After pressing him for specifics, I finally got an admission of the company name and agreed to speak with a second representative who was supposedly more knowledgeable. In hindsight, he was simply the "closer." The first rep made a call, and conveniently, the closer was finishing a deal nearby and could be at my home in 20 minutes. Before leaving, the first rep asked a question that raised a major red flag: "Does anyone on the title have a FICO score over 650?" When I asked why this was relevant, he hesitated before explaining that the equipment they install is expensive. In other words, homeowners with lower credit scores apparently aren’t trustworthy enough for their service—a notion that made him visibly uncomfortable when he confirmed it.

After he left, I quickly researched TriSMART and found enough concerning reviews to make my decision. Between their disregard for city ordinances, their deceptive tactics, and the lack of transparency about their sales pitch, I decided to cancel the follow-up conversation with the closer. He was surprised by my abrupt change of heart and tried to push back several times before finally accepting my refusal. While I was never a customer, my experience suggests that TriSMART is willing to ignore rules and use misleading practices to gain customers. It raises the question—if this is how they operate before you sign a contract, how would they treat you once you become one?
