If I could, I will give zero stars for product and service. This has been the worst experience with a new product i.e. refrigerator. I bought the refrigerator at Home Depot exactly 18 months ago. A couple of weeks ago I found my kitchen floor next to the refrigerator full of water, I looked around and notice that the water was leaking from the door ice maker, when I opened the door, I noticed an error message displayed lE and to call LG tech support. When I called, I was asked to provide a credit information for a charge of $450 since the one-year warranty has expired, since I wanted it fixed, I did.

They scheduled a tech to come over and fix the problem and they mailed out a part to me. When the tech showed up, and when he tried to replace the part he couldn’t since it was the wrong part, that same scenario repeated itself one more time. I received the wrong part and supposedly another part was ordered and I received a text to confirm an appointment on Dec. 24. I did but no one has showed up so I tried to reschedule and got a text that it was set up for Dec. 27. I still don’t know why I must pay for a faulty part within an expect reasonable time of purchase of a new product.

Avoid LG Products! Here's Why: I’m sharing my experience to save others from the nightmare we’ve endured. Over three months ago, while my wife and I were out of town, our LG refrigerator broke down, causing us to lose all our food. When we returned, we contacted LG and discovered that part of our 5-year-old unit was still under warranty. LG scheduled an appointment with one of their authorized service companies, A-Fix Service. Over a span of 1.5 months, A-Fix canceled on us twice and sent out three different technicians, none of whom could fix the fridge. Frustrated, I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau (BBB) in New Jersey, where LG USA is headquartered.

Following this, LG sent one of their own technicians. After three visits, the fridge finally worked—though only for a week. By then, LG had assigned me a special customer service representative. When I reported that the fridge had stopped working again, the representative claimed the issue was due to a rodent infestation and insisted we call pest control. Though this claim was absurd, I complied. Pest control confirmed what I already knew: there were no rodents in my home. Despite this, I demanded LG send a different technician. This time, LG sent another authorized servicer, who managed to get the fridge working. But, like before, it only lasted a week.

At this point, I informed both LG and the BBB that it was clear the unit could not be repaired and requested a full replacement. Four days later, the LG representative informed me that the last technician had reported a roach infestation and that my case was closed. This was completely untrue, and now, my fight continues. The only reason I haven’t replaced this refrigerator is because of how unjust this situation is. As an advocate, I want LG to be held responsible. I will keep fighting and sharing my story to ensure no one else has to go through this.

We purchased LG French door 5 years ago and have loved it until 5.2 months later it all of sudden stopped cooling, both top and the freezer section. After spending numerous hours with LG customer service, we come to find out no one can service and replace the compressor in our area. Some repair companies refuse to work with LG and some are not certified. So far LG is not sending us (consumers) the compressor without a certified technician available. So we are pretty much stuck with huge appliance that doesn't work properly. 1 repair company from 2 hours away said even if they come out and they send the compressor, the warranty doesn't cover the other parts and labor and they usually run $1500 to 2100. Do not buy LG, after asking customer service a buy-out option they are not fixing our French door light up fancy fridge with water dispenser and all because no one can service!

Our LG refrigerator's compressor stopped working in December 2024. Bought it in April 2021. We called up LG customer service, spoke to Leo and received excellent assistance in getting our compressor fixed. He sent us a text requiring a receipt and a picture of the refrigerator label, told us how to obtain the receipt (we bought it from Home Depot) and informed us that someone was going to contact us. Later on the same day, an authorized appliance repair company, Total Appliance Solutions contacted us to set up an appointment for the next day.

A technician came as scheduled (even called before arriving), replaced the compressor on the spot and gave us a follow up call the following day to ensure that the refrigerator was cooling. We had thought that it would have taken longer between setting up the appointment and getting the parts to repairing but pleasantly surprised that the process was fast, efficient and smooth, in 2 days I had a working refrigerator back. Fingers crossed, hope the new compressor would last us another few years! Overall, from beginning to end, we had excellent service that exceeded our expectations!!

Nobody showed up in the 4 hour window. Called LG and was informed that it was rescheduled for a week later without any notification. Purchased a LRFCS29DS in August of 2023. All was well until I was wiping front today and a finish started to peel off (not the plastic protection when new). This is a print free refrigerator and I think that finish is what is peeling. Can't be sure of that, as all the customer service rep could say was, "Over one year old to expensive to fix, you will have to live with it or purchase an extremely expensive new door.". How can these places not back their products - they charge plenty they should stand behind them. Beware if you are looking to buy an LG refrigerator..

I purchased a French Door Refrigerator and had it installed by my contractor in new construction. I noticed that the bottom of the door handle was not secured to the door. When I investigated it was because the set-screw hole was not fully tapped - so when the set-screw was fully tightened, it did not extend into the space to secure the door. After spending far too much time with LG chat to resolve the situation - their solution was to send new screws. Really? They did every thing they could to make it a burden to get a resolution - and would not acknowledge that they shipped a defective part and that I should have paid for "professional" installation to secure a set-screw. Really? I am trying to escalate to get an acceptable resolution - which should not be needed since the (defect) problem is so obvious - but LG is making it very difficult. I will not buy an LG product again!

LG fridge with their inverter linear compressor, LG-Literal Garbage! Didn't even last 9 years with a 10 year warranty. But LG told me the compressor part number for the model fridge is out of stock/Discontinued. They said a substitute was available in 7-10 business days. When asked what the warranty on that suitable compressor was, I was assuming it would have a 10 year just like the original. Nope! The warranty stays with the original even if replaced. So had I replaced the compressor with the substitute, it would only have 2 years left on the warranty. WTH? So much for their 10 year warranty on sealed system parts.

Last straw was no reimbursement of any kind for food loss, or fridge failure under warranty. These LG fridge compressors people know they fail early, lawsuits filed, LG avoided accountability via arbitration. Can't sue them. Clause printed on the package/delivery carton box! Nobody even sees those boxes. LG even knows they fail premature and stores are still selling LG fridges. Literally Garbage fridges that only look pretty. Mine went to the dump and I bought a different brand of fridge.

Upon contacting LG regarding the issue, they denied our claim and refused to help stating that they don't have water lines in their refrigerators that have ice makers and water dispensers. Save yourself time, money and headaches and buy a different brand. They don't care about you or their products after the purchase. The President Liaison voice of customer with LG, Sharnise was very rude and was unhelpful and mentioned that she was the highest level of "customer service" Management that we can talk to. We purchased all new LG Appliances 5 years ago from Home Depot. They are beautiful but not reliable. Let's start with our glass cooktop: The burners are finicky and simmering requires constant vigilance because they run too hot to simmer. One of the warming burners has never worked. The display on the stove is broken after a service repair (for the malfunctioning burner) and LG is giving us the run around about fixing it and our warranty is about to expire.

We have an LG refrigerator that I do like, however the craft ice maker has needed to be replaced 3-4 times in the last 5 years (I lost count). The regular ice-maker works like any average ice maker. The microwave sometimes doesn't warm food or beverages, and the display goes blank frequently so I have to reprogram the clock. The dishwasher is only average. My old GE dishwasher that came with our house 25 years ago got our dishes cleaner. Overall, I would not recommend LG appliances. They are finicky and not reliable.

Do yourself a favor. Walk right on by LG refrigerators (Thin IQ), they have the worst customer service you can imagine to start with. I have been without a refrigerator for almost 3 weeks. They do not care either. I’ve only had the unit for a year. I began having problems in December of last year (FF EE code). The many times I called the service line I was told, "It was just frost. Put your food in a cooler or coolers and defrost it for 8 hours." They were kind enough to send a YouTube link with instructions. I went through this process multiple times with the blame being put on me for just not doing it right according to customer service.

This last Thursday was different, I didn’t mention this earlier this is a smart refrigerator, I get notifications on my phone when it is malfunctioning. This time I didn’t get a notification, when I get home I go into the freezer for some ice it’s melted, I contact customer service once again, I was greeted with call this service person they will fix it, I called had the problem diagnosed fan motor is done needs a new one, ok here’s where it gets nuts. I’m told it’s out of coverage for that the parts over $200 and another $300 and change to fix it. I called customer service. Once again I was told no. They are gonna cover it. They have to go another route. Someone will call me by Saturday, nobody called. I call them again. "We’re gonna escalate this. They will reach out to you. Give them 48 hours." Until Monday no call.

Monday reach out again to customer service. This time they did actually have them call me. "A tech was scheduled to come out Friday for you." 7 days without a fridge now. Now that all the food is defrosted. We cooked what we could and had toss a lot of food and medications that had to be refrigerated. Friday comes the tech shows up. Looks at it. Says I can’t fix this. Mind you I took time off work for this, I’m told I don’t have that part. What we know what the problem was why don’t you have the part, customer service neglected to tell home what part he needed. He can order it and be here by Wednesday. Now I call customer service. They tell me the tech lied. He knew what he needed.

I requested a manager. I was greeted by a rude foreign woman by the name of Jin which was hard to get out of her, she asked me what my problem was. We have it on record the part was ordered. I said he was supposed to have the part when he came. We already diagnosed the issue, the part ordered, that’s when I asked her name. That’s when she asked me if I was stupid because she told me when she took over the call. Now I’m livid. I told them I reporting them to BBB, her response, "I don’t care. Go ahead." This is exactly what I did with, I was contacted by the liaison to the president of LG via text who won’t give you a number to call her. She’s working on it.

Now Wednesday is here. No notification from the repair man so I reach out, "When are you coming?" "Can’t make it. I’ll be there Monday," day 2 missed of work, now here we are Monday waiting. No call. No show. Contact them again. "Sorry. Can’t make it." Oh by the way their repair window is from 8am-5pm, if you’re counting this is the third day I’ve had to alter or miss work for them. Now I’m currently sitting in limbo. Possible this Wednesday they will come. Nobody knows. Read all the reviews on LG refrigerators before buying. This was my biggest mistake. Not doing my research. This was supposed to be an upgrade. My Whirlpool was 16 years old. Never once had to repair it. This was a big mistake.

We pay to replace the compressor $350, Labor was $950. And when we send the bill to LG they only reimbursed $290. This was very disappointing. To think that LG refrigerator only last about 5-6 years. That is a rip off. I'm a general contractor with many clients. I'll will never recommend this product to any people ever, they cheat you on their product,

Red flag, red flag, do not buy this refrigerator. They are a piece of junk in my opinion. We have had a smell issue with it. It contaminates all food. We are have put in new filters. We even put in a new rear back wall duct system which was $185. We've tried many, many things to stop the bad smell from returning. LG has been no help. We have even had the city come in and flush the main lines and thinking that we had gotten hold of some bad water, not the case, no other neighbors have any type of problem with the refrigerator smell.

I have contacted LG, basically from the beginning this refrigerator has been a bad one. If you could only taste the food that comes out after a very short time you would agree with us it's horrible, my opinion about this fridge stay away from LG products. They won't warranty. I tried getting them to do something about it from the beginning, went through the dealer that I bought it and they assured me it was just a small issue. Well it hasn't been. It's been awful experience with this fridge. Finally I called LG direct, guess what, my in warranty is out. I will never buy this product again. I was stupid for even thinking that we were going to get a good refrigerator. It is horrible, run like h.... from this product

For the last four days it was making weird loud noises and today it is dead. I had bought an extended warranty and now I am waiting for them to show up for diagnosis and repairs. The response from the warranty service company Allstat is not great. This is the fourth fridge I have owned in the last 45 years of home ownership and the first to die after 1.5 years. LG customer service set me up with a repair company, the ONLY one in the area (Delmarva area) who could do nothing for 3 weeks. LG assured me that they would cover it under warranty (it was less than 2 years old) but ultimately the part wasn't covered (I have an online chat saying it would be covered). It took 3 visits and 5 weeks to finally get the condenser fan replaced. After 2nd visit the repairman said to unplug it so I was a few of weeks with no refrigerator. I made over a dozen calls myself to find another repair company but nobody would work on a LG (or Samsung).

Updated on 08/28/2024: I wouldn’t really say our issue was resolved but they did give us a portion of our $400 service fee back. I feel they should have returned the entire amount. There was no way they could have helped us, so why should we pay anything. Everything else I wrote still stands.

Original Review: We bought an LG fridge eight years ago and it has been freezing the food in the fridge section for about a year, so we called to have a service person come to look at it. To me what happened next is unbelievable and unconscionable. I was told that our fridge is good in every way except that a sensor/chip had malfunctioned, so we said we would pay to have the chip replaced, only to be told they don’t make them anymore. Why would they not make a chip for a fridge that is only eight years old when the fridge is supposed to last years longer than that!

I researched the LG fridge and found that the issue of freezing food is a common one. Not only is a relatively new fridge now deemed useless, but we had to pay approximately $400 to have the service person come to tell us there was nothing he could do. We were out of luck. They also told us that they wouldn’t refund us the amount we paid for the service visit even though the service person said they no longer make the chip. We are out a fridge and $400. This company is not to be trusted. They treat their customers and the environment poorly. Another fridge is headed to the landfill. Stay clear and buy any other brand, just not this one.

I purchased my first LG refrigerator when I moved into my new home along with washer, dryer, stove, microwave, and dishwasher in 2018. Very happy with all items and with the quick fix of the dishwasher’s main board. The refrigerator was great for 5 years and then the compressor failed. Unfortunately I purchased another LG refrigerator thinking it was a fluke. This one lasted 11 months. But this time after 3 weeks of chat communication and waiting I was finally told they could not find anyone to service the unit which was under warranty. We live 3-4 hours away from service centers. I now own a different brand.

We have had the fridge now for just over a year and the issues are still not repaired. LG won’t replace the refrigerator under warranty until the fourth repair attempt and fail. My ice maker and freezer went out on my 3 1/2 year old refrigerator in June. After waiting a week for the scheduled appointment, the contractor never showed. When I contacted them, I was told that they had an emergency and had cancelled. Unfortunately, they never bothered to tell me so I had already waited at home throughout the entire five hour slot. Finally received a technician a few days later. He replaced both my compressor and ice maker.

Four weeks later my refrigerator went out again. I called customer service on a Saturday and was scheduled for repair on the following Friday. On Thursday I text the contractor to confirm my appointment. Nope. Not only can they not come tomorrow, but they are booked through next week as well. This is terrible customer service and obviously a lousy product as well as their customer service and support center. I will NEVER, EVER purchase ANYTHING LG ever again. LG did come and fix it at no cost however we are now just over the 5 year mark and the compressor has gone out again. I scheduled service for a Thursday with LG which they make you prepay over $500.00 for. The technician was at my house for literally 21 minutes. He replaced the compressor and said to give it 8-12 hours to cool the fridge. I got up the next morning which was Friday and the fridge temp was 75° even though it was set at 34°.

I called the service company and was told that he ran diagnostics after the service and nothing showed up. I also asked them to come back out to get it working again and they cannot come till the following Tuesday. That’s an additional 5 days without a refrigerator. This has not been a pleasant experience and I've got 2 more days before they come back. LG has known about these compressor issues for years and there are multiple lawsuits as a result yet still they use the same compressor in their product.

LG gets 1 star for building a piece of crap that initially looks ok to the consumer but has absolutely no backbone in terms of warranty coverage. My story is like others, bought an LG Refrigerator (Model LFXS26596S-01) on 8/20/2019. Delivered and put into service 8/22/2019. At roughly 2-years into service it quit making ice in the freezer. Not a big problem for us but truthfully the unit should last much longer. What really changed my feelings about this company and its appliance was when at 4-yrs 10-months of age it began to show a problem with proper cooling (ice cream melting, frozen items soft, etc.) and a request for service was made via LG.com portal.

What most frustrated me is discovering that LG had settled a class action suit 2-3 years prior, the suit related to defective sealed system/compressor, that LG continued to sell thus defective design post settlement and in the process of attempting to obtain warranty service LG absolutely gave me a complete run around with respect to my described issue, knowing it was the byproduct of the defective sealed system/compressor as evidenced by their text to my phone produced by onboard diagnostics and suggesting problem with that component. Instead of servicing my fridge, LG wasted hours of my time troubleshooting the fridge and arising from having no authorized service providers in my local (city of 400,000 population) willing to perform contract work for LG, ultimately failed to honor the labor component of its warranty.

My LG refrigerator is less than 10 years old, but they only warranty it for five years, except the condenser, which is 10 years. It’s a one unit piece so even when something else that is part of the condenser or main unit, they don’t cover that.

I had an appliance company that I had a maintenance contract with Tell me that my refrigerator was not repairable and LG should buy me a new one because it was a one unit piece. LG Sent out a repairman and he said it was a coil that was part of the condenser but still LG said they didn’t cover it so I paid for him to fix the icemaker and replace the coil. I lost over $1000 of food and paid him $700 plus in repairs. It didn’t work LG sent out another guy who told me what my guy had said. To begin with that it was unfixable and the LG should replace it for me, but they wouldn’t. The first guy that they sent out, didn’t give me a receipt of what I paid! We bought an LG model LF30S8210S.ASTCNA0, serial #308KRKSL3797 from Costco at the beginning of the year (six months ago). The unit was fine in the beginning but would shut itself off occasionally. That began within a month of buying the unit. I'd check the breaker and it was fine. I'd unplugged the fridge and plugged it back in and it would work. The fridge self powering down was happening more and more. Then one day it began to blow the breaker. I followed the instructions of the LG people and noted you could hear a sizzling sound from the plug when it was plugged in. That began in month three of ownership.

I called for service. Service number one happened and the guy told me it was my outlet. We called our electrician and they checked the wiring. This is a dedicated refrigerator circuit put in by these guys, one of the top electrical companies in our area. The electricians changed out the breaker and outlet at my request (and my cost). Result, the sizzling was still there and the circuit would blow. Service number. I received a board at my house and the LG techs showed up to replace it. They went through a litany of tests and called a senior tech at LG during the service call. It was on speaker phone and I could hear the whole thing. They couldn't figure it out and told me it was the electrical system in my building. I called the electricians back and they have no idea what LG is talking about. Everything looks and tests out perfectly.

At this point the fridge doesn't respond at all even with the new board and LG is insisting it's my building's fault. I'm in the middle of round three and I'm getting texts requesting all the information they already have. This is a run a round and it gotten old. The issue is LG has clearly put in a crap power supply but is trying to blame me for their failed product engineering. At this point I don't know if I'm just stuck with this boat anchor and out the money or what but it's been a very negative experience for my family and myself. DON'T BUY ANYTHING FROM LG. I also recommend dumping Costco, they no longer stand behind what they sell.

Best Buy only charges $149.99 for the labor cost to replace the compressors in their other brands, but unfortunately, the LG Compressors have to be done by an LG Authorized Repair Service, which by the way, charges the same cost because of LG. I called LG and they replaced the compressor for free. I placed a thermometer in fridge as a precaution. Temps stayed good for a few months with settings for cooling placed halfway to high. I began noticing the temp creeping up to between 39F and 41F so I placed settings too high. This kept the temp between 34F to 39F. Recently the temp range went up to 37F to 41F. Today I watched it go to 43F to 45F... currently at 46F. I suspect the less than 1 yr old compressor is failing. I purchased the three year extended warranty because I had no faith in their compressors after 1st experience. I'm heading out to buy some ice for the cooler. LG tech coming over in 5 days. I have no faith that any fix will last long term. Really regret this purchase! Steer clear!

I’m not sure how long ago I bought mine but my old refrigerator held up beautifully. My LG keeps having pieces of plastic breaking off all over in place. Tonight while making dinner one of the shelves on the door fell off on the floor and broke a beer all over my kitchen floor. After cleaning up the mess, I noticed it put a dent on the front of my freezer. I didn’t even take anything off this shelf when it happened but I noticed a piece of plastic on the floor. I keep finding this type of pieces of plastic since I’ve had it. Obviously, the plastic isn’t strong enough to be used on a refrigerator. Now I’m concerned about using this shelf.

We purchased our French door LG refrigerator (LFDS225020S) 10 months ago. The linear compressor went out 3 weeks ago and has been deemed unrepairable. We were unaware that this is a common problem with LG refrigerators (there was actually a lawsuit brought against LG that settled in 2020, and another suit is currently pending due to fraud). We have been without a refrigerator for the last 3 weeks and have been getting the run around from LG. First they lost my repair request, so we had to start over. We've talked to a different rep everytime we call and get a different answer and promise that the next rep nullifies. When the servicer indicated the unit was not repairable (and had been here twice already), LG wanted them to return to try something different, which included cutting open the refrigerator. I was told if the servicer could not return by day 16 (04/03/2024), they would refund the cost of the refrigerator.

I also learned today that they have yet to contact the servicer to inform them of this next step. Today when I called LG, our case was escalated to the LG Presidential Liaison who said she will call me back on Friday after she receives a copy of my receipt from the store where we bought the unit. Dealing with LG customer service has been a nightmare. Their communication is extremely poor (even with the servicer). They do not follow up on promises made, and they are unyielding related to the hoops they want you to jump through. If you insist on purchasing this refrigerator, please do thorough research. LG continues to sell these refrigerators knowing full well that the linear compressor will most likely fail (that's what the second lawsuit is claiming). Save your time, money, food and patience ... Go with a different brand. FYI, Kenmore has the same compressor problems as LG makes Kenmores.

We finally had to buy a new one. We bought a much cheaper Samsung that according to everything I have read has all of the same problems. $1600 for a 5 year fridge is easier to deal with than a $3500 fridge. Was a big fan of LG, so all my home appliances were from them, but recently, around 5 years into ownership, both my fridge and dishwasher failed and needed to be fixed by a technician. Thank goodness I was still in LG's flat price program, as the technicians came in total 3 times, twice to fix the fridge and once to fix the motor of the dishwasher. Another complaint that I realized during this process is that, even if LG gives you that 10 year warranty on the direct drive motor or what not during marketing, you won't know what is wrong until a technician is called. So even if it was under warranty, you would logically just pay the flat fee because you have no idea if it's the part that is under warranty that is causing you issues and they don't reimburse you afterwards when they find out it is indeed because of the part under warranty.

I am writing to lodge a formal complaint regarding the substandard quality of the LG refrigerator I purchased less than a year ago, as well as the appalling level of customer service I have experienced throughout this ordeal. LG refrigerator malfunctioned within a year of purchase, leaving me without essential refrigeration for perishable goods. Upon contacting LG customer service, I was advised to defrost the refrigerator for eight hours as a potential solution to the issue. Despite adhering to this instruction meticulously, the refrigerator remained inoperable.

Following my subsequent contact with customer service, a technician was dispatched to assess the problem. Upon inspection, the technician confirmed that the fan was indeed broken. While I appreciate the technician's prompt attention to the issue, the repair was not completed until the following day, resulting in a total downtime of four days.

The inconvenience and financial losses incurred during this period were exacerbated by the dismissive and unsympathetic response I received when seeking compensation for the food items I had to discard due to the refrigerator malfunction. When I contacted customer service to request a rebate for the spoiled food, I was met with incredulity and resistance. The representative even went as far as to question whether I had a spare refrigerator in my household, implying that I should have been prepared for such an eventuality.

Furthermore, the customer service representative attempted to diminish my valid claim for compensation by arguing that the repair was completed within three days and therefore, I was not entitled to reimbursement for food spoilage. This arbitrary and illogical reasoning is entirely unacceptable. It is evident that the refrigerator malfunction caused significant inconvenience and financial loss, regardless of the precise duration of the repair process. The lack of accountability and empathy demonstrated by LG's customer service team is unacceptable and does not align with the standards of customer care expected from a reputable company.

Worse still, we let them know exactly how much food we had to throw out due to food being wasted (and continue to do so given the malfunctioning fridge), and they barely refunded us 0.01% of the cost of the food items gone to waste. We've had several hours of conversation with them - on an average about 2-3 hours per day for the last 3 weeks and various people from the Department respond with zero continuity (you have to explain everything from scratch every time you talk to them).

Customer service goes around in circles, does not put anything down in writing - what's worse? They refuse to acknowledge that there is still very much an issue with LG Refrigerators and are downright extremely rude. Never again will I purchase an LG product again. I spoke to a representative to try and get it fixed and besides not speaking very good English she kept me on the phone over 30 minutes speaking to other associates on what to do. Finally, I suggested I would find and call an authorized dealer in my area myself. When I did is when I found an appliance person that told me he could replace the compressor at no charge because it was still under warranty. WOW! A 2014 LG double-door refrigerator with water/ice dispenser in the door was professionally moved from one house to another. While the appliance company movers were installing the fridge, something went amiss with the water line. A leak was noticed and they said that it would be no problem to order just a new water line to make the repair. On the repeat visit, the technician was unable to thread the waterline through the door, saying that LG fridge doors have some kind of foam insulation in them that makes it impossible to just replace a water line, but now an entire door was needed (part cost at $650).

So, we gave the go-ahead for the appliance company to order the part. When they came to install, they had the WRONG part! They had a door from LG, but there were no 'guts' inside it! The manager of the appliance company had to do some detective work to figure out who was responsible for ordering the wrong part. It appears that it was LG. That's when they informed us that the part was 'on backorder' at the factory, with an estimated delivery time of about 4 to 8 weeks.

We were surprised to learn that the door arrived in less than 8 weeks, and asked the appliance company to examine the door BEFORE they come out to install. We are sure glad that we made that request! LG sent the WRONG door again! Again it was another door WITHOUT all the working parts inside! The manager at the appliance company has tried to interest us in buying a similar model used LG fridge, because it sounds like they may have concern as to whether they will even succeed at receiving the proper part to make the repair! Refrigerators should last better than a measly 9-1/2 years (the waterline busted in 2023) and something so simple as a waterline should be able to be replaced WITHOUT needing an an entire door! I HAVE ZERO CONFIDENCE IN LG PRODUCTS over this experience.

In fact, this process was more than 3 weeks long and as of this writing is still ongoing.

The credits toward a new LG they offered were of what appeared to be of greater value than the refund. They also made the credits option seem to be much easier and faster than the refund. I should add that the credits option required that I use the LG online store. For these reasons I foolishly opted to buy another LG from the online store.

After selecting the model fridge that I wanted I was given a delivery date, no time or window just a date. Guess what, no fridge! I called their support team and was told that the date had been changed to 4 days later. I received no call no email no nothing. If I had not contacted them no one would have told me that the fridge was to come 4 days late. LG did not take responsibility for this but blamed their contract delivery service.

I contacted their delivery service and they blamed LG telling me that the fridge had not been made available to them to deliver. You can guess who I blame.
