The cooking is very even with the Viking range and the convection fan is still working. So, everything seems to be working well. It preheats fast and then seems to maintain its heat.

The quality of the Viking range was what we expected and the racks are easy to clean. We also bought a dishwasher, a refrigerator and a microwave, and we had nothing but trouble with the refrigerator and the dishwasher. The stove was fine though we had trouble with the grates on the stove. They rusted underneath.

We moved into a new home that was fully outfitted with Viking appliances. I've always thought of Viking as top of the line, amazing. It looks pretty, but our dishwasher, our fridge, every appliance I can name has issues. So, I'm not happy with it. I've had them come twice to repair things, and both times, they're back to being the same. My fridge has no drawers for vegetables because they keep coming off the track. So, I just took them out. So, I have a $10,000 refrigerator with no drawers.

That is my frustration now. They're very hard to get ahold of. I have the warranty, I filled out all the paperwork online. The ones we have are the top-of-the-line Viking. My stove and fridge are both $8,000 to $10,000 apiece. My dishwasher is nice. The only thing that works is the range, and the microwave is good. Other than that, nothing else is good. Do your research and go with another one of their competitors.

The installation of the range was done by my plumber and it seemed like they had no problem doing it. So, in general, it was a great experience prior to actual usage. Everything was straightforward. But I've had a lot of issues with my Viking fridge that I purchased and the range. I hear this big pop when the range would get to a certain temperature and when I turn it back below the temperature, it would make that pop again. It was like a piece that was loose. So, I called the warranty provider. They showed up and did some work to fix it and everything works. But I still hear a little bit of noise. The guy said that’s how it is. It's like this one plate in the bottom of it inside the oven should be attached differently and the guy said that he has seen this a couple of times. They did some patchwork. So, I'm still not thrilled by it but it's not as egregious as it was the last time.

The other thing that I'm not thrilled about with the Viking range is there's a little ledge where the stovetop is and it's stainless steel but it's already scratched, and we've only had it for five months. So, that was a bit frustrating as well. Some of the parts for the fridge that needed to get replaced took a while to come in. But that's just the nature of the world we live in right now. So, in general, everything was just okay.

It took months for the range to get delivered. I was called by the people that I purchased it from to see if I still wanted it. Then, when it came, it proved to be another challenge. I was told that there's a tendency for the front panel to heat up. A neighbor has a Viking and that doesn't happen to his so after a few service calls, I just left it at that and nobody was open to exchanging it. I'm getting used to it but I'm not really pleased. It's been a little touch-and-go with the range and more so with the service provider. There've been a lot of hiccups along the way.

We chose Viking appliances because I felt like they were sturdily built, they're gonna last forever, and I like the look of them. The range we got showed up damaged so we had to schedule a repair right out of the gate. We also had a recall for some gas tubing. They shipped us the parts and we called when the parts came in. Then, they sent somebody out to do that. That was good. The range has been in and out there a couple of times but overall, we're happy with its performance. We also had an issue with the first dishwasher we got from Viking and they had to completely swap that unit out. And the refrigerator took almost 10 months to get, so that was difficult.

I like the way the oven racks glide out and the way the top of the range is all cast irons. Also, the knobs are really like beefy, they're really high quality. It does take a little bit of care because I gotta take those heavy grates off to clean underneath them but I knew that going in and it's really not a big deal. And because I went with such a higher quality stove and range from what I had before, the cooking experience has been different for me and it's been a learning curve.

We're very happy with the Viking range. The only issue that I have, which I think is a major issue and would have swayed my purchase to another brand, is that I purchased the hood and the hood came with no mounting hardware. I ended up having to pay somebody to do a makeshift structural mounting piece put on my ceiling. That was kind of crappy that I wasn't able to mount the hood that I purchased. But other than that, everything has been really good. I can tell the stove is almost commercial grade. That's one of my favorite features of the product line.

The first Viking range that I received was not working properly. The drip tray was broken. There were two of the stove parts that weren't lighting up. I was very disappointed with just buying something that cost so much money, and then not having it working properly. It was from the start and then, we had to wait a few months to get another range. Then, when they delivered it, the same thing. I had a problem with the pilot for the oven wasn't working. It worked the first day when they delivered it. But the second time I went to turn on the oven, that wasn't working at all. I had to get service back again and that, obviously, takes a long time. I'm completely regretting buying any kind of Viking product at this point.

Overall, it's a good stove. The only issue I don't like about it is the cleaning on the top. It's so hard to clean not only the grates but the black enamel. If you don't clean it right away, it's very difficult to clean after the fact. That, I wasn't expecting. With the other stoves, you wiped it down and you were done.

My wife is a pretty prolific cooker and she wanted a range that had the old-style open burners. She wanted all the burners to be the same and to have a full range of heat or no heat and that she would control all of that herself. She's quite pleased with the way the Viking range performs and the fact that these burners are very flexible that she can use them as she chooses instead of being pre-determined for a particular use.

The quality has been excellent, although we did have to have a service call because my wife noticed that the thermometer indication was very different from what the oven was set at. The qualified Viking servicer closest to us took the call and came out after we had contacted the service department through the Viking 800 number. The tech knew exactly what to do and the problem was just a little bit of calibration. He made a few adjustments to the oven and he also coached my wife about how it takes a little longer to heat up and to do the pre-heating. After that, we've had no problems at all.

We loved our old Viking 6-burner stove and cook often, but the stove was becoming worn out. Instead of buying a new range and stove, we decided to repair our Viking by replacing a number of parts to the cost of almost $2000. Among the parts we bought, we purchased new 6 new stove-top grates. When we received the grates there was some bubbling on the surface enamel which we assumed was a minor defect. But now, less than 2 years later, the enamel coating has burned off in sections and we have horrible-looking rust spots on the grates. When I called Viking direct, they said I waited too long and that they would not replace the grates, but would sell me new ones for another $750. What a poor response to a loyal Viking user.

When we first got the stove, the oven never cooked right. Whatever I would put in the oven, I never knew how it was gonna turn out and I had to constantly watch it. I had to stay around the house and watch to see if it was cooking. If you try a new recipe, it's like, “What temperature should I use?” I put up with it for years. Finally, the enamel inside started to wear off. I had to get in touch with Viking because I was really annoyed with it. I had these issues after all that money I spent on the unit. The quality was terrible.

A guy came out and goes, “I'm gonna have to change. I'm gonna have to up it.” He would find that the temperature was always off. And then the warranty ran up so it got too expensive. It was a long process but they finally agreed to replace it. I was happy to get it replaced. But I had to spend close to $2,000 to get it replaced and have the new one put in and I'm not happy with that. I'm not going to get Viking again. The stove that we have now is working and it's cooking like a regular oven.

I built a new house a decade ago with several Viking appliances. Despite the fact that one of my wall ovens was only used once or twice a year for family gatherings, both the wall oven and my 6-burner induction cooktop stopped working within the last 2 months. The appliance repair company recommended by Viking came to the house. He got Viking on the call. I could hear that the Viking service advisor was less than polite. Moreover, the cost to purchase 2 replacement control parts is $4,600 US plus shipping, customs and taxes, let alone labour costs to install. In the end I can buy replacement appliances (other good quality brands) at far less than the cost to buy the replacement parts.

When the door wasn't closing on the refrigerator, a tech came out and it went really well. The only thing I may have a gripe about is that the microwave is only 900-Watts. I have a series 7 and that's what I like about it because it’s the best one on the market, by far. There’s only one other unit that has a 23,000 BTU burner, and I have two of them on this particular stove. I like that feature. The quality is great. It's a six-burner without the grill in the middle, and the back right ones sparked. It couldn’t work at first, but now, it works fine. I've had clients that we could be doing a whole new kitchen and they still want to keep their 40-inch Viking stuff ‘cause they don't want to change it out. That says a lot to me. The only one thing I have a big gripe on is every single knob plate, the chrome part is twisted. It’s not right on.

Viking's got a good quality product. I wanted something culinary and dependable that was why I chose Viking. But everything was on backorder due to covid so it took me a while to find the one I wanted. I found a supplier that could get it to me but the delivery sucked. Two guys showed up to deliver my 800-pound range. They were supposed to do the install for me too. I paid for that. But they just dropped the appliance and ran. I had to do the install myself. I definitely would not recommend AJ Madison to anybody.

I wanted a simple stainless steel and I like the design of the Viking range. I like how it works too. It’s easy to clean other than the griddle which is a pain to clean. I use the stove and range and oven a lot, pretty much every night. It does a really good job. I cook all of our food on it and I absolutely love it. The slider oven racks, there's one that doesn't slide. They could eliminate that and just put a slider in its place. I don’t see the purpose of that one that doesn't slide. It's kind of annoying.

My wife and I had purchased through the friends and family program, and we had excellent customer service through the whole purchasing process. We spoke with a few different people off the bat and talked with one person who helped us decide which devices we were getting. Once we were decided on that, she passed our information along to Arie who helped us priced everything out. Arie couldn’t help us so she passed us along to somebody else. Everything was good. There were always updates. We had the white glove shipping, and that was good too. Everyone brought things in and took all the cardboard out. We’re happy.

Everything we have in the house is Viking and we love them. The refrigerator keeps berries longer based on our old refrigerator. For the range, we got the 48-inch with the griddle and love the griddle portion of it. We use the smaller oven a lot more than we do the larger oven. We’re still getting used to the actual stovetop of the range because we feel it burns a lot hotter than what we had previously. The ovens cook a little bit hotter as well and seemed to hold temperature better. We enjoy it.

The oven is also loud. It’s much louder than any other gas range we've ever owned. There was also a tremendous delay in receiving the product. Everything is stellar with the Viking Range. There is however one thing that's different. I like to simmer stuff. I cook spaghetti sauce, 20 quarts at a time and it's got to sit on that stove for four to six hours. It's got to be low and slow and I have a hard time. When I put the burners, even with the simmer thing, that’s no better than low. It's the same as low. The real problem is the gas is coming out so slow that it pops a little bit. Occasionally, I lose the flame so it has to reignite. But that's the only problem I have with that entire stove. There are so many good things about it. It's built like a tank. It weighs a ton. The racks are solid as heck. The grates on the top are solid cast. We got the range hood to go with it, too and that's also very neat.

The quality of the range is good. But, it's a six-burner and it's in three sections. Every time you cook, if you wanna clean up afterwards, you have to remove the six burners and lift all three of those plates up, because stuff gets stuck between the cracks of all three plates. So, you have food lined in the cracks of the edge of the oven, in between the middle and the left and right plates, the covers that slide down around the burners, and the surface. So, that's a real pain in the neck. It's an 18-piece scrubbing thing that you have to go through. I hate that it's not self-cleaning.

We had a horrible experience with our Viking range. We've had it installed in November of last year and our oven has not worked since installation. The range is very expensive and I did not expect to not have it function. Technicians came and they were rushing. This first repair was a misdiagnosis. They looked up the code and the code told them what was broken. They ordered the part. They replaced the inducer motor or the motor for the fan. They told her everything was working but as soon as she tried turning it on, it didn't work. We had them come back out. They then diagnosed it was a bad control board. It's been since early January that they ordered that part. They got the board a couple of weeks ago but they scheduled me for April 18th or April 11th because the company was going on vacation.

I told all of this to Viking and customer service was helpful to an extent. They reached out to the company every time I called to complain about something. But they weren't able to expedite the last repair even though we've been four months without an oven. Think twice and to look elsewhere. I work in the HVAC industry and I know all the logistical challenges everybody's dealing with with parts and equipment. Customer service is not a priority right now. I have a friend who remodeled their kitchen five years ago, and they have Viking and the kitchen looks so chic and had clean lines. I went with a six-burner and a full range. The home that we purchased, we seriously upgraded the kitchen and there was a cooktop and a double-stack range which is not my style. I was raised with a one range and I liked the versatility that Viking provided with the 5 Series range that we have. I looked at others and it's just the right size. The six pilots is perfect because there's more room to cook. The space in the conventional oven is large enough, both the top and the bottom, to heat up the turkey and also the casserole and the dressing at the same time. I have the Viking hood and the switch of the light that illuminates the oven range needs to be adjusted because the light blinks on and off. But so far, everything is great. I'm very pleased.

I have the whole set - the microwave drawer which is very sleek, the dishwasher, and the refrigerator. But we had a Samsung which had more space in it than we do in the Viking. That's the only complaint. We're pleased with it. I compared it to other brands. And for what I was willing to pay, Viking fell right in the middle. It wasn't too much for me because, where we live and the upgrades that we've done to the home and the overall increase in value, I thought that the appliances should reflect the neighborhood. It's one of those things wherein that is a fixture that adds value to the house. Kitchens and bathrooms sell a home. And to walk into a kitchen, especially ours, from how it was when we purchased it, to have so many nice upgrades and one of the top of the line appliances, it added instant value to our home. That was the other reason why the whole package was worth it.

But it kept getting pushed out and I wanted to get our kitchen up and running. So, I ended up finding a floor model out of Stockton, that had the piece in stock. It had some scratches on it but they were very minor and they guaranteed a six-month warranty. They delivered it and got it in service.

The Viking is simple to use and there's not a lot of electronics on it which is nice compared to Thermador and other high-end brands. I went with the one with an open range and even though it's rated at 15,000 BTUs, it's probably more because it's open. You're getting the airflow better, so it's actually heating it up better. So far, I love it. It's easy to start. The one thing I dislike is if you take off any of the igniters to clean, they get a little bit on the porcelain and I have to readjust them in order for the igniters to ignite sometime.

The other issue I've had is that it has to kick on numerous times to get the igniter to ignite. So, every once in a while, it'd have a little gas smell. I talked with the retailer that I bought it from about it, and they were gonna fix that. But my father-in-law who's familiar with Viking stove, he’s like, “Yeah. I’ll show you. It’s just this.” We ended up just moving the igniter a little bit. And then it took off, and no questions asked. Also, I'm not sure if the convection part is working properly because it makes a little rattle from time to time. Otherwise, the Viking has been reliable.

The Viking range was so pretty. I got one that's jet black with rose gold accent. It's one of my fancy splurges for the kitchen. My house was being renovated and the designer did all of the ordering. The installation of the range was easy. They had a nice team come in and set everything up and level it. The range works really well. I like the fact that you're not actually sitting the pot on the burner. You're sitting it on the little metal thing above the burner. It's set up pretty high from the burner. There's an indentation in the burner so the flame is set down in the indentation, which means that it keeps you further away from the flame. You have to work very hard to burn yourself. That's a really nice safety feature.

The range also works quickly. There are lots of options on how to set the temperature. I like the fact that the knobs light up when a particular burner is being used because it's also easy to know if a burner is on. If the pilot light didn't light, you don't have to worry about gas flowing because the light is on will tell you which burner is active.

We switched it to Viking and I've been really happy with it so far. But the back of the range has a cut-in, assuming that your gas feed comes on the left side. Our feed comes in on the right side so we had to slide the range out until we were able to move our gas feed to the left side. If it had probably cut out going across it and the air would cut out, that would have been much better than having a big cut-out only on one side.

We've had a very poor experience with our Viking. I had to return it to the store twice and then ultimately replace it with a different brand altogether. Most of the issues stem from a true ignition type igniter which is how the Vikings operate. So, when you set it to cook, it goes tick, tick, tick, and then lights itself up. But then, it shuts down. Also, to maintain temperature every few minutes, it tick, tick, ticks and fires up again. Once it comes up to temperature, it has clanging sounds.

It also has an extremely loud fan that runs constantly the moment you turn the oven on. That was what we sought to fix via a replacement of the unit. The first one we received had a miscut piece in the air vent at the back. At first, they serviced it and said it was probably a defective fan. So, we swapped it with a brand-new one and it had the same problem. It cooks fine but it's loud. My wife is a gourmet chef and she can appreciate the higher quality of things. She's much happier with the LG that we ended up getting versus the Viking.

Our experience with the range so far has been very nice. The only thing is that when we're trying to light the burners, they don't ignite really quickly. The cleanup of ours is manual but we haven't had issues doing it ourselves. The only downside is that there's no thermostat and you can't see what temperature the oven's at. Other than that, I recommend purchasing one. Just make them give you an oven thermometer. For what you pay for the stove, I would think they would give you one of those.

We were promised the delivery date of our Viking Range was some time at the end of June of last year. But we kept getting pushed off. We were told it would be two more weeks. It just kept going and going. Finally, we got ahold of somebody high up in Pirch who said that we might not have it until the middle of this year. We started calling around. I decided that if I couldn't have a Viking, it was okay because I just wanted an oven. I hadn't had one in almost a year. We finally found someplace in New York that had a model that we ended up purchasing.

It got delivered in November of last year, five months after our original date was promised and it was dented. We got ahold of somebody. They told us that they would get a new part out to us. But we still haven't gotten a new part out. I'm super disappointed. It was also broken when it was delivered and it took five weeks to get it fixed. But I love cooking on it. It's amazing. We've made some pizza dough and I've used the proofing feature, which I didn't even know it had. That was really cool.

We wanted the kitchen to be more of a showplace than just an average functional kitchen. We ordered all of the appliances at the same time in January 2021, but they weren't delivered until end of May. So, there was a long delay in the arrival of the appliances. We had them all there at the same time before they would start the remodel of the kitchen. Everything was on backorder at that time. There was a lack of inventory everywhere. We knew that going in, and most every appliance brand we looked at had some sort of delay on it. And we wanted all the appliances to match so we ordered accordingly and waited, which put us farther down the list on the contractors list, which was a long delay.

The range works great. My wife loves it. The only real incident we had that we didn't know we would have was when we got everything installed, the icemaker didn't work. And that didn't get fixed until January of 2022. Once we got it in, we had to go through the customer service thing because it wasn't making ice. Viking sent somebody out. He checked it out and had to order a new icemaker. When it came in, they installed it and everything worked fine.

And at this point in time in my life, that is what I needed. It's easy to clean. The power of the burners is the biggest thing. I've used the convection a fair amount. Although I can't use it now because there has been a recall on some part of the oven and I'm waiting for that. I can't use the oven but I can use the range top.

I used the oven at Thanksgiving and cooked a whole meal in the oven. I had four different things going on at the same time. It was very good. I'm very pleased with the quality of the stove. It seems very well-made and simple. You want to cook, you turn it on, you cook. I like cooking. I like to have the right tools to do what I wanna do. I love it. If you can afford it, do it. They were out four times before somebody said, "We don't ever do this, but we need to replace the range." So, I ended up getting an entirely new range. But there's not been one day that it hasn't been broken and a ticket was open.

Also, if I make a call, it takes at least three weeks to get a response and somebody to work on it. At one point, I waited six weeks to get somebody to come. That's not acceptable. Also, they are are saying, "This part is stuck at...". I am so tired of all these ships because of COVID that are stuck in some foreign space station somewhere that nobody knows exists. But the product has been good once they give me the one that's working. I would buy Viking again because of the product. It was the follow-up that I have a problem with. My Viking range is new and one of the burners sometimes just continuously clicks. Plus, one of the lights isn't even in the thing that shines down on the knobs. I got a Viking dishwasher with it six months ago and I already replaced that. We got rid of it as it had some sensor error and we were disappointed with our experience. I talked to Viking about it but I haven't called about the oven yet. I got to have them put the light in on the knob as there's a hole where there's a gap where that might go. But the guys that came out and installed it did a very good job. Still, sometimes when you walk by, you smell a little bit of propane. My house is big so you don't really notice it, per se, but I noticed it. Then, they didn't level it right.

When you deal with Viking, you got to go back to the shipper. Their customer service is all right though it seems like their service doesn't cover a lot of things. When the dishwasher went out, they said it was the sensor and must have been a problem with the install. Then pretty much, they told me that I got to go back to the installer. So then I dealt with them and they said it was dented by Viking. So, I went back and forth and nobody got me a dishwasher.

In the grand scheme of everything, I called Viking because my wife and I, we cook a lot and we really use our professional kitchen as it should. At first, I went to register online with Viking and I was able to register one item. Then it said to call customer service. So I called customer service, and took photos of all the items as well as their serial numbers. I got an email back saying they're registered and they're all out of warranty. I thought that was impossible since we just bought them. I was very frank with them and I explained it through the email.

I also spoke with three different people. At first, someone from customer service said they could make an exception here. Then it went to someone else until finally, someone said it's their policy and they don't do that. It was the most cold email I've ever received from a company and I couldn't believe this. Now, screws are popping out of my oven and I don't know where they're coming from.

I heard about Viking over the years being quality, so I was excited when I could finally get my own. I got my stove in November and we would hear this loud noise as we were heating up the oven and I didn't worry about it. It sounded like metal bending and I said, "Oh, it's just new. It just needs some time to loosen up, warm up, get used to -- just to be operated." But it kept happening. My daughter's like, "Mommy, I don't know. This doesn't sound right. It keeps doing this." We finally decided to call. First, I called the place that I made the purchase from and he didn't return my call. So, I decided to call Viking directly and they were very helpful, told me there was a recall on the part of that particular series, and then the ball started moving. They took care of it, told me what was going to happen and what we needed to do.

Right now, I'm waiting for parts to be delivered to me. I already have a contact person that they gave me that will do the installation of those parts. They recommended me not to use the oven. I can use the stovetop, but not the oven. So, that's what I've been doing for the last two weeks. I love the stovetop. It gives very even cooking. Also, I like that you can take the whole top part. Each piece comes off so I can get to every part to clean it.

They weren't carrying a lot of different things because of inventory issues with COVID. So, we ended up ordering it online through a website called Appliances Connection. We got it within six weeks. So, it was great. Install was seamless. I'm pretty happy with the rebate.

As far as the range itself, I like that the knob lights up and that I can change the colors on it. I like also the bronze gold colored burners. What I don't like about it is you can't keep the bronze gold color burners looking new. They're already discolored. So, that's frustrating. Also, in the oven, it's hard to tell when it's at temperature, as well as there's no broil setting, which is strange. I've never had another without broil setting on it.

There's a piece called a bullnose, that's where the knobs are on the front, and it wasn't seated properly on the range, and the door was crooked. The whole thing was shifted to one side. It was minor, but at that price point, it needs to be nearly perfect. And that took nine months to get. The second one came two and a half months later and it was also defective. It had some quality problems on it. It showed up, we pulled it out of the box, and the installer took it back. The third one came two months after that and that's the one we have and it's fine. It's an electric oven. The temperature is off by 25 degrees. So, we bought our own thermometer that we keep installed inside of it so that we get a bit more accurate readout. The igniter didn't work and the center oval burner had a slight twist, so it would not even sit flat on the stove so that the flames could go through it. It took two months to get the parts. Those two things were unusable. I tried to bake and it took two and a half hours to bake a pie because all the heat kept escaping out of the oven. So that drained our propane.

When the range was delivered, the door didn't stay closed and we noticed the light was on. Last Friday, I walked in the kitchen at night and the oven light was on. I went over to turn the light off but it wouldn't go off. I pushed on the oven door and it's just hanging open. Viking did replace all the hinges but it's still not staying closed. I'd like that light replaced because it was on 24/7 for the first two months, and then now again. So I called yesterday for service. I have to wait for someone else from Viking to call me back to make an appointment. So that's not good.

Also, the grates that came when it was delivered were all funky, like they sprayed it with coating oil and it was already white. It had not been a complete coating. The Viking that I tried in the showroom sounded good and solid. I opened and closed all those doors. The range is beautiful but I am really disappointed. This is Viking. It was $4,000 and there was another $125 to install it. It should've come perfect.

But that was kind of my fault.

The Viking appliances are made to last. Between this refrigerator and my old refrigerator, for some reason, the things wouldn't last as long as they do in this Viking. The different departments and the bins in the refrigerator makes it so you can put things in different temperatures. That’s a heaven-sent. When you're a chef or you like to cook, you need things right there. You don't need to be running around the kitchen. With all those different drawers, I got the vegetables in one thing and I even have wine in one of the compartments. So, it's an excellent piece of equipment. It makes cooking easier. My favorite feature of the range is the simmer. But I like the one on the right-hand side in the front because I like to cook things and get the heat high on it. You could cut up two chicken breast that might be cold and put it in there, and it would get nice and hot where it would start to brown. In a normal stove, that would not happen.

If I had to do it again, I’m definitely going to be using Viking. When you want something to last and you want to pay the money for a good appliances and good equipment, Viking’s the best. When you spend the extra dollars for something, it changes your life. I was cooking on just an electric stove top and I only had four burners. So, to go from that electric stove top to my Viking, it's like getting a brand new Mercedes Benz. I can't believe how easy it is for me to cook things such as baked potatoes and big rib roast. I've cooked them all. Viking is expensive but you're paying for the quality of it. If you want the best, you got to pay a little extra, and it’s well worth it.

We had a service call because one of the back burners wasn't lighting correctly and they were pretty responsive. But it took a few days for the local service team to contact me and they were three weeks away. I took everything apart and I cleaned everything. I took it out in the garage and I blew it out with the air hose and it worked fine. But I do have a problem with the boiler that won’t stay lit. I have to call in for service on that. Other than that, the quality is pretty good, although the fit and finishes could be improved a little bit. There were blemishes in some of the stainless steel that I would not have expected that I would have to polish out.

We purchased Viking appliances excited about the quality of the product. Since installed, the 5 Series Range has been nothing but issues. We first contacted Viking about the issues in April 2021. Over 8 months, multiple emails to Viking (because no one will ever get on the phone) and multiple service visits, not all the issues are resolved. The most significant issue remaining is the fan. When running, there is a loud, metal on metal rattling sound. It has been one of the issues from the onset, but Viking has not even acknowledged it! When the service tech heard it, he had no idea how to resolve and apparently did not even note it in his technical write up. Over the past month, Viking has stopped responding to my emails. I am beyond frustrated with the product and the lack of customer support from Viking. Avoid the company because you will get no support if you have an issue.

The range is amazing and it's like the centerpiece for the kitchen. But I've had igniter issues, the hood has a switch that broke, and two of the ovens didn't work. Although I'm sure it'll be amazing once it gets fixed. It has a feature where it lights up in the front and I can light it to white or a royal blue. In the evening, when I turn on all the mood lighting, I usually turn my stove on because it's beautiful and it’s lit. I love the range and I recommend it.

The oven that we bought from Viking took about eight months to ship and when it came, it was damaged. We had to wait another month and a half to fix one part, so it could be fully operational. So, I don't have a lot of confidence that the rest of the machine is going to last that long. The broiler specifically had to be rebuilt in our house. The microwave hasn't worked properly since installation and after three months, we finally got Viking to replace it instead of fixing it.

It's nice having a high BTU range, which was what I was looking for, as a home chef. The oven seems to be working fine and the microwave has some good features if it would work. There should be open communication between the retailer and the Viking Middleby company. I'm disappointed. If I had known now what we would have gone through, I probably would have chosen a different option. We were simply upgrading our kitchen and we had something that was working that we got rid of for this.

We purchased a free standing Viking Professional Range for our kitchen remodel. After a couple of years the griddle went on one night by itself and started a fire in our kitchen at 3am. Needless to say this was a harrowing experience. We had to have our entire kitchen and living room cleaned and repainted. The response from Viking was to send out a repair guy and change the control. Viking offered nothing for the cost of the fire damage and pushed back on helping out with even providing a new griddle cutting board.

A couple of weeks ago the replacement switch went off by itself in the middle of the night again. Causing a second fire in our kitchen at 1:30am. We have contacted Viking and they offered to send out a repair company to replace the control again. We want this range removed from our home. This Viking Range is dangerous. There is a national recall on these. Look out for their expensive junk.

Viking was bought by Middleby a few years ago. Since then the products are truly not worth it. They are cheaped out cost contained products at a high price. They put some stainless steel fronts with nice logos and call it professional. It is very poorly made unreliable sparkly stuff. Run from this place. Don't walk. Buy a Wolf or a Samsung not this junk....

It is unfortunate that I have to write this on a brand such as VIKING since I have had nothing but troubles on the 48" range and the big side by side refrigerator. Over the years we had several problems including the refrigerator door that fell off and almost hurt my wife had it not been for the kitchen island that stopped the fall on her. Thankfully Viking replaced the door but it shouldn't have happened. Now the range, right from the beginning we had issues with the right sided burners and grill not working, the oven that always made a hissing sound every so often when in use which we didn't know was a faulty burner and fire spreader plate. On 4 occasions we had the Fire department coming to our house because of Carbon-monoxide leak from the oven that triggered the alarm which, thankfully, is hooked to the Fire Dept. The latest being this Thanksgiving Day while the oven was in use.

When discussing this with Viking customer service, the answer we got was that "upper management" couldn't help and suggested a repair service company. The service company stated that this is not an isolated issue but common with VIKING. The parts alone is quoted at over $1200.00 plus labor. If anyone is thinking of buying a VIKING product - think twice before you spend the tens of thousands for this poor quality brand like we did several years ago. Shame on you VIKING.

The certified technician came out and he said that the fan noise was normal and then the popping noise would go away in a short while, and it still hasn't. We haven't been happy with the resolution on it. I need to reach back to Viking to get the service person back out. But other than that, we like it. Those are just probably defects. We've had problems with every single appliance that we've purchased from Viking. The refrigerator has been making a weird noise. We had the guy come today to look at the noise and he couldn't figure it out. On the stove, two of the back burners would only light up partially and they take 10 seconds to fully light up. The guy looked at that too and cleaned some stuff up. The back burners are working a little bit faster but they're still on the slow side.

When we got our dishwasher, the motherboard was broken and we had to have a brand new one because when we turned it on, it would continuously run. The timer would not count down regardless of what cycle we put it on. I'm not fully happy because of all the problems we've been having. But the problems have been addressed and looked at. I'm a little worried that the two-year warranty isn't going to cover everything because of what we've already experienced.

The quality of Viking is very good. The stovetop and the oven get hot really quickly. I wish it was a little bigger but that was a decision we made and I didn't realize that it would feel as small as it is. But, it doesn't have any fancy electronics and that's a bit hard to get used to at first. We also used to have a griddle but it's okay. We have a better functioning stove or oven and it's definitely an improvement from what we had last.

However, I'm having some trouble. When the Viking arrived, it took some time to get it installed because our kitchen was under renovation. It was more than a month. We got a range, and with it, we also got a dishwasher and that came dented. When we called, the reps were like, “Why didn’t you open it right away?” And we're like, “We were told that it was going to be a very, very long wait because of COVID. And so we ordered it in April, knowing we were renovating in June.” The company that we bought it through was very nice, and they ended up working with us on it. So it turned out to not be a problem. But they came to replace the dented door of the dishwasher and they brought another dented door. So then we waited again. It took a long time to get it all settled.

On the oven, the light shows that it's preheating or that it's on. Sometimes, we can hear the gas lighting. Also, there have been numerous times where I come back to look at my potatoes and the oven has been off the whole time and this happens a lot. But it’s not like it was smelling gas in the house. So we’re starting to be able to piece together that there’s something that’s not right. It has happened at least seven times where I'll start the oven, it will be hot, I'll put my food in, I'll go back, and then the whole meal is ruined because it's not hot anymore. But it's on 400.

Our Viking range has been really good. We did have one small problem with it very shortly after owning it. Two of the burners wouldn't light. The person who they had come out and service it was awesome and had it fixed really quickly, but he said, “I just don't like how one of these is lighting. It's still lighting fine, but I just don't want to leave here and say it’s fixed. And then in three months, you have another problem.” So, he came out a second time, even though it was working when he left, and replaced that igniter entirely. It was great customer service from them. The only challenge with Viking is totally esthetic. The only frustrating part is that the surface below the grates are very shiny black, and they're the ultimate dust collector if you're not keeping on top of it.

Also, I had to make a few adjustments because the back was a little above an inch higher than the one I had. The only thing I don't like is the color of the tops of the burners because if anything drops on them, they spot and it looks speckled. It doesn't look clean. If those could have been black, that would have been great. I don't know if I could buy replacements for them and if they're in black. I've paid a bunch of money for this and I'm not so sure that I want to put a whole lot more into it. Other than that, it's a beautiful piece of appliance and I would recommend it. It's the focal point of the kitchen and I did not swap out the vent that I had because the range matched it perfectly.

Also, the company I bought it from is fabulous. They were there with me the whole time for delivery and installation. All the guys were wonderful when they came in and they were so careful in bringing it in. Then, I had a follow-up from Viking. I love my Viking range. What I don’t like about it is when the knobs get a little bit older, the numbers rub off of them, and you can't use it. I never would have bought a Viking because of that reason at all. All my friends that have Viking, once their stove is a couple of years old, you can’t read anything on it. Wherein the Wolf stove, the numbers are embedded into the knobs so even if the paint wears off on them, you still have the numbers.

The install of the Viking range was easy. But once it was installed, when I ran the convection fan, it was rubbing into something behind the stove. But the technician tried to come out and fix it to me. The other problem that I noticed with the Viking that I'm gonna have to modify was I ordered the extended backsplash for it, and it doesn't fit. It was the proper extended backsplash for it so what I have to do is the stove has to be cut in order to accommodate the bigger backsplash. The backsplash is sitting at my house, unused, because I'm going to wait for the factory warranty to expire on this, then I'm going to cut the back of the stove and fit it.

It’s better than our other stove. I like the look of our Viking range. The heating overall is solid and it heats up quickly. It evenly cooks things on the burners, too.

The overall process to get the oven was a huge nightmare, and it wasn’t necessarily Viking’s fault. It was AJ Madison's fault. They ended up lying to us about the lead time several times and told us it was only four to six weeks. So, we scheduled kind of all of our construction around it. We got rid of our old stove. Then, it ended up being more than 16 weeks. So, it ended up being a huge situation that could have been easily avoided had they just been honest with us from the beginning. We could never get any updates. Then, once we got it, two things didn't work. We had to have someone come back and fix it. But the wait time to get someone to come fix it was several weeks for each thing. So, that was disappointing. But the people, once they were here, they were able to fix it quickly.

We looked at the Thermadors and I wasn't excited with what I saw. We went for the Viking, and we love it. It's solidly made and we like the fact that the BTUs are very high. That was one of the selling items compared to a lot of them. It's over 20,000, where a lot of them were 18,000 and below. From a cleanup perspective, it's easier to access because we've got the big panels on top that lets you get to everything. The burner things are easy to clean and made really well. They're heavy.

We had to have one of the burners swapped out and the fire bar underneath adjusted on the last range we purchased. It was really smooth to deal with customer service and the rep that came out was amazing. On the whole, the Viking range is expensive but it's worth it. I wish I could have gotten a bigger one. We had a horrible time with our Viking when we first got it in. I contacted Viking and they got on the ball and got the range serviced. I liked the people I dealt with. Also, the range cooks good, although I'm not used to the oven yet. It seems like my cakes and stuff have been all right but with biscuits, I'm having to put it up on a higher temperature to even get them to brown good. That bothers me. And the quality inside the oven kind of disappointed me. The racks from the other stove that I had were more of a quality than the ones I have now. Also, in the book, it says to use "just soap and water" for cleaning but that won't do it all the time. That worries me. It's very important to have a product that you can clean with other than just soap and water.

On the top part of the oven door towards the inside of my Viking range, the metal was not filed or buffered or sanded down. It’s a real dangerous place for it to be and I cut my finger closing it one time. I took the time to take everything off and use some sandpaper to sand down those edges. That's something that they need to look at. Also, I wish the legs were more adjustable than they are. My counter height is about an inch lower than what they had because of tile that was put on the floor, so I had to do some modifications to make all that work.

Viking's pricing is a little high and for that price, I would have figured it would not have the issues that I had. I wouldn't have minded paying the price. But I had to do all these little things to it and that kind of bothered me. Other than those, I love it and I enjoy everything about it. I love the burners and the layout. I love to cook and it does really good. This particular model is the only model that they offer like this with a convection oven in it, which I think is awesome.

We researched Viking and Wolf, and we decided to go with Viking. The sales rep at Best Buy kind of talked us into it when we went and started pricing out and looking at all the different merchandise. Then when we heard that we could get a 5% cashback by purchasing them, that was the determining factor. The look of our Viking range is stunning. We love how it cooks everything evenly. We bought the range and we bought the French wall oven. We like both of them. We've been trying to clean the wall oven and we are a little confused on that because you put water because it’s a steam clean, and it’s just different than what we're used to how an oven cleans. My husband put some water in it and then turns it on to self-cleaning. It just didn't clean as much as we thought.

We bought the hood, the range, the wall oven, the microwave and we have been waiting six months for a fridge and freezer that we purchased as well. But I left a message this morning because I have not received any of my rebates when I went online and did all that. I called at 9:00 and I chose mountain time because we live in Colorado, and they said that they were closed, but it was almost nine o'clock and I haven't heard anything back. They have not returned my phone call, too.

Right now, the door springs are broken and the techs are coming tomorrow to fix them. It took way too long to order the parts. I called in June and I still don't have an oven. I have the professional series and I thought it would have been bigger. But I got just a regular sized cookie sheet and it almost scraped the walls of the oven because of the way they have the handles on the edges. I have to get rid of that now and get smaller ones.

I love everything about my Viking range. This is probably my fourth Viking. The two homes I purchased had Viking Ranges in them previously. Then I have a home down in the Dominican Republic, and that range in there is around 30 years old. I just replaced the igniters on it, and it works like it's brand new. It's amazing. I like the longevity. The price point is pretty high, but they last forever.

We're still waiting on service for the range in my house. The far right bottom igniter has never worked. The service people are coming back out tomorrow, but this is their third visit. I’m a little apprehensive because they took the whole panel off on the front where there are 10 adjusting knobs. I told them, “Guys, it's the igniter. I don't know if you're supposed to do that.” One tech said, “Well, I ordered this part, but my boss says it's another part.” I told him, “But your boss wasn't here diagnosing it originally.” So that's kind of ass-backwards and the guy was here for about four hours. Also, I've noticed that when I turn on the gas, sometimes the flame is higher on one side than the other. I had to keep turning on the pan when I was cooking.

There are two things that I would love to see incorporated into the range. One, there's no clock, which makes me a little bit crazy because I’m obsessed with time sometimes. Two, being able to program the oven. There's no programming feature. With the old oven I had, you could put something in the oven and program it to start baking in an hour or two hours. The range is a professional system and it’s designed for professional kitchens. So maybe some of those retail-oriented features don't come in that model. But it would be good if it did.

In 2005 in gave myself my dream kitchen. Room for 4 + of us to work in the kitchen at the same time, lots of cabinets for storage and countertops for work space and, most of all, high end appliances. Almost from the beginning I regretted my choice of Viking products. They look good, but... Let's start with my double wall oven, one of the ovens takes 30-40 minutes to come to temp, wile the other is about 8-10 minutes. They claim it was designed that way. Why? No answer. The thermostat in one oven went out within 2 years, which meant I had to have the cabinet person here at the same time to fix the oven because they wouldn't work on it otherwise. Then there is the cleaning process which takes darn near a whole day not to mention a lot of electricity!

Next, the stovetop, backsplash, hood units. The hood works fine, not very easy to clean and is very loud. The stainless backsplash arrived with scratches. It has the fold down racks for warming etc. When I called, they said they would send someone, so it was installed, after a couple of months, they said I needed to return it for repair! Not possible! I would have to uninstall cabinet trim, stove top and hood for that to happen. They said that was my only option so I have lived with the scratches for the last 15 years. The stove top is 90% great! However, cleaning is a nightmare! There are so many nooks for things to spill into, crumbs to fall into and NO way to get them out short of totally dismantling the whole stove which would require a pro. There is a pull out crumb tray but it's always un-nerving to clean it as there are random wires hanging down and seem to manage to get caught when you are trying to clean.

Next the 48" refrigerator/freezer unit. Just over the 6 year mark by a couple of months, the fridge stopped working! Service people had been here on 2 prior occasions for the temp of fridge not being correct. They basically said, too bad, soo sad! The unit became a storage compartment as I battled with Viking. They finally offered a 50% off a new unit which was still a hefty price tag for a 6 year old fridge even though service had been here for cooling issues. The "new" one has been mostly fine but, the freezer gaskets don't seal well til the door is leaned on!

Last but not least, the dishwasher, First it took a few months for them to get the order right, there was a bracket required for the install and they couldn't manage to get one here, nearly 6 months later, I finally had a dishwasher. What I quickly learned is that you almost have to wash your dishes before you put them in the washer, and the bottom rack rollers are insufficient for rolling the rack in and out when it is only half full of dishes. Their solution is to SELL you wider rollers for $100. and the rack still won't stay on the track! It is quiet (some consolation) So, in the 15 years since my dream kitchen was built, I get lots of "WOW's" when people come in for the first time but I always tell them, "looks can be deceiving" and if you actually want to use the products, cook with them, bake with them, don't bother with Viking, coz looks are their only specialty.

Th experience with Viking has been good so far. The silver is fantastic but it’s funny how things are made nowadays. The old Viking stove was a lot heavier and solid compared to the new one. But the stove works great and I have no issues with it. When it first came out, they had to come and fix the seal on the front glass. During manufacturing, it was smooshed and not done right. But they fixed it quickly. I like how quickly and evenly the range cooks. But in trying to clean it up, I take the grates on and off and I noticed that the shiny part that’s the top of the stove scratches super easily. My last one didn’t do that so the coating isn't as good as it used to be.

The range that I got from Viking is not very different from the one I had that was 20 years old. It had fewer features though. I used to have a separate grill and a separate griddle. They consolidated them into one area with a pan that flips over and it's not quite the same. But the burners are nicer and it’s easier to clean. The top of the stove looks great and the lights are a nice accent. But after that, I had problems. I've had to call repair services out here three times, so far. They eventually got them fixed. But it's strange. I buy a $500 stove that lasted me 10 years and I had no problems. I buy a $15,000 range and within two or three months of owning it, I have to call to get repairs made. It was not what I was expecting.

I regret, a little bit, buying the range. I was banking on the American made name and Viking has a long history, but Middleby has purchased them, seeing there have been some changes in quality and how it was working. And the new range manifested this very same issue as the 20-year-old one I replaced started to have towards the end of its lifecycle. So that was unfortunate. Probably, had I done it again, I would have bought a Wolf or some other range instead.

It's a tough year because we bought the Viking range during COVID. We bought it last October but we couldn't get it until February or March. It was the same with our SubZero refrigerator. It's just the way it was last year. Our contractor put the range in and the ease of install was fine. They did the kitchen remodel and then, we redid counters and cabinets. The range heats up fast and even, and the stove and the burners work well. But the grates started showing wear. There are dings in it, like you dropped something on the grates or they're torn off, and we hardly use it. The quality is not standing up to the price we paid for it.

One thing I would like to have known is to burn it up before you try to cook something in it. I should have read the directions. We set off the smoke detectors. A sticker on the window might be a good idea. My wife had surgery and we had someone come to help my wife, and she was the one who used the oven first. The burners were easy to use. I had gas for the last 30 years so it was not hard so we didn't think about reading the instructions. We read them after we almost had the fire department called. Fortunately, we have good ventilation in the house and we have a Viking hood but that was what was expensive.

They're only a couple of years old but I'm not happy with them. I'm very disappointed with Viking and I'm looking to replace the appliances that I have. With the open burner range, it feels very rickety and I have to take it apart to clean it quite often. But I'm fearful about cleaning it. Looking inside, there are these loose wires and I need to clean the inside very carefully for fear that I will dislodge some wire or something.

Also, I have a dishwasher and a microwave that have failed and the refrigerator freezes milk but doesn't have even temperature regulation. I have to keep waiting weeks and months to get it serviced again. I have talked to numerous people and I still don't have an oven that works. This has been since day one. I'm not happy with the service.

We've already had three issues with the range. First, the wiring harness for the burners that they installed was wired backward so they came and fixed that. Then, the thermocouple in the oven was bad and it cycled way too frequently. It took a long time to get parts but it's fixed. The third issue, which isn't resolved yet, is there's a warp in one of the panels. As the oven heats up, that warp kicks loose and we hear a bang. These issues should have been caught by decent quality control and they weren't. But the oven works and I love it. I love how easy it is to clean and maintain and it cooks amazingly.

I love the stove. It cooks fast. The quality is good and Viking has always been good. But the ordering process was a disastrous nightmare. Viking should not ever let Best Buy sell their products again. I totally understand that there’s a shortage of product and people to build product. But Best Buy ordered it for me, initially, then they canceled the order, then they triple billed me. I was paying $18,000 for the stove at one point. Then, come to find out, it sat in their warehouse for two months. Then they shipped it and brought it, but they brought the wrong one. They ordered a propane stove instead of a gas stove. I had to pay somebody to come in and put the conversion kit in. It was disaster after disaster after disaster.

When you schedule the installation service, you had to pay for that at the time even though you may have been a couple weeks out. That was the only thing that was kind of sketchy but it worked out. The range is a beautiful unit and it works well. We're happy with it. I like the induction heating too.

There have still been some installation problems, but we’re working on it. The range does not sit all the way in because the gas hookup isn’t compatible with a spec home. So there's a three-inch gap between the range and the wall. We were told by Nebraska Furniture Mart, which is where we bought the range, that we needed to get an L joint to connect it and push it further back. But they haven't been able to do that. They've given us absolutely no guidance in what to do about it now. Changing it from a connector that comes up through the floor is simply not an option.

According to our builder, it's not usual to put the gas line through the floor. It’s usual to put it through the wall because ranges normally have a dead space at the bottom. Apparently, Viking does not. It’s not my first Viking, so I don't know why it never happened before. Nebraska Furniture Mart has been zero help. So we’re working with our builder to see what we can do. The range is not flushed against the wall. So when the automatic fan comes on, it vibrates like crazy. We’ve built several houses and we’ve had Viking range before. We like it and it’s a good range. We’ve never had any problems with the actual functioning of the range.

I always knew of Viking and I wanted more of a commercial stove. But when I bought from them, the time frame was awful. I ordered in November and I got it in January. There was also an issue with the stove and that was very frustrating. But it got fixed. Then, I had a scratch on it which was right at the surface of the stainless steel ledge. Their person ended up telling me that it was a really common place and it was going to get scratched eventually. So I just told her to forget it, which stinks. But it is what it is and I couldn't wait any longer. I wasn't going to send the range back for a small scratch, but it still shouldn't have been there.

Aside from that, Viking did not handle any issues with me. I had to go through the seller, which was frustrating because they just kept saying they were waiting. So because of COVID, it took a while, which I understand. But there was no follow-up whatsoever, so you felt it was a burden calling. Everybody was calling with the same stuff and they were mad about it. I have little children and I didn't have appliances for months. That was so hard and I will never do that again. I love the stove now. It's big and I can cook whatever I want whenever I want because the size is nice. I also like that each burner is the same size. But there was so much trouble that I don't know that I would buy a Viking range again.

We liked the functionality of the Viking Ranges, the induction on one side, gas and griddle. When I was getting my range, it was quick because it was on the floor and they wanted to get it out as soon as possible. So through TA Appliances, I got it within a week or so. Then I had an appliance guy who came in, installed a power cord, and put it in for me. We use our stove quite a bit and in terms of functionality, it’s very good. But I ran into one problem that is currently being looked into. The ignition of my backburner is not coming on and not lighting that well.

I called the TA Appliance guy who I got the range from and he set things up so that I was called by whoever the service team is here close to me. They were okay but some better communication as to what the problem was in the process would have been appreciated. I had to call a few times to really understand what the holdup was on getting parts. They said that they couldn't get parts over right away, but that wasn't communicated well.

Other than that, my Viking range is fantastic. There are two ovens and there's a small oven on the right side. It would have been nice to get a second rack in there since we often have multiple things in there because of the conduction. There are three positions you can put the racks in but I couldn't find one. There's none on the website or anywhere you can buy one. It'd be nice to grab some of those kind of accessories. But I managed to get a bamboo cutting board cover for the griddle and that worked out nicely.

We purchased an expensive D3 series Viking oven thinking that paying a LOT more (than ie a Samsung or Kitchen Aid) will offer us a lot better product. WRONG!!

Yesterday midnight we heard a loud noise in the kitchen. Short story we went to the kitchen and found the décor front oven black glass on the floor shattered in a thousand tiny pieces (the oven was off!). We babied this oven and it has low use!! I mean we babied it like our own eyes!!

I called several places that carry Viking authorized parts to replace the glass at my expense (even though I am most sure this was a defect on the glass that on the long run stressed out) and I was SHOCKED to hear that this is a "special" order that the factory no longer makes. SO I am now stuck with an originally $4,000+ boat anchor that we cannot use due to the fact that Viking, supposedly a very "high end" American manufacturer decided not to sell replacement parts anymore. I have had several other ovens during the course of my life. MUCH lower priced i.e Samsung that NEVER - EVER had an issue getting service, replacement parts and certainly not a single one had a glass explode on its own. This is TOTAL GARBAGE - stay away from this manufacturer and buy other appliances. UNHEARD OF!!!

Our Viking range broke. Our range had two flaws in it, one of them was rather dangerous. The manifold, which serves all the burners, had a leak in it. It wasn't because of the way it was connected, it was because it wasn't inspected properly by Viking. The other thing is, it also had a broken shelf in it. Those are two things that should have been found before it was ever released from their Viking warehouse. The company we bought it from brought it here to my house and took it out of the box, so it was not something they did.

We contacted the company we bought it from, which is Abt Electronics, because within 30 days, we have the right to return it without question. What they wound up doing was replacing our range with another range that they had promised at a later date. We had two different people come out. I had the gas company come out and check the gas lines to the range. Because I had my gas connection replaced because I thought that that was what the problem was until we had Abt Electronics come out. Their technician was the one, after taking part of the range apart, who found the actual problem.

This is not a cheap range because it's a 36-inch range, it's larger than most. It's something my wife has always wanted because she does a lot of cooking. This was something we were moving up to something that was really special. We were originally very disappointed with the problems we had. Overall, it took a couple of weeks to find and fix the problem during the holidays. But as far as I'm concerned now, I would recommend the product. The range holds heat very well. Certainly heats what we put on the stove evenly.

I like the look and performance of Viking products. They’re a good solid product and it's American-made. That's the reason I buy it. I have a range and it's my third one with them. My only complaint is their fulfillment of parts after the purchase. If you need parts, it takes a long time to get them. I'm still waiting on a part right now. Also, those little parts could be a little cheaper. The range cover where the pots sit on is stupidly expensive and so are the LED lights that illuminate the knobs. There's no way those parts cost $60. They probably get them for a couple of bucks and they charge customers for $60 or $80.

Other than that, the product is fine. I like that the range heats things up quickly. One of my first ranges had the grill and a griddle. But Viking took the grill out, which was kind of a bummer. I would have bought their latest range if they had those features built in. For heating up and cooking, it puts out a ton of heat and that’s why I buy it.

I looked at the reviews for Viking and it seemed that it was a very good high-end product. I went ahead and did the upgrade with them. But the quality is not there compared to the KitchenAid product that was installed in most of the units that we bought. With the upgrade value, we've been having nothing but problems. We had to replace the bottom freezer drawer and it's still not working. It's still uneven and the representatives couldn't get that straightened out. They had to go back again. We're still waiting to hear about what's gonna happen. Also, the side paneling where you have the temperature and the other things that you can do with the refrigerator was damaged. It's a brand-new refrigerator and I already had to have the door replaced. And there's no water dispenser in the refrigerator. It's totally not worth it and I regret it. I've been telling other people not to get it.

We also have the dishwasher and when you put it on the cycle, there will always be moisture inside. The dishes are drying but the moisture on the back and the front of the door when you open it still exists. That was weird. I've never had a dishwasher that didn't fully dry. This one doesn't even have an upper level the feature where you can put the forks and knives. It was a big fail there. We also got a Viking stove and the fan belt is bent. If you wanna do the convectional oven feature, you would see that it's making a weird noise. It's a brand new stove so why was this happening? And the knob on the stove were all scratched. That was another complaint.

I registered the products and I placed the service ticket. They contacted the vendor or the wholesaler that the general contractor used. The general contractor is Resolute and they did the purchase of the Viking product through Appliance Center. That's the wholesaler who then came out and did the service for us. One of the technicians admitted that he had a lot of issues with the Viking stove. He was aware of them because he does a lot of service calls for Viking stoves. It has not been a good experience for my husband and me. The only thing that we like is the microwave oven. That was the only one that didn't really give us any issues. All in all, I would not and I will never get another Viking again.

We had Viking range many years ago in our other home. We purchased again and when I got the oven, three months later, it stopped working. So I called the distributor that I bought it from and they contacted Viking and got the approval for warranty repair. Then they had a local service company contact me to take care of the problem.

The contractors were fine. The issue with the Viking oven is that the hinges were either the wrong hinges or installed improperly. The oven did not close and stay closed. So during baking, it would overheat and a safety feature would kick in and turn the oven off. It was disappointing to have an oven that we had thought was really a good product, come and basically stop working, not being usable within three months. The service repairman replaced two parts that he thought were temperature-related. But it turned out that it was the door not staying closed that was causing the oven to malfunction. It's working fine now that the door stays closed. I like the range itself now that it works.

I’ve seen Viking Ranges around, and I've seen them evolve into a more sophisticated product than they were originally. They are robust, close to commercial in quality and performance, but have the benefit of being thoughtful of a residential home. They have convection, high heat, and different things one might want, like a broiler and a griddle, and you may or may not want it. And they have stood the test of time. I had a Garland for 25 years. It was commercial and rugged, but it didn't keep up.

The reps were not knowledgeable at the store that I bought it at. But they were not unfriendly. I came prepared, having done my homework. And I felt a little rushed. But too bad for me, you have to have tough feelings. I had an insurance plan and something went wrong. And the insurance wasn't the easiest thing to work out. It was hard to get them and to get help. That was a little slippery.

The irony of it all is my electrician rewired the kitchen and they had switched the neutral. The stove knew it, and was misbehaving, and we thought it was the stove. The people in Brooklyn who fixed it, top shelf. They could have told me anything. They diagnosed the truth. “You got the wrong polarity, fix it”. We fixed it, but the stove was never broken. That is more important to me than the sales people by a mile. Viking has excellent factory trained technicians. Love that.

The reason I bought the Viking was it has a smart sensor. If the flame went out, it knew, and it lighted it. I was stunned at that. It may have been around a long time, but I didn't know about it. So it has everything I’ve seen in lots of places, but it has a smart technology that is lifesaving. It’s fantastic. The caveat is we've had it a few years. The quality is good, and the performance is excellent. We rattle the doors, turn the knobs and spill things just like anybody else. And so far, it's just humming along. I would recommend that stove in a heartbeat. And this is a person who had a Garland for a long time.

The tech said that the first Viking range we got looked like it was dropped. That's the only thing that would explain the problems with the oven cavity being kind of out of kilter. The rep I spoke to about it got kind of snappy with me and said that the tech was not telling me the truth. Also, the range wasn't level. The island vent was up higher on one side than the other and it stood out like a sore thumb. They tried to level it and the only way they could do it was in such a way that the tile backsplash behind it, with the grout lines running across horizontally. And one of the igniters was bent in to touch the burner and the tech said that because of that, it would not ignite. They replaced the range.

They brought the new range in but it has the same problem as far as the back in the island grill not being level with the tiles behind it in the backsplash. The tech came out and he said the guys that installed it screwed up. He was able to level it and it looks fine. But the oven door is also off exactly the same as the first range was. We had a tech here last week for the fourth time. He tried everything, as far as tweaking the door hinges to see if he loosened the hinge screws and tried to move that oven door over to see if that would indeed get some clearance. He was able to improve it a little bit, but it's still clearly wrong when you look at it from the top.

Also, there's a kickplate that goes along the bottom of the range and when it was delivered, it was like it was knocked off of the little hooks that hold it in place. And it was scratched. He looked at the scratch and said they would replace that. He properly reattached it so it looked true and ordered a replacement part. But the replacement part was cut wrong and wouldn't fit. I still have the scratched kickplate.

One more thing is the grates on top. There are three grates, one for each set of two burners, front to back. The one on the right was lower and was kind of dipped to the right side. The tech replaced the little stoppers that it sits on to see if that would make it work but it was still lower on the right side. He had to put washers in the brand-new range to make the grates level. This is their flagship 36-inch range. It's a $14,000 appliance. But the quality could not have been worse. We’re baffled. If I could do this all over again, I would not get a Viking product.

Viking was on sale and that led us to have a look at it. The construction of the range and the write-ups on it seemed generally good. Although, the one in Consumer Reports sucked and so it caused us to think about it. But I chose to ignore their relatively negative reports on the range. The sales representative was a very knowledgeable guy and took us through not only the Viking Ranges, but several of the other competitor ranges to look at the different features, trade-offs, and sort of helped with getting rid of some of the marketing stuff that doesn't matter as much as the functionality.

We love it. It's been nice to use and cooks really well. The only thing that we're having some trouble with is a piezo igniter on the front left. I was wondering what to do about that because it doesn't work very often at all. I might need to have somebody come, have a warranty look at it. But other than that, it's fabulous. We're enjoying it and would recommend it certainly to other people.

The oven has a little light when it comes on and when we set the temperature and the light goes out, that means it has reached the desired temperature. It doesn't say that in the manual. Other than that, everything is working well.

I'm really happy with them. As I was cleaning the stove the other night, I really like it. It's easy to clean. It looks more of a restaurant style kitchen. It looks impressive. It feels good. It's good stuff. It boils faster than the range that we used to have, which is great. I love it. We had a slight scratch on the door and no questions asked, they came out and replaced it. Everything worked with the rebate. I didn't have to fight for it. It was a great experience.

I love my stove. I had to get used to it because of the temperature variation from my old stove to this Viking stove. But I love the style of the stove and the self-cleaning elements of it. I love that it’s lifted from the floor that you can sweep underneath. I also love that it heats up quickly. I love, love, love that it’s stainless steel and you can wipe it down polished easily. I'm very satisfied with my stove.

I have two issues with my stove. One issue is that my kickplate was dented a little bit when they delivered the stove. So I went back to the store and they said that the company was going to call me because they thought they had the kickplates in storage. But then nobody has contacted me yet. The dent is not noticeable. But when I spend that kind of money for an appliance, I want to make sure that there's no dents anywhere. I got the stove delivered in December and it’s April. I know there was a backlog on them, so I was giving them the opportunity to catch up in the backlog and the whole bit, but this has a been a bit long. The other issue is that the knob on the right gets stuck sometimes and it doesn't turn on or off. You can't do anything with it. If I give it a hard turn, then it will go up or down. You don't want anybody that doesn't know the stove doing that. So this developed within the last two weeks and I have to call them in for that.

Viking Ranges was one of the higher-end ranges in the store where we bought it. Having the same size burners on all four on top was attractive to us and the ability to clean up the top compared to some of the other ones. It didn't take long to install the range but we had problems with it for almost two months. The stove wouldn't light on the first try and it took several tries for it to light. We had a technician in. He had to come back four times before he was finally able to figure out what was wrong with it. It was easy enough to get the reps. They come and do it, and think they had it fixed. We'd call them back and then, it would take them a week to come back but they were good to deal with. We're generally happy. The broiler is amazing in it.

We got a Viking Range and one of the burners is not working. The place where I purchased it, Ferguson in Pasadena, sent a repairperson to come and it turned out one of the modules was not working. They were surprised that the module wasn't tested before it left the factory. We ordered a module and they are scheduled to come out and replace that. Also, some of the knobs with which I turn the range are starting to become really sticky and it's taking a bit of force to turn them. Usually, when I turn the range on, I push it in, turn and then I'll hear the clicker start and the burner will come on. Now, I can't feel whether I'm pushing it in or not and the turning isn't as smooth.

Otherwise, the burning is fine. Ferguson was very helpful in getting the repairperson and with scheduling. If something like this occurred after maybe a year or two of use then I would say "Well, maybe the product was kind of defective and using it made it fail." But this is right out of the gate, less than 30 days. I'm having to deal with these two situations in a premium range. I have the Viking hood and microwave oven. They're all working fine except for this range which is not living up to the Viking reputation.

I had a Viking range in my last house and I liked it. I like gas cooking. However, when it came, the front griddle was scratched. Viking put in a ticket for service to get that replaced. They came out once. The tech couldn't do it. Came out again. He couldn't do it. Came out the third time with the replacement burners. Instead of being the silver, they were rose gold. Came back a fourth time. Now, this is only being here to make sure he could get in. In the meantime, also the griddle came. It was rusted. I just got that griddle three weeks ago after purchasing back in August. I love the product but the service was horrendous. I have all Viking in my house. I got another French door oven, the dishwashers, the microwave. It was terrible. A lot of my time spent trying to get things fixed that I shouldn't have been spending time on. Nobody listens to me.

There was so much trouble trying to get the stove in and get it to be finished that I almost said to them, “Come and take it back.” Putting in tickets, waiting here for people to come to the house during COVID. Coming in, he couldn't fix it. Hours taking the whole stove apart, putting stuff all over the floor. Meaning that when his visits came, like the one time he came at 4:00 and I would start cooking dinner around 4:30, he came until 6:30. A lot of little problem things that shouldn't have had to happen. And then they give you a window of eight hours that they will be there. So, you take a day off work. That was just the messy part of it. I did that three times. But the products that they make, I absolutely love. I've had them in my last two homes, and I have a 48- inch stove fuel and I love it.

Initially, we had a difficulty with baking, and then the temperature just cut off. It ended up taking an hour and a half to bake one sheet of cookies after it had warmed up for a good 20 and then 40 minutes. It took a long time. Someone came out, and he said nothing was wrong with and it hasn't done it since. But so far, so good.

I live in an area that is lower population. We don't have as many service people to service. Initially, I was told I would have to wait a month to a month and a half for someone to come out and look at it. I pleaded with the gal on the phone. “Well, it’s just before Christmas, and I have a four-year old. And we're looking forward to baking.” Lo and behold, someone had availability in their schedule. She called me right away and said, “I can get you in right away. Are you available?” I said, “Of course, I am.” I was disappointed in that. I said, “Gosh, if I had any future issues, it would be a bummer to have to wait that long for service.”

In addition, I can’t get a pizza pan to go all the way in. It's not the depth of the oven. It just needs to be an inch and a half further in depth, and then a regular pizza pan could fit in. That was shocking to me. We ran into it on the first day of our move. We had the movers here and I thought, “Oh, I'll just pick up pizzas and cook them in the oven.” Because we live a ways out from any pizza place. I had to cut all the pizzas in order for them to fit into the oven, which is a pain in the neck. And then anytime I go to fix a pizza, I can't use the basic pizza pan, which is a bummer. Other than that, I've enjoyed using the stove top, and the oven has been great since. I've been happy.

Viking appliance are beautiful to look at, however, the quality of them, not so much. I bought a suite of Viking products in 2009 (Stove, Refrigerator, Hood, Convection Microwave, Dishwasher) and have had consistent problems with them since day one. The range being the worst. It's an all-gas 30" model. The surface burners on the range work beautifully. They have gotten me through holiday and entertainment cooking when the oven would stop working. It seem that the oven has a known issue caused by cooking at high temperatures (400 degrees) for a period of time. Not only does the knob control area get so hot that you need an oven mitt to touch them it also, over time, burns out the circuitry that is behind those knobs, caused by condensation and/or heat.

The last incident was the icing on the cake when the oven wouldn't shut off. I had to turn the oven off at the breaker -- a safety issue no doubt. The circuitry is clearly fried again from cooking a chicken in the oven at 425. (The same faulty circuit board was replaced exactly one year ago.) Viking has told me before that the molding needs to be replaced, which it was. No change in heat coming out. The door shuts fine and solid from what I can tell. A recall was done on the stove that supposedly corrects the oven from turning on by itself. I sense that wasn't fixed because I couldn't get the oven to turn off the last time I had an issue.

In a recent email correspondence with Viking, a parts tech said that a fan needs to be repaired or installed under the range-top area where the circuitry is housed. What?! There is no fan and who's paying for that work-around. (Honestly I don't think he knew what he was talking about. This is Viking (Middleby) customer service, mind you.) I don't use my oven that much as I'm usually grilling. I probably use it 10-15 times per year and rely on a larger Breville toaster oven to roast/bake smaller things for the two of us. (That appliance has saved me many times and is worth every penny and has lasted well beyond the life of the Viking stove, at a fraction of the price.)

I've given up on Viking, as other appliances in this suite have been problematic just as much. I stopped using the dishwasher years ago. That's a saga unto itself. Sometimes it works, sometime it doesn't You never know. You get a light show on the control panel telling you why it failed cleaning. My point here is that Viking Appliances needs to be held 'accountable' for the quality of their products. Supposedly they are premier appliances that should be built to last. The Consumer Safety Commission needs to be aware as well, especially with regard to safety concerns with the range. I can't in good faith recommend buying a product from this company. Again, they look great but they just don't hold up. I will buy American again but not them!!
