Refused to replace the windshield in my truck due to a spec of what they claimed was rust but was a paint chip from removing the old windshield. It was roughly 1/8 inch diameter. My truck is rust free from Florida.

Told me it would be a month before they could see me, ordered the glass, got an appointment. 2 days before the appointment, I confirmed it. Show up, they tell me they never ordered the glass. Come back a few days later, after confirming the appointment AGAIN and even asking if everything was ready to go, they said the glass was ordered but hadn't arrived. Why I had to drive 45 minutes TWICE for them to tell me they still didn't have the glass is beyond me.
I wait another week and a half. Customer service is no help. I'm supposed to go tomorrow for the change out, come to find out that they ordered the WRONG glass for my car, AFTER they confirmed it THREE TIMES. Their customer service is nonexistent. If you file a complaint, they will tell you they'll call you back. Not only will they not call you back, but when you call THEM back, they won't even have a record of your complaint, they just delete it. While at the shop the second time, talked with someone who had returned their car TWICE because the window had cracked due to it not being installed properly. They admitted this, and apparently were still trying to charge the guy for a second replacement.

I have an appointment at 10 am, I drop the car off at 8 am, one hour till closing, which is about 5pm, and received a text message saying that they are starting the windshield replacement now. Why it's a 2-3 hour job that would take 2 days to fix?

I had two chips in my windshield repaired last year in Everett, WA. Both repairs were done poorly and didn't even look like any repair was made, however I was told that the cost of the repairs would be deducted from the replacement cost if either chip started spreading. Recently I noticed that one of my chips had started to spread, and called for a replacement estimate. I decided to pay out of pocket rather than have my insurance premiums go up for another claim on the same damage. I was told that if I paid out of pocket, that I would have to pay the full price of the replacement rather than get credit for the shoddy repairs they performed last year. They do terrible work, and have awful customer service. I will never use or recommend Safelite again.

After getting a quote and appointment time I drove 35 min to the Union City location only to be told I would have to take my Polestar 2 to the dealer; Safelite couldn’t get the parts. Safelite left a voicemail on 8/9 which I did not see but confirmed my appointment on 8/10 via email which I did see as that’s how we had communicated. Went to Glass Inc, a small shop in Atlanta, they did the job same day. Unbelievable.

I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with Safelite's service and announce that I will not be using them again. After granting them a second chance, we are now in our third week waiting for a quarter panel window. Unfortunately, their communication has been inadequate, their professionalism has been lacking, and I feel that they have overcharged me with unwarranted fees. Also, they have not met their scheduled commitments, and my appointment has been postponed until the 14th of this month.

Safelite charged me $39.99 for recycling, even though I had already removed and thrown away all the broken glass and there was nothing to recycle. The technician (who was courteous and did a nice job) agreed with me, but said he couldn't remove the charge. I called every Safelite number I could get my hands on to request that charge to be removed and they absolutely refused. So I had to pay $39.99 for a service I didn't receive and they're fine with that. That's the kind of company Safelite is.

Safelite tried to scam me today. I got a quote online using all the correct information for my vehicle including the VIN number. Made the appointment and the tech showed up and reiterated my price. About 20 mins into the service he called me out to explain that the price doubled because they brought the wrong windshield. He told me these errors happen often and there is nothing he could do for me.
I canceled the service, which I am certain they were not expecting. I tried to no avail to speak with someone in safelite that could help. I have all the emails and quote paperwork but good luck trying to find a human to talk to. I did have a nice text convo with a Bot that got absolutely nowhere. It is frustrating when you can't get through to anyone especially when it was their mistake. I know the company was hoping that I would, instead of paying out of pocket, end up going through insurance so they can bill them for way more money than necessary. Scam. I called a different company and was quoted way less then the first more reasonable price from safelite. I will NEVER again use or recommend Safelite ever. Disgusting practices.

To whom it may concern, I went online to get a quote to fix one small crack in my motor home windshield and your quote was ridiculous $165.00 for a very small repair when I know you have a Safelite person right here in my small town of Pine AZ, which I have used before, then you send out a 15% discount for me to use you for the repair which is still to much. This kind of price gouging is unacceptable and will certainly take my business elsewhere. I will make sure I spread the word about your ridiculous pricing for repairs here in Payson and Pine. No wonder the insurance premiums are so high when you're billing the insurance companies these outrageous prices.
I worked for Progressive for 21 years back when they gave safelite their start in the industry using them exclusively. Like a lot of companies money changes people and greed takes over and unfortunately they forget about true customer service and fair industry practices. This has pushed me to use the smaller companies when replacing windshields or repairs for a 3rd of the cost and most cases and better customer service.

I took my Jeep to a Safelite shop for windshield repair. They only asked for make, model and year. They quoted a price of $650 and scheduled an appointment. The day before the appointment, they texted to say they were cancelling because they did not have the VIN. I called and gave them the VIN and they said they would call to schedule a new appointment when they had the windshield. Without calling, they scheduled an appointment for a day I was unavailable. I called another auto glass company. They gave me two price options: $325 for an after-market windshield and $550 for an OEM windshield. They were polite, professional and competent. Safelite is incompetent and a rip off.

We have used Safelite multiple times for cracks in our windshield, and no problems. We decided we should replace the windshield in our 2005 Honda Element. Tech arrived at the house and, after about 30 minutes, decided he didn't have the right tools to remove the old windshield. My husband followed him to the shop, where they proceeded to remove the windshield. Upon removal, they found rust. They stated they couldn't replace the windshield because of the rust. Told us we needed to go to the body shop and get the rust removed, then we could get the windshield replaced. When speaking to the shop manager, Adrian, he acted like it wasn't his problem and offered nothing to help or ease our concern. He said it's safer and not illegal to drive without a windshield. WHAT? 1 not safer and 2 totally illegal.
This was on a Friday, and what was supposed to be an easy fix for $400 in 1 day has now turned into a $1200.00 5-day issue without a vehicle. It should be mentioned up front verbally to your customers to give them a choice on whether to continue or not, knowing the possible issue. I will never recommend them or use them again based on poor customer service and lack of responsibility.

The technician never showed up, and when I called to ask his whereabouts, the agent kept me on hold for 17 minutes before disconnecting the call. Never got a follow-up call or apology beyond a perfunctory prompt to reschedule. I found a local shop to repair the chip for one third of Safelite’s price. It used to be a good service, but that is no longer true.

I contacted Safelite to replace front driver's side door glass in an older model Honda Civic. A date was scheduled for them to come by my home the following week. The day before my appointment I received a phone canceling my install as they claimed they could not find a window for my car. What? I contacted a local glass and mirror company who readily found a new window, installed it two days later, and at a price much cheaper than Safelite quoted me.

Received (0) the most horrible service from the Cedar Hill, Texas location, was scheduled a home visit, the tech never showed up, I live 7 mins away from the location. When I originally scheduled the appointment, I asked is there a specific time for arrival so that I could plan accordingly? Their front desk scheduling person advised there isn’t and to just be available between 8am and 12 noon. I received a call 729am, I missed the call, when I called back no answer and no response at all! No one from Safelite has reached out and gave any explanation of any sort, it’s officially 1:00 pm.
I called the local location, they stated they will only call once and then move along to the next appointment, Which I had no idea that's how they conduct business. I took off work and canceled plans on Saturday morning to have this completed before my summer trip. Starting Monday you all will receive the worst review for feedback from me and rest assured I will also be letting neighbors, friends, family know of the type of inconvenience service you all offer.

The guy that came and installed the glass did great no issues there until it came to paying for the glass. I made an online payment for half cash and the rest with Affirm online and he said that it showed I needed to pay the full amount that the other payment didn't go through, so I got the full amount through Affirm and paid it but it still shows that I own for both times and Affirm won't change anything on their end until Safelite cancels it on theirs but when I finally get to talk to someone over there they said they can't figure it out on their end and refuses to cancel it, said they was here twice and I asked for proof and they couldn't show me any (I have cameras and looked no one showed up) so we are still fighting with trying to get our money back. The 3 stars are just for the installation! The rest of the company needs to do better.

When they didn't show up by noon, I gave them a little more time. I had opted for text to communicate. Never got a text. When I tried to call them. The AI female that answers couldn't hear or simply couldn't understand me. It was a mess to get a real person to talk to. 30 minutes later I finally was talking to a real person. They said they had left a vm. Remember I opted for text. So I hadn't checked my vm, as I get so many from unknown numbers. I was told there was a scheduling problem. Not my problem. I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction with the lack of response and resolution regarding my recent experiences with your service. On July 2, 2025, I had an appointment scheduled for 1:30 PM. We arrived early at 1:00 PM and proceeded to wait. During our wait, we were informed that the vendor had sent the incorrect windshield, necessitating a rescheduling of our appointment. We were told that this was an ongoing issue with the vendor and were apologized to for the inconvenience. Our appointment was then rescheduled for July 8, 2025, at 2:30 PM.
On July 6, 2025, I received a confirmation call verifying both the correct windshield and the appointment time. However, upon arriving for our 2:30 PM appointment on July 8, we arrived at 2:00 PM, only to be informed at 3:00 PM that the incorrect windshield had been ordered yet again, requiring us to reschedule once more. At that point, I requested to speak with a manager, only to be told that the manager was on vacation until the following week. I then called the Safelite Central Office and spoke with representatives Dante on July 8 and Sharde on July 10. Both representatives escalated the matter to District Manager Tamara **, but I have yet to receive any response or resolution.
Due to this ongoing inconvenience, I have also incurred financial losses with catering events that I had to reschedule as a result of the delays. This situation has not only been frustrating but has also impacted my business. Given the considerable inconvenience and the lack of communication regarding this matter, I believe it is essential to escalate this issue further. I request that Regional Manager Richard Stevens be added to this correspondence to facilitate a resolution. I look forward to your prompt attention to this matter and a satisfactory resolution. Sincerely, Barbara

I scheduled windshield replacement with Safelite twice but they were not able to do the work. The first time, I took off from work and they called last minute to say they weren’t coming since it might rain. It never did. I rescheduled and took off work an 2nd time. The tech came towards the end of the time window I was given but wouldn’t do the work because he said he couldn’t double park. The street was too narrow. They had the address where I was parked. I had a rock hit my window and the crack spreads across my windshield. I got a quote for $484 and I saved up 500 just in case your taxes and extra fees. That was the quote all the way up until the day of my appointment, which was a week after I scheduled it. I know I checked a box that says “I understand fees could be added for a calibration if necessary”, but the price never changed until the day of. I drove over a half hour for my appointment because they were not able to come to me which I found odd but at this point, I was willing to make the drive just to get my windshield replaced. I’m so glad I checked the website again before I went in for my appointment because that’s when I realized they tacked on another $495 fee for recalibration. I drive a 2021 vehicle that has a plastic piece that pops up from my dash it only tells me my speed limit and directions I hardly ever use it.
I called Safelite to get the extra charge taken off because I did not need the recalibration. They would not take the charge off. They wouldn’t allow me just to get my windshield after waiting all the way up until the day of to change my price from $484 to$979. They use the excuse that it was for safety purposes, which to an extent I can kind of understand, but I have a dash for a reason. There is no safety hazard if I don’t have the calibration because I still have a speedometer that could tell me how fast I’m going.
They tried getting me on the day of the appointment by charging me almost 500 more dollars and I would never recommend this place to nobody. They don’t wanna work with you. They just want to simply get as much money from you as possible while on the phone with the agent they were sitting there telling me that I should just make payments and still get my windshield replaced and on top of that they want to charge $70 for some windshield wipers, which is bizarre. Either way I feel like if they’re going to tack on an extra bill, it should’ve been communicated with me prior to the appointment instead of the day of the appointment where I only found out by checking the website. I never got a phone call. I never got an email and I know they were not gonna tell me until after the appointment. The place is very sketchy. No matter how nice the place is to everybody else I will never go back to Safelite.

Absolutely unacceptable experience with Safelite. I scheduled multiple appointments for a windshield replacement, and they completely failed to show up each time — without so much as a courtesy call or any communication at all. I wasted hours waiting around, rearranged my entire schedule, and lost time from work because of their total disregard for their customers. This isn’t just bad service — it’s downright disrespectful and unprofessional. If a company can’t even bother to inform you that they won’t show up, it speaks volumes about how little they value their customers. I have used this location multiple times for insurance related issues. This occasion has been a disaster. The Nixa, Missouri location replaced my windshield in March. I was on work trip in April and looked at car and noticed that multiple trim pieces were missing and had come off. Took to location and they acknowledged it was an installation issue on their end. They ordered new pieces and installed them. My wife has an appointment on May 7th at 1:00 that day and waited at the store 4 1/2 hours for this job to be completed. She was told it would take 1 hour or so to complete.
The location installed the new trim pieces. I got home from a work trip to notice that the new pieces had 2 dents in them, my black Infiniti window trim pieces was all scratched up and tried to be covered up, and there was a white spray all over the cover. I took it in the following week and spoke to Caleb. He acknowledged that they messed up and installed dented trim pieces, should have cleaned up the white spray, and that they needed to replace the black trim piece. He assured it would be ordered. To this date i still have no answers. I have spoke to Sheila who said she would return my calls multiple times and she never did, I spoke to Safelite customer service and was told that a District Manager would be calling me and they never did.
I finally went and met with Ray ** around the week of June 23rd and had him step outside to look at the car and to discuss this. He said they are still waiting on the pieces, they have been ordered but no update. I asked for a update and asked him to call me. He said that the Parts Source group is responsible for this and they can't get answers from them. I said it's not acceptable and I asked for him to call me with a update. He did not do that. I called Ray ** again on Monday June 30th for a update and he said he would have Sheila call me. She never did….Can someone please help? All I am asking for is communication and nobody from the location to the District Manager has the common business courtesy to communicate and it is very disappointing…. Shane **. Email **.

Absolutely avoid this Draper location. When your insurance covers the OEM windshield and then Safelite installs an aftermarket, it COMPETELY voids your car's windshield warranty. When the rear view mirror fell off, my dealership wouldn't cover it because of the now voided warranty and Safelite refused to order a new one. The branch manager said the next best thing was to replace the windshield with another aftermarket. After they ordered a new one, I went to have it installed and the branch manager said she told me wrong and were now only replacing the broken bracket. She refused to make things right and would rather lose a long time loyal customer. There are plenty of other reputable glass repair companies to choose from. I would recommend avoiding Safelite.

Had a crack repair in November 2024. 6 months later driving down the highway I heard something happen on the roof of my car. When I get out, I discovered that the trim had ripped off from around the windshield and was bent back over the roof of the car. I took it back to the location I had it installed and they replaced the trim. Two minutes after leaving the shop I heard the trim come loose again. I was told by a technician there that it was a flaw on my Infiniti windshield. I then had another appointment to replace the trim and they put on a different colored chrome and different size trim which again came loose. Another appointment was scheduled at the West Bend location, which I went to and was told I was supposed to go to the Waukesha location which is 40 minutes away, except I was never informed of this. Then went through endless prompts on 1-800 number and finally got someone to order OEM windshield and trim.
Weeks later I was contacted by somebody that said they expected the windshield to arrive two weeks later and if I would like to make an appointment. I asked them to contact me prior to my appointment to confirm that the windshield had arrived. I was never contacted. I made a new appointment and was told to go to a different location in the morning of via text. So I went to the other location and I was told my appointment was supposed to be at the original location and they had all the parts there. I have not received very many apologies for the complications or any sort of compensation for my time and mileage. When I contacted Infiniti about all the trouble I’m having they inform me that Safelite was most definitely not the company to go with for a windshield repair but since my insurance was covering it, I really didn’t have any choice. Now safe lite does have a disclaimer in this, but the location and size should have been an easy fix not one with a risk of cracking. Hey well, let’s say s@&t happens and give them the benefit of the doubt. After cracking my windshield, I was given the option of making an insurance claim with a 500 deductible for a replacement. The shop guy told me a replacement would be much more than my deductible. I got a quote from a reputable competitor which came to 435. What a scam! Break your windshield leaving you with filing a claim that bangs you for the deductible and and also cashes in on your insurance! Don’t risk getting the so called ”free” repair! They screw up and you’re potentially out of your deductible or have to search around anyway. Go to a windshield repair place instead on your own dollar! They billed my insurance company for the botched repair

Do not use Safelite. Windshield was installed good but the tech broke the washer fluid line. Not a big deal, they go bad. He was honest and told me that his supervisor had been told and a new part was ordered. He said they would fix it next time coming through town. However, it has now been a month and I have called four times. Nobody has ever answered from the shop. I call customer service so they call the shop, no answer. Every time they said they left a message and someone would call me back, still nothing. Guess I should have read the reviews before I had the work done. This is terrible customer service. Just expected more from a company that has been around for a while I guess.

I can’t stand SAFELITE. They have replace three windshields after the initial windshield got a crack. The first the molding was all rippled. The second had visual problem. On the third my dash is not connect to the base of the windshield and it leaks in a car wash and rain on the driver's side. Every tech that comes out says I have to pay to get my windshield repaired now. They say there is nothing wrong. I have video of these failures and still these tech refuse to repair their horrid work. No customer service. You wait on hold for hours to be told there is nothing they will do. Safety on the road. I’m going to sue AAA and SAFELITE!!!
SAFELITE put private glass companies out of business because they got cheap inferior glass! And inferior work. Where on earth does an inferior company destroy quality one. SAFELITE DOES. Maybe a judge will compensate me for the damages. SAFELITE causes me and my car and my time. Hopefully the public can put SAFELITE OUT OF BUSINESS.

The entire service was horrible. Instead of calling when on the way within the window of arrival, the guy just called standing outside my door, then he broke the new glass and tried to hide that from me as I kept checking outside and waiting, this caused a huge delay. Then He caused a lot of damage to my car and did not notify me. When I brought it to the shop by appointment the worker tried to be dismissive, then lied about what photos he was taking. The Manager said it wasn't covered under warranty. He was aware his employee did this damage. The original factory glass had never been changed before. The Manager said, they found the damage that way. Now, I am having to sue in order to get repairs.

I had a very disappointing experience with Safelite, despite them being an approved vendor through my auto insurance for a glass claim. I scheduled an appointment in advance and was instructed to drop my vehicle off before 9:30 AM. At that time, I was assured it would be ready by the end of the day. Safe Lite had full visibility into the fact that my vehicle is equipped with lane assist, which requires calibration after a windshield replacement. Despite this, I was required to provide a credit card for my $100 deductible before any work was even started.
By 4:30 PM, I had received no communication from the store. I tried calling, but was unable to get through due to their overly aggressive AI/voicemail system. When I arrived in person, I was informed that they were unable to calibrate the lane assist because they had installed a windshield that was not compatible with my vehicle’s lane assist system — a major oversight on their part.
To make matters worse, I was told they could not replace the windshield for at least a week because the adhesive needs time to cure, even if they had the correct glass in stock (which they didn’t). This error has left me unable to use essential functions in my car, including cruise control, fuel range tracking, and mileage readings — all dependent on proper calibration.
What’s most frustrating is that I paid the deductible upfront, only to be left with an incomplete and incorrect repair. I was told someone would follow up to let me know when it would be safe to bring the car back, but I’ve yet to hear anything. I expected a much higher standard of service, especially from a company recommended by my insurance provider. Unfortunately, this experience left me feeling more frustrated than helped.

Prior to the service, there was a small crack on the front windshield, approximately the size of a penny. However, after the repair, not only did the original crack remain, but a new chip appeared next to it. This result was completely unexpected and very disappointing—especially given that our vehicle is nearly new, purchased only two months ago.
We had sincerely scheduled a repair on Saturaday, trusting in your company’s professionalism and expertise. Unfortunately, the result was worse than before, and the damage became more noticeable. What’s more concerning is that your technician did not provide any written agreement, risk disclosure, or explanation regarding the possibility of the damage worsening after the repair. All information was given verbally and vaguely. As non-native English speakers, we assumed any risks were extremely low—perhaps only 0.1%—but we were never clearly informed about the actual likelihood or potential severity of further cracking.
Additionally, the promotional email and sample photos we received before the appointment gave us the impression that the repair would visibly improve the damage. This misled us and influenced our decision to proceed. Had we been properly informed of the risks, we might have chosen not to go through with the repair.
Not only has the damage worsened, but we were also asked to pay for a service we are deeply dissatisfied with. No documents were provided before or after the repair outlining the possible outcomes, and we were not asked to sign anything acknowledging any risk. This entire experience has left us feeling very uncomfortable and unfairly treated.

Here’s what actually happened to me. I think anybody is considering this company should read the reviews. This company is an embarrassment the Farragut office in Knoxville, Tennessee. I’ve been to many safety light offices over the last couple decades. This is absolutely the most incompetent and nasty facility I’ve ever experienced in my lifetime after two decades of being a loyal customer. Here’s my story, my next-door, neighbor children to a baseball broke my back window while and an expedition Natural.
I called Safelite after all they’ve taken care of me for a long, long time with absolutely no complaints whatsoever walking away from each deal very impressed with product and professionalism and cleanliness of their shop. I called the Farragut office in Knoxville Tennessee. Over a month ago I have been come to my home because I could not drive my vehicle at this time. I’ve spent about $1000 in rental car fees while I patiently waited. The technician came out and replaced my window with some kind of cheap stuff didn’t even fit after I requested an OEM and paid for it and he brought me out this thing that did not even fit, and it flooded the inside of my vehicle unknowingly to me. Also unknown to me. He broke my window latch and he did not tell me. How do I know this because in this little boy broke my window I had to unlock that to get that out so I knew it was working.
My car only has 30,000 miles on anyways without process. I just bought a new $125 they made me an appointment Four weeks ago. Based on today’s date of being June 7 last night, I get a message from them to confirm my appointment today. Please understand I’ve been waiting over a month now and I have accumulated over $2500 in rental car fees I just got through paying $9800 to have my car picked up on the 11th and shipped to Manila in the Philippines. I can’t get that money back. It’s a nonrefundable deal Finally Saturday arrive today. I went to the Farragut location and was absolutely blown away. Safelite is unrecognizable except for their sign. That is a nasty shop I’ve ever seen in my entire life and I can say that from Port St. Lucie Florida to here Tennessee.
I have never seen a safety like shop like that that is not their brand. But they’re supporting them so I can’t defend them. I arrived early for my appointment only to be told, they have to backorder my window. Now mind you they knew about this almost a month ago and they played with me all the way up and made me drive a 70 mile round-trip only to be told that my windows gotta be backorder and they can’t get it to me until the 16th. That will cost me over $10,000, not including the 3000 that I’m getting ready to spend on a rental car. This is safelite, look at their reviews. They’re not fixing that. This company has lost their way. I watch them grow up very impressed. It is unrecognizable.
I am not advising anyone not to go there. Just read the reviews. This community could do without them. I’m being forced to their competitor now after being a loyal customer for over two decades. That’s how I’m being treated by this company, toyed with, taking advantage of disrespected. They stole my money. You can’t get a hold of these people. AI has got a wall up. You can’t talk to a human and then I wouldn’t be kind to me. She was a very smart, sharp individual that did not need to be on the phone representing the company and I never get upset. I am a professional businessman and I know how to keep a level head. I’ve already learned that being mean does not get you anywhere. I’m always nice to people. I just simply can’t believe this company has done this to me. Not this company. The one that I knew now all they want is your money and your credit card number and you can’t stop them.
I had to cancel my credit card. All I’m trying to do is to get my money back and give them their window back and they won’t even afford me that avenue. This call place where I called today. It took me 30 minutes to get a real human being on the phone and I had to lie. This company has got AI with a big wall, keeping their customers from reaching them and making it terribly difficult and I know why now. Look at the reviews. If you wanna be a Consumer you need to review the reviews. They speak bounds about this Farragut office tragedy is truly tragedy. Why they’re treating their customers you’re gonna have to make your own mind up. Thank you for listening

A rock flew up on my windshield and caused a crack. I called my insurance company and they said Safelite would fix it. I told them I had to have a BMW windshield because the car was nearly brand new and getting an offbrand windshield would devalue the vehicle I had been told. The insurance company had no problem with that. I called Safelite. They didn’t want to come to my home. They wanted me to drive more than 40 miles away and I told them no way you’re coming to my house to fix this. So they made me wait three weeks. The guy came out and before he got started, I said is that a BMW windshield? He said no we don’t do BMW windshields. I said then take that back. I already discussed this with my insurance carrier and they said I could get an OEM BMW windshield. So I had to wait another three weeks.
They came out with the correct BMW windshield. But in the process of installing the windshield they damaged the cowling. I did not notice this until after the guy left. I called them up and I said you’ve got this part all damaged. I didn’t even know what it was called at that time. I learned from the BMW mechanic that it was called the cowling. Safelite said they were not responsible and that this could happen during the windshield changing process. I was furious, but ended up having to pay for the cowling replacement myself. Twice he has canceled the appointment soon afterwards without letting me know. Twice I have set aside between 12-5 pm for them to show when I could have been doing something else. The only reason I gave two stars is because of the good work in the past.

I had a small chip in my windshield on a new Bronco. I contacted progressive my insurance company and I was forced to use Safelite. I scheduled the appointment and a Safelite tech came to my work without any explanation as to how the process was going to work. He took my keys, was gone five maybe ten minutes, handed me my keys and said, "Sorry. I broke your windshield," and left with no paperwork with my signature on them.
I called the company to talk with the manager of the Smock PA store. Mason is his name. He laughed at me and shrugged it off as a normal operating procedure. I then Talked to Joe the Regional Director. He informed me he was the Safelite God above and beyond all and he makes the final decisions. Very poor customer service and respect for their customers. I wouldn’t recommend this company to anyone who expects to be treated fair and with respect also Progressive Insurance is just as bad. Is should take a good portion of the blame!!!!

They claim that their work is backed with a lifetime guarantee, however, they want to charge me for a new windshield. To have a professional technician come and do a job and leave me with it worse off than when they found it, and ask me to pay for it, is absolutely terrible customer service, and I will not be using them again. I went to Safelite in Hampton Virginia and the receptions told me it's definitely got to be the regulator of the window that's causing it not to roll down and up.. I knew that was incorrect that she should not be doing that and giving a diagnosis without a mechanic seeing the car. She proceeded to demand that I go to a car repair parts store and buy a regulator and then make an appointment to come back. After waiting an hour and a half to be seen on the appointment day, the mechanic came and said he had put in the regulator but it wasn't correcting the problem of the car window rolling up and down. I should have insisted that they diagnosed the car before doing any repairs. He comes to me and shows me what's wrong with the car that it's a yellow wire disconnected from a little cubicle shaped item that collects and holds all the wires. He could not do anything further for me and put the car door back together incorrectly.
On the way home I see a message on my dashboard saying driver's door ajar. I am stuck in heavy traffic and cannot get turned around and the store was about to close anyway on a Friday afternoon. All weekend we could not get the interior lights to turn off in the car because the driver door was a jar and would not shut adequately even with our attempts to fix the door and this was causing the interior lights to not want to shut off which would have drained the battery. We cannot use our car all weekend because we finally got the lights to turn off miraculously.. We are having to take it to an electrical mechanic tomorrow because I don't trust Safelite and that bully of a receptionist.
On top of that we're out $175 we had to pay Safelite for being forced to go and buy a regulator when it wasn't going to even be the problem but she insisted so at the reception desk when she had not looked at the car herself and doesn't probably know anything about mechanic work. It's this kind of stuff that keeps people from trusting mechanics and mechanic shops and causes people to lose business because they have idiots working for them who are trying to act more powerful than they are. After telling the receptionist how I felt, she said I could have the mechanic take the regulator out after he's been working on it for an hour.
The reason I came in to Safelite is because of the window not rolling up and down and I got a faulty diagnosis by the receptionist and bullied to buy that part I did not need. And when I noticed the door ajar coming home on the interstate there was nothing I could do about it on a late Friday afternoon to get it fixed so that I would not have an inability to operate my car all weekend because we could not turn off the interior lights easily. There was no button that we could turn on or off that would allow us to keep the interior lights off until we could get this repair done on the wire in the door panel. All because a receptionist wanted to look knowledgeable about cars when she was not. She kept insisting that it was the regulator causing the window to not roll up or down when it was just a loose wire that the mechanic said he cannot fix after he had already put in the regulator.

Safelite Glass repair McAllen TX. Yesterday, the passenger side front glass exploded out of the window. I immediately called my insurance company, who guided me to Safelite. My deductible is $495.00, and the price Safelite showed without taxes, was $388.80. Surprise! There is a $39.99 recycling fee for the glass. We have already cleaned up 80% of the glass at least. I am sure there is some stuck on the door panel, but it can not be much. When I asked the technician, Alex (who is a really nice guy and great tech), he said it was a fee negotiated with the insurance company. If I wanted to do it without the insurance negotiated price, it would be more.
I went online to Safelite, put all my info in, and it came up the same price. Including the recycling fee. No negotiated discount. I then called Juan, the McAllen Safelite manager. He told me the same thing Alex told me. Alex was just repeating what he had been told. I shared that was incorrect info as I had done my homework and knew what the price was. He did not say one word. I asked him to remove the recycling fee as there was not anything to recycle. He then said that it was for vacuuming the glass out between the door panels. This is a deceptive practice. First, I am told it is a negotiated price, then I find out that is not true. I am also going to send this information to the better business bureau. I understand a recycling fee if there is something to recycle. I am going to share this review as many places as I can. I was charged for a service I did not receive.

Choices are required to move forward. There is no way to ask for clarification or assistance. I tried for over an hour to get any kind of help. A company that refuses to speak to customers is no place to do business, even if the price was the best. Safelite was nearly $200 more than any other glass company and no explanation for why. Hard for me to imagine a worse overall experience-- I would have been much better off never having interacted with Safelite and just living with the crack in my windshield! Erroneously believing they were auto glass experts, I brought my car in to the Safelite shop to replace a broken (cracked) windshield. But I got my car back with a whole bunch of OTHER things carelessly broken and damaged, damage I have to live with because the replacement parts are no longer made for my car. I will be very sure to go elsewhere the next time I need auto glass work!
It started with an initial windshield replacement appointment—set in-person at the shop—that required me to take time off work. I then was advised over the preceding weekend it was necessary to reschedule the appointment as the windshield had not yet arrived to the store. Ironically I still received an automated confirmation of my original appointment date and time, but now I had to take more time off of work for a second appointment. On Monday 3/10/25, I brought my car to the Safelite shop on East Ridge Road to have my windshield replaced onsite and in-shop. To my shock and disbelief, an unbelievable amount of totally preventable damage was done to my car in the process of changing the windshield. What got damaged…?
1. The wiring for the radio antenna was so damaged the radio would no longer tune in my stations (I immediately returned to the Safelite shop to advise them of this damage, but they were not able to correct the problem)
2. The paint got scratched on the upper fender
3. The paint got chipped on the upper edges of both front doors
4. Interior plastic trim got scratched
5. Sections of the door weatherstripping were needlessly cut and left jagged
6. Plastic finish trim removed to change the windshield was reinstalled improperly such that it got caught in the hood hinges and deformed, and as a result the hood wouldn't close properly
7. The wiper arms got gouged up during removal
8. The new rubber windshield surround molding fits poorly against other trim on the car
I relied on the recommendation of my national auto insurance company thinking the entire process would be fast and easy, but instead I was left with MORE problems and MORE damage to deal with than before I brought my car in to Safelite! What’s worse was I brought my car for in-shop service to ensure the best possible service in a heated and fully-equipped shop, but instead it was a disaster.
The morning after this awful experience, I called in to Safelite corporate customer care to inform them of my profoundly negative experience, including sending before-and-after pictures clearly showing the extent of damage done to my car. The customer care rep said my concerns would be forwarded to the store manager and regional manager to address.
A full week after the damage was done, I finally heard from the assistant manager from the store. I politely informed the assistant manager I was not interested in returning to make a “Warranty” claim, an exercise in futility and wasted time since the damaged parts of my car are no longer even made and really can’t be replaced. And after the extensive damage Safelite did to my vehicle the first time around, I would never trust or allow them to touch or work on my car again anyway. I also politely turned down an unspecified offer of compensation since no amount of money could undo what had been done, it was more about ensuring that no one else would ever have to go through what I did. Based on my abysmal experience, protect yourself and avoid heartache and headaches-- don’t choose Safelite for your auto glass replacement needs.

I certainly won't do business with any company that you can't get through to a live person to talk to! You're up a creek without a paddle if you have problems. Kinda glad it happened before I gave them the job and then found out!

I was okay with the job but today I noticed pale white stains all over my dashboard that would not come off with car cleaner. I set up a warranty appointment and needless to say, no one showed up. I'm not sure of the quality of the windshield but after reading these reviews I'm not feeling very confident.

Complete ordeal from onset. Setup online payment was immediately processed before online scheduling done. Online appointment didn't work somehow so was called back immediately and they claimed no payment. They continually harassed me for payment up to and including day the tech showed up with a FAULTY windshield. Day after that someone evidently found that I had paid and said no one thought I had paid because they issued refund same day it processed payment. Two and half weeks later no windshield, no refund. Reeks of fraud. I'm contacting bank to see what I can do on this matter.

We contacted Safelite last weekend after our van was broken into. We provided all of the information for the vehicle, the window that was broken, etc. The technician showed up at our house around when we expected but shortly afterwards informed us that it was a "two person job that needed to be done in the shop." Frustrating, as we were not able to get it into the shop until Saturday and this was Tuesday. We scheduled an appointment at the shop in West Olympia and requested OEM glass be installed (again).
When we arrived on Saturday morning for our appointment, the front office person was unable to find us in the system. She was very difficult to work with. When she looked us up by our number (she was "unable to find our phone number") she informed us that she had cancelled our appointment. She claims that she attempted to contact us but the calls went t a "number is no longer in service" message and hung up. She cancelled our order for the OEM glass and had no glass on site for us. We are now scheduled to be back in Wednesday afternoon and will only be receiving aftermarket glass.
We are incredibly upset and frustrated that our appointment was canceled for no real reason. It is even more upsetting that we have had to extent our rental car by a week now at this point. Safelite needs to investigate this issue and determine an appropriate corrective action. It is completely unacceptable. We are considering legal action or mediation to be made whole for our extended losses and inconvenience due to the incompetence and lack of care from Safelite employees at the West Olympia branch.

This review is less about their competency than their integrity. They came out to change a windshield and did it but could not calibrate it completely. I noticed later that I had a leak because it was not sealed at the windshield camera. This ruined the camera and they took responsibility. When the camera was reinstalled they still could not finish the calibration. They asked me to take it to the dealership to get it calibrated and they would pay for it. I did as they asked and now they are refusing to pay for it as promised. It has now been over six months and they continue to give excuses to not pay me the over $400 they owe me. The last excuse was saying that they do not reimburse jobs on the insurance company that I have, but I did not use the insurance company for this job and paid out of pocket. The branch has had a manager turn over and they do not want to pay me. I feel let down and duped by Safelite and will not use them again.

Very cheap windshields, I had to get it replaced within 1 month! They also do not put the rearview console back correctly. The guy used a 2 sided tape & claimed that it was the only thing they can do, I called to have them notate it but I don't believe that the lady added it since she was making excuses about it. I went to another company & they were able to replace it with the factory windshield, which is so much better & he also put the rear view mirror back & it was secured perfectly & they were way cheaper. Please always do your research & never deal with shady Safelite.

Had my back window replaced by Safelite in Hazleton, PA. Ever since they replaced the back window I have a problem with excessive fogging. Filed a complaint with customer service. They stated the window was installed correctly, it must be another problem with the car. This problem started immediately after the back window was replaced. So much for a warranty. I am still fighting to get my back window replaced and resealed.

My windshield was replaced in October, 2024. Good job. The rearview mirror fell off today, February 5, 2025. It is almost IMPOSSIBLE to speak with a person, and the automated robot leaves so few options it is useless. The 800 numbers take you to the same annoying robot. I did learn there is a secret number that a person will actually answer...800 638 8958. It may be erased by the time I click"send." The lesson: Good initial work. Hope you don't need service, because they are not willing to provide assistance unless you insist on waiting them out, as I did today. Is it worth the effort? Probably not.

I made an appointment on the 800 line to have large crack in windshield replaced in my company truck.. Safelite was to call my insurance company to get the policy number and other required information - the agent took all the phone contact information and vehicle information. Four days later and 2 hours before the appointment, a Safelite rep called me and asked for the policy number. I told them that Safelite was to call the insurance company. The rep had all the notes in the record and said she would call.
2 hours later I arrived at the Safelite location in Norwood, MA and they did not have the policy number. After 1 call to Safelite and MY call to MY agent, they got the policy number, but then told me that there was a $1000.00 deductible. I called my agent and on speakerphone he told the Safelite clerk that that was wrong - there was NO deductible. The SafeLite rep said nothing and did nothing. I cancelled the call and am having the replacement done by another company. SAFELITE is poorly run, their customer service is terrible, their follow-through is terrible, and they are trying to steal deductibles from customers! DO NOT USE THEM!!!

POOR CUSTOMER CARE. Safelite - Clinton Township MI (James D. Store Manager) was unresponsive to 3 emails, and finally took my call due to our insurance company setting up a 3-way. The store manager did not hear my problem, due to damage of the latch-actuator from residual broken glass as would qualify this as poor workmanship. Our hatch/latch cavity should have been 100% clear/clean from broken glass as this clean-up was attempted by your Tech, but did not remove all broken glass with the tools on-site. Doing a complete job, would not have led to broken glass clogging the actuator, thus causing the unit to fail and an out of pocket expense of $900.00. https://www.safelite.com/national-lifetime-warranty

The technician called to let me know he was 10 minutes away. Great. I explain what he needs to do to find the vehicle. He replied, "That’s a lot. I’ll call you when I’m there." During the call back he says he understands that he needs to make a right out of the parking lot, says he understands the directions (4 -1st rights), then he says he’s here. He is not. Leaves me on the phone. Comes back. Tells me he is doing something for his boss. This happened several times.
Boss gets on and asks if someone can open the door and bring the truck out because he can’t find it. I replied, "You will have to find that door. Why does somebody have to open it before you get there, just knock." Boss said it’s the first time to the location. It’s the 3rd time. Someone standing outside doesn’t change the fact you have to find the person. Then he says, "I canceled the service," and tells the tech, "Go to your next call," and hangs up on me. There is also no one to speak to to correct the issue at neither the shop or corporate office. The only reason I give one star is because I had to to submit this. Otherwise it is zero stars.

They just bounce you around customer service with every call ending with “our district manager will give you a call”. I never received a call - finally had to contest the charge with the credit card. Poorly trained technicians and terrible customer service. Feels like a $500 rip off - I still have to have someone else repair the window.

If I could give negative stars, I would. My experience with Safelite was a complete nightmare. The short version: They damaged the forward camera on my BMW M5 while replacing the windshield. The repair cost me $2,007 ($1,347 for the camera + $660 in labor). Key issues: 1. After replacing the windshield, they couldn't reconnect the camera to the car's computer. 2. I had to return 3 times, spending 10 hours in their waiting room. 3. They ultimately couldn't fix it and told me to go to the dealer.
4. When confronted, the manager (Ally) denied responsibility and forced me to sign a safety waiver before returning my keys. 5. BMW of Annapolis found the camera connection had been damaged beyond repair. 6. Safelite refused to reimburse me for the repairs, despite clear evidence the damage occurred during their windshield replacement. 7. The car's computer log shows the fault appeared when Safelite first changed the windshield. 8. I tried contacting the Safelite District Manager (Markus **) but received no response after a week. Now I'm forced to report them to the Better Business Bureau and sue in small claims court. This has been my worst service experience in 15 years. I strongly advise against using Safelite.

It's INCONCEIVABLE how poorly executed this experience is. I called three local places but nobody speaks English so I decided to try this national chain I've heard the commercial for years. The people who answer the phone and the phone script is so awful and lacks complete logic.
2. Are you using insurance? No I'm paying cash. This really throws them into a tailspin as if nobody ever does this.
3. What is your year, make model. Blah Blah. Ok I'm sending you to this other department.
4. New department. Repeat all same info.
I called three times hoping to find someone who had more intelligence than the previous three. I got an ok man. I booked. Two days later, I never received an email confirmation, which I thought was odd. So I called to ask if I SHOULD HAVE. The woman said, "No. We don't normally do that. Let me check on that." So I said, "Well if you don't normally do that, then what are you checking on?" She replied, that she thought I said I was receiving NUMEROUS emails. They are the lowest IQ humans one can find to answer the phone. I cancelled. So many red flags then I came here to check the reviews. I'll pay more money at the dealership for peace of mind and sanity.

Safelite caused damage to my vehicle and is now refusing to fix it. The first mistake I made was calling Safelite. When they replaced my glass, they caused damage to the 'Rain Light Condensation Sensor' a $700 repair. After Safelite replaced my glass, I immediately began receiving fault notices from the vehicle (a 2022 BMW) saying there was a problem with the sensor. My second mistake was assuming this error message could easily be resolved with a simple software reset from the BMW dealership service shop and since I had an appointment already scheduled with BMW for routine maintenance, I figured I'd just take care of everything all at once.
After BMW inspected my vehicle, they told me the rain sensor was damaged and asked if I had had new glass recently installed. BMW said they see this often and that they were, and I quote, "1,000% sure this damaged was caused by Safelite." The BMW service rep made this comment with me and the Safelite representative (Charles) on the phone. I had to get Charles from Safelite on the phone myself and merge him in with the BMW rep because Charles couldn't seem to reach the BMW rep on his own. The third mistake I made was hoping Safelite would be responsive. I had called Safelite on a Friday to notify them of the damaged they caused to my car but wasn't able to reach anyone and had to leave a message. The weekend came and went without a call back which I understand but when Monday morning came and went without a call, I began calling Safelite again.
I finally received a call back from Charles at Safelite Monday afternoon and gave him the BMW rep's contact information. Charles was going to contact BMW and then get back to me. It was my BMW rep that contacted me close to 5PM saying he hadn't heard from Safelite. I then called Safelite again, got Charles on the phone and then patched the BMW rep into the call. This is when the BMW rep said he was 1000% certain the damaged occurred when the windshield was replaced. Charles from Safelite said he was going to look into it and get back to me. The fourth mistake I made was figuring Safelite would stand behind their work and certainly would do something, anything to repair the damage they caused, right? Wrong.
The next day I spoke with "Mike" from Safelite who told me Safelite would not do anything to remedy the situation or the damage they caused. Mike pointed out that I was outside the 30 days I had to notify them of any damage. Mike also said that the dealerships often say that damage such as this was caused by them and that they (Safelite) have no way of knowing what else may have happened to the vehicle. In that brief statement he cast aspersions on both BMW and me as being untruthful, as if this was maybe a conspiracy against Safelite. I offered to bring the vehicle to a different shop or to them, but Mike refused both pointing out I was outside the 30 days to report any damage. I called the national customer service number for Safelite as well and they said they are not able to help me either. They said they could not override the local shop.
Listen folks, don't bring your vehicle to Safelite unless you want them to damage it, give you the runaround then leave you with a broken car. This was a mistake I will never make again, and I strongly recommend you don't either.

I had a crack on the road. I scheduled a replacement through my insurance. Safelite showed up, did the replacement. Less than a month, I had the same thing occurred and I had to schedule another replacement now through Safelite. They did the replacement with dirt all over my dashboard and stain on the side panel supporting the glass. I had to clean myself but I can't remove the stain. I had a small impact size of a grain of sand while checking my wipers, the 4th day of the replacement and I thought that it is not a big of a deal, but it quickly extended that I question the quality of the glass. I did a warranty check up appointment, the tech guy came and said that I have to pay for a whole new glass for them to replace it again. The only thing, I received are "Sorry, ...." from the tech guy and customer service. Please read this and do your research well before working with them. I made that mistake.
