Biggest complaint is that the ice make is always clogged and will not dispense ice without opening the unit and breaking the ice clump up. The water dispenser pressure is so hard it splashes water everywhere. One of the freezer lights went out after a couple of years. The drawer assembly is such that you cannot clean them completely without taking them apart. On the positive side the re refrigerator and freezer do a good job of keeping things cold / frozen.

I’ve owned the LG French door refrigerator for just over one year . A rattling sound is coming from the refrigerator when you open the door the sound stops.. The icemaker is no longer making ice.. I called the LG team. They sent a service repair team to look at the refrigerator and fix it.. I got the service, waited 24 hours after getting the service to see how the fridge was doing. The refrigerator is still not making ice. The only issue I had was the refrigerator not making ice. After the service repair person was done fixing the icemaker the icemaker was still not working. The fridge stopped freezing, and the fridge stopped cooling.

The only issue I had initially was the icemaker, but whatever the service person did to the refrigerator it stopped working altogether. I have been calling LG with the complaint. The only answer I keep getting is that they contacted the service person and he is going to repair it. Weeks have passed and no one is calling me with an appointment or showing up to fix what he did not fix and to tell me why and what he did that my entire refrigerator is not working anymore.

I purchased an LG four-door French door refrigerator in September 2024, and it performed well until mid-March 2026, when I discovered that the upper right door gasket had begun tearing from the bottom upward. Although the one-year factory warranty expired less than six months ago, I contacted LG to request a goodwill repair or replacement at no cost, given the relatively recent expiration and my history as a repeat customer. I regularly purchase complete LG kitchen appliance packages for my investment properties, and as recently as two months ago, I purchased an LG washer for my home.

After speaking with several representatives and requesting a goodwill accommodation, I was informed that the repair would cost a flat $399. The only concession offered was a $30 discount, which I declined. I am disappointed that a critical component, such as the rubber door seal, appears to be of such low quality that it failed in under 18 months. Equally concerning is LG’s apparent willingness to forgo a long-term customer relationship rather than stand behind what I believe to be a defective part. I had been planning to replace my 20-year-old Whirlpool dryer with an LG model and to consider another LG kitchen package for an upcoming investment property. However, this experience has caused me to reconsider those plans. Appliance shoppers, take note!

If I could give LG a zero I would. We bought our French door fridge in Jan 2020. Last summer (2025) the compressor failed. Took over 1.5 months and 3 repairs to get it fixed with their $450 fee. 6 months later fridge failed again. Took 2 weeks to get another appt to wait yet another week. Apparently they only guarantee their repairs for 90 days and want us to pay another $450 (with tax) AGAIN. Tech no showed, no call today (LG tech no less) which we took off work for. Finally get ahold of the tech and he says interesting. "Someone" rescheduled the appt until next Monday for which we are not available. Called LG and they tell us the tech rescheduled. Didn't bother to call or consult us at all. Here we sit without a fridge again in less than 7 months. Going in over 3 weeks this time. Called customer service and they don't care. Do NOT buy an LG Fridge. They have known of their design flaw with the linear compressors and yet still sell junk fridges.

LG refrigerator - would give this product zero stars if could. Like many many others, my two brand new fridges (both LG) suddenly stopped working after 4 yrs. I notice a class action lawsuit had been filed - with a submission date of October 2024 (it is now February 2026), so I am unable to hope on that bandwagon! I have lost over $1000 worth of meat/dairy etc. and spent $600 having one fridge's computer board replaced. The second fridge was taken to the dump!

Nearly $4000 on two fridges, plus $1000 food waste plus $600 repair that didn't work. Now I have to purchase 2 replacement fridges. LG's solution? Pay an additional $499 plus tax for a one time repair that includes parts and labour! After reading additional post repair reviews - I will not be doing this - I will use this money instead to purchase a NON-LG fridge. Save yourself the frustration and extra costs and bug anything other than an LG!!!

Had to open doors and windows. It is now the end of February and it still don't run. But they want me to pay them when it's still under warranty. I don't think so. They can come get it. I had to put it outside. Done with LG. I went and bought a new one that actually works and is not LG. And this is not the first time I have had trouble. It's French door. Very disappointed. Under warranty. Now they are calling me wanting me to pay them 400+. I don't think so.

What a shoddy, faulty product. Companies like LG with their cheap and shiny crap and a dedication to outsourcing manufacturing is poster child for what is ailing the USA.

I bought a LG French door refrigerator and was so excited about it, love the design and look. However, the first problem started almost immediately by freezing food in the long crisper drawer. It then began making a horrible humming/grinding noise every few days. I called LG and was told to watch a YouTube video and reset the refrigerator and to wrap food I put in the crisper. Ridiculous!! A brand new refrigerator??

I have since spoken to LG at least 7 times where they promise to send a service tech to check the problem within 48 hours but I have yet to see anyone and this has been going on for 6 weeks. Meanwhile water bottles freeze in the crisper drawer and the humming/grinding noise is getting worse!! The refrigerator settings are the recommended settings. It’s obvious that LG does not stand behind their product. I’m so disappointed, I waited a long time for a new French door refrigerator and saved up for it. Do not buy a LG refrigerator, if you have a problem they will not stand behind their product.

I bought my LG expecting it to be a great product, but it became a nightmare in my house. After five years it started to cause major problems. The compressors went down then the ice-maker started leaking the motherboard, and it’s like one thing after the other. I never expected a refrigerator for this price points for it not to last more than five years. I feel LG should be buying everyone a new refrigerator. They knew that this refrigerator was a lemon when they put it on the floor for it to go out to homes. No one is in the business of buying one refrigerator after another. And now that I’m out looking for a new refrigerator I guaranteed you. It won’t be an LG never again.

I bought an LG LMXC23746S Refrigerator in December 2015 for about $3,200 from Home Depot. I liked this model because it has the center drawer and my neighbor have bought the same model a few weeks prior. About 3 years later it stopped getting cold. I called LG and found out they had a recall on their "sealed" compressor and it likely needed to be replaced. BTW, my neighbor had the same problem a couple months later with his. Anyway, we contacted LG and complained about our problem and they sent out a repair guy to replace the compressor. They said the compressor had a ten year warranty. They also sent us a check to cover all the spoiled food we had lost. It seemed like they were standing behind their product.

Fast forward to today. We had a repair guy out to see why the fridge isn't getting cold, again. We're told that the compressor is bad and needs replacing. So I call LG and am told, "We're sorry but the refrigerator is out of warranty". I replied that I had purchased it exactly 10 years in 2 months ago, and that the compressor had been replaced less than 8 years ago. They said again, "the refrigerator is out of warranty and there is nothing we can do". That's not standing behind your product in my mind. The estimate to replace the compressor is between $800 and $1,000. My recommendation, do not buy a refrigerator from LG.

I purchased a full kitchen suite (fridge, dishwasher, range and microwave) six years ago. I have had the range replaced (extended warranty) a year ago when it didn’t work for Thanksgiving, Christmas or New Year) and it’s currently not working, since Thanksgiving, today is 1/19/26. The refrigerator has been replaced twice, once under warranty and once with extended warranty. The dishwasher was replaced 6 months ago and I refused to get another LG. So when it comes to dependability, LG HAS NONE. If you gave me a set today, I would sell them and take the money to buy something that might work.

We bought a LG French door refrigerator 5 years ago. The compressor died shortly before Thanksgiving this year. A tech came out through their "LG flat rate" service for repair. He diagnosed a bad a compressor and replaced it with a new one. It lasted 3-4 weeks before it stopped working. Here we are, the day before Christmas Eve, scrambling to save all the food in our fridge. We chatted with an LG representative, who said it was against company policy to give a supervisor's name and phone number, after all she could offer was sending another tech out to diagnose the problem. LG refused to reimburse the cost of the defective compressor they recently installed, insisting all they could do was send a new tech out. LG does not care about their customers and they are selling an expensive defective product to consumers. Search their various lawsuits before buying.

LG Refrigerator Repair Nightmare – Weeks Without a Fridge, No Resolution or Accountability. I am submitting this complaint to document an ongoing and extremely frustrating repair experience with LG that began on November 30 and remains unresolved. Our LG refrigerator stopped working on November 30. We submitted a repair request directly through LG’s website and were assigned Unique Repair Services. From the start, the process has been plagued by missed appointments, misleading information, and a complete lack of follow-through.

The first repair appointment on December 1 was a no-show with no communication. When I followed up, the repair company blamed LG, and LG blamed the repair company. The appointment was rescheduled for December 8. When I called to confirm the arrival window, I was told the appointment had been canceled and that a voicemail had been left for me. No voicemail was ever received. I was also told the required part was on order and would be delivered on December 9. At that time, I was told to expect a supervisor call from the repair company — which never happened. I contacted LG and was again told to expect a supervisor follow-up. That call never came either.

On December 10, I called again because I had been told the part should have already been delivered and we should be able to schedule the repair. I was then informed the part had never shipped and would arrive in 24–48 hours. Shortly after, I received an email from the repair company stating the part was actually on backorder, directly contradicting previous information. Most concerning, LG later informed me that Unique Repair Services does not service LG products and has not for over a year, and that we should never have been assigned to them — despite the repair being scheduled through LG’s own website.

On December 12, after spending over an hour and a half on the phone, I finally reached an LG supervisor. I was told the issue has been escalated “higher up,” but there is still no resolution. The part is backordered with no estimated availability, and LG cannot provide a timeline for repair or next steps. Once again, I was told to expect follow-up. Given the repeated promises of supervisor callbacks throughout this process — from both LG and the repair company — that never occurred, I am not confident that I will hear back this time either.

As a result, we have experienced:
    • Weeks without a functioning refrigerator
    • Significant food loss
    • Additional out-of-pocket costs for replacement food and eating out
    • Lost time and missed work due to repeated calls and scheduling issues

    • Ongoing misleading and conflicting information

This situation reflects serious failures in LG’s service coordination and customer support. I am posting this review to document the experience, warn other consumers, and urge LG to take accountability and provide a fair resolution.

We purchased the LG French door refrigerator 2018 because of the style and height. The refrigerator preformed how it should for the first 7 years with no issues. The refrigerator stopped working and we lost the food that was in the fridge. We were thinking this shouldn’t be a problem because this should be under warranty so we contacted the service department.

After providing our model / serial numbers they had us perform a few tests and told us the compressor was bad. But not to worry because it was covered under the 10 year warranty. They provide us with 3 appliance repair companies. After talking with all three of those contractors they informed us that we were out of their service areas and to contact a local company. The repairs cost over 1k to repair on a 7 year old refrigerator. Very disappointed with LG lack of responsibility and willingness to fix their problem! Two years ago, the plastic around the glass shelves started cracking. At first, we thought it was due to overstocking the shelves and made sure we did not (and have not) put too much stuff in the fridge. The door plastic shelves started cracking first. Then the plastic surrounds on glass shelving started cracking. The d and found broken plastic pieces in the fridge and on the floor.

I called LG and they said the fridge is out of warranty and CANNOT help me AT ALL with any replacement parts. I find it very interesting that the shelves started cracking shortly after the warranty ran out. I feel the plastic is designed to deteriorate and to force you to buy parts from LG as they are not available aftermarket. Never, ever buying an LG product ever again.
