. Stay away this is terrible fridge. I’ll never buy a LG appliance. Waste of money and time.

The compressor failed twice within months of having it replaced by an LG TECH (first in April 2026, again in September). I purchased the fridge in 2021. LG refuses to reimburse me for the food that spoiled. Worst company and product ever.

Bought an LG refrigerator freezer combo and it died within 5 years. Avoid this company at all cost.

4 weeks buying a new refrigerator the door has come off. I called Best Buy. They said I to talk to LG. I called LG to just exchange it. They said they will send me the parts to fix it. I WILL NEVER encourage anyone to buy LG. I was changing all the kitchen appliances to LG but with this experience, I used GE refrigerator for 10yrs is still running. I just need something new but....LG forget it. I will give ZERO star of I v to.

Our condenser went out under warranty and LG has left us without a refrigerator for 5 days now stating they are trying to locate a technician who is employed by them. I have provided them with a technician that does warranty work for LG and we are getting the run around.

Our 2022 LG refrigerator had a catastrophic system failure after just 4 years of operation. Compressor failure and electrical problems. Repairs under the limited warranty would have taken more than 3 weeks and cost hundreds of dollars. We junked it and bought a Whirlpool.

LG refrigerator are shit, the compressor went again after 6 months of replacing it, and they charged me 458.00 of labor again. If you are planning in buying a LG refrigerator, do not waste your money.

My LG failed after 3 years. I spent 4 weeks trying to get it looked at or replaced. Found out that every service place I contacted will not touch an LG because they're pieces of crap and repair parts are horrible. LG won't do anything until I pay for repairs, then send in a receipt. Problem is, no one will touch an LG. Gotta throw it away and go American. "DO NOT BUY AN LG."

Bought LG refrigerator model LRDCS2603S 7-2021. Compressor stopped working 2-2025 and was replaced under warranty but took 3 weeks (no refrigerator). Now 9-2026 compressor failed again, LG says will cover compressor but not labor. I researched some on google and found out LG has many complaints regarding this issue and class action lawsuit for same. I purchased a GE refrigerator and will junk the LG. I also had issues with LG washer / dryer and now a 75" TV is acting up. I replace LG appliances with Speed queen washer and dryer (much better quality) TV is still under warranty but I will give to son after repair and purchase Sony or Samsung. I guess LG products are NOT very good.

Purchased an lg microwave from Best Buy. l asked them about service and was told that if service was needed within the one year period to bring it back and they would have it fixed. Ten months later the magnetron quit working. Called best buy and was told to call Geek squad. I called them and was told to call LG. I called them and was told to leave a message. A week later I received a message stating that there was no one in my area to repair it. No other information as to how I might get this repair. I messaged then several other times, however got no reply from them. I will never purchase from Best Buy again, or from lg.

We have an LG side by side refrigerator. It’s 3 years old and has gone through 3 compressors! When the repair man came, he was like, "Oh yeah. LG. I’m always replacing these compressors." And he said, "This is not your second compressor. This is your third!" I still had to pay another $365 plus his service call of 95. I would never recommend this product line to anyone! Our freezer is starting to act up again and I have no intention of coming home to water on the floor and spoiled food again! We have the cheapest Frigidaire in our basement which is 21 years old- never had a problem! Imagine the LG has WiFi and all these bells and whistles but they build crappy compressors which keep the food cold! On another note, my appliance repair guy told me to never buy LG washers or dryers because it can take up to three weeks to get parts sometimes!

Bought LG fridge in 2020, unit fail big sandy could not get repair done correctly, with help of big sandy purchase new unit 2021, now in 2026 this unit fails, cannot get service by anyone to service unit. LG customer care is horrible!!! I would not every spend money with lg, I would not. You cannot get to any people the understand customer what or how to help!!!!

Warning: LG knows their Refrigerator Has Defective Ice Systems but will not repair. If you are considering an LG refrigerator, be aware that many models — including mine (LRMVC2306D/02) — have documented defects in both the freezer ice maker and the Craft Ice maker. My unit has the F1E fan error and a failing Craft Ice system, both covered under LG’s own defect bulletins. LG knows these KRK‑batch units are faulty.

LG Refrigerators are the worst. Me bought my refrigerator in November of 2016. The water tube that goes to the top ice maker broke and was leaking. They had to replace the whole door in 2017, 2021 compressor went out but was covered on the recall. 2025 the water valve broke and now my compressor went out again. Called Lg. Had to call multiple times because they gave me the run around that I needed to call a service center. Called the service center and they stated that they need an electronic service ticket. Called back to LG. They argued with me stating they didn't. Finally someone in LG stated that it would cost $300 with parts to fix the compressor to have a service guy out to fix it. There is only 2 in southern Ohio to work on LG Refrigerator. If there was a negative star, I would put that. The worst service I have had.

I bought my first LG kitchen in the late 1990's. It was a dishwasher, microwave, and a side by side refrigerator with ice and water dispenser in the freezer door. These Items did last nearly 15 years with only the microwave needing to be replaced after several years and the refrigerator failing right as I was selling the house in 2014 and flooding the kitchen and living room while the house was on the market. The icemaker ruptured even with the temps turned down to low as it wasn't really being and it was custom fitted to the vented cabinet it was in for most of its life. That's not a really life span considering the use these appliances got.

My name is Angela. I bought a knock fridge in 2021 for 3699. Fine I think I'm buying something so good. They're known for their names. Get a warranty. Buy from Lowe's, get a extended warranty. 2 years break the door. Not a big deal. They fix it. Great job. Then it hit the two condensers, and compressor go bad. That's like the whole fridge. They replace it after a month. Finally I can get food again. 3 weeks later again same thing. Come out a week later. Fixes it. Breaks the fridge more. And still warm. And now this company will not help me but to keep trying to fix a broken fridge that is now 5000 dollars. Stay clear away from their stuff if you know what is best. They tell you stories. You will be in a big mistake. Oh and their repair man that fixes it even tell you their fridge is not worth it.

I had LG Refrigerator LRMVC2306S for 4.5 years. In this 4.5 year replaced Fan after 1st year, ice maker after 2 and after 3 years, after 4.5 compressor died (CH E). Tried to schedule appointment for next day online with success, but next day received message they can come out in a week to check for problem plus have to wait 3-5 day for parts.

This is the WORST refrigerator I have ever owned. Sure, it's pretty, but that doesn't mean much when it needs to be repaired every 3-6 months. Only buy this refrigerator if you enjoy having water all over the place, food spoiling and spending time on repairs. I would not recommend this refrigerator to my worst enemy. Purchased 3 years ago, and have had issues since almost day one. We paid nearly $4000.00 and I expected MUCH more. I at least expected it to work. LG does nothing to remedy the problem. Today, we are going out to buy a new refrigerator and it will not be LG.

Bought LG refrigerator. After 5 years compressor went out. Lg replaced- 6 years later went out again. Lg says not their problem. Out of warranty. You sell a faulty compressor that is garbage and have been sued over it. You know this but choose to screw the customer. If you can’t make a compressor that last longer 5 or 6 years you shouldn’t be in the business.

Do not buy LG products! To say their customer service is bad is being kind. Three calls for service on a washer (cold water setting does not work) and all I get are YouTube videos and advice on checking everything but the control board. Lines are not switched, cold water line is not clogged at the machine (needed help moving the washer/dryer tower). Unit is 4 months old.

Well after a year compressor went out. Then 2 years later icemaker quit working like all POS Chinese made crap. Some billionaire is making it well in life. But at least it’s cheap. Around $1500. Never buy this brand. It’s horrible.

I bought an LG LFCS22520S in 2023. The refrigerator has been nothing but problems since the beginning. I called the company to complain that it was extremely loud. They indicated there was nothing they could do about that. Pieces of plastic have broken off on the inside of the fridge. Normal wear and tear is one thing but this is just really poor design and inexpensive plastic. I paid quite a bit of money for this refrigerator. 3 years in the freezer motor quit. Now another $400 later, I will never buy another LG product. Customer service was very unhelpful. Sorry I bought it.

WOW! All the reviews are the same! Bought my LG fridge from Costco, $4,000 4 years ago. Went out 3 weeks ago and still no fridge. LG considers the purchase an out of box with no warranty. We have called the service department at least 10 times. Yes, their call center is in Korea, they are very scripted. They say what you want to hear. Sad to see they work hard for very little. This large company taking advantage of them. Our unit is making ice and cold water, but the freezer and fridge is not cool enough, at this point I will need to purchase a new one. I will not buy at Costco ever again. They were no help. Any suggestion would be much appreciated. If I could click on a - 10 stars I would.

Our new LG refrigerator/freezer stopped working 2 days after installation. After more than 2 hours on the phone "troubleshooting" service under the warranty was scheduled for more than a week later.

Family of six here living without a refrigerator because it has taken a month and a half just to get a technician out. Said technician says need to order part and leaves. That was last week. Today I get a call from LG stating that the ticket has been open for a long time and do I really want to fix the unit? My wife has been offered a few times to skip the fix and come to another arrangement. It is under warranty. I have never waited months to have an appliance fixed. Refrigerators used to run much longer than five years before needing major repairs. Something is very wrong here.

Have been waiting for a call back from LG Customer Service - and I use those words loosely - all day. This expensive 3 years old french door refrigerator of ours was just repaired in March after we awoke to a watery mess on our kitchen flooring. After waiting nearly a week for a repairman to finally arrive, we had to pay $400+ (despite a warranty covering parts and labor) for a new upper icemaker fan. Today, we awoke to another flood on the flooring and both upper and lower icemakers and the freezer no longer functioning. After spending most of the day cleaning the floor and transporting freezer contents to various kind neighbors, we sit and wait for LG to contact us. I miss the Kenmore fridges I bought at Sears which always lasted, without repairs, until we sold the house. I will never buy anything made by LG.

LG might make a good refrigerator but you couldn’t prove it by my experience. I have owned very many refrigerators in my lifetime and cannot remember ever having a bad experience with any of them regardless of brand. 5 years ago when we had our kitchen remolded, we bought the high end French door with 2 freezers and 2 icemakers. At first, no problems. Then after a couple of years (note it was now off warranty) I could not replace the water filter and successfully perform a water filter reset and the filter leaks into the refrigerator portion. I have been on the phone with Lg tech support and performed all the actions they suggested to include unplugging and leaving it unplugged for several minutes so the refrigerator could reset. Nope! I am very disappointed with this refrigerator and am seriously considering buying a new refrigerator manufactured by anyone else!

Purchased a LG refrigerator from Lowes and had it installed 7/23/26. Having problems with the filter water switch sticking when it is in the "on" position and pumping water all over our floor. LG is dragging their feet in sending out a repairman....They want me to try and fix their defective parts.

I had a brand NEW LG refrigerator delivered on July 14, 2026. It stopped working a half hour later. The freezer fans stopped working. I have spent a month back and forth with LG and keep getting the runaround. The Part is always on Backorder, they give me a date for delivery in a few days, then it doesn't come in and they give me a new date etc. I am now asking for my money back or a replacement, and when I call they request documentation, which I send. Three times now I have sent what they ask for they say I need to call again and they will refer it for review.

My 4 year old LG refrigerator stopped working. I called numerous people to fix it despite having an extended warranty plan with Sears/Cinch…. No one was able to come out and fix it until I called several places. FINALLY an Lg tech guy came out today and replaced 2 fans. 20 hrs. Later the refrigerator part is not cool enough. The lower ice machine is not producing ice. I paid $322.90 for this service because my warranty company couldn’t find someone to come fix this problem. To say the least, I’m extremely disappointed either way LG and Sears/Cinch warranty companies. Now I have to call the tech Back to let him know the problem. I would not recommend an LG product. They are inferior.

Recently acquired a LG Thin Line French Door Refrigerator. It came with the house we bought. All went well until the Freezer Fan failed. Called LG for service and was told they didn't service our area. We finally found someone to service problem and new LG part failed again. Called LG 3 times to get service and was finally told there was "no way they could help us". We were on our own. This doesn't sound horrible but I spent hours on the phone with people I could hardly understand or even hear in the loud boiler room they were working in. Finally I asked "Can you help me yes or no"? The answer was "no". Fair warning to all!!! If you want a company that sells you an appliance but won't service it and sells faulty parts, then buy LG. If you want Quality, Service, and integrity stay away from LG. Peter on Sanibel

Don't waste your hard earned money on an LG French door refrigerator with in-door water & ice maker. $500.00 for a defrost heater repair after 3 yrs. on a new unit.
