I’d love to give Auto Advantage 5 stars. Unexpectedly, we lost the engine to our car and quickly found Auto Advantage. Their staff came to our home and advised us well when we were trying to decide between the 2 cars my husband test drove. We bought a car there 3 days after we’d lost our car and all seemed well. However, on his way out just now to see his daughter - a one-day surprise visit with her new baby and a 3-hour drive.

After hustling to get on the road, with very limited time to spend with her (and be back the day after tomorrow to take me in for surgery) he walked back in the door and said the car we’d just bought less than 3 weeks ago wouldn’t start. He walked the mile to Auto Advantage and was told “It’s probably the battery.” That was it! He’s walking now to Walmart to buy a new battery and have it installed. I’m not sure (he’s in such a hurry) if he told the people at Auto Advantage the circumstances which I’ve described. But it shouldn’t have mattered. I asked my husband if it’s possible that he left the lights on or could have caused the battery to die. He said “No way on Earth.” He’s 75 years old, was very excited about seeing his daughter and right now, doesn’t have the time or energy to lose his temper. But I’m losing mine.

I ask: Does Auto Advantage really believe that, after under 3 weeks' time, a battery (a simple part, likely a negligible expense to them) replacement and an apology isn’t the best (and expected) business practice? Are we valued customers to them? Do they understand that we have many friends here whom we’d refer to them? I say now that their response tells us no. We’re not valued customers to them. And we will let our friends about this experience. I certainly will, when they ask if my husband reached his destination safely and we send them photos of his new granddaughter tonight. This experience will preface all of the details we’ll share with them.
