I had my Jeep Patriot passenger window replaced by Safelite employee Eric, it was excellent service. Everything was done properly and with care. Professional & courteous, and a great job completed, along with a tricky jeep door handled without a hitch. Was looking for a place to write a review, I hope this is seen! Recommend this service. Safelite Auto Glass replaced my windshield today. The location of the shop is in Appleton, Wisconsin. The technician came to my home to replace my windshield. The technician’s name is Gage. He let me know, based on when he finished the job before me, he gave me the minutes before he would arrive at my home. This was very helpful. Gage was very professional. He was very skilled with doing this service on my car at home. He was friendly and knowledgeable. I can’t say enough good things about Safelite Auto Glass!!!

Guy comes to my house to replace a shattered rear hatch window on a Lexus RX. He installs the new glass and I can see that black plastic moldings are missing at the bottom of the new glass. He swears nothing is missing. It’s obvious that water will get into the hatch at the bottom of the glass the way he left the car. He removed the factory molding that goes all around the glass and didn’t bring a new one for the bottom. Tech was stupid and rude and I sent him away. Had to have the whole job redone by the Lexus dealer. Never paid Safelite and would NEVER use these amateurs again.

They knew for 2+ weeks about my appointment and yet never called. Emailed nothing just confirmed it and then waited till 12 hours before my appointment to cancel.

We had a side window in our truck broken by a rock while traveling to a horse show. The good thing was that there was a Safelite dealer nearby and we could get an appointment in just a couple of days to have it replaced. The bad things were that those lost one of the mats in the truck and refused to replace it. I contacted Customer Service and they said the dealer said they didn't lose it but they would have them call me to discuss. They never did. I am absolutely certain they took the mat out to sweep up broken glass and missed putting it back. I clean the truck before each show so I know it was there when I took it and was not when I got it back. We're only talking about $25 to replace which was 5% of what I spent but they refused to address it. My other concern was that they seemed pretty expensive but I was desperate and glad to find someone that would replace it right away.

I started off with a small chip in my windshield when I explained to the tech that I did not want to take a gamble on breaking it even more they assured me that there was no Gamble and it wouldn't cost me anything if anything happened. Once I got my car back there was a large crack in my windshield. I told them I needed it replaced and they told me it was going to cost me over $800 to get it done. I explained to them that the tech told me it wouldn't cost me anything and they said that was my miscommunication. I spoke to a manager who said they would contact customer service and get something taken care of for me. I called over 10 times and never got any help and it took them 2 months to finally give me a refund for my money.

Repair staff was timely and pleasant to deal with; however, the issues is in the deceptive trade of their price quotes. They quoted a price of $359 for our windshield when the appointment was made yet the repairman indicated a $40 increase to that price plus tax for "recycling" regardless of whether they recycle or not. This is deceptive trade. Next time, we use local.

Month ago got a rock into my windshield. Scheduled home appt through Safelite website. First appt failed due to crack in aftermarket glass which was shipped to the company. Next week the technician showed up and informed me that aftermarket glass will not for my car (2025 Toyota 4runner Platinum) because it need high end glass with some specific sensors. Rescheduled for another week. For this visit the technician did not call and did not show. I called their customer service demanding explanations. Got rescheduled again for one week with my demand to be first customer of the day because of prior arrangements with appt somewhere else at 11:30 AM.

If technician would show up between 8 and 9 am I would in time for my appt. Obviously nobody showed up until 10 am. Customer service rep said that there was no request to be serviced as first customer of the day. So, one month passed and crack in windshield is expanding. Take a wild guess if I ever be bringing my business to SafeLite.

Safelite replaced the windshield on my 2024 Ram 2500. The truck immediately started leaking. No local shop could be found, no phone number, just a national number that would disconnect after a 15 minute wait. I finally went to complaint center and got a tech to come out. He looked at the window and within minutes said it’s not the window, it’s the truck. You need to go to the dealership. So I did, and they fixed the worst leak on the drivers side by resealing the window. Passenger side still leaking.

Complaint department put me in touch with a shop that was 40 miles from my house. Shop manager said the warranty was voided and that I should have given the shop a chance to repair it first. I ask how many chances should I give you before I take it somewhere else, no answer. Now shop manager will not reimburse me for expenses I have to get the window to stop leaking. And that does not cover the carpet that is ruined. I highly encourage anyone who needs a windshield to stay away from Safelite.

Do not do service with this company. I had to reschedule three times with them. First due to incliment weather and it was sunshine and rainbows not a cloud in sight. Hours of my day wasted. So I decided to drive 30 miles out of my way to lithia springs location on my day off- im a nurse, and those days off come sparingly. I get to the shop and I’m sitting there for about 15 minutes before someone even greets me to break the bad news that they do not have the correct glass in shop. So an hour and a half in the car, time wasted, gas wasted, which isn’t cheap. They reschedule me to a mobile app two days later. They never tell me that the glass that’s needed for my car is going to be an additional 377 bucks on top of the 508 I’ve already paid. So today, I wait around from 12-3 finally a union city technician comes. Tells me I still owe 377.

I told him I called 1800 8514527 to clarify that I’m paid in full- the customer service line indeed says I do not owe additional. They technician and their manager or shop lead- Alexis- says they can’t do the work unless I pay the 377. I say absolutely not, and I need a managers number. I will be telling all of my friends and family to use local business and to never use Safelite again. They wasted three of my off days, and I had the absolute worst customer service I’ve ever experienced in my life. And now I have to still deal with having a broken windshield until I figure out where to do service with. It certainly won’t be here.

Horrible experience! I will never use them again. The technician came out and after being in my car for 15-20 minutes he informed me my camera cover was broken. It wasn't broken in the morning when I went to work, yesterday when I had passengers, or when I drove home. Amazingly when he bagan to take pictures 20 mins after arriving it was hanging 2 inches off my windshield. I live in the country with bumpy roads and somehow the two little clips that were broken were still there and I never heard the cover rattle once. The technician broke the clips to my camera cover and Safelite refused to fix the issue. Now I am searching for where to buy the part they broke. Save yourselves the time and trouble and use someone else. It has been a nightmare experience.

I will never use Safelite again and I caution anyone else that use them. The initial contact is commendable where they’ll get the job done however, if there’s an issue that happens relative to the windshield, they will not honor the warranty. They’ll give you a bunch of reasons why they won’t honor the warranty. I know that the technician caused a slight crack when putting in the windshield. I saw the result of a tiny line coming from the edge of the windshield. I went back to let them know, and they said it was a rock. I know it was not a rock in the edge of my windshield and that it was their technician. They were not there.

The technician came to my home. They refused to honor the warranty. So they’ll get the job done, but you can forget the warranty. They will not honor that warranty. They’ll give you a lot of reasons why they won’t. So I caution anyone that uses them at all. I’ve uploaded a picture which was the Manager’s reason for saying the warranty was null and void.

1/5 -- Complete No-Show. Zero Accountability. I scheduled an appointment with Safelite in Santa Maria, CA and took time out of my day to be available -- and they simply never showed up. No call. No text. No attempt to reschedule or even acknowledge that they had failed to meet a basic professional obligation. This isn't a minor inconvenience. This is a fundamental breakdown in customer service. When a company books your time, the bare minimum expectation is that they show up -- or at the very least, pick up the phone and let you know they won't be. Safelite couldn't manage either.

I had to find out on my own that my appointment had evaporated into thin air. No apology. No explanation. No accountability whatsoever. If your time has any value to you, I strongly urge you to look elsewhere. There are independent auto glass shops in the Santa Maria area that actually respect their customers. Safelite's size apparently hasn't translated into reliability or basic courtesy -- just the confidence that they can waste your entire day without consequence. Save yourself the frustration. Go somewhere that actually shows up.

I've used Safelite 3 times now. First time they damaged the paint, adaptive cruise control module (they literally ripped the wiring from the unit and they paid the dealership over $1K to repair), and the rain-sensing wipers never functioned after that. Second time was for a simple repair - no issues. Third time was at a Safelite location for a 2 inch diameter starburst repair. I drove 20+ miles to the appointment w/o worsening the damage. Tech drove car to the bay, and 20 minutes later brought it back out with a foot long crack and claimed "it just happened on its own." Now I need to replace the windshield. DO NOT USE SAFELITE. It took 5 visits at 2 separate locations to get a back glass that didn't have massive distortion on my 2014 Mazda3. I settled for one that still has distortion in my line of sight, but I'm so defeated that I don't even want to see if they can do better. They broke the cover to my rearview mirror/sensors and had to replace it. They broke the gasket around the rear wiper and water was leaking in, and their solution was glue and tape. I paid out of pocket. I'm probably $1,600 all in including gas and Ubers. No discount, no nada. Just defeat and acceptance. I will gladly pay the steep prices at the dealership next time, and will NEVER USE SAFELITE AGAIN.

I am extremely disappointed with my experience with Safelite. The biggest issue has been the complete lack of customer service and inability to speak with a real person. Everything is handled through automated systems and robots, which became incredibly frustrating when trying to resolve a legitimate problem. Even after finding the direct phone number to the local shop performing the work, nobody would answer the phone. I ultimately had to drive there at my own expense just to speak with an actual person about my issue.

To be fair, the young lady behind the counter was very nice and professional. She asked me if it was okay to replace my Chevy windshield with a GMC windshield, and I told her that was fine as long as it was an OEM windshield. The technician who performed the installation was also very nice and did an excellent job with the installation itself.

However, the windshield that was installed was NOT an OEM windshield as discussed. The Safelite employee told me I would be able to identify it as a GMC windshield because it would have GMC markings on it. There are no GMC markings anywhere on the windshield, and now the heads-up display appears slightly distorted. I contacted the technician afterward, and he said he was unaware of the OEM/OEE mix-up and gave me his supervisor’s number. Unfortunately, calling that number only led to more automated systems and robots. I have tried at least a dozen times to contact a supervisor with absolutely no success.

At this point, there has been no progress toward resolving the issue. I even scheduled another warranty appointment online since speaking to a real person was impossible, but Safelite later canceled the appointment because of the confusion surrounding the OEM vs. OEE windshield dispute. Safelite will not answer my calls or return my messages. While the local employees I dealt with in person were polite and professional, the company’s overall customer service and communication system are terrible. When customers have a problem, they should be able to reach a real person who can actually help.

I call, get the same AI bot in voice and after 15 minutes, I finally get to a human who says that "I, as in the customer, cancelled the appointment" and all she can do is make a new one. I escalate and get in touch with the CSR actually at the office that is supposed to do the work and she say the same thing. I escalate again and actually get to the manager who simply says "Sorry, the crack was too big and we cancelled your appointment". WOW — BUYER BEWARE. I truly wish I had checked reviews before hiring this company to replace my shattered windshield. The technician replaced the glass at my home, and right away I noticed something was off — the windshield looked noticeably brighter. I questioned it on the spot and was assured it was a genuine VW part. Fast‑forward to summer, and we were baking in the car. I called Safelite and was again told it was a VW replacement, so I trusted what I was told. Only recently, when I took the vehicle to VW, the manager informed me that Safelite had installed an aftermarket windshield — not an OEM part. That was the first honest answer I received.

Today I called Safelite in Palm Harbor, Florida, and spoke with an assistant manager who told me, very bluntly, that “insurance companies don’t cover OEM.” Not only was this never disclosed to me, but I was made to believe I was getting an apples‑to‑apples replacement. Instead, I was given a second‑rate part without my knowledge or consent. To make matters worse, the assistant manager was rude, dismissive, and refused to give his name. His attitude alone was enough to convince me this company has no interest in making things right. At the very least, I should have been informed of the change and given the option to choose an OEM windshield. Please do not get duped like I did. Read the reviews before you hire this company. I certainly wish I had.
