The Viking rep I worked with was excellent. She showed me some of the features and demonstrated what it could do. Also, at the same time, the Wolf representative was there, and I was not as impressed with Wolf as with Viking. She demonstrated melting chocolate on a paper plate over a burner without burning the plate. Wolf did the same thing and they both said, "No other range does it." But the burners are the thing that sold me on the Viking, the precision, and the ability to control the heat so precisely. Price-wise, it's a lot for a range. But it's worth it.

I like that Viking has a fifth burner on a 30-inch range. I also like the look of the knobs and the front panel has an old-fashioned look. It looks very sturdy. It's a high-quality product. The oven works great. The stovetop grills are super heavy. They're cast iron and great grills. They never slide and nothing moves on them. The only thing I didn't realize was how many BTUs (18,000) on a burner. I've had to adjust cooking 'cause most of the standards are usually 12,000.

I've been using an induction hot plate for the last six months, and I finally went shopping and was so pleased to find Viking had a model for a residential kitchen. It fits right in where my old one came out. I love it. I'm still getting used to the burners because it's different than my old stove. I researched for four months. I listed everything I didn't want in a stove. And Viking fit everything I didn't want. And the extras it had that I liked were the separate knobs for the oven, that it didn't have a bunch of electronics. Also, I'm a huge baker so I love the three racks in the oven. And I like that one rolls out so I don't have to slide it and lift my stuff off it.

On my old stove, I couldn't slide pots across the top. This one has grates clear across the top. I like the flexibility, and I can turn this down to simmer, and turn it up high. The only thing is the I had to have my meat board moved because the side of it got too hot up against the stove. And we lifted the stove up a little. On simmer, it's fine. But anything else, I was afraid it would start to cause a fire with my meat board. Other than that, I love the stove. I love the style and simplicity, and the BTUs of the burners. Get one.

The Viking Range has good quality. We had two issues with the knob. But other than that, it's fine. We like that it doesn't have any electronics. It's all old-fashioned with the gas. The sales rep said they were having an incentive for the dishwasher too. So we got a Viking dishwasher. He was able to sell the product and give us a rebate on the dishwasher.

We've had Viking Ranges for the past 30 years. My wife is a very good cook and she won't cook on anything except Viking’s gas stoves. We love the range, which was why we chose the 5 series 30-inch Viking range over every other product on the market. We didn't want any digital because we had a couple of Viking wall ovens, and it cost us dearly because those electronic panels failed and there were no replacement panels. So, we were glad to see that this doesn't have any digital components. It's all the old-fashioned turn knob without all the bells and whistles.

There's an oven light on the temperature but it doesn't tell you what the temperature is. You have to guess. When you preheat the oven, you have no idea how long it's gonna take to heat and you don't see the temperature. So, they should have a temperature gauge on the outside, which is simple. If you put it on barbecue grills, they could have put it on the oven here.

The 48-inch-wide Viking range has a small oven and a large oven. The large oven didn't work at all out of the box. When you’re gonna spend about $12,000 for a stove instead of going to Home Depot and buying something for 2,000, you expect the best of the best. And we didn't get the best of the best. It’s brand-new so I called the dealer who sold it to us. They got somebody out there relatively quickly and they made the first repair. But it did not fix it. So, the techs came out a second time about two weeks later.

Since we've used the oven the second time, we're finding it takes multiple times to start. When you turn the oven on, you'll hear the gas come on and you'll hear the igniter click. Then it stops. A few seconds later, you hear it click again and it stops. Then 15 or 20 seconds later, it repeats and then will start. So, it's not starting the first time as it would with the small oven. The small oven is working exactly as it's supposed to. The large oven, even with the second repair is still not operating as it's supposed to.

My wife and I were talking about sending an email to the dealer because we're not 100% confident that after two repairs done by them, the Viking range was repaired correctly. I was gonna write a letter to the dealer this afternoon that they may wanna come out here for a third time. We have a thermometer and when it's in the small oven, we set it at 450 degrees. The other thermometer that we put in there says it's 450 degrees. When we put it in the large oven and we set the dial to 450 degrees, the other thermometer only shows it's at 425. So, it’s not where it's set according to my thermometer which is working properly because it's accurate on the small oven.

My Viking range is a cooking stove, like a restaurant stove. And there's no timer. I gotta be precise and on my game as to what I make. I like that because it's even-tempered. It's got good heat. And you don't have to wait on it. It gets there quickly. Also, I like the way it cooks. I had a little trouble at first with turning it on, but I see now how that goes and where you won't get the response. Because I would turn it on, and it would do a click, click, click, but I would smell gas. But I was just not setting it. And if I put the convection on, wait until I get that where it starts, and put the convection. So, I'm learning.

It also has a pullout tray for drippings in the middle of the oven. I was able to get the parts for the thing that broke down and the service technician came out to repair and get it running. But Viking could improve on the ability to clean it.

Only buy a Viking if you are ok with replacing it after 10 years. I was told mine would last 20, but I started having major problems with the parts including the main board which I foolishly replaced 3 times. After spending over $4,000 repairing it, I wish I had purchased a more reliable brand with better customer service. Once the short warranty is up they will not help in any way. Since I did purchase many Viking replacement parts and none of them lasted past a year, I thought they would offer a refund for failed parts or a discount on a new oven. Had they done that I would buy another Viking, but the customer service is terrible - it is certainly not worth the price.

It's out of warranty so Viking sent me to the appliance repair people. There's nothing that can be done with the door unless we replace the whole range. It wasn't manufactured right. I bought a new Viking range and oven a few years ago. At the time I thought I was investing in quality and so I was willing to pay 5 or 6 times the cost of a standard make/model. Since then I have needed three service calls to fix issues. Two of those have been linked to bad quality of the oven door causing it to not close fully. This in turns heats the range controls and causes the entire unit to shut down. This is a simple model. No wifi, bluetooth and all the other gizmos that some brands throw in (for a fraction of the price I might add.) You would expect a high end oven manufacturer to be able to make a door that works. So build quality gets 1 star. Then you enter the world of Viking support. My range is still on warranty so I went through Viking for my repair. 5 weeks later and I am still not able to use my oven.

The local repair company tells me that they are waiting for a part. This is a new range, how can Viking not have parts to support the new products they are selling at hugely inflated prices, especially when they are so prone to problems. These door issues seem to be widespread from what I've read online. (See the review on this site from the lady who waited months with the door removed from her oven. Why she gave a 5 * review I don't know.) Based on this you are better off getting a cheaper model from Home Depot and throwing it away when you start having problems. You could get through 5 or 6 of those for the price of a Viking and have less down time and frustration. The Viking customer service folks commit to helping and then never call back. So 1 * for customer care.

I was looking for something that was in an upper tier from what I've gotten from regular box stores that are all over the country. We have looked at a few different brands. But I was specifically looking for something that was in that size and did not have the griddle plate in it. I wanted it to be all burners. Originally, we were looking at a range cooktop that was a Dacor, which is a little bit of a cheaper price range, but still a nicer range. But we decided to get rid of our wall oven and needed something that had both the oven and the cooktop in the 48-inch size without a griddle.

Viking has one of the only options. I went through a site that my work had that helps connect and find the products. They had a rebate deal running so that made the incentive a little bit better. I had a little bit of trouble finding the information that I needed to enter the registration. My house was being remodeled, and the construction guys had moved the paperwork. But I was able to find them once I found where they put the paperwork and enter it online. There were a lot of options on the site. We went out and looked on the other brands that were in that size and looked them up but there was not as much review on quality. There's been a lot more extensive study on the Viking from professional chefs that say it works. They don't have a lot of electronics in there yet so there hasn't been proven to have a problem.

We were happy that Viking was in here when we bought a new house. There was a minor problem with the oven which someone fixed real quick. We're just having to get used to a gas oven. We never had one before. We baked things on 400. Now we gotta turn it to 450 to get it done in about the same length of time. Also, there's not a timer or clock on it. All the stuff my wife cooks is timed, so she would do it on her phone. That would be an addition that would be nice. Other than those, we're happy with the range. But we don't like the dishwasher at all. It's got spots on it. We read about it and tried to figure it out, but down in the space itself, it leaves stains and it doesn't clean as good as the JennAir we had. We're very dissatisfied with the dishwasher.

Our first experience with a Viking range was when we were redoing our kitchen and there was a floor model at a home show in Minneapolis that had been sold. We asked the distributor ahead, "Do you have anything else available?" They had a 5-foot, six-burner griddle stove that fit perfectly into our kitchen remodel. We bought that product and we really like the way it worked. We had a lot of issues with it, but almost all of it was covered under the warranty. When one of the thermostats was a little wonky, they replaced that. When the delivery guys broke a knob bringing it into the house, they replaced that too.

We've purchased another Viking range, but the old one we had was awesome. It was a floor model that had been around for a while. It clearly wasn't a brand-new stove, but the value we got out of it was fantastic. We like to entertain, and it handled a 100-person party with no problem. We also like to cook for shelters, and we cooked for homeless people on it. The stove was a workhorse for us. It was reliable and easy to do whatever we wanted on the stove. The other thing I liked about that product was if things wore out, I could order parts and fix it myself. I'd tell people, "If you can afford it, you should buy it."

We've owned a Viking range for at least 20 years. We bought a new one to replace the old Viking. We like the ability of the oven to heat to higher temperatures. It has a commercial quality to the cooking that a lot of other ovens do not. The burners are gas and the oven is electric. We use the range daily. My wife is a cook, and she likes to cook. So, gas burners are important to her and the quality of the oven is important to her.

I'd tell others to be very careful when dealing with Viking. They should look around. We had so many problems with the one we bought. It's been 18 months now that we bought the replacement. Immediately, we had problems with the door closing completely. You have to put a chair up against it to keep it closed. The repair people came and it was under warranty. They came three times to replace the hinges that were not working properly. And after the third try, we persuaded the supplier to replace the oven. We got the second new oven and it also malfunctioned.

This time, the oven, which we bought because of the way it can heat, wouldn't heat the maximum that we needed. All of this involves calling Viking and getting an authorized repair person. Then they showed up, ordered the part, and then we waited some more. After two visits, they finally found that one of the burners wasn't working properly and had to replace it, and they did. Now, it seems to be working properly. But for the past 18 months, this $9,500 oven has malfunctioned with long periods of interruption waiting for repairs. This is bizarre for such an expensive item.

We didn't have these problems with the other one we had. Now, most appliances we find are not as good as they were. They're using cheaper parts. Clearly, the quality has slipped at Viking. As far as customer service, they were not responsive. After the third initial problem with the door, they still wouldn't replace it. My wife had to call the head of the local supplier. I would not recommend it.

I just got four new Viking appliances as a replacement for old Viking appliances. I am very pleased with how the refrigerator, the dishwasher, the stove, and the beverage refrigerator work. What we were very disappointed with is that three of the four were delivered with problems. On the stove, the broiler burner doesn't turn on though. What happens is it turns on in a small flame. Then about two minutes later, we get an explosion and the door pops. It's dangerous. So, that was disappointing. Then there are a couple of finish things. One side of the stove was dented and it was made that way. They didn't get it in place on the bottom correctly. They bolted it on the top, and then they hit it with their hands to try and bang it in and it didn't go in. It was all warped. I was like, "How do you send it to a customer this way?"

We really like the range besides the burner not working, which I'm sure will get fixed. When the guy came to look at it, he tried to bend it to make it work. It only doesn't work when it's cold. Once it's warm, it works. So, it's a funky problem. The thing is nobody tried it at the factory so you know it wasn't that way. We had an old 36-inch range that was 20 years old, and this is the replacement for it. Some of the improvements that are a lot better are the knobs and the way the knobs work, the lighting, and the griddle. The griddle which we had on our older one was not as good as this one. This one is a commercial griddle. It's all stainless steel. We really like it. We like the oven racks that slide on wheels versus the old ones that were hard to pull out and push in.

We like the dual fuel feature of our Viking range. The burners on the top run by gas, then the oven runs on electric. It enables a more precise temperature, whereas a gas oven usually has a 5 to 10-degree swing to it. Last night we had pasta, then we also made some bread. So, we used both. We also frequently use all the elements of the range. We use the griddle and make a lot of pancakes. And we've cooked steaks on that griddle.

The product, as it is today, we're happy with and it seems to be working well. But the product that was delivered and the process to get it delivered, we were not happy with. Initially, it was making a noise and it sounded like an engine starting up. For a $17,000 product, it didn't really feel like it should be making that kind of noise. So, we had to have somebody out. The first techs came to see what was wrong and said they'd fix that. Then, they came out a second time to do the repair, but they realized that they had the wrong kind of part. We had to schedule a third time for somebody to come out with the right part and they ended up replacing some fan on it. So, that was three different sets of phone calls, organizing, four-hour windows for the techs to show up, waiting for them to do the work, having the dogs barking at them, and having them leave.

For a brand-new product, I would hope that there's some kind of quality control for this sort of obvious issue on a product this expensive that's supposed to have this very high-end reputation. The fact that it was broken out of the box is disconcerting to me. So, I need time to really let it operate and see what's going to happen before I advice my friends to purchase it. Aside from the issues with the fan, we had multiple issues with the install. We were told we could have it in January and we got it at the end of February. And we didn't really get good updates about it. But it wasn't Viking’s problem and it would go back to the retailer.

Other than that, when I called Viking to ask a question, I got a person on the phone who answered the phone quickly and thoroughly. And I was very satisfied with that interaction. But the navigation of their website was clunky. When I had to submit some information on their system for the rebate program, my experience was very dissatisfying. For a 10% cash rebate, which is not an insignificant amount of money, you submit via some kind of platform, but you got absolutely no confirmation whatsoever that you submitted correctly, that you provided the right paperwork, or that it was received. You put your email address in and you don't even a canned message back that says they got your application and they'd let you know if there were any questions. I had to call the dealer to ask if they got what I sent in. And then even for them, they had to figure out who to call and ask.

My Viking range is cool and it's big and bakes quickly too. When you roast chicken with it, it's still moist. Most of the time, when you bake it in other ovens, it tends to get dry. I like the fun in it. It circles everything in there. Anything I bake or cook in it, doesn't come out dry. If I bake bread in it, it comes out all nice and has a perfect color. I also like that it doesn't take too long. If a recipe calls for an hour, in less than an hour, everything's going to be cooked and perfect.

I love the capacity too. It's perfect. I had one before and it was bigger outside. The capacity of this one is small but inside it's so big, I love it. The only thing, the grill could get stained quickly. If anything falls on it, like the oil, it tends to stain. But if others want the perfect stove for cooking and baking, Viking is the stove to get.

Cooking-wise, the range is excellent. It has very good performance, as promised. They work to perfection. The heating elements and the convection oven work up to expectations. But they don't have any technology added to it or anything special. It's just a straight cooking and design. Cosmetic-wise, for the price you pay, it should be upgraded further. The bottom part of the oven gets roasted easily. The sliding and the grates also get roasted and look very well-used easily. I don't even have a year with mine and I have to change the burners because they were broken. So they can do better on that.

Viking has the worst customer service. They are rude. I have problems with my roasting. It was fairly new and it was chipping on top so I wanted to get service. I contacted them before the holidays in December but I just got service this week. I thought because of the holidays, no one got back to me. They required information and the model. So I emailed it to them and then I called back. I was told that the representative was not there any longer. So that was why I didn't get help. Then that other representative I got was very rude, at first. But she did what she needed to do. She followed up and I got my service. But it took me a good three months to get through to someone. I had to get firm with them before I got it. So I don't recommend their customer service to anyone.

There is a recall, actually many recalls, for Viking ranges. I have one of those ranges and the thermostat has failed. Dangerous because it turns on your range at random. I have been without my range for five weeks waiting for them to send the recalled part. They originally sent it to the wrong address. For the past three weeks they do not answer when I call. I have started over three times and get promises of return calls but never hear anything. This is a six thousand dollar range. When I purchased the Viking Range, it was great. Everything was smooth. AJ Madison was the company I used to purchase through. However, I've had to have a guy come out here once. The left oven is finicky, the smaller of the two. It either doesn't fire up initially or fires up, cooks for 5 minutes, and shuts itself off. When the tech came out the first time, it fired up and it worked and seemed totally fine when the tech got here. But then it's gone back to its original state since he left. The guy called me this morning. He was gonna call somebody over at Viking to talk to them about what they would recommend, then he can get back to me. Either he'll come out sometime this week or he'll let me know what the options are. There's also a rebate I'm supposed to get and I haven't got it yet.

Something with the metal plate inside of it. He replaced it and it's been working great since. What I didn't know about it that I found out is the oven, when you change the temperature on it, you have to turn it off and then turn it back on. I like that and I thought that was a cool feature on it.

But I was happy that Viking replaced that range and gave us a new two-year warranty. We've had our new Viking Range for over one year. And the hinges on the big door of the oven just broke. But someone came out and fixed it within three weeks. The only other issue I've noticed is whatever the product is that they have that surrounds the actual knob melted from the heat of the oven. But I like that it's a functional gas oven and stovetop.

I have a $6,000 range that doesn't work. I just had a Viking-authorized repair company here two weeks ago to change the spark unit. This is the fourth time since I've owned it and it still malfunctions. I went online to try to see if I'm the only one and of course, I'm not. The best I could tell, Viking changed the design of their spark units in the burner base and since then, they don't have any problems anymore. I have a six-burner top and they're about $200 apiece to replace them. I'm going to ask them to help me with the price on that, given that we've had so much trouble with this unit. Also, Viking told me they don't have their own repair group. I don't believe that's true because I've seen Viking vans. They have been unhelpful from the beginning. The only thing they did was, within a month of us installing it, we had the sparker replaced and they paid for that. But since then, it's all been on me.

We renovated an old home 25 years ago and at that time, we wanted a more commercial range. My husband's family had had experience with Viking and we went off of that experience. Then, when that range needed to be replaced, we did our research and we found that to get a similar commercial range with the options that we wanted, Viking was the more affordable brand. The quality is good. We have an electric oven, which is my favorite part of this, and my cooktop has a really high BTU, which was one of the things that we did not want to lose from our old Viking.

This oven is a huge improvement over the old one that we had. There was a design problem with the old one's igniters on the bottom. About every six months, we would have to fix it and replace the igniters. I love having conduction and I'm thrilled about switching to the dual fuel and I'll have a self-clean option if I want to use that. The only downside of the convection oven is, because of the fan in the back of it, I did not realize I wasn't gonna be able to use a full sheet pan. That was the only surprise from the whole thing. Other than that, one of the changes that they made between the two models is the cooktop surface in and around the burners is miles easier to clean than it was. I can pull off my grates, wipe the whole thing down, and put those grates back.

But that's okay because everything is old fashioned. It's been made the same way for the last 60 years. There's no computer. Everything is a dial. I could turn the knob, which is nice in a way. They should make an effort to streamline what is needed rather than people figuring out what needs to be bought. The panel that goes over the neighboring countertop, there's a little attachment, and all those cost quite a bit. The front plate also has to be ordered separately.

When I purchased the Viking range back in September, unfortunately, it came damaged so I had to return it and get a new one. I bought it through Best Buy. The process to return it was smooth and easy. About a week later, I got a new one. The new range, unfortunately, also came damaged. Once this one was installed, the gas started dispersing everywhere. Best Buy has a 15-day return policy. It went over the 15-day because I was doing some construction at the same time. I wanted to finish the construction and then install it. Unfortunately, it went over the 15 days, and Best Buy said, “Well, you can't return it anymore, so now you have to go through Viking.”

Apart from registering my gas range, I called Viking and filed a claim like anything else. Within that claim, they had to disperse that information to Executive Appliance, which is the company that services Viking and other products in Southern California. So then I had to call them and make an appointment. Somebody came out. Fortunately, I have my old gas range. I still had it so I was able to keep using my oven. But because that one wasn't installed, the company said, “Well, they're there to repair something. If it's not installed, then they can’t repair it.” The guy left. I had to make another appointment.

A week later, another individual came out but by this time, I took out my current gas range, and placed my new Viking one that still is packaged with film on it. I didn't connect it because it was leaking gas. The new technician just kind of verified the burner in the back was broken. So, that was the reason why as soon as you plug it in and turn the gas on, gas flew everywhere. He placed it as non-repairable. Then he made an appointment for somebody to come over.

This company called me again and said, “Hey, we need to go there and get a second opinion." That was when I started getting frustrated. It became week after week after week, and I sort of get a little frustrated. I said, “Hey, look. I haven't used this gas range.” I took some pictures. The technician took pictures. He put in the report that it’s pretty much non-repairable. I think that qualified for a new gas range.

“No, no. We gotta come and do a second opinion.” So, they came and did a second opinion. They said, “Look, we specialize in fixing Viking, so we can get a part for it.” I bought a very expensive gas that I've never used. Unfortunately, it came back wrong the first time. Second time, because I took an extra week to finish my repair before I installed it, but It came with a broken gas burner pipe. So, I had to go through the process.

I said, “Wait a minute, I haven't used it. Even if you do repair it, I'm getting a refurbished gas range that I've never opened.” It still has the film on the side. It has the packaging on the actual handles. They were very adamant that I gotta go through the shop. They said, “If it be required for a second opinion to go do a deep dive of what the issue could be, and if we see it as you’ll get a new one, you'll get a new one. If not, we'll just repair the gas burner.”

Three weeks passed by, and I called and said, “Hey, well, how's my gas range? Have you guys done the check that even the technician that came over clearly saw, I saw…? “Oh, we're still gonna look at it. We haven't done it yet.” I called three different times the other day. Finally, they decided, “Ok, so we did check it, and we ordered the part. And there's a back order of three weeks. And your part won't get here until January, February.”

My wife happened to be at Best Buy where she bought the product, and she was buying something for a sink. The gentleman that sold us the Viking said, “How’s your Viking range?” My wife was like, “Well, it looks like I got a curse because I haven't even installed it and used it. They said this, this, this, and this.” He was floored for some reason, and he was very nice and he made some phone calls. I called Viking as well, and Viking, at the same time, had a claim as well, and they were going through the process.

The gentleman at Best Buy helped us out, and it kind of accelerated the process. Liz, which was from Viking, called me and said, “Hey, you got approved to get a replacement. So then I called Executive Appliance and said, “Hey, Viking says I'm gonna get a replacement.” They didn't really know much about it. I guess the information wasn't being clearly going to them. So finally, it was resolved and I am gonna get a new Viking Range. It was gonna get shipped out to Executive Appliance, and then they're gonna come and do the installation.

When I received the range, the oven door was not properly constructed. The inside of the door on the left-hand side was falling in and it was loose. So they fixed that. They said there was a stripped screw under construction. They said there was a stripped screw under construction. I have an LP six-burner stove. And I think because it's liquid propane, it's not that common. I've had a service tech out here three times. And I'm still getting big puffs when I turn off the flame. Also, when I do my oven, as the oven is warming up, it would give a big pop. The bottom panel appears to be adjusting to the heat. It sounds like a little explosion. Now I'm used to it, but I don't think that's normal. The range is beautiful and it was something I worked very hard and long to get. And I'm not as excited about it as I thought I would be. It's unfortunate.

I don't think when I turn off my stove I should stand back and be concerned that the fire is not going out without it giving a big puff. One morning I woke up and the flames were yellow. I did some internet research as to why my propane would be yellow, and come to find out that since I was running a cool air humidifier in the bedroom the night before, that puts moisture and chemicals in the air. I called the second time and I was frightened by that point. I said, "I'm not sure that I should be using the stove. I don't know if this is safe." Viking called somebody out from across town.

But by the time he got here, the flames weren't yellow anymore. I showed him the video and he said, "This is a head-scratcher If it happens again, I'll have to get somebody else out here." It happened two days in a row and the second day, I found out about the little hack. I didn't run the humidifier during the third night and sure enough, the next morning, the flames were blue. The tech has come out three times and I don't think he knows enough about the product to be the one out here. Viking should send someone else.

Other than that, I love how I can adjust the flame and bring it down to the smallest simmer. That makes all the difference in the world and I love that part of it.

Our previous Viking range was awesome. I used it for 15 years. It was an open burner range, and when you turn up the heat on the range top, as you turn the knob, the flame would increase. It was easy to cook without having to look and see how high the flame was. I liked the way that it cooked. I also liked the consistency of it. Unbeknownst to us, Viking changed their design between our last range and this new one that we got a few months ago. The new ranges don't operate in the same way. I've been told by three different people that are associated with Viking that it's because the way that the shafts are now designed. They're different than what they were. As you turn them, there are spots in the shaft where the gas goes down in height when you're turning the range up. I don't like that at all.

If you hit one of those dead spots when you're turning it down, instead of turning it down slightly, it turns way down. It takes three or four minutes then you realize that it's not high enough so you start turning it up again. It's not nearly as easy to cook on. The working range that the dealer has in the showroom isn't nearly as dramatic with these dead spots. I've been told by the technical support people that it's because they don't have as much pressure in their gas because in the showroom, they’re distributing gas all over the place whereas we've got the range, the furnace and the hot water heater. They tested our gas pressure and it's within tolerance of what it's supposed to be for optimum performance, but it's not performing like I would like it. I've been told that that's just the way it is. If they could make a range that worked like my old range, they could make a new one like that.

On the actual burners, when you put the burner plates on and the grids, there are three pieces. The company we purchased it from was inconsistent in how they put them on. It turned out that they put some of them on backwards. The first service company that came out when we complained about how the range operated was consistent. They put all of them on backwards. We got a second service company involved, and the guy walked in and started taking the components off the stovetop. He said, “Here's part of the problem. All your burners are installed backwards.” I’m disappointed that the authorized service company for Viking doesn't know which direction those things are supposed to go. Viking is a premium brand, and they charge a premium price. But you are not getting a premium product.

The dealer was great with regards to the time that they took to do the installation and giving general instructions. They were always very helpful and willing to give advice and estimated timelines for things coming in and the installation date.

The quality of Viking ranges has gone down precipitously. They're using a less expensive stainless steel that rusts. The vent in the back of our range is rusting on the inside and it's very difficult to keep clean on the outside of it. There are two types of vents and this is the shorter of the two vents. It sticks up in the back of the stove and vents hot air out. The quality of the racks has gone down as well. The diameter and the thickness of the racks has gone down.

This Viking range was making a lot of noise, too. It was oil canning. When you would turn the oven on, at a certain point, there would be a loud boom. They’ve since fixed that by screwing it down. The Viking dealer passed us off to somebody who said they were going to come fix the Viking range, and we couldn't get ahold of them, until finally, we got a hold of a second party who came out and fixed the Viking range. They knew exactly what was going on and they got the part from Viking to fix it. We also have a Viking hood which is making a lot of noise and I don't know how to fix that. The noise would go away after a while but I've not experienced that before.

Other than that, the range does an adequate job cooking and I like that you could take it apart and clean it pretty easily. But if they need to charge more for the same quality of Viking range from 20 or 30 years ago, then they should do so. The price was a little high and it was a lot of money to be paying for a range made of an inferior stainless steel in some of the parts of the range. But I've had no difficulty with their website.

I bought a home that had a Viking Series 5 range installed in it already. It was a new construction home that didn't meet my specifications because I like to cook. I wanted a Wolf because I cooked with a Wolf before and when I asked if the builder would exchange the Viking for a Wolf, they said they would give me an incentive if I switched to the Series 7, which is Viking’s highest-end. So, I upgraded to the dual-fuel Series 7.

The oven is as good if not better than the Wolf but the stove is horrendous and an embarrassment for a high-end piece of equipment. It doesn't have a very good simmer function, which is critically important for a high-end stovetop range. Wolf's orders of magnitude are better. So even though the ovens are quite nice, the stovetop leaves a lot to be desired. People should buy a Wolf if they're in that price range. The Viking Series 7 does not justify the price point at which it is placed simply because it doesn't have any good low-end temperature control on the stove. The range fell a little bit short of expectations.

When the Viking range came, the measurement was off by a bit, and I had to spend a lot of time on the phone with customer support to get it right. I mentioned, "You know what? Maybe I should have went with the Whirlpool." I didn't get the feeling that they were too sharp. The width of the gas range is supposed to be 36 inches, but the problem is that the top was 35 and 8 inches, but the bottom of it was 36.5. It didn't fit into my space, and I was stressed out a bit. I had to take off the screw and push and squeeze it down a little 'cause it was off by a quarter of an inch. Eventually, my contractor had to take care of it for me, and it didn't give me a good feeling, like the Viking range wasn't as good as the price I paid for it. Other than that, I like the touch and feel of it. It's solid.

Very precise. The salesperson was also very responsive. I also ordered a refrigerator, dishwasher and range hood. After I got the range hood, when I was trying to install it, I realized that I needed to buy a motor for the range hood, which no one had ever told me about. I would have expected the salesperson to say, "If you're buying that range hood, you need a motor to go with it." That was a surprise and a little disappointment. 'Cause the motor was $800. But their customer service has been very good.

The quality of the Viking Range has been excellent, so far. It's a great range and it's good performing. It cooks great. I like how the oven heats up very quickly. I like the responsiveness of the gas burners and the variability in the burners. I replaced the KitchenAid that I did not like at all because it was either too hot or it would turn itself off. I had a KitchenAid that I was never happy with for six years.

I like my Wolf oven better because of the built-in features and it has a temperature probe and it cooks itself when you program everything in. But on the other hand, the Viking cooks equally well. I just don't have those extra features on it. A timer would also be nice.

I love our Viking range. I'm the primary user of the device and I cook two meals a day minimum on it. I love the exhaust system. We got an external exhaust mount but the front right burner of the range has extra power to be able to boil water at an extremely fast pace. It has a higher BTU output. When I purchased the range, I called Viking and told them what I wanted. They took the order and sent me this design spec sheet so my contractor could make sure it was built right. Their customer service was excellent.

Other than that, it would be nice if Viking let me know what the temperature of the oven was. The range has no temperature gauge and there is no temperature whatsoever as of what the internal temperature is. So, you can set the dial on the outside, but the only way that you know it got to that temperature is that the gas goes off. And for a $9,000 range, that's a little weak.

I went with Viking for the reputation that it’s had. It carried a lot of weight. I have a 60-inch gas range, and I'm really enjoying that. I haven't done a lot of baking with it yet, so I'm curious to see how that's going to work out, but I love the range. It cooks really well. However, I have had to have service on my appliances already, which I wasn't too pleased about considering what I spent on them. My refrigerator came with a big dent in it, so when that got installed, I had to look at that. A technician came with a new skin to replace that, and the hole for the emblem was drilled out in the wrong place. Now I have to wait for another new skin for my refrigerator door. I've been dealing with that since the appliances were installed in August.

The technician has been really great. He's very knowledgeable with the appliances. As a matter of fact, I had my lower-level microwave that I didn't realize I was having issues with it. I pointed it out to him and he's helping me to get that taken care of now. Overall, the issues I've had haven't been that bad. Viking is a good product, and I can see the difference in the quality. No complaints on that end. As a personal preference though, I wish I would have thought about something different besides doing the built-in refrigerator because I don't have as much room. There's not a lot of depth to it. I wish I had the opportunity to that see in person, but when I purchased this, they did not have a store nearby to see what the depth was going to be like.

I saw Viking ranges at a showroom of a kitchen design store here in my town and I like the quality of the product. I have a family of five and I have three growing boys. They also have some dietary restrictions. So, we really eat home predominantly instead of eating out. So, I'm constantly using the appliances, and they've been great. They've been very reliable. They've worked really well. It's taken me a little time to get used to the electric stove because I have one gas and one electric.

I like the durability of the product. I feel like it's a strong product that's going to last. The oven racks are very easily able to slide in and out but at the same time, they seem strong so I can put something heavier in there. The cooking is consistent each time, too. So, I like that. As far as the care and the clean-up, it's easy. The top of the range is black. So, it does show more food spots. My previous appliance was like a stainless-steel color on the top. I like the look of the black, but I will say that being someone that's particular about keeping it clean, it shows a lot more on there. I love the quick boil burner because I do a lot of things where I want to boil water quickly. So, I rely on that specific burner a lot. I also like the flexibility of having various other size burners to use simultaneously.

The purchase of our Viking range was fine. Delivery and setup were A-OK. We've been having some problems with a couple of our burners, though. So, we've had to have repair folks come out to address that and it's still not fully solved yet. For a while, two of our burners wouldn't ignite at all. They were making a clicking sound but not lighting even though gas was getting to them. Viking sent our local repair folks two replacement burners. So, those were installed and those two still do not work. So, it was getting escalated up the chain. Some of the engineering folks were looking into it. They were gonna send some other parts and we haven't heard back. It's been about a month.

The Viking tech was saying that we could just light it using a long lighter for safety purposes. We've been doing that. The oven, though, works totally fine. The last we spoke with the repair folks was that they had replaced the two burners. That didn't seem to work. They were gonna replace some other parts, and if that didn't work, then maybe it's like replacing the whole unit.

In most of Hawaii, the ranges are electric, and the one we purchased is dual fuel so the oven part is electric, then we selected propane for the stovetop. We like that feature, to be able to do an extra low simmer. Also, the oven cooks very evenly.

The range is a very nice piece of equipment, but I was a little disappointed that the appliance company that sold it to us did not accurately represent its age of manufacture. This particular unit was showroom-floor new and it was marked down enough to make it within my ability to purchase as compared to a Wolf or the other high-end one that my wife and I were talking about. The appliance company marked it down to almost half its original retail price and made it sound like it was just a close-out.

We understood that the Viking range we got was the showroom floor model, but the appliance company did not accurately represent to me the fact that the range was 10 years old. Its manufacture date was 2013, so there were issues on getting some warranty issues addressed. However, the appliance center eventually got those situations resolved. The customer service was good. The oven was not holding its temperature like it was supposed to. We set it at 400 and we got 400, then it wouldn't cycle back on till it was all the way down to 325. We had to use an outside vendor to get it repaired and they replaced the oven thermostat.

We had problems with the burners igniting, and we had difficulty getting it serviced, then within two years, the oven broke. I got fed up, so we got rid of it and bought the Viking range instead. We've had it for less than six months, and it seems to be very high quality. I'm a cook, and I cook all the time. I have noticed that it's very consistent, and I like it very much. With my previous oven, I had to rotate baked goods halfway through or they wouldn't brown correctly. I don't have that with this one. I like the broiler too. Our Viking is a great range. I was aware of them as a more expensive product. I had a moderately-priced electric stove that I needed to replace. I really couldn't find the features that I wanted from the previous brand I had or any other brand in that price range, and the Viking had so many more features. I needed a backsplash that you could attach, a short one, but many models have eliminated that completely because people use the slide-in type of range. Also, the number of burners on the unit were far superior to everybody.

The design of my range is wonderful and it looks absolutely wonderful in my kitchen. I knew it would but I was trying to avoid that high price point. Eventually, I decided that was what I wanted. So, we got it and it's a pleasure to use it. It's unbelievable how precise the unit elements are. You have so many settings that you can put it on. It sautés incredibly well. The food tastes better. It cooks quicker. The previous range I had was a Bosch which was very nice, but the elements would cycle on and off. It didn't hold the temperature. It would reach the temperature and then cycle off. So the temperature would go down. I really didn't realize it was doing that to the point it was changing how the food was being cooked.

With my Viking, I can sauté and have it beautifully brown and moist inside and everything's done in about seven minutes. It's unbelievable. So, it's an excellent product. It has a triple element. So, you have three different size pans you could put there. There are four others on the surface where you can choose from where to locate your pots and what size pots you wanna use. My favorite feature is the ability to pick a temperature. You have so much control with an electric range. It sautés so nicely. I really like that feature. It's nice to be happy about a purchase. It was a big purchase. It also has an excellent warranty. It's absolutely gorgeous, the stainless steel, even the knobs are metal. I've got these great big gorgeous knobs that are metal that I can clean with soapy water.

As far as the team at the Viking dealership, I worked with a very nice salesperson who was very patient while I worked out my issues. It took me a long time, but I sifted through everything. I got the right product because I have no criticisms of it. The top surface cleans beautifully. The stainless steel cleans beautifully. On the top, I use that Cerama Bryte that they sent with it fairly frequently to protect it and make sure everything's absolutely clean before I cook again. I did call them and asked questions because I was a little concerned. It looks like it's bigger than other models. They told me it was standard. I had a kitchen designer that I could call who had worked with me previously, and she confirmed that, too.

But we're not sure yet, so we're gonna keep using it before we call someone.

The range has four legs that are adjustable as to the height to position it correctly above the counter depending upon your floor. That might be fine in a new house. But when you remodel and you rip out the travertine floor and replace it with plank flooring, the inconsistencies in the floor height coupled with the difference between an inch or more travertine, plus planks are very thin and that can result in an issue where the legs cannot be adjusted sufficiently to raise the range to the proper recommended installation height.

Viking doesn't have longer legs or extensions available. So I had to work with my cabinet company that was remodeling the kitchen to fabricate something out of wood. They told me that this comes up periodically over their many years of doing business. They have called Viking and they have customers that called Viking. The answer is always the same, which is, "That's all we got." So that was really disappointing considering how expensive the Viking Ranges are. Also, you gotta be careful not to let go of the oven door as you're getting close to it being in the closed position because it will just slam. Also, Viking doesn't do repairs. If I built a new house and I got to select the appliances, I would not buy Viking. It's not worth it.

Viking has a very robust, no-frills solution that doesn't have a whole lot of electronics in the range. The materials that they used are pretty robust. So far, things have held up pretty well. As far as the burners are concerned, it's easy to get a lower flame for simmer. The BTUs are high enough to sear a steak when needed. The oven bakes pretty consistently so far. I love the knobs and the way it can be cleaned. There's a slide-out tray, and everything opens up from the top. Cleaning the top burner area is pretty seamless, so I really like that. The external cleaning of it is really nice because there aren't a whole lot of knobs. My only worry over time would be how the printing of the knobs and the front section of the range hold up over time. We cook quite a bit and we love it. So far, it's met my expectations where a lot of ovens and appliances, especially Samsung, have not.

Viking's ranges are of very good quality. But right out of the box, we had some problems. It was sent to us with a big scratch on the front. It took a month to get the part and it was replaced last week. It was a supply chain issue. The repair place couldn't get the part, and then Viking got involved and helped facilitate them getting the part. So there was no issue with that. They stood behind the product and got it replaced. They got somebody out here to do the replacement. The quality control at the factory though is not good. It made me feel ridiculous to have to ask for a new part for a brand-new thing. When you've made a commitment to sort of buy a Cadillac and it comes with a giant scratch on it, that's unacceptable to start out with.

Also, it came with zero care instructions which is really frustrating. I've struggled with trying to go online to find some kind of instruction book but there isn't much. That's definitely a down. It would have been nice if it came with a link to something. I prefer not to have computerized stoves, and they've all gone to that. Now, you have to pay a lot more to get something more simple and reliable. My stove is basic which is what I wanted. I turn the knob, the gas comes on and I turn it some more then I get the temperature. There's no motherboard to burn up like my last stove.

I've had to call for service twice already on the Viking range. I called in the service on the knob and the techs came in and fixed it. It was a quick fix. The oven was turning off in the middle of us baking food. It was messing up the food and that was a headache. So, I had to put in a second call for the oven being shut off. The techs did an adjustment and hopefully, that works. If not, then they have to change the whole part. The guy said to bake a chicken and that it should work now. I told him that Thanksgiving is coming and hopefully, it doesn't give us problems on Thanksgiving.

The dishwasher wasn’t working as well and we had to call in service for that. Viking had to change the CPU. I haven't had a good experience with Viking yet. I just had the appliances installed around August so it's still only a short period. Hopefully, I would learn to love it once I get past these problems. I've had cheaper products that never gave me an issue like this before, which was why I was disappointed.

We have eight service cooktops and two of them are Viking griddle tops. That's a new fun feature for us. We bought them at Best Buy and the challenge for us was that they outsource their installation. There was a little bit of a lack of coordination on that but Best Buy had a strong relationship with their Viking rep. They were able to pull an order forward so we wouldn't have to wait months to get the propane. My town doesn't have natural gas and the assumption is that everybody buys natural gas. But my town only provides propane tanks.

We have an oven and a half, and I like the ability to do traditional baking on it. I also find the instruction manual super helpful on bake times. It's a convection space on the first and the third rack. It's pretty accurate on the bake times if you're trying to bake. Also, when I used Viking’s website, I did not find it super easy to navigate to find the information. I had to call a help desk to be able to navigate that aspect of it. Other than that, these ranges are expensive, but so far, my experience with them has been good.

I wanted to have something that looked different and wanted to experiment with the high-end range cooktop Viking Ranges offers. On the day it was delivered, it didn't work and I had to wait for some parts. And the initial installation didn't go smoothly through the vendor I bought it through. But after it was all put together, things seemed to work okay. I like the way the six burners are all integrated.

The sales guy was good. But the owner of the shop was rude. And the installation teams were confused. They came out multiple times. First time to assess the pre-build to make sure everything was fine for them to come to deliver. They said, "This looks great. That looks great. Looks like you're all set for next Tuesday installation. Thumbs up. Good to go." My builder was happy. He read all the instructions properly. And the guy came through, inspected the electrical. Everything looked great.

A week later, they came to install it and the team looked at it and said, "This is all wrong." So, they put the machine back on the truck and took it back to the shop and said that they needed to have things fixed before they could reschedule. It took five weeks to have it rescheduled to have it come out. And when it finally came out, it was broken. But when the installation team came out to install it, we fixed everything like the second team wanted to do it. And when they arrived, the third team looked at it and said, "This is all wrong." I was there this time as opposed to just recording it on my cameras and I said, "All right. Let's take it off the truck, let's measure it, and if there's a tolerance issue, I'm the owner, I can accept the variance."

We undid everything that the second crew told us to do, putting it back to the way it was when the first crew approved it, and the third crew put it in after we rebuilt it all, and everything fit perfectly. So, the interruption of the second crew was all wrong, causing us to jump through a bunch of hoops to try to fix it and it didn't work, then we didn't have to do all that. Because by the time we undid all that, when the third crew showed up, it was back to the way it was originally built to spec and it was fine. Everything fit perfectly.

The third crew would walk away again because it wasn't to spec and I forced them to just try to install it, and they did. They spent extra time rewiring the electrical, which was approved by the first guy. And for the pleasure, they tried to charge me $185 an hour for the rewiring of the work, which I had already paid an electrician to wire and I had approved. So, it was a mess. But I worked through it, and we have a perfectly functional appliance. The vendor's owner that we went through was not helpful during the process. But Viking gave me a different person to fix the range that was delivered wrong. So, Viking did a good job to make that happen.

Now the enamel is peeling somewhere and the residue is settling in layers at the bottom every time we cook in the oven. Worse yet, customer support is awful, as we have been repeatedly told that this is a cooking residue. Then they say warranty expired after two years. They have a serious manufacturing defect on hand and try to avoid responsibility. This is a high end product and it lasts only two years!!!! I would never ever ever buy any Viking product after this experience.

We were looking for something to replace a similar size range and wanted something that was sort of industrial. We had heard the cooking experience with Viking was excellent. It took a really long time to get the range, almost a year after we ordered it. And when the people came to install it, we didn't have the correct electrical hookup. There was a lot of back and forth between the vendor that we bought the range from and then having to get subcontractors in to get everything sort of up to snuff so that we could install it. The range had to go back to the warehouse for storage for another month or so while we were trying to work the electrical issue out.

It was a little frustrating because it would have been nice if someone had anticipated or had asked, “How is your other stove hooked up?” We could have had that in the year that we were waiting. It would have been nice to have that arranged so that it could have been installed seamlessly. It got moved around a lot. When the range finally got installed and we started using it, we had to have service on it. The front door was not sitting properly and it was making a really loud popping noise on the larger oven. The tech had to come out and take it apart and put it back together. That has been remedied.

Also, we had to have two of the igniters replaced because they would consistently click. We had to have one of the fittings replaced because we were getting gas and flames out from below where it was supposed to come out. We had someone who contracts with Viking come out and do the work and it's been covered under warranty. I've talked to Viking customer service about it. It's just a little bit frustrating that for a brand-new range that costs as much as a car, we've had to have three of the parts replaced and the door rebuilt.

I don't think we would buy another Viking based on that experience. It seems pretty well right now, although I'm starting to get some clicking in one of the eyes that I previously had not. I'm giving it some time. I asked Viking if they would extend our warranty, given the issues we had with this particular one. They told me, “No,” that this was within normal expectations. And because they had been able to fix everything that was not right, we wouldn't be able to get an extended warranty. That aside, the range is beautiful. But in retrospect, I could have bought something like a GE Monogram and had it in a week later and have had it for two years now.

I went on Viking's website and since they don't service their own products, I had to go through an approved third-party fixer. It costs $150 just for them to come check it out and that’s before any fixes. The guy came out and looked at it. He told me that it would cost $520 to fix it. There was something in there that died and it's not a major thing but it's the beginning of something major. He said he's gone through this with other clients who had this problem with this microwave. Then in a few months, what's gonna happen is it's gonna do the same thing again. And I would have to pay another $150 for them to come out to get it and then take it back to their wherever. They're gonna say I need to put a computer in there or change the computer system or the motherboard and it's gonna cost $1,200. I told him to forget about it. That is a lot. I don't think the quality is very good. I went and got an LG and I'll probably stay away from the Viking brand. But the range, hopefully, is gonna last. But it still wasn't working right and then it was another two-week process. It took time but the range is working fine now.

We got such a good deal on it and the quality for the price we paid for is fantastic. But I would have issues with the quality for what might have been brand new. I wouldn't have waited for them to fix it. I would have taken it back and asked for another one. Also, the feature that I wish it had is an oven light that is on when the oven's on and not be combined with the preheat light. Other than that, it's everything we want.

Then when the range was delivered, it's a dual fuel. The specs, according to my general contractor, were not clear or correct so they couldn't fully install the range because the gas pump was in the wrong location. So, they had to pull it out, move the gas line, and then put it back. It seems to be okay now. At that point, the rep showed me some other options and the Viking stove was one of the options. So, I was impressed with his ability to work with me to find what I needed. There are some things that I wanted in a stove that I didn't get in the Viking but overall, I like the way it looks and I like the way it performs. It doesn't have the thing at the very back that I had on my last stove, so it just goes straight up to the wall.

I had tried to follow up and see if there was a way I could get one of those to add on. The follow-on service wasn't as good as I would have liked. Also, most of the information that I got about the stove were from other places than their website. I looked at a lot of different review sites and feedback. So, I wasn't able to get much of it from the Viking site. The guys who put my range in were wonderful. It was really hard to get it leveled and in place. So I feel like if I have to move it for any reason to put something back there behind it, it's gonna be high maintenance. We do a lot of cooking and about 25 years ago, we bought our first Viking. We have a large family so we were looking for a large stove. We compared the various better brands and decided on Viking. It worked out great for us. Then, we moved out of our house last year and in building our new house, we decided to get another Viking. The purchase took a really long time. We ordered it in May of '22 and it finally came in either May or June of this year. That was not great that we had to wait so long. We had a good sales rep but he was not as available as we would have liked. We would have to leave messages for him and he would get back to us but it would take a couple of days. Then, when we got the range, it had a couple of problems with it, one that we're still waiting to get repaired. They're scheduled to come at the end of September to do a final repair.

Also, we wanted a certain type of hood and we had trouble getting clarification of what the hood was going to be. The rep was saying that the hood that we wanted was not available so we went ahead and we got the hood that he recommended. But we have a black range and the hood is like a dark gray. You don't really notice it unless you're looking at it. That was a notable oversight on the sales rep's part or on our part for just assuming that it was going to match perfectly. I went online to see if I could find the hood that we wanted and I did find it. We called him back and told him it was available. We ordered it and had to send the other one back but we had to pay a restocking fee to send that one back so that was disappointing.

Overall, it was good, but it was not without problems. I appreciated the fact that they reached out, though. When we were having trouble with the range and going through the hood, they were good about calling and saying, “Hey, is this fixed now? I've still got this on the books. It's not being fixed.” I was pleased that their rep called and checked.

My husband had something smoking last night and our smoke detectors went off for a moment. He turned that on at high speed and it drew everything out.

But there was an electrical problem. When I connected to the outlet the first time, there was a short circuit. So, it triggered the breaker. And when it warmed up, it triggered the breaker again. There was a serious problem. They said that I did not follow the instruction for wiring. There are some wiring work that needs to be done based on the type of outlet you have. I'm surprised I didn't follow the instruction correctly. I believe it was missing in the instructions. They didn't say anything. They just paid everything for that under warranty.

There was a second problem. One of the burners did not light up correctly. It was only three-quarters around. The technician changed the part. And it worked fine. I just looked at all the part. Nothing seemed wrong, but it was not working. I just deferred what happened with the range. Maybe I should have looked deeper. No features like a basic timer.

I'm not asking much because I understand it's even better if it's just some sort of basket timer to be used for cooking. So, we have to use something else for that. That was something that both my wife and I used a lot before. Now we have an alternative, but we would prefer to have something inside the range for that. Even in the temperature of the oven, you see a light. From the name of the light given in the instructions, you understand that the oven reaches the temperature when the light turns off. It doesn't say that in the instruction. At some point my wife still asked me, “When does it reach temperature?” I would say, “I don't know.” And she noticed this light had turned off at some point. So, she told me that.

We've had many Viking ranges and we're unhappy with this particular one. It looks almost as if the particular stove we got was a floor version because the stainless steel in the front is scratched. The oven didn't work, as if it had been disconnected for a floor model. So, someone didn't, inadvertently, put it on. We live in Florida and we had somebody in our area who can do Viking "repairs" come out and they were able to hook up the oven. He thought it may have been a floor model because they don't like to keep the ovens working in case somebody accidentally turns them on. And he said he had never seen that that particular line had been detached. The knob on the farthest right was not working properly and also had to be replaced. Those things were solved by having somebody come. But the scratching on the stainless steel is not solvable. I've got the best stainless-steel cleaners and nothing is working because it's clearly scratched.

With just boiling water on a burner, the glass plate became very colored, which I didn't particularly appreciate. The coloring seems to have gone away but under the glass, it looks a little bubbly. We called Viking and talked to them about it, and it didn't seem to do much good. The person we talked to didn't seem to be particularly interested in helping very much. We also called the supplier, Abt Electronics out of Chicago, were not able to help. They recommended we talk to Viking, which we did, and we sent the pictures but we’ve had no response. We live in Sanibel, Florida, which was hit by Hurricane Ian, so the whole downstairs in my house and all new appliances were put in, including a Sub-Zero and the Viking stove and the dishwashers. And they all look very nice and new, except for all the scratching on the Viking which is very visible because it's right on the top. We didn't have a very good experience with Viking.

Viking Ranges was made in America and it was the professional cook range. We like the way it looks. It lights up different colors. We also like that the grates are heavy. We will no longer use the self-cleaning feature. We had to get a new one because the self-cleaning feature most likely burned out the wire harness for the small oven. And they said, "Don't use the self-clean feature." Our neighbors have a Wolf and it seems to be better than that. It would be an equivalent of a Series 5. Ours is dependable and it's like having a professional oven in our kitchen.

We ended up getting the microwave, the dishwasher, the refrigerator, the range and the hood. I was very excited about it. But as soon as we got our range, the oven wasn't working. Viking had to send out technicians four different times to finally replace a cooling fan on the bottom of it. We got the range and it was about three months after that I could finally use my oven, and when they fixed the oven issue, now there's an issue with one of the burners. So, I had to call them back. Viking has called me and they've tried to reach out to this company who's been coming out to fix it. They haven't rescheduled yet so, we’ve still got an issue with the range.

It was not only our range though. Our refrigerator had a water leak in the filter part and the techs had to come out and replace it four different times. But it’s finally fixed. I’m still very open-minded about Viking. But my husband would never again purchase Viking. We spent almost $20,000 on everything and it’s just not worth the headache. And because there's not a Viking in the area, it takes so long for anybody to come out. Still, they are a very good, reliable company. They're good quality. I just haven't had the best experience.

The salesperson explained all the pros and cons of each range and the quality of the Viking range was good. It’s well-built and we like the ceramic top because it's easier to keep clean. You spray it down with cream and wipe it down with a micro pad or a scratch pad that Viking sends you, then you spray it down with another cleaner. It cleans up nicely and the range shines and it's beautiful. There are no tops to remove.

We're satisfied with the Viking range. It's something that we've come to look forward to. The only difference with a ceramic top is that you can't use a cast iron skillet on the surface because it will scratch it and it may crack it, but you can use the Le Creuset porcelain-covered cast iron, which is just as good. You need to change some of your cooking pots and pans but you're changing them for the better. You may put out an initial expense but the better quality pans make a better quality cooking. And they have a very flat bottom. Viking ranges are worth the money. You pay a lot for them but this equipment is not gonna go away.

Convection oven setting no longer works. The self-clean not working as it locks on its own and needed service to unlock (over $300cdn). Estimate over $2,000 CDN for replacement of bake igniter control board, relay door lock assembly and light indicator (NOT DOING). The interior glass on door cracked numerous places. Basically we are done with Viking and investing more money with servicing this product. It's supposed to last over 20 years! Had it for 5 or 6 when problems started. Anyone want to buy it for parts? WARNING… Do not trust Viking parts used in their appliances. The parts are cheaply made, not built to last, and when they do break Viking will not stand behind their products. I had a recent experience where I hired an authorized Viking repair facility to replace 2 spark modules on my Viking stove. They used Viking parts and cost came to over $800. A year-and-a-half later, in June 2023, the same to 2 spark modules had to be replaced, this time for more money because price of Viking parts had gone up. Repairman said they should’ve lasted at least 6 years.

When I complained to Viking corporate offices, including the president, they refused to reimburse me for total cost of second repairs, offering me instead only 20%. It’s outrageous that they don’t stand behind their parts. Clearly they’re manufacturing defective parts. Viking website likes to boast that they do “Testing beyond Residential to Commercial Industry Standards.” That’s a joke. Viking parts, customer service, and management are all ineffective.

Viking is a desirable brand for an oven. We've been very happy with our new range. We have a strong preference for gas stoves versus electric. The adjustable shelves are good. There's plenty of room to bake. We like having that center rest that's a little wider. There are four burners on top. There's a center rest area which is useful to have when cooking. There are more levels of adjustability inside the stove than a standard stove. The light works. It starts well. It occasionally makes a re-lighting noise like a click when it first starts. It also occasionally makes the noise again later, which has been really helpful because, if we forget to turn it off, it makes a re-lighting noise, which is sufficient to remind us to turn it off. I don't think they did that on purpose, but it's like a side effect that's useful for us.

We had an existing Viking range in our home. It wasn't functioning right. The door wasn't closing properly. It takes considerable time to preheat. And it had to do with the door being jarred. We had a repairman come in and try to remedy it. He said he couldn't do it. Many years passed we needed to get a new refrigerator. It was a GE and it wasn't properly functioning. We looked at many appliances, chose Viking because it was a good product. It was well-made. The ranges that were there were also on sale. We had a six-burner range. The oven door wasn't operating to our expectations. So, we had to get the range in addition to that.

The gifts and cash rebates that Viking was offered incentivized our purchase. The salesperson was very convincing. We got two free gifts out of the two purchases. We got the overhead microwave hood and a set of Viking cookware. Also, we applied for the rebates and they accepted, based on our proof of purchase and registration of the appliances.

The installation and delivery went smoothly. The burners are great. The oven preheats quickly. We like that the racks within the range itself are on those rollers and they pull out easily. The older range did not have that feature. That simple thing like rollers made a difference. If my wife was to bake or cook alone, she wouldn't need any assistance.

He did an adjustment but it didn't last. That adjustment was just done until he could order the part. The part came in and he installed it. However, my dad bumped into the stove and the knob got turned and turned on to the clean option and then the stove locked. We ended up having to shut our breaker off to get it to unlock.

I had to do a service request. They serviced it and it works fine now. However, it is noisy. It takes a long time to cool down. It runs the fan even when you're done for quite some time.

But when I recently purchased a second one, I've already had to call repairs on it and they have to replace two circuit boards, which are not coming in. So, I'm not too happy with it. To get it serviced, I talked to our local appliance store and they passed on the information to Viking, then Viking sent an email for this present repair about contacting the repair place that was contracted to do the warranty work. I'm disappointed because I bought the Viking and paid a lot more money for it than some of their comparable competitors. I would tell my friends to be careful in buying a Viking range.

I like the grid in the oven, that I could get it in colors, and that it was based on an industrial model. I'm happy with it. It does what I want it to do. It was when I had trouble that it got icky. It took a long time to get the stove. I understood it was a special order. But when I got the first one, they had not secured it properly, so it was not able to be used. It had to be sent back. They wanted me to get back in line for another one, but I refused.

I said, "No. I've already paid for the stove." They wanted me to re-sign everything because it was a custom color. I said, "No, I've already done that. I had paid for the stove. You broke my stove, so you need to replace it." I got it and it was fine. The reason we paid for the installation was because it was supposed to be a Viking-trained person. And they didn't adjust the door properly. So, the door wasn't opening and closing properly. It was scraping.

We had somebody come out from another company who was a Viking dealer. The tech said they didn't adjust the door properly. So, he adjusted the door and it works beautifully now. But they had to reorder me another door because of all the rubbing. It chipped and wore away the paint. Stuff are on back order, but Viking is trying to make it right.

It was a nightmare how to clean it with a magic eraser. But they said, "We'll just send out someone to switch out the ports. We gotta order the ports." I told them, "You guys should just send out a new one and just replace it. Just because they got ran that way and who knows the damage." It would mess with the life of the stove. But they just sent out someone to put the new ports in. I had to hire a cleaning company to come out and get the soot out of the inside. It works fine now. Also, Viking should try to make the stove a bit lighter. That thing is heavy.

I purchased my Viking range in 2018 and it worked wonderfully. When the smaller oven stopped heating up, they said it was a heating coil. So, they got a new heating coil under warranty. Then they discovered that once the heating coil came in, the wiring harness needed to be replaced. I told the tech that came out, “Well, you gotta take this whole thing apart on my kitchen floor.” The tech said, “Some of these parts are sealed. I can't even get into them. Send me instructions on how to do it.” But Viking couldn't do it.

I was two months prior to the expiration of my warranty and to some extent, you could even argue that that part of the warranty had already expired. There was just an extended five-year on oven parts. It took about three phone calls and Viking came back and said, “We're just gonna replace it.” They ordered the replacement and then they came out and installed it. So far, so good. You can't help that sometimes things don't work out quite right. But the level at which they took care of it, I was really appreciative of. We have the 48-inch with eight burners. We got plenty of burners and oven space. So it worked out very well. It's a dual fuel. It's a gas range top, and then electric ovens. It has a self-clean option. We have used it and it does fine. The range is very expensive but it is an investment.

    Reviewed May 10, 2023

The quality of my Viking range awesome and I like how sturdy it is. There are many options on the range and I like all the things that it can do. I love the grill/griddle thing, too. So far, this is first my gas range and convection oven, so that's a learning curve for me. I ordered the range in December 2021 and it was supposed to be delivered on July of 2022 but I didn't get it. Then they said it would come in August and it went on and on. I had to wait a year and a half to get it. Then, when they installed it, they were in a hurry and didn't make the legs level, so everything slides towards the front.

Aside from that, sometimes the big oven is not deciding that it wants to be use the convection or bake and I don't know what it's doing. I don't want to judge though because the problem might be the person that's running the machine. Also, both the ovens are too hot. If I got them on 350, they would registering 400. So things are not baking even like they did before in my old oven. So, I finally called into Viking and got a tech on the phone. The guy told me to just get a thermostat then put it in there and get my average temperature. So I got two because of that and we want to make sure that if somebody asked me, that the issue was not the thermostat. The low oven was less extreme as the big oven and there was not quite as big of a difference, but it was up to 50 degrees on that big oven. When I called the people that I got it from, they said maybe I could just learn to bake with that. But I said no since I spent $28,000 on my Viking range.

Even when I open the door, if I get it up to temperature, it'll drop 30 degrees. They also said there’s a quick preheat but there's no quickness about it. I also called them about the little left door that is not even. I noticed as well that the easy close thing on the little oven, even though it's not straight, after it gets close to the closing, it does a soft close. But you can hear a really nice solid sound confirming that it is sealed. But my other door didn't and it even if I just touch it, it would move. So I've opened the door and my seals are not right.

Yesterday, when I was doing some baking in the little oven, I had a little cake in and it was maintaining a pretty decent temperature, within about 10 degrees, even though it was hot. So I had to bake with my thermostat. In my right oven, the big one, I had some potatoes in and I was trying to use the convection. So then, I pushed on the door as I was standing there and I was putting pressure on it. And all of a sudden, the temperature started raising and it wasn't sealing. When I would open and shut it, it would shut softly. But it wasn't that nice and there wasn't a solidness to it. I was also having trouble as I couldn't get the temperature to rise. But I didn’t put it up to 450. I only wanted it at 400. I was going over and beyond, and I couldn't get it to kick the preheat back on again or try to move the temperature up. But when I held it shut, it did.

Now, the door appears to be square, not crooked, while the other one seems to be crooked. So I called the dealer today and I told them that we need to get the doors right before we start messing with the temperature. I talked to the guy that took my order back in December of ‘21 and his name was Scott. He's nice but I feel like he just wants to get away. So I'm just waiting patiently in the background, figuring out how to use the range and trying to do my little figuring out. I've got a paper where I write down the temperatures and I've got a notebook where I'm keeping track of things. So that when they do come, I can show that to them.

All in all, I would recommend Viking to a friend because I believe that it's going to be an awesome piece of equipment. I just think we've got to get there yet and I don't know what it's going to take. So I'm not going to bitch and moan about it at all. I just want somebody to work with me and I'm even willing to do some things myself. I’m expecting to be pleased with it. I love how it looks when it came in. The grates things, the handles, the knobs, and everything is just so solid.

I love my Viking. This is my second Viking Range. My first one lasted 21 years. She was old and tired. This one has more features. It has a self-cleaning oven and the fifth burner. This one had the griddle in the middle and a self-cleaning range. My other one didn't have that. So, I went ahead and got this. Plus, each burner has a different BTUs. With my other one, there's no way that the crumbs could get down past the burner. It had a drawer underneath it, I pulled out and I caught the crumbs under that. Now, they’re self-sealed. I love all the features of this new one. Nobody makes cookies in there better than I do. I use it from a slow simmer to a hard boil, and the different size burners, if used correctly, will do the job perfectly. When I turn the low one on low, I can put a piece of paper on top of it and it won't burn. And the high BTU heats right up. It's gas, so I got instant response to whatever I want.

The quality of our Viking range is pretty great. Unfortunately, we had to have service techs come to our house twice in the past year. Other than that, it was very easy to contact them about the issues we had. I contacted the reseller, then they told me to contact Viking customer support directly. So, they gave me the phone number and I had to call them twice in the past six months. The first time, it was a false alarm and the tech came out a couple of weeks after I called them.

The second time was for the motherboard which they had to replace and the tech came out within the same week that I called. And when he came in, he knew it was the motherboard and it took another two weeks to get the material. At this point, we've only had the oven for a year but there was an issue with the motherboard. That didn't cost us anything though because of the warranty, so that was fine. I just hope that we don't have to do that every year. Also, even though it took time, everything was very proactively communicated back to us and it was done very quickly as well. So, I was satisfied.

The range cooks well and we use it almost every day for everything. Compared to the oven we had before, this one is more efficient and it cooks faster. The end results are also better. I was also making cookies in the previous oven and in this oven, the bake is a little crispier. I wouldn't go back to the previous one and we’re going to keep with the upgrade.

But I'm not a huge fan the timer associated with it. There are no dashboards or display, so it's very mechanical and less digital. And so, knowing when the oven is preheated, you need to know that the signal light turns off. The previous oven had a beeping sound when the oven would preheat, whereas here, you have to look at it and be next to it to know that. It's not the end of the world but it is one thing that we have to get used to and it takes a little bit more time to get used to. Aside from that, even though you turn the oven off, the fan will still be on for a minute or two before it turns off. But in the previous oven, it would turn off immediately. But that's not a deal-breaker for us.

I love the function of things on the Viking range but the wife loves the aesthetics. When it hits 10, it cooks very evenly, unlike many other things, and there's not one side burned. The guy who came out to our home said that once you hit temp and it beeps, you need to wait five to seven minutes before you put something inside the oven. And if I wait five to seven minutes, and I put something in the oven, that pizza comes out flawless. But if I put it in as soon as it hits temp at 425, guaranteed, the top burns and the bottom’s raw. I was pretty impressed with the output of it. But If I didn't have the time and I wasn't very patient, I would be extremely frustrated with the machine. They should put that in the user guide as it would avoid so many complaints and call. Also, if I knew that upfront, it would have at least had me look at someone else

But other than that, it's great and really high end. It's very sturdy and structurally sound. When we bought it, our sales rep was very knowledgeable. He highlighted perks and sent out brochures. We also dealt with Viking support directly to address what we perceived to be an issue, which we have now overcome. You could tell they wanted to defend their product and they were all about customer service. We got our first Viking stove 30 years ago and we loved it. It was a really good stove. But when we bought our replacement Viking, the experience was not as good. We ordered the stove 19 months ago and it finally got delivered without anybody giving us any updates. No matter how much we called, no one would give us an update. Not all the perks were received for the stove. We're still waiting and that was six weeks ago. We were told by the retailer who sold it to us here that somebody from Viking would be calling us and giving us an update as to when we could expect it.

We got the very top-end stove. It's the Viking with the silver-coated griddle. The griddle and the kickplate have not arrived, and no one's given us an update. There's lots of finger-pointing, "Somebody else should call you. Viking is supposed to call you," etcetera. Also, one of the panels that's on the side of the stove shakes like crazy as if it's missing a bolt when you touch it. It sounds so cheap and tinny. So we're really disappointed in this version of the Viking stove.

When the stove was delivered, we asked the retailer, "Okay. Well, what about the griddle that we paid for? What about the kickplate? It's missing the kickplate?" They said, "Oh, you're right." I told them, "And it sounds really tinny on the side." They said, "Yeah, you're right. We'll let somebody know." Then we called the retailer back and they said, "No, you have to call Viking." I asked them if they have the number for Viking and they said, "No, we don't." For a stove that we paid $22,000 for, I shouldn't have to do that kind of a runaround.

Viking should have a customer number that you can call direct for them to help answer. So, to me, the ball was getting dropped there. At the retailer's end, they keep telling you that they're calling and getting nowhere, but I have no way of knowing that. So, I really have to point to Viking that they need to talk to their distributors.

Viking’s appliances are not the easiest to work with. The refrigerator door made this weird popping noise, which is one of the things that got fixed, and it was bizarre that something that cost as much as it does would have such problems so quickly. And the stove was having issues as well. I've been meaning to test it again. The clicking noise continues on one of the range controls. I searched on the computer a lot and could not find the information that I was looking for. I found the manuals for our particular items, like the stuff with the pilot light for the oven not working and all the references that I found showed how to get to it but when the repair person came out, he said it was a different type of ignition system. Viking is not the type of brand that a lot of people fix on their own. It was hard to figure that out so, it was a little bit frustrating for the DIY kind of person.

My wife called Viking and we got scheduled, and she randomly got a call from a person much sooner. The tech was in the neighborhood and he said he would be right here. He was trying to help us out by seeing us sooner and probably knock down his work list but it caught us off guard a little bit in terms of when he came. We were happy in the long run because it got fixed sooner, but it was very last second. Overall, the range is nice. But there’s a slight bend on the oven rack portions. When you put them in where they're supposed to be, all four corners that were supposed to touch weren't touching. When you pay as much as you pay for them, you'd expect these things to fit and work correctly. I shouldn't have to deal with any issues. You're cooking something, then all the oil shifts to one side. One side gets oily and one side doesn't have any oil.

I told my wife that I would not buy the Viking range again if I had my choice. We already have them now so, we have what we have. We can buy multiple sets of other appliances in the future and they may have issues, but we can more easily fix it. If it's not fixable for whatever reason, we can replace it and not have to worry about these things as much. For the cost, I expect it to be good, long-lasting, durable, no issues and no worries but Viking has not met that for us. They look great and nice. But I'm very quick when people point out that we got Viking, and I tell them to keep looking at other things too if they’re in the market. Don't just walk in on the brand. You don't automatically get a lot of quality just because you paid a lot for it.

Viking looked like it was good quality. But it's the worst range I ever owned. The door fell off within two weeks of use. We called repair people. They came out and said that we had to contact Viking because it was under warranty. So, we called Viking. The lady was rude to the repair people and said they weren't authorized to repair it. So, we had to pay them.

The door was too heavy for the hinges so they were bent. Viking sent new hinges. They contacted with a repair place in Jonesboro where I live and sent the new hinges to them. They put the new hinges on, said that they weren't impressed with the Viking. They said it didn't look like it was a good product. Two weeks later, the door fell off again. The oven couldn't be used because the door wouldn't close properly.

We called Viking again. The repairman said the hinges are bent again, and the frame doesn't look good. The repairman wanted to put in a new door. So, he spoke with Viking. And they said, "No.” They would just send hinges and some kind of frame for it. The repairman came out again, and he put in the new frame and hinges. While he was here, we tested to make sure it worked, and one of the nuts snapped off.

Since several weeks, the door has been holding up. However, Viking sent the wrong knob replacement. So, the repair company called and scheduled. But when the repairman looked, he said, “This is not the right part.” So, Viking sent the wrong part. We're still waiting for them to send the correct part. And I have no idea what temperature I'm using because I still have the knob. But I have to turn the oven on and hope I hit the right temperature, and it sits on the counter top until we're done, and hopefully I can turn it off. We paid $6,000 for this appliance. But it's like we got it free in a junkyard.

My experience with them hasn't been very good. I was really excited about getting the stove. But it took forever. I thought it was gonna be a couple of months, but it turned into a lot of months. Plus, we couldn't get any information on how far out before they could make delivery. When the stove came, it came damaged. It looked like a stove that had been sent back. There's a griddle on top that's all scratched. The whole finish was taken up. Also, there's a seat we're missing underneath that griddle to secure it where it would sit on top of the stove. There were dents in and out through the back too. The stove works but we were very disappointed. We contacted Viking and got one email. We never heard anything from them after that. I had other people who were following up.

Also, the fellow who installed the stove never gave me an invoice. He just told me how much the shipping was. I wanted to see invoices from him but he couldn't supply them. I went around pricing different stoves from Best Buy and a couple of other places. I came up with about $18,000. That's a good amount of money to pay for a stove. What we have is a beautiful stove and we're really thrilled with it. But it's not fixed. I was dumbfounded reaching out to Viking and not getting any help at all.

We’ve had the Viking range for half a year and it’s working well. My wife loves it. It’s a good one. It’s just that the original gas connection was on the other side from the previous range and didn't fit the curves on the Viking range. It wasn’t taken care of because it was not part of what the reps came in for. And having it moved was more expensive than we thought so we didn't do it. There’s a little opening at the back of the range and the gas connection did fit and still worked but if we were to change it, that would be better.

The installation was great and surprisingly quick. It was within two weeks. I like the evenness of the cooking in the oven, which was one of the challenges we had with our previous oven. One challenge I have with Viking is the fan mechanism in the back. If you're using the stovetop and the fan, it’s blowing right in your eyes, which is not great. So, we put the island trim on it and that's very low level and points straight up, which you wouldn't normally do against the wall. When it's a wall mount, most people probably don't want that island trim. It blows not only across your eyes but also across the burners so, it moves the flame on it. But everything else about the range is fantastic. We love the look and the quality of the survey responses that they had online. So, everything is great.

They were located out of state, and we did it all online and through phone calls. It was when Covid was bad and everything slowed down. But everything turned out well. When the range was installed, it went smoothly. The knobs, the grates and the stove feel solid and beautiful to look at. The burners come on nice. Everything’s heavy-duty. I got these pans from France so I had a nice pan on the stove that I wanted for years, and everything cooked well. It was a very pleasant experience. I just love it. The Viking range is very costly but if you can swing it, that's the way to go. The quality is there so it is worth it.

They were very knowledgeable and helpful with the whole purchase. I was initially gonna do only a 30-inch stove. But I decided to go with the 36. Overall, good with the purchasing experience.

I'm really happy with the Viking Range. They cook fantastically. It looks beautiful in my kitchen. I’m overall satisfied with the product. I like that I could tell when the oven shuts down by the little blue light that shuts off as it’s staying at that steady temperature and then it turns back on. It has a beautiful flame where it cooks everything evenly. I love the design with the legs so that it's not all the way flush to the ground. That's also a nice feature. However, when I turn the oven on, as it's warming up, you hear a pop. I don't know if it's gonna stop because it still does it.

We ordered the range two years ago and got it during Thanksgiving of 2021. There were scratches and we waited for the guys to come to fix it. And they said there was a problem with my fan. We noticed it was very loud but we thought that was normal and they said it wasn’t. So, they helped us to get a new Viking range because of the fan. It took close to a year to get it and from there, there were other problems with it. The door and the top were not parallel on the second range they gave us and you can see the gap. So, Viking gave us another range. One of the burners on the third range wouldn't turn on properly. You have to wait. You hear it, "Tick, tick, tick,” and then, the fire would turn off. One time I recorded. It took 12 seconds for the ticking to turn on the gas for the gas to ignite. And that was the last straw for my husband. He said that he didn't want a fourth one.

When the technician came in, he couldn't replicate the problem. He opened the top up and he noticed it seems like someone modified the unit inside before. It looked like it was a refurbished. Then he thought that he fixed it but right after he left, it happened again. So, my husband said that under no circumstance that we're gonna use that burner. We can use the other three but not that one.

One of the times, I tried to tell the person that we bought the range from that even though the guy that he sent said that he fixed it, I wanna show him how bad it is. And when he saw that it took 12 seconds for it to ignite, he said if I wanted my money back, they would give my money back. I would definitely go back there to buy more appliances. We love Viking but three is too much. And from a practicality, it's very expensive, because you have to get those people to come in, take it out, and get a new one. I hope that Viking fix whatever that's going on, because it's a good brand. It's just a shame that they don't put the quality check in there, because it's a deal breaker. It's not a cheap product. People who have older Vikings would love to have it again. But if Viking doesn't fix this problem, people will never go back to them.

I wanted the durability of a Viking range. There are two sections. If I make a big Thanksgiving dinner, I can have turkey on one side and you could put something on top. On the other side, there are three sliding things and you could bake pies and bread and do a bean casserole. So I only have to do one sitting of putting stuff in the oven. My meal is cooked when the guests arrived and if I wanna leave it there to just warm up, I could do it also. So, it's convenient.

The new range that I got rolls out. It's a benefit for seniors or anybody who wants a good quality stove. After you cook every day, you may wanna wipe down the top portion of the range. And when you wanna clean the grids in the oven, you slide them out and you could take them outside and spray your oven cleaner on it. They work well. Everybody that comes to the house and looks at my Viking range says I definitely did it. And I say that I have one of these in Chicago. I tried a Fivestar and it just did not rate the way I wanted it. It didn't do what I needed it to do. So I'm very happy with my Viking range. It's an outstanding product and I would recommend it to anybody.

Purchasing with Viking was totally fine but the issue was delivery time. We purchased about a year ago and we got it within nine months of purchasing the range. Between the time we purchased it to now, the hood got outdated and it made repairing an issue with it a little difficult. We requested a new rack, which I'm still waiting on receiving, because one of the gliding racks was offset. But otherwise, the range is doing fine. I wanted a larger oven and the smaller side oven, and I got what I wanted. The convection is nice and the added lights are fun. And it's going well. There was the option to buy a little bit of a back splash because the previous oven we had, which was over 20 years old, had one, and we were able to match up the wall with it.

I appreciated someone at Viking was constantly following up. The motherboard for the light fixture in the hood was a little busted and then, we had the oven situation. There were just little things, nothing that prevented me from actually using the range. Someone from Viking was on top of it and asking if the service providers were doing what they need to do. And even though the providers weren't always as responsive or fast, it was nice to know I wasn't getting forgotten either. The appliances are great and we're happy with it. If I were to have one wish on it, it would be to have one burner that was smaller. A brighter light in the oven as well because even though I turn the light on, I can't see in the range that well.

They looked at it and found that there were some micro holes in the burner in the oven that had not been completely drilled out so the gas was not moving through the burner. They ordered a new burner, and it's perfect. We also had a little problem with the refrigerator freezer. There was a rubber gasket on the freezer drawer that looked like it was damaged in transit so it didn't create a seal. We went through the same process and it was replaced. We're very satisfied.

The quality of the range is good though I expected slightly more out of the burners. The flame on it doesn't seem as big but I don't have any problems cooking or doing anything with it. I'm happy with the oven but the simmer features are hard to adjust and a little bit counterintuitive. So with the burner, it goes from high to low. So you would think that if you wanted to put something on simmer, you would go past low. I have a Thermador in a different house and that's how you do it there. But with the Viking, you have to go all the way back to high, and then past it to get into the simmer feature. I find that a bit disappointing, especially for a stove that's priced that high. Other than that, everything else is good.

A Viking range is a fairly notable piece of kitchen appliance. I saw it at Best Buy and I asked a couple of questions about it. They answered my questions. It was on a really good sale so I went ahead with it. The range had to be installed and that process went fine. This is my first six-burner stove and I enjoy being able to cook multiple things at the same time. I also like that the oven heats up fairly quickly. One thing I don't like is that when I preheat the oven, it doesn't make a noise to let me know it’s ready.

That aside, the range is a good piece of equipment. It heats quickly on top of the stove and in the oven portion. Also, I didn't find it more cumbersome to clean than any other stove I’ve had. No stove is fun to clean. There are more burners and there are more crevices to get into. When I do a full deep clean, it usually comes out very easily and I haven't had any issues getting it to go back in too.

Then they just came yesterday because I can't broil. But getting the service tech has been very easy. I call and they apologize. They come and they fix.

    Thanks for your vote!
