This is a Kenmore Elite fridge made by LG. I am having the 6th service call tomorrow. The computer has gone out twice, I have had to reset the thing to avoid loosing all my food, they tell me that I should not have reset it and waited a week to ten days for a service tech to make it. The freezer door does not close completely unless you knee it on the right side, the freezer handel fell off, it throws ice on the floor when you open the freezer compartment (my personal record is 17 pieces). The door to the bottom drawer of the fridge compartment has broken twice. LG will not even talk to me, I like Sears, I feel bad that they bought a piece of crap but they are the ones that I suppose must be responsible for this thing. Fortunately I have a 15+/- year old GE that I can use and at this point I keep nothing in the LG freezer in that I do not trust the thing.

Lost food, melted ice dammage to hardwood floors in kitchen. Waiting for a tech six times.

My LG refrigerator did not work correctly from the first day I had it installed.
The day I had it installed in a new home with custom wood floors it leaked all over the floor. I called the company and it took a few calls and several days to have someone look at the leak, in the meantime I had to turn off the water to the refrigerator.

We purchased an LG French Door bottom freezer. The unit has a built in alarm to let you know the doors are open. What they did not tell us, that I later found out by complaining to LG customer service is that the doors are alarmed because they do not shut properly most of the time. The alarm is there to warn you that the unit will overheat and burn out because of the poor design.

If you have an unauthorized service company disco>nnect your alarm you will void the warranty, according to LG. When you put your groceries away you have to endure this horrible alarm repeatedly. When you are deciding what to eat or drink you have to endure. It is awful when you find yourself telling your refrigerator to shut the you know what up on a daily basis!

Our second complaint is the ice maker. I find it interesting, all the same complaints while scrooling through. Everytime, and I mean everytime, you open the freezer, the ice falls all over the floor and all over the freezer bin. I'm sick of picking it up off the floor!

We are so stressed by the repeated alarm noise, that if I could afford to pitch this unit out, I would!

I purchased an LG refrigerator in July of 2006. This refrigerator came and never worked. We had service people come to repair and everything the tried didn't work. After 3 attempts to fix it (and going 1 month with no refrigerator) I got LG to send me a replacement refrigerator. Mind you this was not an easy task. Many phone calls and many visits home to let in the repair man. My time is worth something. It took another 2 weeks to get the refrigerator. At this point we had went 6 weeks with no refrigerator. (The original guy who came to repair scratched my brand new hard wood floors).

The new refrigerator comes and it has dents in the panel. I start the process of trying to get those replaced. The run around I get is unblievable. They say they can replace because 90 days have past. The 90 days was on the original refrigerator and not the new one. I have never been so frustrated in my whole life. I finally (after several attempts) got them to give me $150.00 in lost food.

Last week (June 1, 2007) the refrigerator quits. Call a repair man and it will be awhile to get the parts.
I am no going on 10 days with out a refrigerator again. In the mean time I call LG and they give me the run around. I have lost well over $150.00 in food and want to get reimbursed. They say that I have already received my one time $150.00 in food. (That was on the first refrigerator). I can't beleive there web site evens mentions customer service...as they have none.

Loss of food...Loss of extreme amount of time to trying to get this resolved.

I purchased an LG bottomf freezer refridgerator on 9/9/05 for $1200. Less than two years since purchase I have to pay $576 for repairs to the control board and defrost limit. I called LG and after being on hold for a long time I finally got someone who said they could do nothing for me. Now I understand warranties but I would really expect that when i buy an applince it should last at leat 3 years before something goes wrong. Also, I cannot believe that the parts can cost so much and that it will be 10 days before the parts come in to be fixed. I would really like to find out how many of these comtrol panels or defrost limits have gone on the LG models so quickly. I will never buy another LG product again. I am really dissapointed.

I have lost a whole refidgerator of food and I have no refidgerator for at least 10 days.

I have very bad experience with the LG. I got one refrigerator from Best Buy on March, 2004 which cost $1664 and the sealed system (the warranty for the system is 7 years) had the problem after one year (June, 2005), the tech support came and had it fixed. After a few months later (Feb, 2006) the same problem happened again. I had to call customer support and escalated this case to the manager team. After more than SIX weeks, I finally got it replaced with a NEW one. One year later (May, 2007), the same exact problem happened again for the NEW one.

Since the Labor is out of warranty even the part isnt, I have to pay $87.50 for one local service Center which was authorized by LG customer service came and found out it is unrepairable system problem. But the LG Tech service insists it is repairable and wants me to call another service center for repairing. And I have been told by one of their supervisors -- Brain that I have to go through all the 7 service centers in my area if one cant repair for me and pay all the service charge by myself. This is so ridiculous, I already trashed hundred dollars worth food and living without refrigerator for months in all the three instances.

I have to say LG has the worst product and service, and SHOULD BE PUT OUT OF BUSINESS. I will never have any LG products again.

I bought an LG french door refrigerator on 6/11/06, On 5/13/07 I got an error message on the key pad. I call customer servive who told me that the defrost heater was going out on it. They said that it was still under warranty and gave me some phone numbers to call for service on it. I quickly found out that NO ONE in our area services LG refrigerators!

I called customer service back & they told me that the food in my frig would not go bad for several weeks and that they would make an appt for me by 5/18/07 to have it fixed. On 5/17/07 when I got home from work I found that the frig was WARM and everything in the freezer was thawed..

I called back to LG customer service again , only to find out that my case was sitting in the service dept and that they were waiting on management to approve mileage

for someone to come from another area, if they found someone to fix it at all. I got a supervisor on the phone who put in a message for management to call me the next morning. This brings us up to this minute. I called customer service back who has informed me that management usually takes 24 or more hours to return a call!

I have just had a screaming hissy fit! I have been now on hold for a manager for the past 33 minutes am still on eternal hold. Why are they selling refrigerators that go out after 11 months and DO NOT have service techs in this area who call do warrant or other serive work? Why am I having to deal with customer service 7 days after the first call. Oh yer, they say they will reimburse me for up to 250.00 for the ruined food. The furniture company says they need permission fron LG to do this, LG has told the repair company they don't want to do that. About 16 months ago, I purchased a french door refrigerator from Home Depot. Just after the warrenty expired at 12 months, the refrigerator started making noise every time the fan from the refrigerator section to the freezer section started up. It was obviously due to frost build up in the fan housing. I solved the problem by using a hair dryer in the freezer vent. I now happens every 3 or 4 weeks. If the fan stalls, the unit shuts down and I'm afraid that if I'm on vacation, everything will melt and spoil.

I've contacted LG by mail and phone with no help. One representative said they had no other complaints on this refrigerator, but suggested that I unplug the unit for 3 hours and give it time to thaw the frost. This implyies to me that they have had other complaints. Home Depot has been no help. When I try to contact one of LG's recommended service reps in the area, they either don't answer the phone or say they are not scheduling service calls on LG at this time.

May end up scrapping the unit and filing some kind of suit. I'm keeping a log of the calls and responses. It was an expensive refrigerator.

Danger of loosing all the food in the refrigerator and a load fan noise as the fan frosts up.

The 3-door LG refrigerator is mostly well-designed and has many good features however the ice maker is not a good feature! Its bin is not water-tight - made of snap-together plastic parts. It is easy to cause melting, because the instructions are not clear, resulting water drips down through the electrical control panel and to the floor. This can be prevented, but at the cost of maintaining a full bucket of ice, which then gets stale from non-use.

Don't buy an LG refrigerator. I have had one since 2004 and it has broken 4 seperate times. The parts are never in stock, so when the fridge goes down you have to wait a week before they can fix it. The first 3 times LG stood behind the machine and extended the warranty coverage as necessary. But most recently, with my 3rd Ef FF error message (fan has blown again), they say they will not fix anymore. So, this time in addition to losing food, and having to wait for the part, the repair (about $300 if I had to guess) is on me. In addition to poor quality, they have a horrible ice cube tray design where the cubes fall all over the freezer when you pull the tray out. Stupid. But the worst thing by far is this fan problem - they should be embarassed. I will never buy LG again.

I have a LG French Door Refrigerator that I purchased in June of 2006, with an extended warranty through Best Buy. I have contacted LG numerous times (more than 15 and spent hours on the phone) and had more than 3 repair visits. I still have the problem.

One repair man replaced the ice maker but told me he didn't think it would solve the problem. It didn't. He said all the refrigerators like mine have the same problem. I was told by LG that the company was aware of the problem and had redesigned the ice bin. The company has sent me 2 "redesigned" ice bins - they are identical to the one that came with the refrigerator.

Tonight Customer Service informed me that the ice bin that came with the refrigerator was the "redesigned" bin and to just turn off the ice maker. They said there is no other solution!

Purchased an LG fridge in August 2005 for $1000. Home Depot guy told us it was an up and coming company. Realized about a month ago (out of warranty by 6 months) that the fridge section wasn't cold enough...the lights on the control display were not even working. Called LG service dept and they sent a local guy out to assess. He said the self-defroster was not working and that was causing the fridge to warm up. All this was caused by a faulty Control Board that would need to be replaced. He quoted me $80-$100 for the part.

He was here 20 minutes and charged me $80 for his service call and $20 down pymnt for the part. A week later, a different guy shows up with the part and tells me it's actually $270, not $80-$100. By this time I had already let the freezer defrost manually, and that got the fridge working again, so this second guy decides not to install the part, hold it at the shop for a week or so, and see how the fridge acts now that the defrost has been done. He says he's seen the computer reset itself and then start working fine after that.

2 weeks have gone by now and the fridge is warming up again. I tried to contact LG to order the part myself so I could install it myself and save another $80 service call...maybe even buy it for less than $270, but that part can only be ordered by a qualified service technician. What a racket!

So...with the fridge out of warranty now, can LG really tell me that I have to pay one of their techs to install this part on MY own refrigerator? I may have to and that will mean that only 17 months after purchase, this fridge I bought for $1000, will now cost me another $430 to repair ($270 for the part, and 2 service calls @ $80 a piece).

Then after that the drawers in the freezer started to rust and the icemaker overloads with ice and falls under the drawers. Now its freezimg my produce.

The dishwasher was supposed to be quiet. It started out that way, but now it is noisy and obnoxious. I have had the baskets replace; the buttons stick and the gasket is cracked.

Finally to make the microwave run properly you have to slam the door shut; the inside plate comes off it track continually and the 1 & 0 buttons are wearing.

My husband and I purchased an LG fridge in November of 2005. As soon as we hooked up the ice maker, it made ice continually. The ice overflows the ice maker tray and spills all over the back of the freezer. We should have taken this as the omen. Within 6 months all of the plastic brackets on one side of the bottom freezer broke and the freezer would only close if the basket was pulled up. A service person came out as planned but had to order all new brackets for the basket. Next we noticed that the display was reading an error. By the time the service person arrived, I had lost everything in my fridge and about half of the items in the freezer had begun to defrost. A motor was order, received and installed.

The motor has gone out again, and my service person informed me that when he spoke with the LG technician, he was told that a new board had to be installed or this 'issue' with the motor would be an on going problem. The tech informed us that we had to contact customer service, and they should provide us with a concession for the parts. I contacted customer service only to be told that LG does not offer extended warranty and since my unit was out of warranty by 2 months they would not help us. I tried to explain to him that when the motor was ordered we were still under warranty.

We purchased an LG French door bottom freezer refrigerator from Home Depot. It was installed in July 2006. It was apparent as soon the ice bin filled completely that the icemaker was making too much ice. Each time we pulled out the shelf that the icemaker sits on, ice fell off the the top of the bin into the freezer and onto the floor, a phenomenon enjoyed by the dog but no one else. I called LG and they arranged for a service technician to come to my house. This occurred and the tech ordered and subsequently installed a new icemaker. The problem got worse with more ice falling off into the freezer and onto the floor.

I called LG again and again they arranged for a service call. The tech remembered the original visit and phoned me to say he would call LG to find out the remedy for the problem since he had already replaced the icemaker. When I finally spoke to him again 10 days later, he told me that LG is aware of the icemaker problem but is unable to fix it! I phoned LG customer service again and was told to turn my icemaker off until the bin is empty and then to turn it on again. To me, this is not an acceptable solution.

In May 2005, I purchased an LG Refrigerator with bottom freezer and water dispenser in the door for $1,699. The salesperson assured me that LG is very dependable and makes "the guts" for GE and Amana. So I bought it.

About 6 months later, the water dispenser button stuck about 50% of the time, causing water to go all over the floor. Then we noticed a build up of ice in the freezer on the food and inside the walls and doors. The manual said this could be caused by keeping the freezer door open too often, so we didn't call service.

In August 2006, after the one year Limited Warranty was up, the display showed EE / FF error code. We called the 1-800 # at LG, and were told to unplug the refrigerator to reset the circuit board. The fan was not kicking in, nor was the compressor. We called an authorized service agent. He found the ice build up was due to a bad circuit board that does not tell the system when to kick in and defrost. He had to order a new circuit board -- not under the 7 year warranty for the compressor.

He said it seems to be a manufacturer's defect. We are still waiting for the part to come in. They can't tell us when it will be here. This is poor customer service and pathetic quality.

If we were not here every day to check the refrigerator, unplug it, open the freezer door to force it to defrost, we would lose all our food.

I purchased an LG side by side refrigerator from Home Depot in April of this year. The first refrigerator that was delivered had a significan dent in the door. LG told us that they would replace the door, but then when we turned on the refrigerator, it wouldn't cool down. Home Depot agreed to replace it and did so quickly. The second refrigerator was delivered and worked initially. Since we were traveling, we only used the refrigerator for 5 days before returning to our first home in NJ. At that point things seemed to be OK. When we returned to Arizona, we started up the refrigerator and initially it seemed OK but a bit warmer than we expected. After 2 days, the temperature inside the freezer was 57 degrees and the refrigerator was room temperature.

I contacted Home Depot and they told me that the maintenance contract was through LG and gave me the contact them. What a run around! On the first call, they told me that I had to have an authorized repair man attemp to repair it. They only gave me 2 names and both of those repair agents were unable to schedule me in for a minimum of 2 weeks. However, one of them gave me the name of an independent contractor that they used and sure enough, he got approval from LG to do the work. The problem was that there was a leak in the cooling system and the unit was completely out of coolant. He refilled the unit, but said it would probably last less than a week. He gave us the papers to send in to LG.

I contacted LG a second time, and they informed me that the papers were insufficient. The repair man had to talk to their technical team to be instructed on how to fix it. Fortunately, the repairman was willing to do that and got confirmation that the refrigerator was not repairable. I called them a third time and they said that they were unable to do anything without all of the original paperwork. I faxed all of that in within an hour of the call. The next call, number 4, they told me that they would have to review the case and they would let me know their decision. (Their technical staff had already declared in unrepairable) Calls 4-11 were virtually repeats of each other, but distilled down to the basics, if they replaced the refrigerator, it would be sent to me from Korea and it would take between 4weeks and 4 months, but that they had not yet decided that they would replace it!!!!!!!

In Arizona, it is simply not possible to live without a refrigerator since foods will spoil within a day in the summer heat. The idea of being without a refrigerator for the next 4 to 16 weeks is just ridiculous. I would strongly advise anyone considering an LG appliance to look for ANY other brand. They may be nice looking and reasonalby priced, but if you have a problem, you are on your own, despite that 7 year warranty

Five months after I bought my LG french door refrigerator, the left door clip broke that caused the left refrigerator door to open on it's own. LG claimed there was a problem with the resin and could be fixed. That was in January.

So each day I would put a chair in front of the door to keep it closed. It took until April for the parts to become available and the door to be fixed. Then in the beginning of July the right door clip broke. I have called LG numerous times to have this repaired and spent hours on the phone, on hold waiting for someone to answer the phone. LG did eventually speak with me and agreed to extend my warranty for 30 days (whooppeee!). They claim to have sent me that in writing, but I have never received it. They claim to have faxed it to the authorized repair center, but they have never received it.

Finally this week (8/16) a repair man arrived unannounced to repair the right door, but had the left door clip. So, no repair.

I again called LG to complain. A service rep said that I "obviously was opening the door improperly and caused the clip to break". I was unaware that a refrigerator door could be opened improperly, and I have been opening doors for forty years. No one has ever told me I was doing it incorrectly.

LG's response to my email was, "As we have had recent department changes, our email response team is currently undergoing reorganization and will be able to provide our customers with support again in the near future."

Life is not Good with LG, in fact, it is BAD!

We purchased an LG side-by side refrigerator in Feb 2006. We immediately started having problems with the ice maker. The ice tray gets stuck upside down (when it dumps ice into the ice bin). Then water is not able to pour into the ice tray and it ends up draining down the freezer all over the shelves and into the bins. It has ruined food and it is very time consuming to clean up the mess. We turned the ice maker off, instead we buy bags of ice and refill the ice bin ourselves. I called LG Customer Service and they are sending out a contracted service company, but LG stated if they find it to be broken and not a defect We will be responsible for the service call, parts and labor.

We purchased a new LG refrigerator and within one month an error code appeared on our screen, and the fridge basically started to defrost. I contacted LG and they gave me a dispatch # to a local appliance repair shop.

Repairman came out about 2 weeks later, and supposedly repaired it, but 2 days later our fridge had the same error code.

A tech came and "repaired" it again. Another week, we get the SAME ERROR message. And to boot, the freezer starts to defrost, and we lose $$$$ in food again.

Now, about 2 1/2 months after the purchase of the unit, we are getting the runaround from LG. They say they won't refund, it's not their practice to do so.

My LG refrigerator has had a broken ice maker for several months and there appears to be no replacement units available to fix the problem. I purchased this refrigerator in December 2004, it broke 14 months later. The service visit to diagnose the problem cost $90 and the part itself will cost an additional $350 plus labor.

My old refrigerator worked far better than this one for 15 years. I am angry that I have to pay for this replacement part and angry that it cannot be fixed in any timely manner.

We bought an LG refrigerator in July 2005 from Best Buy in Billings, Mt. It was delivered at the end of August 2005. We started having trouble with the defroster and icemaker in March. I called Best Buy and was sent to LG. I called LG and got the name of a repair company. I called them. They came out, complaining the whole time about LG not paying promptly on warranty work and the parts taking so long. He looked at it and left. Around a week later he came back with the part and installed it. But it was not fixed.

So I called the same repair company again, and they came back out. He looked at it and started to leave. I found a screw on the floor and showed him. He was mad and rude, came back and put the screw in somewhere, started to leave again and I told him the icemaker wiggled. It was not in solid and the door was making a noise. He told me that the icemaker was supposed to do that and he fixed the door so that it would not tilt out (like it was supposed to do) and said that would fix the problem.

In June I still had the problem. I called Best Buy, was sent to LG. LG gave me the name of another repair company. I called RN appliance out of Laurel, MT. and was told over the phone that they did not like to work on LG appliances because they did not get paid for work and parts took too long to get. So I called LG back and told them what the man had said. While I was on the phone, they called RN and said that RN would come out. They came out yesterday, June 19th. But when he looked at the freezer, he said that it ,more than just a defroster problem, that there was more wrong with it. And he refused to work on it.

He told me that if I would pay him, he would work on it. Then he told me to go to Best Buy and get them to exchange it, since it was under a year. I left and went to Best Buy and they refused to do anything. They told me to call LG. Do you get the idea here: Best Buy - LG- repair company - Best Buy - LG, etc. This is what I have been through the past several months.

I called LG last night and talked to someone who told me that a complaint was recorded July 17th, and they had 5 days to find someone to repair the refrigerator, if in that time they could not find someone to repair it, then it would be turned over to a third party, who would then be given 24 hours to find someone to repair it. If they couldn't find anyone, then the process would start on replacing the refrigerator with a new one. I feel that I have been having this problem for months so I shouldn't have to wait for their so-called experts to find a repair company. ALL I will have is a less than year old repaired refrigerator and will break again. The best indicator of future behavior is past behavior.

I have had my LG refrigerator not quite 1 year. Freezer keeps getting ice built up on back wall which has caused the motor to freeze up. Ice falls back behind the bottom drawer causing the door not to close correctly. Little tabs have broken off the soda drawer so will not pull out correctly. Had service out to fix problems and tech said that this is the same problem stated with this applicance by other consumers. E-mailed LG to send me the little brackets. Never got answer.

Food spoilage. When realized what had happened. Called tech first time...Since has used hair dryer to melt built up ice. Will never purchase another LG product. Last frig over 10 years old passed on to son, still works better than this one.

My LG refrigerator was less than 2 years old when the fan in freezer failed. Lost all food in freezer and refrigerator (cost $500+). Parts on order for a week for an estimated repair cost of $100+.

My first refrigerator, that was manufactured in America, lasted 30+ years without a problem. It is time we demand quality products that will perform without the throw away mentality that is so prevelent in todays society.

Refrigerator with icemaker new in 10/05. Problem with icemaker falling apart - pieces of plastic and styrofoam in ice cubes - replaced. Since being replaced makes 8 ice cubes in 2 hours. When calling for service regarding this -- told this is normal (!!) and nothing could be done.

We are now buying ice by the bag in addition to icemaker. Will probably look to purchase another refrigerator but it will not be LG.

LG Refrigerator, Model LRSC 26915SW; SN: 595378 was purchased on 10/31/05. This appliance began to show hints of difficulties almost immediately.

From the first time the machine was started, according to the settings given in the manual, it was not able to pull down the freezer or refrigerator compartment to the temperatures suggested. We noticed that the machine operated more than normally, and we had some icing in the freezer compartment.

In early December, we discovered a pool of oil under the compressor when the refrigerator was moved for cleaning. This set off a round of calls for service, and the LG Service Center was contacted on 12/19/05; County Appliance Repair made a service call on 12/22/05 and added freon, but could not find the source of the leak. They returned for another service call about two weeks later with a leak detector, and they were still unable to find the leak.

County Appliance Service returned on 01/24/06 to replace the compressor and the evaporator, but the new evaporator was defective. Thus, we have a new compressor but old evaporator and at least 6 new soldered joints that are potential problem sites for future sources of leaks .

8-month-old refrigerator failed. When LG was contacted for service (still under warranty) they are unable to provide a tech to my address. Closest one is 12 miles away, but refuses to service my address. After 10 days, I asked for a replacement. LG says OK, but must be approved, and passed through channels. When I asked to speak to customer service supervisor, was informed all were busy, and I could wait for returned call, up to 72 hours. When I asked to be left on hold for supevisor, was tolded I could not tie up the line, the customer service rep needed to keep line clear for other calls. 48 hours have passed, with no call back from supervisor.

The refrigerator I bought 10 months ago broke down.It has been 3 weeks and still no one has come out to fix it. I can never speak to the same person twice. The product is under a year warranty, so I have to deal with the manufacturer. The compressor has been diagnosed. All we get from LG is that it is up to be repaired, no idea when.
