2 trips to the facility in St Louis. Never had the correct windshield for my 2025 QX80. They said that they don’t have an entry in their system for my model. Horrible service. Don’t bother. No one seems to care at their facility.

I had an extremely poor experience with Safelite AutoGlass and would not recommend them. I brought my 2022 Audi Q5 in for a windshield replacement, and the entire process was a mess from start to finish. The first visit took 5 hours, and they installed aftermarket glass that they couldn’t even properly recalibrate. I was then told I had to come back again. On my second visit, they kept my car for 7 hours to install OEM glass—and still failed to recalibrate it correctly. To make matters worse, my vehicle now has two malfunctions that were not present before they worked on it.
When I raised concerns, the manager was dismissive, unprofessional, and even accusatory—claiming the issues were already there, which is simply not true. Instead of taking accountability, they brushed off the problem entirely. When I filed my complaint with the BBB, the local office stated that the calibration was completed satisfactorily. However, their own diagnostic scan clearly shows that the calibration was not successful. Now I’m stuck paying around $600 out of pocket to have the dealership fix and properly recalibrate what they should have done in the first place. This experience was a huge waste of time and money, and the lack of professionalism and accountability is unacceptable. I strongly recommend going elsewhere.

Our company has a Commercial account. We have to call with every invoice to pay them, even though they have our CC on file. They will not do terms, which is fine, but they make nothing efficient. They list a number, 800-835-2257, for customer service. Call it & a recording states to call back during business hours. I called at 3pm eastern. They state in the recoding that they are open until 4pm eastern. This has happened several times this year when trying to pay. This company is not for Fleet, it's for Johnny Homeowner. Safelite has yet to figure out how to work with companies that have Fleets. Go to the competitor, or even a dealer before dealing with these folks.

Unable to contact a live person to cancel appointment due to weather conditions. Automated messages do not give you the option except to say you should have a link in the appointment confirmation email. There is no link. I called another company, got a live person immediately, and it is less expensive.

Hey Safelite, thank you for not allowing me to speak to a live person. I immediately dialed another company and got quality care and somebody to talk to personally. You can go pound sand with your automated system! I will never utilize your facility and our services again. Take care and appreciate all the lack of effort to lose another customer.

Two months after the install of my windshield my rear view mirror fell of taking glass with it. They show up to replace under warranty and tell me it was hit by something and they will not replace it. I have replaced windshields in the past and this exact damage is usually caused by over tightening the rear view mirror set screw. Horrible company to deal with. Don’t use them. Their warranty is a scam.

Reached out Safelite to repair a tiny chip on my front windshield and they ended it up making it worst. Now they are telling me that I have to replace my windshield at my own cost!! Worst customer service ever and rude. Not willing to take responsibility for their actions.

Safelite, replaced my window on my truck. A month ago, the tech broke my rainguard. Said they would order me a new one, and didn't. The tech either didn't align the window properly on install or didn't clean the glass. Add up the track regulator when I went to. Roll it down, it popped out of the track. Again, either from misalignment on install, apart from not cleaning the track out properly. Tech came back, said they order it new track and install it. Haven't heard nothing for a month. I've called him several times. They're supposed to call me back and they don't. I call back again? Talk to somebody higher up and they say, that's my issue. I need to purchase the track myself. Terrible to deal with the track was fine before the install. Now they won't rectify it.

This is not just a bad experience—this is negligence. In June 2025, I had a minor windshield chip on my 2022 Ford Mustang Mach-E and went through my insurance, USAA, who directed me to Safelite AutoGlass. What should have been a simple repair turned into a long-term safety issue due to Safelite’s workmanship.
After the repair, my vehicle began displaying persistent Pre-Collision Assist warnings. At the time, there was no obvious reason to connect this to the windshield repair. Months later, after taking the vehicle to Ford for proper diagnostics, the root cause was identified: Safelite damaged and ripped wiring connected to the windshield heater sensor during the repair. This is not cosmetic damage—this directly affects:
Windshield defrost/condensation functionalitySensor reliability
Vehicle safety systems, including Pre-Collision Assist
This means Safelite’s actions potentially compromised the safety of my vehicle for months. After discovering this, I contacted USAA again and was routed back to Safelite to correct their mistake. An appointment was scheduled under the premise that they would “make it right.” Instead, a technician arrived only to take photos and perform a superficial inspection—no repair was attempted.
Even worse, I later received a message falsely stating that the recalibration had been completed successfully. This is inaccurate and misleading. The issue was never recalibration—the windshield requires replacement and the damaged wiring must be repaired. Safelite is now refusing to take proper responsibility, leaving me with:
A damaged windshield systemCompromised vehicle safety features
No resolution unless the glass is damaged again
That is completely unacceptable. At this point, I am formally documenting this situation as negligent workmanship and failure to correct a known issue. I expect full accountability, including proper repair of all damages caused during the initial service. I strongly advise anyone considering Safelite to proceed with extreme caution. If something goes wrong, do not expect them to take ownership or resolve the issue properly.

I am writing to express my extreme disappointment in the service I received at Safelite Autoglass at 526 Anacapa in Santa Barbara CA. The windshield installation was poorly handled—the installer failed to clean out old sealant, leaving the installation unnecessarily messy, and also failed to re-install the rearview mirror - then questioned whether I even needed a mirror. I regret paying the bill before inspecting the work. No one in the store expressed any interest in customer service. I had to have another shop properly install the mirror and only looked for their reviews after the service. I discovered that their 1.4 star rating is well deserved. I’m not sure how low it needs to go before they run out of business, but the sooner the better! I strongly recommend others to avoid this company.

Do not even bother with their so called excellent service. I booked an appt three weeks ago and on the day they were supposed to come thru called and said the glass was not on the truck? So they rescheduled me the following week and then they called same day again! However this time it was the technician was sick so third apt was today from 8 -12 and at 11:00 they called to say the glass was not available again. I took three days off to be home to get my glass replaced. Don’t trust a word they say!

Setup an appointment for 03/13/2026 but they had to overbooked and had to reschedule me. Rescheduled for 12:00 to 5:00 PM on 03/17/2026, they were a no show leaving me doing nothing for the day. I did call the number back they left me in case I had any questions, it wasn't answered either time I called. They only have high reviews on their site, every other site gives them poor reviews, should have done the research before all of this.

They need to be taught a big financial lesson, because ethics has long left the building. Thieves. Mobile appt. for my young adult daughter. Whether the crack ended up being filled or the windshield was replaced, it should have been fully paid by insurance. The tech double talked and confused her, fixed nothing, she then got nervous being there with this guy and wanted the appt to end, and he "gave her a discount" and had her send $80 to his Venmo. Fraud. Liar.
SafeLite got involved but ended up a complete failure of a company, the failure liar thief manager got involved who was clearly *clearly* complicit because he hoped I'd go away and never got back to me or my daughter. SafeLite never tried to make things right and only begrudgingly refunded her $80 because I didn't let up. Failure of a company. Patronize the small businesses... There's other choices...SafeLite needs to be out more than $80. Trash company. I've told dozens of people who will also tell dozens.

The WORST customer service and overall management. I was told my windshield was IN STOCK! We scheduled a date - 3 times!!! and they cancelled the night before. 3 TIMES!!! I could not get an answer from anyone about where the part was? Was it available? Was it in the warehouse? I then called twice the part distribution center, 2 different women who sounded as if they might have cared; on the second call - after 3 cancellations and not the courtesy of a call back, the alleged supervisor told me the order was cancelled. No one told me that. No names.. Someone blamed a Shannon.. but this LEADER couldn't tell me why, who, or anything about the cancellation..
I'm still waiting for a call from someone, some sort of courtesy call, after I planned 3 dates around their appointments. NOTHING.. .. Disgusting. DO NOT DO BUSINESS with this company. They are unethical, immoral and just downright ignorant. I'm forwarding this INFO TO ALL OF THE MAJOR INSURANCE COMPANIES who might have a moral compass and care how their customers are treated.

Had my windshield replaced in February, and still don't have the correct windshield installed in April. I've had several technicians out to 'look' it. The sensor cover will not fit on since the windshield is not made for it. Neither the windshield or the sensor cover had been replaced in 5 tech visits and over a month and a half.

I booked an appointment over a month ago. I specifically requested between eight and noon. They sent me multiple confirmations, demanding that I meet very specific requirements like how much gas in my tank and where to park my car. On the morning of the repair, I get a call from the service person doing my repair that “I don’t know why they did this to me, but they booked four other people this morning, and you are last. I will not be able to get to you until late this afternoon.” I called Safelite and they would not help me. They told me too bad. You can either take that or you can reschedule, or you can go somewhere else. Very unhelpful. They really did not care that I rearranged my morning and took the morning off for this repair, and they’re not honoring their end of the deal.

Terrible customer service. Requested a quote for windshield replacement. They sent me back a "saved quote" with a button to continue scheduling. The quote stated it was valid for 3 days. Less than 3 days later, I tried to schedule the appointment, and the quote went up over $100. I tried chatting with service and they told me they did not have the saved quote. I asked for an email address so I could send them the email with the "saved quote" and basically, they just hung up on the chat. Another person got on the chat, and basically the same result - no help, and no willingness to help, then left the chat.
Tried calling the number they gave me and all it did was send me to the website (where I was in the first place.) Gave up, called someone else and am getting my windshield replaced for almost $300 less than what they quoted me. Safelite may be okay if you need a chip fixed or something, but I would not recommend them for anything beyond that. I guess they are such a big company that retaining, or satisfying (or even just talking to them) is not important.

Would not recommend Safelite to anyone. They are not honest and do a horrible job. Brought car in for a new window and left with a broken rim on the passenger side window. They tried telling me it blew off on the highway. Which was totally a lie because it was on when I bought it there. If it was missing which is so obvious they would have came to me in the beginning to make sure I knew about it. The guy came out often working on my car and even said to me, did you hear me screaming and cursing it was because there was so much glue on my window it was hard to get off. So now they are trying to deny they broke it. There are so many other reliable places. Please do not take your car to Safelite!!!!

I schedule an appointment for Safelite to come to my home on a Wednesday. When Safelite shows up near the end of the day, they tell me they cannot service my vehicle because it's been sitting out in the sun all day. I respond by telling them that if I knew that was an issue, I would have ensured the vehicle was under shade before they arrived. They agree to meet me at my work the following day, where I park in a parkade so temperature will not be an issue. The next day passes and Safelite doesn't show up. I just logged into Safelite, and without any communication to me whatsoever, they rescheduled my appointment for two days later, Saturday afternoon, at my home... in the afternoon... where once again, my vehicle will be sitting in direct sun.
So to summarize, they refused to work on my vehicle because of the temperature of the windshield, rescheduled my appointment for the next day at a place where temperature would not be an issue, and then rescheduled my appointment again for Saturday afternoon, without telling me, without any consideration for my schedule, in a place where temperature will once again be an issue. This is about as incompetent as service gets.

I would NOT recommend this company to anyone! The first time they came to replace my windshield, they had the wrong windshield. The second time they came, the installer was very arrogant and broke a piece on my car, ordered the part and it took months to come in, the third time they came to fix the part they had broken, they had ordered and sent the wrong part but the installer was super nice. The fourth time they came, they finally got the part right! This entire process took almost 6 months to fix my brand new new vehicle. Nicole at the Florence office was Very rude and not helpful at all! Then did not send me a bill when it was all said and done, but I just received a collections notice!!!

Highly do not recommend Safelite based on my experience with both the Trenton location and the Macomb location. After my install, no one notified me the work was complete and no one had me come inspect the vehicle before the technician left. The first time I got into my car after service, I immediately noticed a crack in the glass and called right away. Instead of getting help, I got bounced around, treated rudely, and given conflicting information.
The Trenton shop was dismissive and unwilling to offer a real solution. Later, Corey from the Macomb location came to my home and provided some of the worst customer service I have experienced. He even said that if the crack had “started creeping” it would have been covered and that they “do that all the time.” That comment alone was enough to make me lose confidence in the entire process.
I also asked for copies of photos and notes related to my claim and was refused. Between the poor communication, lack of transparency, and rude treatment, this was a terrible experience from start to finish. I would not recommend this location or this company based on how my issue was handled. Very disappointing experience. I would not recommend Safelite, especially the Trenton location, or the follow-up service I received from Corey out of the Macomb location.
After my glass install, no one told me the job was finished, and I was never given a chance to inspect the work before the technician left. When I got into my vehicle for the first time after the service, I immediately saw a crack and called Safelite right away. From there, the experience went downhill fast. The Trenton location was rude and unhelpful, and when someone came to my home from the Macomb location, the service was just as bad. Corey was dismissive and made a comment saying that if the crack had “started creeping,” it would have been covered and that they “do that all the time.” That was incredibly unprofessional and not something a customer should hear when trying to resolve a warranty issue. I also asked for photos and notes connected to the claim decision and was told they would not be shared. Poor communication, poor service, and no accountability. Based on my experience, I would strongly suggest going elsewhere.

I had a very small crack in my windshield, and attempted to have them fix it. All they wanted was payment, they did not talk about any risks. David, the technician made it worse, turning him in from a less than 1 Inch cracked to something over 2 feet long on my windshield. When I call the manager, Josh **, he was very flippant and rude, and told me to just go through my insurance. Even though the entire fault of having this 2 foot crack was because of their company not fixing things and making it worse. He seemed more hung up that I wouldn’t pay for their attempted repair. Moreso, he put me on hold for over 20 minutes so he could deal with other things. That’s the kind of customer service he and his team provide. I would avoid this company at all cost, especially given how rude management is. I would never use Safelite again. Now I have to have my whole windshield replaced, and Safelite doesn’t even care.

Absolutely abysmal. Their crack repair spread across my windshield after 2 months, resulting in the entire windshield needing replaced. When I set this up, I was told that I would not have a deductible for this (they have my insurance information and I called while I was unable to check my policy), but found out AFTER my windshield was replaced that I owed $1,000 because I in fact did have a deductible. When I called to discuss this, their phone representative said "having no deductible probably should have raised your red flags right". What the heck? Their costs are wacked out, their service representatives before and after were awful. The actual service members are great. But I will never work with them again, and I would encourage others the same. Ridiculous.

Awful, not reliable. My daughter had to come home from college to get her windshield repaired. We set an appointment and she missed class to come home. Awful service - DO NOT use them.
