For many people, August means making travel plans or preparing for the back-to-school season.
For 7-Eleven, August now means pumpkin spice season. The retailer is leading the pack when it comes to offering customers the popular fall beverage, making it available to customers at all nationwide 7-Elevens, Speedways, and Stripes locations from August 1 through October 31.
“We know our customers wait all year long for their favorite fall flavors…so we decided to break out the pumpkin a little bit early this year,” said Dennis Phelps, 7-Eleven’s senior vice president of Merchandising. “It may not quite feel like fall outside yet, but it sure can taste like fall as we enjoy the first Pumpkin Spice Latte of the season.”
Getting in the fall spirit early
For those who want to get into the fall spirit before the seasons officially change, a quick trip to 7-Eleven might be in store.
The fall menu includes a Pumpkin Spice Latte, pumpkin coffee, pumpkin syrup, Apple Cider Donuts, Apple Snack Pies, and Apple Danishes. The company also recommends its “Pumpkin Somethin’” recipe: add two pumpkin spice and two creamers to any hot or iced coffee.
While pumpkin is available earlier than ever this year, 7-Eleven will roll out its pumpkin muffin in stores by the end of this month.
Members of 7-Eleven’s rewards program – 7Rewards – or Speedway’s Speedy Rewards can get pumpkin-flavored bakery goods for $1.
When will others follow suit?
Many retailers, like Walmart and Target, have already started selling pumpkin-flavored goods – coffee creamer, cookies, bread, cereals, etc.
While 7-Eleven has already kicked off the fall beverage season, when will other popular coffee chains be following suit? Popular Instagram food blogger Markie_Devo has reported on when popular retailers will launch their annual pumpkin offerings – as well as some upgrades to well-known fall menus.
