My experience with LG has been one of the most frustrating customer service experiences I have ever had. Since purchasing my refrigerator, I have experienced repeated failures that required the compressor/motor to be replaced twice. As a result, I lost a significant amount of food due to spoilage and incurred substantial out-of-pocket expenses. I also had to take multiple days off work to accommodate technician visits and service appointments. The delivery process was equally disappointing. My refrigerator was delivered multiple times, and during the process, my hardwood flooring was damaged. The damage was serious enough that I had to repair and replace portions of my flooring, creating additional stress, inconvenience, and expense.
After years of dealing with these issues, I recently spoke with an LG manager hoping to find a fair resolution. Instead, I was offered a solution that was unrealistic and did not adequately address the losses and inconvenience I have experienced. Even more concerning, the manager (Jesus) disconnected the call while I was still speaking. I found this behavior highly unprofessional and disrespectful. A premium brand should stand behind its products and treat customers with respect. Unfortunately, my experience with LG has been the opposite: repeated product failures, damaged property, spoiled food, lost work time, and poor customer service. I have been far more patient than most customers would be under these circumstances. Sadly, LG has failed to provide the level of quality, accountability, and customer care that I expected. Based on my experience, I would not recommend LG products to friends, family, or other consumers.

LG French Door-in-Door. Delivered August 2020, Failed May 2026. We were out of town, everything ruined. Bottom line- LG doesn’t care. Started repair process May 22, still fighting through the lies and misinformation that they call a repair service today (June 23). No closer to a solution. They have permanently lost this customer and hopefully anyone who reads this, and everyone that I meet. I sent my tale of woe to the prez of LG; he don’t care!

At 7 years and 1 month, the compressor failed. Hundreds of dollars in food in the trash. Our model does have an extended 10-year warranty from LG on the compressor only (because they got sued for faulty compressors in 2020). Labor is a 5-year warranty (labor is about $900 in our area). LG has a "flat rate" option but guess what, that only for units less than 7 years old. Customer service gave us the name of a few certified repair places in our area. The nearest one, 1½ hours away! Won't send us the compressor to get our own guy. Love the look, and until a couple of days ago, I would have recommended it. Lucky for me, I have a 15-year-old Whirlpool in my garage as a backup. Guess new and shiny isn't better after all.

6 year old LG French door, double bottom freezer quit working, known trash compressor is noisy and still under warranty but LG customer service bots and foreign call center is designed to frustrate you and drag it out to the point you just give up and buying a new refrigerator so they don't have to warranty it. After the 4th contact I was told a repair tech would reach out within 48 hours, that was over a week ago and nothing. I've also had problems with my microwave, stove and dishwasher. All black stainless matching LG products. Temu level product and customer service. Just awful.

This is the 2nd LG refrigerator I have had. Both have not lasted 3 yrs. They SUCK!!! I just had to purchase a new one but stayed away from LG. Life is not good **! Your customer service is pathetic which I called yesterday. Of course what I needed was not covered under the warranty and you wanted to send a service tech out and charge me for parts and labor. NO THANKS!!! Just went out last night and bought a new fridge. I will NEVER recommend any of your products. I will also go on all my social media platforms to bad mouth your products. I would have given ZERO stars but was forced to give 1. LG doesn't deserve even 1 star. I also had a top of the line LG. My husband wants to bring it to your headquarters and drop it out of his vehicle because he says your brand is shit. Now I see why you have a 1.1 rating on this site.

I purchased an LG Refrigerator about 8 years ago. About every year to two years apart, I needed repairs. It didn't stay cold, or it made loud noises. They rebuilt it a couple of times. Come to find out from a repair tech, it wasn't defrosting right. He told me I had to unplug it and let it thaw for a day. I thought it was frost-free. After 5 repairs, LG said parts aren't available and go away. LOL. I talked to a couple others that owned LG Refrigerators. They got rid of theirs at about 5 years too. LG didn't cover the loss of food. I figure I lost close to $1000 in food. I wanted a replacement and they refused. I did buy mine from Costco. They only help for so long. STAY AWAY FROM LG REFRIGERATORS. Or come and buy mine. It is an oversized bread box. I've had a Whirlpool for 20 years, runs GREAT. I have 2 Refrigerators in my kitchen, so I have one that works. I bought the LG, it looked pretty, cool style. mistake. BUY AMERICAN!!!!!

We purchased the LGXS30776S refrigerator. Very disappointed. The compressor died within 6 months. Replaced under warranty, but food ruined. Approximately 4 years later the ice maker and water dispenser quit. After wasting money on a new panel and ice maker, we found the wires going into the door itself went bad. What a horrible design. Planned failure point. I learned how to bypass the door wire and rigged an external wire. That has worked for about 8 months now. A couple days ago the fridge appears to have a sensor going bad. Every day It quits working with a defrost error. Power down and back up and it works again. OH, and a permanent fuse quit about 4 months ago. I was able to solder a replacement in, but clearly it is on it's last leg. Won't be buying another.

We have had our LG refrigerator for just over 5 years. We also registered the refrigerator with LG when we purchased it. A few months before the warranty expired, the freezer stopped working. We made an appointment for warranty service, then the freezer started working again and we cancelled the appointment. This occurred 3 more times over the next 6 months. Each time we had to cancel the appointment because the refrigerator began working again. The fourth time, both the refrigerator and the freezer stopped working. This was over a month ago. Not only is the compressor not functioning, but each time we plug or unplug the refrigerator, it arcs at the outlet.
LG instructed us to unplug the unit and not use it. That was more than 3 weeks ago. We did all the troubleshooting with LG via phone, email, and text to no avail. I have notified LG that we have lost over $1,000 of food, purchased a separate freezer until for over $300, and purchased a used refrigerator we had to put in our basement to keep our food. Since then, for over a month, I have had 12 separate correspondences with LG regarding the issue and getting someone here to repair the refrigerator.
LG has done nothing short of making us jump through hoops. I have submitted the purchase invoice, the model and serial off the refrigerator, the delivery information, and the delivery acknowledgement which I signed. Each time, LG asks for more documentation and now says that they checked the invoice on the Home Depot slip with Home Depot and it does not exist. They also claim that the delivery receipt from Home Depot is unacceptable. Each email I receive back from them is filled with gratuitous remarks, then tells me that the paperwork is not sufficient. There is no more paperwork other than the original invoice and the delivery receipt, yet they continue to delay and tell me once I provide more information that I could not possibly have. They said once approved it would take 7 days to get a repair person here. They are now adding in that there could be a charge for the repair as well.
This has been one of the worst customer service experiences we have had for something that should be (1) simple to confirm via the paperwork, and (2) LG knowing full well that we are a family of four with a refrigerator that does not work who have spent almost $2,000 in food and backup units while they use what looks a lot like stall tactics so they do not have to honor the warranty repair. We have other LG products, but have never had to deal with an issue like this.
Now that we know how LG handles their warranty claims, stalls and requests paperwork repetitively that has already been supplied, and has no consideration for the fact that we have gone for over a month without a working refrigerator, we would never purchase another LG product. I will file a complaint with our attorney, the Better Business Bureau, and the Attorney General's office. IN addition, LG should not have access to my Home Depot account where I bought the refrigerator to check on purchases without my consent. Not only are they in violation of privacy rights, they have blatantly ignored their responsibility. I would not recommend LG to any customer. The purchase may work fine when you get it, but if our experience has shown anything, it is that LG does not stand behind their products and uses delay tactics to absolve themselves from responsibility.

I have had LG appliances for 6 years now. They were a year old when we bought the house. If you are not the original owner, they absolutely will not cover any warranty. Dishwasher went first at 3 years old, then the microwave at 4 years old, then the oven at 5 years old, and now the fridge at 6 years old. I took my chances with Frigidaire. LG is junk, and the attitude with their customer service is also horrible. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME and YOUR HARD-earned MONEY. YOU'VE BEEN WARNED!

I agree with everyone else. I will never buy another LG product again. My refrigerator has never worked properly. The compressor is notoriously weak in these units. I also had issues with the crisper drawers; they're not very useful. Even using the drawer settings as instructed, the produce dries out quickly. My food is spoiling at a much faster rate than the previous refrigerator I had (a Samsung). LG kept pestering me for a review, and when I made an honest one, calling out all these problems, they cut it and told me it didn't follow guidelines. If you are seeing good reviews, they may be false. I certainly know that they refuse to post negative reviews (even if they are earned and honest). Bad company, bad product.

There is a reason LG has a rating of 1.2. I bought a LG refrigerator in 2021 and six months later, the compressor went out. It took LG six weeks to get another compressor. It ruined over 400.00 worth of food. Then May of this year, the compressor went out again, ruining another 400.00 worth of food. They want to charge me to replace warranty compressor. Read the reviews. Unfortunately, I didn't. They have a class action suit going on due to so many compressors failing and with their knowledge. They are terrible. Their support team is terrible. I purchased an LG ThinQ Refrigerator 4 years and 7 months ago from Lowe's. I ALSO purchased the 5 year extended warranty. Everything was good until 3 weeks ago and it just quit. The error code indicates the compressor has serious error. I called to get the warranty work on it and no one came to look at it, they just made the diagnosis over the phone based on the error code Lowes and LG have been unable to get the part to repair it and I continue to get excuses that the parts will be here tomorrow (for the last 3 days) I live in Florida and have now been without any refrigerator for that long. I paid $3500 for this unit and I expect it to last longer than 4 years and would also expect Lowes to honor the warranty. Just stay away from LG products. I bought a four door LG refrigerator in December 2021, over $3,000 at the time. The "Craft Ice" maker stopped working after just over a year, despite following LG's advice for defrosting etc.. Finding multiple user reviews, I decided not to replace it given the design fault (apparently there was a class action lawsuit against LG for this part). In March 2026 the refrigerator stopped cooling, and developed a fault, which apparently was due to a failed freezer fan. The appliance was registered with LG and tracked on the ThinQ app, a total waste. It took over three weeks and several hours on the phone with customer "service" (if you can call it that) to be told that there's no repair company in my area who are able to repair my fridge.
Some agents were telling the fault was covered by warranty, others it's not. I spoke with six different agents and three "managers" (just as clueless). Some thought they knew what the fault was, others not. Neither was able to tell me what needs to be done to repair it and who could do it. They didn't even know the part number needed for the repair, and never returned my calls or emails, or those from my local repair technician. I had to look the part up on Google and buy it from Amazon, the figure out how to replace it. Basically, I'm on my own for my LG appliances in my area in Southern Vermont. Without any exaggeration, the worst customer service ever. A total disgrace and will not be buying LG ever again.

Needing to replace our old washer and drier was unexpected, so our household had to go without this convenience for two weeks while awaiting delivery. Rather than provide us with a delivery date and time, this company contracts with a delivery service that has non-English speakers answering the phones, and provides no "delivery window" other than "...Someone will call you either the night before or the morning of delivery." I call up - "due to a pricing error" on their website they have to cancel my order. No compensation, they will not honor the pricing, they will not be sending me the monitor, I will get a refund but it might take a week.
They refuse to help me in any way. They won't even comp me for rapid shipping of a replacement monitor, given that it was needed for work purposes. They didn't call me in advance to tell me this, they wait until after the delivery date was due, and I have to call them to find out what happened? It was just so poorly handled. I’ve owned the LG French door refrigerator for just over one year . A rattling sound is coming from the refrigerator when you open the door the sound stops.. The icemaker is no longer making ice.. I called the LG team. They sent a service repair team to look at the refrigerator and fix it.. I got the service, waited 24 hours after getting the service to see how the fridge was doing. The refrigerator is still not making ice. The only issue I had was the refrigerator not making ice. After the service repair person was done fixing the icemaker the icemaker was still not working. The fridge stopped freezing, and the fridge stopped cooling.
The only issue I had initially was the icemaker, but whatever the service person did to the refrigerator it stopped working altogether. I have been calling LG with the complaint. The only answer I keep getting is that they contacted the service person and he is going to repair it. Weeks have passed and no one is calling me with an appointment or showing up to fix what he did not fix and to tell me why and what he did that my entire refrigerator is not working anymore.

I purchased an LG four-door French door refrigerator in September 2024, and it performed well until mid-March 2026, when I discovered that the upper right door gasket had begun tearing from the bottom upward. Although the one-year factory warranty expired less than six months ago, I contacted LG to request a goodwill repair or replacement at no cost, given the relatively recent expiration and my history as a repeat customer. I regularly purchase complete LG kitchen appliance packages for my investment properties, and as recently as two months ago, I purchased an LG washer for my home.
After speaking with several representatives and requesting a goodwill accommodation, I was informed that the repair would cost a flat $399. The only concession offered was a $30 discount, which I declined. I am disappointed that a critical component, such as the rubber door seal, appears to be of such low quality that it failed in under 18 months. Equally concerning is LG’s apparent willingness to forgo a long-term customer relationship rather than stand behind what I believe to be a defective part. I had been planning to replace my 20-year-old Whirlpool dryer with an LG model and to consider another LG kitchen package for an upcoming investment property. However, this experience has caused me to reconsider those plans. Appliance shoppers, take note!

Apparently they only guarantee their repairs for 90 days and want us to pay another $450 (with tax) AGAIN. Tech no showed, no call today (LG tech no less) which we took off work for. Finally get ahold of the tech and he says interesting. "Someone" rescheduled the appt until next Monday for which we are not available. Called LG and they tell us the tech rescheduled. Didn't bother to call or consult us at all. Here we sit without a fridge again in less than 7 months. Going in over 3 weeks this time. Called customer service and they don't care. LG refrigerator - would give this product zero stars if could. Like many many others, my two brand new fridges (both LG) suddenly stopped working after 4 yrs. I notice a class action lawsuit had been filed - with a submission date of October 2024 (it is now February 2026), so I am unable to hope on that bandwagon! I have lost over $1000 worth of meat/dairy etc. and spent $600 having one fridge's computer board replaced. The second fridge was taken to the dump!
Nearly $4000 on two fridges, plus $1000 food waste plus $600 repair that didn't work. Now I have to purchase 2 replacement fridges. LG's solution? Pay an additional $499 plus tax for a one time repair that includes parts and labour! After reading additional post repair reviews - I will not be doing this - I will use this money instead to purchase a NON-LG fridge. Save yourself the frustration and extra costs and bug anything other than an LG!!!
