I never thought I would be writing something like this about Samsung. This isn't coming from someone who bought one Samsung product, had a bad experience, and decided to complain. Over the years, Samsung earned my trust to the point that I started replacing products throughout my home with Samsung products. TVs, appliances, electronics — when I needed something new, Samsung became one of the first brands I looked at.

Ironically, one of the least expensive Samsung products I've purchased — a $314.99 television — is the purchase that has completely destroyed my confidence in the company. The TV was sold to me as new. When it arrived, it was in oversized/generic or resealed-looking packaging rather than the original retail packaging, and parts/accessories were missing.

I reported the problem and requested something extremely simple: Take the television back and refund my $314.99. That request has turned into months of case numbers, escalations, investigations, promises, and broken promises. And I have kept the receipts and emails. On September 14, Samsung Executive Customer Relations contacted me regarding Case #**. Samsung acknowledged in writing that I was requesting a prepaid pickup or return label and a full $314.99 refund. September 17: Samsung told me the case remained under “active review.” September 22: Still under “active review.” Samsung said it was waiting for information concerning the return authorization, shipping arrangements, exception review, and refund eligibility. Then came September 28.

Samsung told me: “Based on the information currently available, we have completed our review and no further action is pending at this time. As a result, your case will be closed.” Their email actually stated: “Case Status: Closed” “Action Taken: Final review completed and case closed based on the information available at this time.” There was one major problem. Nothing had been resolved. No return label. No pickup. No refund. And no meaningful explanation of what their supposed “final review” determined. I immediately responded asking what was next because I still wanted my refund and the television removed from my property. I eventually filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau because I couldn't get this resolved through Samsung. But it didn't end there.

On October 13, I spoke with Alex from Samsung's Escalation Team. For the first time in a while, I genuinely felt like I had reached someone who cared and was going to take ownership of the situation. Alex followed up in writing. He confirmed that he had resurfaced two of my previous cases regarding the return-label request and told me the matter was being placed on a “Prioritized List” for timely updates. He also gave me another case number.

During our conversation, Alex personally assured me that he would call me back. I believed him. The call never came. Another broken promise. And after all of this, I'm once again being told Samsung is “still investigating.” At this point, I have to ask: How many investigations does a company need to conduct to send a customer a return label for a $314.99 television? That's why this isn't about $314.99 anymore. It's about trust. I started out buying LG products. After positive experiences with Samsung, Samsung earned enough of my confidence that I began replacing products throughout my home with their brand. Samsung earned that loyalty over years. This experience destroyed it.

I have my purchase receipt. I have photographs of how the television arrived. I have Samsung's emails. I have the case history. I have the Executive Customer Relations correspondence. I have documentation showing Samsung closed the case without providing the requested return or refund. And I have the later escalation showing Samsung subsequently continued working on essentially the same unresolved problem. I'm sharing my experience publicly because other consumers deserve to know what my experience with Samsung customer service has been. People can look at the documentation and decide for themselves. I'm not asking Samsung for free products. I'm not asking for store credit. I'm not asking for special treatment. I want Samsung to take back the television and refund the $314.99 I paid. That's it.

After years of choosing Samsung products for my home, I never imagined a $314.99 television would be the product that ended that relationship. But after this experience, I no longer trust Samsung enough to make another purchase. Samsung didn't lose me over $314.99. Samsung lost me because of how they treated me while I was trying to resolve it.

    — McAllan **

Don’t like the new controls, they’re smaller and not easy to work until you read up on it. Never had to read up on how to use controls before. Amazing thing is that my old controls which are easier and larger work with the new TV. Very impressed with that.

This is concerning the Samsung broadcast, that's included with the television. They always have the volume of the show that you're watching down low, and then when the commercials come on, they are 30 to 35 dB higher than the show you were just watching. It causes you to turn off Samsung broadcast and use another streaming source.

I purchased a Samsung 83" S90D OLED TV (model QN83S90DAEXZA) from Best Buy for approximately $3,299. After only about 18 months of normal household use, the television completely failed and will no longer turn on. Best Buy's Geek Squad examined the TV and told me that the television was bad and not repairable. I then contacted Samsung hoping that the company would stand behind a premium television that failed after such a short period of time.

Samsung declined to provide any assistance because the TV was outside its one-year warranty. I was also told that because the television had been examined by Geek Squad, which Samsung said was not an authorized Samsung third-party service provider, Samsung would do nothing. I understand that the written warranty is one year. However, I do not believe it is reasonable for a $3,299 premium television to become unusable after only 18 months. I expected considerably better product reliability and customer support from Samsung.

I have purchased expensive electronics for many years and generally have not purchased extended warranties because I expect a premium product from a major manufacturer to last substantially longer than 18 months. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this Samsung television. Before spending several thousand dollars on a premium Samsung TV, buyers should understand that if it fails shortly after the one-year warranty expires, they may be left with an expensive television that cannot be repaired and little assistance from the manufacturer.

If you are considering buying a Samsung TV, be warned that their warranty service is a logistical nightmare. My model QN77S95FDFXZA broke back in June while well within its warranty period. Samsung openly admitted they do not have an authorized repair person available in my geographic area. Their solution was to have a logistics company pick up the TV. This company has now canceled the scheduled pickup on me twice—both times calling less than 24 hours before to tell me they weren't coming.

I have spent hours on the phone with customer support. I sent a formal escalation through the Samsung online CEO portal, which went completely unanswered. Now, customer service claims they are "escalating" it again with a promise to call back by Friday. Samsung is holding my warranty claim hostage because of their own broken third-party shipping network. I am demanding a full refund or an advance swap. Buy from a manufacturer that actually has the infrastructure to support its customers.

There is no actual customer service - all goes around in impossible circles, codes don't work, texts they said would arrive don't. I've been locked out of the old account I had with them years ago, and after 24 hours of trying to get help this time, going in circles on their online options.

Their ridiculous phone menu and with actual operators, this last attempt involved getting an operator who said changing the old, blocked account information involves being put through a bunch of instruction on the TV menu itself (they want you to sign in to program the TV....., but this can't be done if the account isn't working....), then going to my computer while still on the phone, texting back and forth, letting their operator "look at my computer" on a VIDEO CALL, and then going back to the TV to do more work - absolute madness. We had trouble with a refrigerator years ago and there was no one who would work on them locally. Their customer service is impossibly convoluted and I'm unwilling to put more time into this - will send the gift TV back, if possible.

We replaced this with an older Samsung 65" so we were somewhat familiar with the set up and menu, wrong, it had all changed. The pros, outstanding PICTURE, very deep colors, sharp and clean. It keeps up with the show from our old black & whites to the newest movies it has never skipped or lagged, I think it is called scaling. For the money, it has a great picture. SOUND, this unit has the very best sound of any TVs. In the menu they offer amplified sound, it works GREAT, we used to struggle to hear shows (we are in our late 60s) but the sound quality is outstanding. VALUE, we purchased at SAM'S with a free 5 year extended warranty all for 704.69 CONS, the APPS menu sucks, it took us a while to figure it out, the best way is to watch a YOU TUBE video.

The remote is so small, too small for my man hands, I had a remote from our last unit that works great for me while my wife uses the tiny remote. The stand sucks, we don't hang or mount our TV, the stand is built in the center instead of legs in each corner, we managed to make it work, not a deal breaker. WIFI or Ethernet, it has a problem, while streaming it will just for no reason switch back to DIRECTV, even when the Directv was not turned on. We figured a way to get by that, it streams perfectly only if there is something plugged in and turned on to an HDMI slot, trust me we tried everything to troubleshoot the problem, this was the only way it works for us. APP set up is not friendly but once figured out works great. All in all, we love it.

When we return, and turn on the tv, it’s as though we are turning the tv on for the first time. Our initial setup is completely gone, requiring a new setup from the beginning. By the way, whoever thought the minimalist remote is a good idea should at least have made it intuitive.

Have 65” flat screen tv that is just two years old and was still under warranty when I reported issues with the sound going out. They did have a repairman come to my house and replace the speakers and main board. When this didn’t resolve the problem, they said there was nothing wrong with the tv and blamed Comcast. Comcast has been to my house six times and made changes and replaced box three times. Problem is still there. Now Samsung won’t return calls to me. Actually, yesterday I called their 800 number SIX times and was disconnected each time. So I tricked the system by saying it was a new issue. Was told someone would get back to me. I am not holding my breath!

My expensive Samsung television gave me the black screen of death loop. I tried all the online fixes as well as went through the diagnostic process with Customer Service. When they realized that this wasn't my fault, the best they offered as a make-good was to schedule a technician to take a look at it (at my expense) or to offer free shipping on another product from them. In short, they made no legitimate effort to make things right despite telling them that I had spent thousands of dollars on Samsung products in the past and would never buy anything Samsung again. They didn't care, and now Samsung will lose a customer forever.

One of the worst service in Bengaluru. It has been 24 hours since we have complained but we didn't get any service from them and the worker is not even attending our calls.

I’ve never had an issue with my TV and its function, but navigating the menu and apps is infuriating. It feels like a chore turning on the TV show I would like to watch.
