What are Viking ranges?

Whether you’re shopping for a range or a warming drawer, Viking products are known for their reliability, functionality, professional quality and attractive designs. It offers appliances for indoor and outdoor kitchens and has many colors and styles to choose from.

Here are the types of cooking products you can expect to find at your local dealer or showroom:

How long do Viking ranges last?

Your Viking range’s life expectancy is heavily influenced by how often the stove is used and how well it’s cleaned and maintained. As a general rule, most ranges last from 10 to 20 years. Gas ranges have an average life expectancy of 15 years, while electric ranges typically last for 13 years. Viking strives to be at the higher end of that scale, and it designs its ranges to compare with professional appliances known to last as long as 40 years.

Viking offers a two-year limited warranty on its products. This warranty covers workmanship or material defects and is valid from your date of purchase. Products can be returned for an exchange within 10 days of purchase, or you can return your range for repairs if you experience issues.

Viking range prices

Viking ranges typically start at around $4,000, but its larger and more luxurious models can cost more than $20,000. Its cooktops range from $1,500 to $8,000, and wall ovens generally cost around $6,000 to $14,000.

The price of any appliance depends on its size, number of burners, fuel type and the dealer’s pricing. You can request a quote online or visit one of its local dealers to get pricing on the model you’re interested in. Viking also offers a variety of promotional offers.

I purchased Viking appliances in 2023. A refrigerator, 4 burner stove and microwave. These are the worst products ever I’ve had. Nothing but problems!!!! The freezer door has broken 3 times and the ice maker has also broken within 3 years. The handle on the microwave has broken and there is the oven! When the oven hit a certain temperature it would make a loud bang so they put a bracket on. Now it makes a less loud bang and then the igniter in the oven would not ignite right away and it would fill my kitchen with gas. Half of these they would fix due to warranty. For spending over 10k for these appliances these are junk.

Purchased a Viking RVGR model 30" range as part of a kitchen renovation in late 2024. To date, it has been nothing but problems. Shortly after professional installation by the authorized Viking appliance vendor, meeting all the gas line size and pressure requirements, the oven refused to reliably light, going through its two-attempt program, then simply sitting with the blue light on as if it were heating up. However, it wouldn't light or heat. Also, it would rarely ignite in Convection Bake mode. It was necessary to start it in Bake mode, after a series of Bake>Set temp>Ignition failure>OFF>repeat cycles to ignite; I'd have to wait for it to heat up, then turn to Convection Bake when the oven was hot to get it to ignite.

A warranty service call sent out a tech, who just happened to get the Convection Bake to light on the second try. He declared the problem resolved and left. Follow-up warranty calls resulted in me being told the problem was fixed. Nope, not fixed. Also, the oven has a difficult time maintaining temperatures below 325°F. As the oven cycles, it will frequently fail to ignite. After two attempts to ignite, the oven sits with the blue light on and no heat. Just try baking a custard pie when halfway through baking, the oven has shut down and gone cold. Frequently, the burners will continue with the ignition sparker clicking after the burner has lit, continuing forever.

And lately I noticed an inordinate amount of heat escaping from the front of the oven, heating up the knobs to burning hot. It turns out that the door lock that activates during the cleaning cycle (which I have never used) has popped to the locked position, preventing the door from completely closing at the top. And the latest minor issue is that the oven light switch has become inoperable. The light inside has been on now for 3 months straight until it finally blew the other day. Oh, and the middle rack, which is on rails for sliding out, has become misaligned and now is almost impossible to slide out. I'm replacing this $5000 piece of junk with a BlueStar range. Viking sucks.

We bought a Viking 30" Range, RVGR33025BCY00, around 5 years ago assuming we were getting a quality product that was going to last with a company that stands behind their product. We had 3 warranty claims in the 2 year warranty period -- two minor and one gas leak -- and Viking handled them promptly. We were disappointed that we had to have the service but thought we were good going forward. Two years later the oven stopped working (around 9 months ago) -- the exhaust fan would kick on then the oven would shut itself off. The 'clean' light would then come on and the 'oven' light flashed four times. Factory authorized service center diagnosed as bad controller board. It took 6 weeks for the part to come in and get installed. $1000 for part and service.

It lasted about 4 weeks. The repair company warranted their work but not Viking. $500+ for a new controller board and another 2 months of no oven. Part was replaced and the oven worked for another 6 months. Oven is now failing with the same symptoms. Probably at least another $1000 to get it working. I called Viking and the only thing they would do is refer me to an authorized repair service. They disavowed any responsibility and said all parts repair are by Middleby and not Viking. They were unconcerned that one of the products had 6 failures in 5 years.

I was hoping for a company that stood behind their product and cared, at least a little, about their customer. I guess not. My daughter bought a nice range at the same time we bought the Viking. It cost maybe 1/4 of a Viking and it just works. Zero issues. I should've read these reviews before purchasing the Viking Range. My advice -- don't make the same mistake I did.

Very disappointed with our Viking Range — repeated problems and no meaningful support. We purchased a Viking 30-inch gas Series 5 range in May 2022 because we believed we were purchasing a premium appliance that would provide years of reliable service. Unfortunately, that has not been our experience. By November 2022, we were already experiencing problems with the oven. Viking’s service documentation records that the oven temperature settings were not correct, the unit would sometimes stop heating during cooking, and there was a rattling noise when the convection fan was operating. The problems continued. In 2024, we again had service performed because the oven would indicate that it had reached 400°F but could drop to approximately 250°F a few minutes later.

The technician documented that the unit would reach temperature but then would not re-ignite. An ignitor/electrode was replaced. Unfortunately, the ignitor problem has continued. We are now also experiencing clicking from three of the four burners when they are operating. I contacted Viking Customer Service and explained the history of the problems. I was referred to a repair company that, I was told, serviced Viking products in our area. When I contacted that company, I was told that they no longer service Viking products.

I called Viking again and was referred to another repair company. That company told me they could not repair our particular model because it is different and not easy to service. When I contacted Viking Customer Service again, I was told that because our warranty had expired, Viking could not help us and that we needed to find someone ourselves who could repair the range. This is extremely disappointing for a premium appliance. We have kept our service paperwork documenting these problems and repairs. A range that has required repeated service and continues to have ignition and oven problems after only a few years is not what I expected when I purchased a Viking.

At this point, I regret not pushing harder earlier for Viking to replace the range with a properly functioning unit. Viking — I hope you see this review and reconsider how you are handling customers who have experienced repeated problems with your appliances. A premium appliance should come with dependable performance and, just as importantly, reasonable access to qualified service. I would like Viking to review our service history and reconsider helping us with this range, even though the warranty has expired.

Ordered a Viking 6-burner cooktop, model VGSU53616BSS on 1/15/22. Estimate delivery date was supposed to be June 2022. Cooktop was received 10/6/22. I installed on 10/6/22. Worked ok, however, when I was cleaning the burners recently, I noticed a cap screw missing on the lower right burner. The cap screw secures the burner to the top surface. I wrote to Viking 4/20/26 requesting them to send a cap screw.

Customer service said that the 2-year warranty had expired. There's also a 5-year limited warranty "any burner which fails due to defective materials or workmanship in normal residential use during the third through the fifth year for the date of original retail purchase will be repaired or replaced free of charge." I wrote again, saying that the cooktop left the factory this way and requested again for Viking to mail a cap screw, qty. Customer Rep never answered by emails. I called Viking on 4/22/26, spoke to a customer rep. She said as a courtesy, they will send a cap screw.

On 4/24/26, I received an email that cooktop is out of warranty, but you can buy one for $16.22. I went to Ace Hardware and bought one for 75 cents. I tried installing, but the threaded holes were stripped, so I Loctited the screw in. Viking for a high end product, their warranty and customer serivce is awful. Warranty starts at date of purchase, note date of receiving, (took 9 months to receive). Viking employees - pretend you're on the other side, do you like what you dish out? Will never buy a Viking again. Also, had freon leaks on my Viking refrigerator. Poor quality and workmanship.

We purchased a Viking range Model VGIC54828BSS00, 5 Series, for installation in a home we used part-time in August 2023. We moved into the home full-time in March 2025 and used the large side of the oven twice; each time caused the house to fill with natural gas. We called the contractor, who inspected the oven and confirmed it was properly installed and suggested we call a Viking repair shop.

When we were eventually able to schedule someone to come, Diego ** from Viking called and reassured us that they would promptly take care of everything. Before the range was even inspected, Diego told us that they would pay half of the cost of repair the oven or would replace the entire unit. When the repair team came, they told us the oven was extremely dangerous and under no circumstances should we use it. They also told us that it never should have been installed, as the unit was either flawed at time of manufacture or damaged in transit. After I conveyed all of this to Diego, and asked that he either replace the unit or have Viking pay the full cost of repair, he ghosted me. For three months, he has refused to return my calls and text messages, despite numerous efforts to follow up.

House 2 years old, Builder installed Viking appliances. Wall range has been an issue from day 1. Door does not fully close leaving a gap and it has gotten worse. Apparently, it is the springs that are weak from other reviews. Now the unit is taking more than 30 minutes to heat up to 400 degrees. The Viking refrigerator has been leaking water into the ice since day 2 but nothing has fixed the issue and now it is so bad after 2 hours of ice making we have 1 inch of water mixed with the ice. We have shut that down. Dishwasher has always taken hours, and the dishes are still dirty. Even with scraping and rinsing before you place them in. Neighbor next door gave up with her Viking dishwasher and gave it away and bought a brand from Home Depot.

To have someone trained in Viking come take a look is $300.00 for each appliance. Parts are around $1500, and install is added to this. Giving up and buy something else. 2 years old and out of 5 appliances made by Viking 3 are trash. The range model is VSOE1305502, can tell you it may be put together in Mississippi but the writing on the model and serial number are not in English.

I do not recommend buying a Viking oven! We purchased a Viking oven, fridge, microwave & dishwasher. Our oven has not worked properly from the beginning. The first time this problem occurred, Viking covered the repair because it was under warranty. The same part (DSI controller) stopped working again, but it’s now out of warranty (was installed less than 3 years ago). We only used the part of the oven that had the problem twice, before it stopped working again. We’ve had the same problem multiple times. The oven doesn’t get up to temperature, making it useless! I’m now expected to pay more money to fix it! Seems like this is a defective oven since the same problem continues to occur. DO NOT buy Viking!

I purchased a 48” Viking series 5 gas range 4 years ago. I knew what I was buying. It is a basic model without the bells and whistles of other brands. Timers, temp probes, digital displays, etc. It is a basic cooking unit for over $14,000. I was fine with it. I did not expect the lack of quality with some of the parts. The quality of the burner top plate finish is horrible. The paint was pitted. I had it replaced when it was first delivered. That was a battle. The replacement was not much better. The finish is next to impossible to keep clean and looking like new. I own restaurants. I know what clean is. I know what products to use. Viking is not a good unit for home use. Eventually I will be mad enough to replace it. Cooking wise it is excellent.

I purchased a new Viking 3 Series French Door refrigerator with bottom freezer on 9/12/25. By 9/24/25, the refrigerator went DEAD!!!! A BRAND NEW REFRIGERATOR! No power. No refrigeration. All food items had to be removed from the unit. Upon immediate contact with Viking customer care, Mr Appliance, a certified Viking repair provider, was assigned to assess. On 9/29/25, the assessment showed a damaged/fried motherboard. Part was ordered. Days later, the motherboard was replaced. Still no power/refrigeration. The tech worked with Viking technical support to troubleshoot but no outcomes.

At this point we are at October 6th still inconvenienced with no refrigeration or compensation. The company gave push back regarding swapping out the unit. Instead, they decided to send out a second company to assess. A new company, Oceanic, came out a few days later. He replaced the motherboard. So we are at motherboard number “3”!!!! This triggered some cold air to the freezer with no lighting, no refrigeration or lights to the upper refrigerator area, and no power to the control panel on the inner lateral door. Refigerator is still unusable. The Oceanic tech ordered yet another mother board and a new upper control door panel.

As of today, 10/14/25, I have not had the further repairs to be done by Oceanic completed. I do not have a functional refrigerator unit. It has been out of commission since 9/24/25. I understand warranty, but I have made an expenditure for a supposed high-quality refrigerator that went dysfunctional in 12 days. The deplorable and disgraceful reality is that I was sold a LEMON and remain without refrigeration while the company expects me to accept the lack of service recovery and the inconveniences. The product is not holding up to the quality image of the company. Who would expect expensive Viking units to totally malfunction in less than 2 weeks of purchase. There has been no compensation.

After expressing discontent to the warranty rep and reiterating that we are WITHOUT REFRIGERATION, she stated “We will give you $250 if you go out and BUY another refrigerator to temporarily hold you over.” So instead of replacing their LEMON unit, they expect us to spend more money to buy yet another refrigerator while they take their time to fix a brand new unit that should not be in this predicament. This situation is unconscionable. I would have never expected this from this company. At this point, the unit should be switched out. How much longer do they expect me to be without refrigeration and at what point does the company take accountability for this faulty refrigerator. If the refrigerator had age, maybe we could stomach having to deal with unusual repairs but it is new!

He called Viking again and found out they gave him the wrong part number initially. It’s the reason it caught fire. We bought it in November but didn’t try to use it till February (we were out do the country). Came home and unfortunately no good. I believe a stove should last more than 4 months either way. Especially at this price point.

We’ve waited a few months at this point and while he was working on the stove it actually caught fire. They will not replace this new stove and we don’t feel comfortable keeping a stove that caught an electric fire. The unit smells like burnt electric. I bought my Viking double wall oven because it has knobs instead of a touch-screen, an analog clock, it's American-made, and it's gorgeous. Unfortunately, it does not function reliably or predictably. While baking, it has huge temperature swings above and below the desired temperature. This is especially bad for things like cookies, with short baking times. You have no idea if they'll come out underdone, perfect, or burned. It also takes a long time to pre-heat. Putting in service claims doesn't work well, either. So far, technicians have been out 3 times and it's just as bad as it was when it was installed a year and a half ago.

The part is not under warranty beyond the 1 year warranty which is very disappointing and in order for this part to be replaced, my repair team is essentially taking the entire oven apart since this not an easy part to access. Aside for the faulty gas regulator on our oven, I find that the oven is very noisy, once I begin baking - the fan turns on and continues to run for about 2 hours after I am done baking as the over cools down. I would have purchased a different range if I had known how noisy and long this fan runs every time I use the oven.

Viking!!!! NEVER AGAIN!!! Never even think about doing business with this manufacturer. They are not reputable and make no attempt at consumer satisfaction. I finally got what I thought would be, my dream stove. I waited a long time to splurge, but boy did I get taken. It was a "special order" gas model with 5 burners and griddle. Including the extended warranty with the dealer, I spent $6123.26 and waited 6 weeks to get it delivered. Before using the oven for cooking the instructions stated to use warm soapy water, rinse, then heat the oven to 450 degrees for 1 hour. This task could not be completed because the oven immediately failed upon start-up. The dealer from whom I purchased the stove sent their service technician to evaluate the issue.

The stove was diagnosed as having a dead ignitor board. A new board was ordered. Approximately 1 week later when the new board was installed, same thing, oven still did not ignite. In the meantime, in the process of removing the oven door to a gain access to the ignitor panel, the technician damaged the front of the door and bottom panel. The door, supposedly easily removed for cleaning purposes, was very challenging to reattach and kept slipping out of the slots. Now I have no oven and a scratched front on a brand new stove. Meanwhile, Viking is being very uncooperative with both the dealer and with me.

I contacted their customer service directly in an attempt to expedite a resolution to this mess. I was told to email a copy of my invoice to the agent and she would resolve the problem. That was some kind of joke!!!!! It has been well over 1 week since that conversation and no one from Viking has reached out to me. It seems that they may have a rehearsed script designed to placate clients until the client gets frustrated and gives up.

Clearly this stove did not get a proper inspection before leaving the factory. It should never have been released from the factory floor. Viking is insisting on replacing the ignitor board again, even though 2 have failed thus far. My stove was delivered on 1/24/2025 and it is now 2/21/2025 and I am still without a working oven. For a cook and baker this is a hardship!

Please never, never even consider doing business with this awful manufacturer. I understand that there may sometimes be issues with brand new appliances. However, I have the right to expect professional, honorable and fair treatment when attempting to resolve an issue with their product. That is not happening here. What the dealer and I are asking Viking to do is replace the stove in a timely manner. This stove is, no doubt, a "lemon" and should be trashed!!! If there existed an option to rate my experience, that rating would be NEGATIVE 10!!!

BUYER BEWARE. Do NOT get fooled by the Viking name. These appliances are complete trash and you will spend tens of thousands of dollars for cheap equipment that is inconsistent and unreliable. Do yourself a favor and just buy the mid-range Kitchenaid/Kenmore/LG stuff from Lowes. You will be better off.

On January 31, 2024 I purchased a brand new full suite of Viking appliances:
      - French door Double Oven
      - Dishwasher
      - Refrigerator
      - Induction Range top

      - Drawer microwave

The entire suite cost just under $31,000 from Appliances Connection, which went out of business the week after I purchased my items. In the year that I have had these appliances, I have had to call for service and repair more times than I've ever had to call for repairs for ALL of my appliances ever throughout my life. Double Oven. The oven temperature gauge is faulty. The over temperature fluctuates wildly between 20 and 60 degrees either undercooking or overcooking the food - I can't tell you how many meals that got burned to a crisp why the temp gauge was set to 350. There is NO digital temp readout on the oven. There is NO way to tell what temp your oven is actually at unless you buy an aftermarket oven probe.

Dishwasher. It stopped cleaning dishes about 9 months into ownership. Service came our multiple times and said it user error in how I was filling the dishwasher and blamed a clogged filter. The problem remained and got worse until eventually the unit threw an error code. After four service visits they finally agreed to order parts to fix it. The parts have been on indefinite backorder. I have been without a functional dishwasher for two months - (below are pictures of what my dishes look like AFTER I run a full heavy duty high gloss extra clean cycle).

Microwave. Finicky and delicate - it stopped working for no discernable reason a few weeks in, and the tech had to come out to reset it. Refrigerator/Freezer. The freezer ice maker arm was broken when we got it and a tech came out to fix it within the first months; it still breaks periodically but we've had to learn how to fix it ourselves. Then the freezer later just stopped working and had to be rebuilt around month six.

Viking is a total scam. The materials are flimsy, there are plastic connection points everywhere, nothing works are advertised or expected and to make all these matters worse, customer service is ABHORRENT. It's almost as if they know we've all been scammed and they're just part of the theater of fleecing their customers. I would do anything to get rid of these appliances and just buy a normal residential suite from a big box store.

I purchased multiple Viking appliances for the new kitchen I saved for over 10 years to complete. Their fridge freezer was over $10k, now 4 years old and multiple things broken from inside lights, shelves in the door, the door itself and the gasket seal. My stove, over $20k has been broken and out of action since Nov 2024. No one will respond to my cries of help or get anything done. The only thing still working is my dishwasher, I guess because that’s actually Bosch, sold under Viking.

I have had no problems with it and am generally pleased with the product. It makes ice like a champ. The only thing that is annoying is that the handles become loose from time to time and my husband has to tighten them.

Disappointed is an understatement! Regret falling into old beliefs that it is the best. Absolutely worst $5500 ever spent. In the first year of use has service technician in my house practically every week. One issue after another. Finally they replaced it and acknowledged is was a piece of defective junk. Second stove at least works but still: no timer, no temperature display, burners are so lightweight they fall off, iron panels you have the pots and pans on are uneven so oil is always on one side and only that side will fry food you have to constantly turn the pan to get even temperature distribution for food to fry evenly.

Oven is not as big as they say. 14-16 lb turkey barely fits. Baking is difficult because temperature is not corresponding to what your handle is set to. Handles are so sensitive that even if you walk by the stove they move. I cook a lot, this was the reason I went for the “top of the line”. Boy, was I wrong!...Big mistake! Viking is no longer what it used to be. Terrible in every way. Oh, forgot to say that oven door was replaced 3 times- was not closing properly there for oven was not keeping temperature. Once again it was a wrong move and waste of money.

In mid-November I bought 48" Viking Stove that turned out to be a total lemon. It has not been fully operational from day one. First, there was a convection oven fan stuck in "on" position that it took a month for a repair to turn it off. The turkey was very dry for Thanksgiving, I must add. Unfortunately, this was just the beginning of the list of problems. In the two months of ownership, the oven was operational for 2 weeks only. I’ve had three repair visits since initial installation which have included: replacing door hinges, broken rack, bent rack guides and the oven door. Currently, the stove as well as broil and griddle do not work due to the spark module failure and the parts are on backorder for 5 months!!!

Despite Viking's claims of high level of quality control, my experience is that it is non-existent. Also, there are many parts that are substandard and will most likely cause problems in the future including poor quality stainless steel. I should have done thorough research on Viking products instead of relying on my past experience with much older models. It appears that the "glory days" for Viking are long gone. My guess is that this explains why the company is so reluctant to replace a lemon rather than repair it; because there is no favorable chances that the replacement would be of a better quality than the one I got. Also, Viking’s customer service that is outsourced by Middleby Residential is painful to deal with, rude, and incoherent at times.

Don’t be fooled by what they say about Viking Rangers, etc. also, the majority of these reviews are paid reviews. Here’s my experience with Viking. Had a Viking freezer. Out of the two years I’ve had it. It’s probably been down seven weeks or more. They repaired it seven times before they replaced. I have a Viking oven. I also had issues with it. Thermostat quit working, the light in the oven fell back behind the oven. I was without an oven for about 20 days. Now to my Viking cooktop I’ve been without a cooktop now for a month waiting on Viking. All these appliances are under two years old as of today’s date. Before you spend a crazy amount of money for a high-end appliance stop and pay attention. Parts are very difficult to get the service on them sucks nobody wants to work on them if they’re under warranty. Just buy yourself a good old GE and be done with it put your ego in your pocket.

I bought a Viking range in December 2023. The oven did not work from the very beginning. It would not stay heated to bake anything. I had 12 people coming for Christmas dinner, so we had to put our old stove back in in order for us to host the dinner. The technician was able to fix it but less than 4 months later, the oven would not heat again. The technician again came to fix it. Fast forward to December 2, 2024. AGAIN, the oven does not work. It will not even turn on. I have been trying to get a technician to be able to come to fix it, having the parts, as he lives over an hour away from me. It is now December 19, 2024. Still no oven. I am again, hosting Christmas dinner for 10 guests. The customer service department is worthless. You might as well talk to the wall. The only thing they can tell you is what is in their scripts.

I contacted the VP of Operations and the CEO, trying to get the issue escalated, but no response. What is so sad about this situation is that it is an easy fix, if someone cared. All I am asking for is for the tech to have permission to use parts to fix the stupid oven. The other problem I have with the stove is with the cheap stainless steel that they use. It is speckled as the steel is rubbing off. This issue keeps getting ignored. Do not waste your money or your time that it takes to get any after purchase services in a timely manner. We had to buy another stove so that I can host people on Christmas Day. Of course, they will not consider a refund for the lemon range that they sell.

Our Thanksgiving is RUINED. We purchased over $35k of products from Viking over the past 5 months. My husband advocated for a different brand, but I convinced him Viking was the way to go. BAD MISTAKE. Here we are. It's Thanksgiving eve. I am SICK to my stomach. We have NO cooling in our fridge (just received 3 months ago). I'm devastated. Our turkey is getting bacteria. Our fridge is now 47 and freezer is 42 and it's NOT OK. This has been going on since Sunday and I tried to get Viking's attn since then via Social and LinkedIn. They sent a tech out last week but said 10 days to get a part. 10 DAYS!?!? Seriously? Have they not heard of FedEx overnight?

Do they not think ahead and think "Wow, it's a serious situation here with a customer who's just spent over $37k on a full kitchen of appliances in the past 6 months... We should take care of them, especially to ensure they are taken care of before a major holiday! We should give them the BEST service they deserve!.... Let's OVERNIGHT them a part and do the RIGHT THING and raise the bar on Customer Experience!" --- NO! Viking did NOT do that. Instead, they decide to drag their feet....and send the tech out AFTER Thanksgiving! (the day after). Which is NOT ACCEPTABLE!!

In addition, we have company in town. The tech said it could take 6 HOURS to repair the fridge! ARE YOU KIDDING ME!?!? Just send us a new fridge! This is no fault of ours. WHY should WE be put out and have to ENDURE THE PAIN of having to be put-out with techs coming to our house to fix something when it's distracting from our job and our life?!?! This is NOT OK!!! Take responsibility for your deficits and do the right thing by the customer and FIX THE PROBLEM in the MOST expeditious means to the consumer - Do NOT drag this out!!! (as I've seen you do via the BBB posts) - I will not be at your mercy on this for MONTHS as other consumers were!!

DO THE RIGHT THING AND GIVE US A NEW REFRIGERATOR! I spent 8 hours of my day today dealing with going to Home Depot buying a fridge just to last us through the holiday. Rented a truck to get it to our home. Paid people to take it off the truck and purchased straps and blankets to secure it in the truck. This was stress I did not need. My 70 year old parents were in town from Dallas having to absorb this stress as well. Your company owes us... Time, Stress, Money, aggravation, anxiety, wasted food that went bad. It's a LOT. I am expecting a resolution and I will get one.

I purchased a Viking range dishwasher and refrigerator a little more than a year ago. The range has had to be serviced twice. A light on the outside was missing and the door hinges failed. The dishwasher just recently had to have the whole control panel replaced. Each time I’m without the appliance for 2 weeks. While I did not purchase the most upper tier appliances they really should not have all their issues. There are some serious quality control issues at Viking.

We bought a 48" free-standing range oven (which comes with a large and a small oven). The hinges on the larger oven door are clearly undersized and failed after less than a year. We had them replaced under warranty. They then failed again before the warranty expired and had to be replaced under warranty. Just recently, they failed for a third time and we're out of warranty -- so Viking refused to replace them -- and customer service was very unhelpful -- just quoted the "rules". Given that the hinges are clearly a design flaw, I think they should have covered the repair again -- especially for a range oven that was more than $15,000. I would never buy Viking again. I had a Wolf range oven previously and it was so much better!

I don't like that on my ovens, the dials have tick marks. It's not digital. It doesn't have writing next to it. When I turn it to 350, trying to line up the two tick marks, the one on the dial you're turning and the one that's stationary on the unit, I couldn't tell if they're lined up. I just had Viking out fixing and it looks like it's at 350, but it could be at 340 or 355. I've been ruining food. I also don't like that it takes 30 minutes to heat up before you should start baking.

Cost is ridiculous. The stuff I had chosen and my husband nixed had dials that if the range was still on, the dial had a backlight like blue. So, you knew you left something on. I have now left things on a couple of times and I didn't know it. And as I get older, it's gonna get worse. Also, I don't love the pull-out racks. They're not simple like we usually see. There's one or two in each unit that have extra metal attached to them. I'm not sure how they're supposed to roll or work. It's not like you can easily pull it out and switch your height.

The Viking Range at start up shut down after 10 minutes when the installers went through the initial test. That was unfortunate. I couldn't do anything in the oven. The stovetop was fine. So, it was something within the ignition system, which was common. Viking knew what the problem was. It took 15 days before we had the parts. It has been running nicely since. If there was one thing I could tell Viking to do, I would tell them to make that chrome griddle for the 5 Series. The griddle is tacky looking on that. You can get that with the 7 and much nicer looking. If I could do mine all over again, I would either get a 7 or I would get all burners on my 5 because I don't like the look of it.
